AN: Thanks for the reviews and comments!
Jumper Prime - the point of dosing Eri with Trigger was to force her quirk to activate.
As for everyone else's comments, well let's just jump right in.
All Might grunted as he felt his body de-aging, the girl shaking violently in his arms.
"No, stop, please stop!" Eri muttered to herself, her eyes screwed shut as she tried to bring her quirk under control.
Abruptly, the golden light disappeared. Chancing a glance down the corridor, All Might saw Eraserhead had activated his quirk, erasing Rewind.
"There there Eri, it's alright now," All Might assured the girl, who was still trembling as she clung to his chest.
"No!" Overhaul yelled, slamming his hand against the wall and turning the walls and floor into a wave of spikes that raced towards the heroes, only for them to suddenly stop.
"Think again!" Rock Lock yelled, his hand pressed against the wall as he used his quirk to counter Overhaul's quirk.
"You've lost!" Ms. Joke shouted.
Nighteye came up and launched a weighted seal at Overhaul, but it never reached its target as another wall appeared between them, creating a wall separating the hallway.
"Boss, you have to go now!" the voice of Mimic called from the walls. "I'll hold them off."
Overhaul motioned for Nemoto to follow. Despite losing Eri, they had enough material to continue their research. Now their priority was to escape.
On the surface, Detective Tsukauchi watched in stunned silence through the cameras of the officers. He saw the girl Eri using her quirk on All Might, only for it to be stopped by Aizawa. Thankfully it wasn't active long enough to make All Might disappear, but he still didn't know the full effect it had on the hero. He watched the next few seconds as the police and heroes arrived, only for a wall to suddenly appear. Hearing movement from the back of the van, he turned just in time to see Izuku and Ochako's backs as they exited the vehicle.
With a heavy sigh, Tsukauchi turned on his radio. "What are you two doing?"
"We have a good idea of where Overhaul is going to be!" Izuku explained.
"If we can get down there with Ryukyu, we can try and stop him from escaping!"
"And how do you plan on getting underground that fast?"
"Do you really want to know?" Ochako laughed nervously.
Tsukauchi already felt the headache coming on as he pinched the bridge of his nose. "Please try and keep property damage to a minimum."
"Yes sir!" the two responded in perfect harmony.
Ryukyu stood guard over the large form of Rikiya when she spotted Izuku and Ochako running up, fully concealed by their costumes now that they had their helmets on. Having heard the conversation on the radio, she turned to them and sighed. "I already heard. What are you two planning on doing?"
Ochako pointed toward an intersection. "There's a large underground warehouse under there which connects to the sewer system. We think that's where Overhaul is going."
Ryukyu looked at Ochako and simply nodded. "Alright, let's go."
As the three ran toward the intersection, Ochako activated Smoke, a thick cloud pouring out of her costume as she filled the area to cover what they were doing. When they reached the center of the intersection, she looked toward Izuku, the green glow of Full Cowling acting like a beacon in the smoke. Taking a deep breath she called upon One For All and wrapped herself in Galactic Shroud before she touched the concrete and activated heavy gravity.
"We're coming up on the raid now!" the pilot announced to the rest of the news team in the helicopter.
"Why didn't the police inform us of a raid so early in the morning," the reporter complained. "We probably missed all the good stuff already."
"Look at that!" His companion pointed at the ground. There, they saw the street filled with smoke as Ryukyu hovered in her dragon form just above it.
Without waiting for further instruction, the cameraman pointed the camera at the scene. As the news team watched, they saw a green and pink light appear in the smoke, and right before they saw a glowing pink ring shining through. They couldn't see what was happening, but they saw the two lights starting to descend underground, followed by Ryukyu.
"What is going on down there?"
"Whatever it is, they're sending Ryukyu and two unknown heroes in."
"We can't see anything from up here, not with all that smoke!"
The reporter gave a heavy sigh. "Let's land then, see if we can get better shots from the ground."
"Pleasedontdisappearpleasedontdisappearpleasedontdisappear…" Even with her quirk erased, Eri clung tightly to All Might.
