Hello all, for those who don't know, I delisted Rey 10 due to the fact the writing was...kind of sloppy. So until I can improve it, I've decided to put the series on hiatus after literally just one chapter...yea. Also writing Ch.2 is really killing me and its a mess soooo yea. That doesn't mean Rey 10 is gone for good, I've got a lot of stuff planned. But in the meantime, lets step away from Ben 10 and TOH and focus on Amphibia; in particular, what if a fourth girl was transported to Amphibia alongside Anne, Sasha and Marcy. How would things change? There is only one way to find out.
Chapters will be published on a bi-weekly basis alongside Rey 10 chapters once I get those sorted. Without further ado, let's begin.
Chapter-1: The Golden Coast.
"Seattle to L.A? That's…a jump." Cindy Maxwell had to look twice whilst on the living room couch, still trying to process the news. She was a 13 year old brunette who had a slim build and stood five feet and 6 inches tall. She had dark brown eyes that sat on their sockets and brown silky hair that went to her chin, parted down the middle. She was of puerto-rican descent. Her usual attire consisted of a denim jacket with a black and white striped shirt with a black skirt that had white crosshatches all over it. Her stockings were a simple pitch black in colour as were her sneakers.
"Indeed, but look at it this way? New home, new friends and new school!" Cindy's mother reassured, trying to lighten spirits.
"And my new job at that." Cindy's father added.
"And that too, it's a new opportunity for all of us, look at it this way." Cindy's mother continued, smiling as she and her husband lifted up the TV to place into the moving van. It seemed like only yesterday that her father got off the phone with a massive smile on his face and announced to the family that he got a job that paid not only higher, but was something he properly enjoyed, but there's a cache; the job was in Los Angeles, California. Another City. Another state. Having to move house initially when she was six was already bad enough, but at least that was in the same city. This new home was thousands of miles away south in a city that she barely recognised from movies and TV shows. A new home where none of her few only friends from school will ever see her again. Quickly, Cindy got back on her switch and tried to distract herself via playing Sonic Mania, to try and distance herself from this harsh reality as much as she can.
"Did you figure out the school she'll be going to?" Cindy's mother asked.
Cindy's father grinned."Yep, and you're gonna like this one: Saint James Middle School. It's a private school so it's the best of the best!" he replied excitedly before looking at Cindy, his smile morphed into a frown once he saw her eyes glued to the screen of her device.
"Cindy, I know that it's not nice leaving everything you knew behind but there is a bright side, you'll meet friends, experience new things and all that good stuff." Cindy's father explained.
"Exactly, I mean, look it this way. I was really hesitant to leave San Juan when I was your age, just like you I was feeling sad that I was leaving everything and everyone behind. But that ultimately turned out to be a good thing because I met your father."
"Uh huh." Cindy gave a curt response. Yes, she has been told how far away it is numerous times. Yes, she has given her last goodbyes to her few friends. But it still stung. It still stung more than getting an earful by your favourite teacher, it stung more than getting second place in Fortnite. It stung more than anything Cindy could've ever imagined.
"Karrie, did you get all of the dvds?" Cindy's father asked whilst he placed his and his wife's clothes into the back of his truck.
"Yep, all loaded in Miguel!" Cindy's mother said whilst securing the DVDs in the back of the truck. After another hour of moving and securing furniture into both the moving van and their Cherry red family truck, the Maxwells were now ready to leave. As Cindy stepped out the front door, she took one last look of the neighbourhood, one last look of their home and one last look at the Seattle skyline far off into the distance. With a deep breath, Cindy set foot into the truck. One key twist, one push of the pedal and a turn of the steering wheel and they were now on their way to Los Angeles.
As the truck cruised its way through the streets and the buildings and trees zipped by one final time, all Cindy could do was look out and reminisce; back to when all she had to worry about was if she was going to get into trouble for not doing her homework. Back to when she visited her friends house for her 10th birthday, back to when her dad took her to the space needle for christmas. All those memories, all the joy and nostalgia…now to be left behind to settle in another city, another world if you will. Past the Space Needle, past Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and finally out of Seattle and into Tacoma. Tacoma came as quickly as they entered. Olympia, Castle Rock and Longview, all to never be seen again. Cindy swung her head up from her switch and looked at the sign outside; they were entering the Washington Oregon bridge even though it was already eight AM. That, in Cindy's eyes, was the cue to shut off her switch, shut her eyes and cast herself to sleep.
"W-what the-?" Cindy's eyes flung open as she found herself in outer space, stars filled the pitch black backdrop whilst she rapidly scanned the area, desperately searching for anything that could explain this predicament, she looked down to her chest and her eyes widened; a purple spark was forming on her chest, on her hands and on her feet. She desperately looked around when she spotted three other figures; one blue, one green and one pink. "H-hello?" Cindy tried calling out to the three figures. "What is this place? Who are you?" Cindy swam towards them, but the closer she got, the brighter a white light at the centre became, it got brighter and brighter…until…
"Guh!" Cindy sprung up, woken via car horn outside, she took a glance out of the window, trying to peer through her half closed eyes. They were driving for so long that the sun has just set and the sky has taken a dark navy tone as it sat above the glistening LA skyline in the distance. Red and white car headlights dotted the streets as the moon looked over the Pacific ocean and the city. It was another two short hours of driving until they finally arrived at their new home. A two story brick home not too dissimilar to their old one back in seattle, albeit painted blue instead of red. A red porch extended two ft away from the front door with a white fence wrapping atop it. A window sat next to the front door, that being the living room window. Jutting out from the roof is a window, that window being what Cindy paid attention to the most. As the family went in, Cindy ran upstairs and into the room left of the stairwell. Staring at the empty room, her mind drew a blueprint of what to put: a desk looking into the window? Hell yeah.
Shelf next to the door? Definitely. The closet right in front of her bed? Convenient for sure! But alas, that'll have to wait as the family's belongings will arrive tomorrow so for now, Cindy sits against the wall and talks to her discord friend, MarzMarz, or her actual name, Marcy.
"Yo you good? Why are you quiet today?" Marcy asked Cindy, her voice emanating an aura of worry?
"Bit busy, I forgot to tell you, but I moved to another state." Cindy responded.
"Oh..what state?" Marcy asked curiously.
"California, and I live in LA" Cindy responded
"OMGOMGOMG I LIVE IN LA!" Marcy excitedly messaged back, followed by dozens of emotes of cats gleaming with happiness.
"WAIT YOU DO?!" Cindy asked as she gleamed in front of her screen.
"YEAYEA" Marcy confirmed followed by a question. "Wait, are you going to St James Middle School?"
"Yea I start next week." Cindy said with a big fat grin on her face.
"OH MY GODDDDD :DDDDDDD" Marcy's response wasn't enough to capture the excitement bubbling within her.
"I KNOW RIGHT!" Cindy spouted with gleam.
"Alright, get some good rest, first thing in the morning we unpack everything." Cindy's father informed Cindy whilst she was tucked in her sleeping bag. "Goodnight, love ya!"
"Love ya too Dad." Cindy said before she casted her mind to sleep.
"Uh-huh?! This again?" Cindy found herself in space once more, the same void she found herself in previously; the same purple spark and the same three figures made their return. This time, one of them reached out towards her. "Ok, who are you? What is this place? Are you guys trying to talk to me or something?" Cindy demanded answers but just as she was about to reach out and touch fingers with the one reaching out with them…
"Guhhhh!" Cindy sprang awake to see that she was still in her bedroom, still plain as ever. "The hell was that?" Cindy thought to herself as she went back to sleep.