"You don't have to worry, young Eri!" All Might comforted her. "I'm not going to disappear. I am here to stay! We were able to stop your quirk in time!"
"It's okay, Eri. We're here," Ms. Joke said as she put her hands on Eri's back, rubbing soothing circles into it. She gently tried to remove the little girl from All Might so that he could continue the chase, but despite her best efforts, she refused to let go of the number one hero.
"It might be too late," Nighteye announced, holding the radio. "It appears that those two are on their way down."
"Of course." Aizawa sighed as he put eye drops in. With the Trigger coursing through Eri's system, he was forced to continuously erase her quirk, afraid of what would happen if he stopped. "What about the rest of the yakuza?"
"Six of the eight Bullets are currently in custody. Kendo Rappa is still facing off against Gran Torino. Most of the low-level yakuza have been apprehended, and in a surprising turn of events, we have apprehended the boss of the Shie Hassaikai as well," Nighteye rattled off the list.
"That's something at least."
"There you go. See? I've got you." Ms. Joke said as she finally managed to loosen Eri's grip on All Might enough to pull her off of him, before she pressed the trembling girl into her chest, stroking her back. "Look, he didn't disappear! And I'm not going to disappear either." Looking at All Might, she gave him a simple nod before she began walking down the corridor toward Eraserhead and several police officers.
"All Might, are you alright?" Nighteye asked in a low voice.
"I'm better than alright!" All Might proudly announced. "It's easier for me to move and breathe now!"
"What about your quirk?"
All Might leaned over and cupped his hand to whisper to Nighteye. "It is still gone, but the embers remain."
"We will have to determine exactly what is going on later then," Nighteye responded, a hint of disappointment in his voice. "Do you think you should stop?"
"Of course not!" All Might stood up to his full height and flexed. "We may have saved little Eri, but we still have to finish the job!"
Everyone backed off as All Might approached the wall, punching the spikes and shattering them as if they were made of plaster. When he reached the wall he wound up, preparing to punch the wall.
"SMASH!"
Overhaul and Nemoto dashed down the corridor when they heard a crashing sound from the room ahead of them.
"The heroes breached there too?" Nemoto asked while Overhaul scowled.
"This isn't an ordinary raid," Overhaul declared. "Somehow they knew about our operation and the layout of our catacombs."
"What are we going to do?"
"If they are this concerned about my research, it must scare them," Overhaul mused, looking at Nemoto. "I have an idea."
"Release." Ochako touched her hands together as she and Izuku approached the floor, restoring their gravity as they dropped the last few feet onto the floor.
"Overhaul isn't here yet," Ryukyu called out as she flew around the room before landing, reverting to her human form. "Are you sure he's coming this way?"
"This was the escape route he used in both of our timelines," Izuku explained.
Suddenly they heard a sound coming from the doorway. Spinning, the three of them saw the entrance overhauled before their very eyes, the door vanishing and replaced with a solid wall.
"Damn it!" Ochako yelled in frustration. "We were too early!"
"Calm down," Ryukyu cautioned, looking at the wall. "You two can bring that down, right?"
"Yes," Izuku said, looking at Ochako. "If you crush it with your gravity I can use Blackwhip to pull the pieces away."
Ochako released the tension in her fist and looked at Izuku, nodding in determination. "Right! We've still got this!"
They hurried over to where the doorway was. Ochako pressed her hands to the wall, infusing it with heavy gravity. They heard the wall crack and strain.
"He reinforced this section!"
"I've got it." Ryukyu transformed into her dragon form and charged the wall, slamming into it. The three heard the wall groan as it started to fall into the corridor behind them.
Entering the hallway, they saw two retreating figures turn a corner and gave chase. Ochako pumped One For All into her legs and shot ahead, rounding the corner and preparing to launch herself at Overhaul. Only to be confused as she saw two identical Overhauls running down the corridor.
"What the?" she asked in confusion, as one of them turned around and touched the ground, turning the corridor into a wave of spikes that raced towards her.
"Graviton!" Izuku shouted, but Ochako was prepared for the attack. She hopped back down the corridor, deftly avoiding the field of spikes that suddenly appeared.
"There's two of him." Ochako stared in disbelief.
"I guess he overhauled someone to look like himself?" Izuku mentally went through the list. "Likely Nemoto or Chronostasis based on who hasn't been captured yet…"
"We need to be careful," Ryukyu warned. "If we aren't sure which one is the real one, that just makes him all that more dangerous.
"Agreed." Ochako nodded.
"But first, we have to get past these spikes."
"I'll handle it," Izuku volunteered as he called upon blackwhip and sent the tendrils out. As he had expected, the spikes in the hallway were thin and brittle, and he was able to clear a path, and once again they continued to follow Overhaul, if at a much slower pace.
It took Mimic longer than he would have liked, but he finally managed to redirect All Might down the wrong corridor.
"Fool."
With a laugh, he started traveling along the wall to find his own escape route. He knew he only bought the boss minutes, but hopefully, that would be enough to let him escape.
Izuku, Ochako, and Ryukyu finally came across a smaller warehouse than the one they arrived in, and saw the two Overhauls standing in front of a segment of wall.
"Boss, they're here," one of the Overhauls announced as he drew his gun and fired several shots at the heroes. With honed reflexes Izuku and Ochako dodged out of the way, powering Full Cowling and Galactic Shroud, respectively, to launch themselves into the air.
"We're not letting you go any further!" Ochako called as she bounced off the ceiling, launching herself towards the Overhaul with a gun. Within seconds she had crossed the room and landed a solid punch on him, sending him flying into the wall and knocking him unconscious.
"That's going to be your last mistake," Overhaul said as he reached for Ochako while she took a moment to recover.
"You stay away from her!" Izuku roared as he unleashed Blackwhip, grabbing Overhaul and tossing him across the room before leaping after him.
Overhaul hit the ground with a grunt and saw Izuku coming in for an attack. He pressed his hand against the ground, activating his quirk and turning the ground in front of him into a wall of spikes. Spotting the threat in time, Izuku launched Blackwhip and pulled himself upward, narrowly avoiding the wall, but also missing his opponent.
"Nice trick," Ryukyu called out as she buffeted Overhaul with her wings, the air pressure forcing him back to his knees.
Activating his quirk again, Overhaul once again reformed the ground, creating several large spikes in an attempt to impale the dragoon hero and force her back. Finally, with a moment of breathing room, he stood up. "You are all such a nuisance! Why couldn't you just let me conduct my research in peace?!"
"Your twisted research was hurting Eri!" Ochako yelled as she kicked one of the spikes, causing it to break free. Wrapping her hands around it, she removed its gravity as she kicked off the stump, launching herself at the villain. As she approached she saw him reaching for the ground and let go of the spike, quickly pressing her hands together. "Release!"
Gravity reasserted itself and the spike arced downward, crushing Overhaul's arm, causing him to howl in pain. "How dare you!?"
Pressing his hand where the stone met flesh, Overhaul activated his quirk, repairing his arm and wrapping it in a concrete sheath. Seconds later, he raised his hand and grunted as he felt Izuku's impact against it. Activating his quirk again, he created spikes out of the concrete, driving a spike into Izuku's foot.
"Augh!" Izuku called as he leaped away, landing tenderly on his feet.
"Deku! Are you alright?!"
"Yes. I've had worse," Izuku said through gritted teeth.
Pressing his advantage, Overhaul launched a bundle of spikes towards Izuku, who called upon Blackwhip, lashing out and shattering them. Wrapping himself in Full Cowling again, Izuku leaped in the air. He had fought through worse before, and he wasn't going to let a single injury stop him! He launched Blackwhip at Overhaul, who tried to block with his concrete arm. Izuku hit the ceiling and poured One For All into his arms, pulling Overhaul into the air.
"Ryukyu!"
Silently, the hero swooped in and swatted Overhaul, sending him crashing to the ground with a crunch.
It hurt for Overhaul to move, but it didn't matter. All he had to do was press his hand against his side and use his quirk on himself, and he repaired his injuries before he stood up. "While I can keep repairing any damage you inflict, it's annoying with how much it hurts."
"That's nothing compared to the pain you inflicted on Eri!" Ochako shouted.
"If you don't like it, why would you subject her to that?" Izuku demanded.
"She is the answer to the disease that plagues humanity," Overhaul explained. "With her power, I can end the plague known as quirks for good!"
"That's-"
"-monstrous! Quirks aren't a disease!" Izuku insisted.
"Of course, people like you wouldn't understand," Overhaul stood up. "I will make you understand! I'll make everyone understand!"
"And we'll be there to stop you!" Ryukyu answered for all of them as she dove from the sky. She saw Overhaul's hands and knew it would be fatal for him to touch her, but she had a lot of practice thanks to sparring with Ochako. As she saw his hand reaching out, she veered to the side and swung with her tail, hitting Overhaul in the back and sending him crashing into a wall.
"Grah!" Overhaul sputtered.
"Stupid heroes, isn't three on one odds a little unfair?" the voice of Mimic rang out as he started causing the floor to shift under the heroes, forcing Izuku and Ochako to steady themselves.
"Have you dealt with All Might?" Overhaul asked as he pushed himself up.
"He's busy for now, but we don't have much time. He's persistent!"
"Well then, desperate times call for desperate measures." Overhaul pulled the final vial of Trigger out of his pocket. "Mimic, to me."
"Here boss!" The heroes had a reprieve as the room stopped moving momentarily. Mimic slid out of the wall to stand next to Overhaul, who looked over his faithful lieutenant.
"This is going to hurt."
Overhaul tossed the vial of trigger in the air and pressed a hand against Mimic and himself, activating his quirk. The two disappeared in a flash of light. Having not seen this before, Ryukyu watched in horror as she saw the two split apart, while Izuku and Ochako clenched their fists, knowing what was happening. A moment later the light dissipated, revealing the hulking form of Overhaul, now with avian features and four arms.
"Now then, goodbye heroes." Overhaul snatched the vial of Trigger out of the air and injected himself before he disappeared into the wall.
The three heard a rumbling in the floor and Ochako grabbed Izuku's arm, removing his gravity and tossing him upward in a smooth motion before she touched herself and leaped into the air, narrowly avoiding the pit that opened up underneath their feet.
"This is bad!"
"No kidding!"
"Have any more bright ideas?" Ryukyu asked as she hovered in the air.
Izuku saw a pillar moving to crush Ochako and launched Blackwhip, wrapping a tendril around her and pulling her away. He then launched another tendril, using the momentum of a different pillar to carry himself away.
"We need to get him out of the wall!" Izuku explained.
"How do you propose we do that?!"
Izuku pulled himself to a wall with Blackwhip and kicked off of it, floating across the room as he desperately scanned the walls for some clue.
There!
He saw a silhouette moving along the wall, approaching the exit to the sewers. "Graviton, Ryukyu!" Getting their attention, he pointed to the exit.
"I see it!" Ryukyu swung her tail at a pillar, shattering it while Ochako reached out and touched a large piece of debris, removing its gravity. "Deku, get ready!"
Izuku mentally prepared himself for the shift when Ochako restored his gravity, as Ochako launched herself at the segment of the wall. Adjusting herself, she launched herself back at the piece of debris, sending it rocketing towards the door. "Release!"
Izuku felt his stomach drop as he felt gravity reassert itself and fired out a Blackwhip tendril to compensate for the sudden change in momentum, pulling himself across the room. As he swung across the room he adjusted his swing to cross paths with the falling Ochako. As they intersected, he held out his hand and she grabbed it. "Thanks for the save Deku!"
"Anytime." Izuku used his momentum to throw Ochako at a wall, and he watched her wrap herself in Galactic Shroud again as she connected, using the platform to launch herself into the air.
Meanwhile, Ryukyu saw as the debris hit the wall. They heard a scream echo throughout the room, only to see the rock explode as Overhaul fell out of the wall. "Why won't you just die already!?"
Izuku launched himself towards Overhaul, firing a tendril of Blackwhip at the villain only to see him create a shield around himself, the rock shattering as it deflected the attack. Overhaul responded with an attack of his own, launching a wave of spikes at Izuku. He couldn't dodge in time and felt himself thrown backward, a spike impaling his arm.
"Deku!" Ochako saw red as she launched herself at Overhaul. He was going to pay!
Overhaul touched the ground and used his quirk, wrapping his arms in spikes made out of concrete. As Ochako came flying in, he hit her with a backhand, tearing up her leg and sending her flying. She refused to give up, activating her quirk on herself and letting the momentum carry her to the roof before she canceled it and launched herself at overhaul, feinting an attack, only to land behind him and kick out with her leg, sending him stumbling forward. Overhaul let the momentum send him to the ground and activated his quirk, sending a wave of spikes behind him, but Ochako already accounted for that, coming from his side and landing a precise kick on his arm, shattering concrete and sending him stumbling.
"How annoying. Are you willing to let your friend die to stop me?" Overhaul asked as he touched the ground, a wave of spikes racing towards Izuku.
Ochako kicked off a spike and raced towards Izuku, his arm already out and ready as she flew past him, removing his gravity as she picked him, the two ending up floating next to a wall.
"And now that the floor is a deathtrap, time to turn the rest of the room into one as well." Overhaul touched the ground and filled every surface of the room with spikes.
"There won't be any death today, because I Am Here!" All Might announced as he flew into the room, throwing a punch with enough force to shatter the spikes as they were forming.
With a grimace, Overhaul looked at the three heroes. "Fine then, If you won't let me leave, then nobody does." He pressed his hand against the wall, and suddenly the room began shaking as the floor started to rise and the ceiling began to collapse.
"What are you doing?!" All Might exclaimed. "You'll die too!"
"Better to die than to live in a diseased world," Overhaul responded. "Your move, hero."
All Might saw Ryukyu already moving towards Izuku and Ochako. In his moment of hesitation, he saw Overhaul disappear into the wall. Refusing to break his smile, All Might rushed forward and grabbed Izuku as Ryukyu grabbed Ochako before the two of them retreated out of the room.
Seconds later, they saw the room disappear behind them. He couldn't see their faces, but he could feel the disappointment radiating from his successors.
"We failed…"
"He escaped…"
"Don't despair, it's not a total loss!" All Might reassured the two. "We have dealt a crippling blow to the Shie Hassaikai today. And more importantly, Eri is safely in our hands!"
"Yay!" Ochako cheered.
"Is she ok? I know Overhaul did something to her."
"She was suffering from being injected with Trigger, but Ms. Joke and Eraserhead are caring for her. Those two are more than capable of handling the situation, and she's likely already back on the surface getting examined."
"But what about Overhaul?" Ochako asked, looking at the sealed room.
"If he resurfaces, we will deal with him then."
The two looked wearily at the wall where the room had previously occupied, both filled with disappointment despite their mentor's assurance.
AN: Himiko laid across a chair in the living room, texting her friends while Inko watched the news. Suddenly, the news station announced that a major raid was occurring in Tokyo. The announcement that All Might was present caught Himiko's attention. When Izuku explained that he would be spending the morning at UA with Ochako, that usually meant that he would be training in private with All Might.
If he was in Tokyo…
She adjusted herself to sit in the chair properly and watch the report. The reporters were trying to interview the officers but were currently being shut down. Eventually, they cut back to an earlier footage, and Himiko's eyes went wide as she watched the scene.
No way… That's Izu and Chako! What are they doing at a raid?!
"Is something wrong, Himi?" Inko asked, sensing Himiko's distress.
"I- maybe," Himiko admitted. Looking down at her phone she brought up her contacts and dialed Izuku's number.
Please pick up…
