The freeing of Divine Beast Vah Ruta was cause for celebration among the Zora. A feast was thrown in the Rising Sun Company's honor. The feast consisted of mostly seafood, though for a few members who didn't like seafood, land meat was provided.
It had to be noted that some of the Zora elders seemed more interested in celebrating the four mages who had entered Ruta with Link than Link himself. But Sidon and the younger Zora gave all of the company credit, including those injured fighting the Lynel.
King Dorephan had been pleased with the work the company had done, and had been glad to provide them with anything they needed. There had been quite a few things they had needed, but Doraphan had assured them it was no trouble at all. He had provided tools and various other items needed for travel.
He hadn't needed to provide weapons; Link had found a Shrine located in the city, and had opened it to find another Vault, this one with weapons for the Zora.. There had been enough that replacing the weapons broken fighting the Lynel had been no trouble at all. This Vault had not contained another Mini-Slate, but it had contained a pair of gauntlets made of Zora silver, which Raphael had been given based upon the fact that he was the only one with big enough hands to wear them.
Raphael had quickly discovered that the gauntlets made him even stronger. "I'd like to see that Lynel try and out-punch me now!"
Mipha and Sidon had agreed to help train the Rising Sun Company's lancers, and in Mipha's case, their mages. She didn't seem well-versed in Reason magic (that had always been Urbosa's forte, according to her) but she was an exceedingly proficient Faith mage. Not only had she figured out the theory behind Flayn's improvised combat art (Flayn had named it the Seraphim Strike), but she had also figured out a way to make it more energy efficient, making it damage her weapons less while consuming less power. With the technique thus improved, Marianne had been able to learn it, and Dorothea and Lysithea had helped her figure out a version that could work with a sword rather than a spear. Sadly, Mercedes's hopes to enchant arrows with Light magic seemed like they would need more work.
Marianne had developed a preference for the spear over the sword, and when Sidon had received Mipha's trident, he had given one of his tridents to her at Mipha's suggestion.
Marianne also seemed to notice Mipha was training her a bit more than her fellow Faith mages. Why was that? Why was Mipha giving her special attention? She wasn't the best of the Faith mages. Flayn was far better than her. Despite her lack of confidence, she also knew she wasn't the worst. Lysithea was. Why focus on Marianne?
At one point, when Mipha was training her one-on-one, she brought up the question.
Mipha hesitated before answering. "I see a lot of myself in you," she eventually answered. "I wasn't terribly confident during my lifetime either. The elders will tell you that I could do no wrong, but in my own eyes I was a perpetual screw-up. I often felt...undeserving, of everything I had inherited."
"Really?" Marianne asked. That didn't seem to track with what she had seen of Mipha.
"Oh, yes," Mipha answered. "Even after I was chosen to be one of the Champions, I felt overshadowed by Daruk, Urbosa, and Revali, and especially Link. Not that they were anything but encouraging to me. They treated me as an equal. They saw potential in me even when I didn't see it in myself. And I see potential in you."
"You're wrong," Marianne said.
"No, I don't think I am," Mipha said. "I think you have the potential for greatness, Marianne. In fact, I want to give you something."
Marianne was curious. "What?"
"I cannot heal Link from inside Vah Ruta," Mipha said. "I want to give you my gift. Mipha's Grace, they called it."
"You really think I should be the one to wield your power?" Marianne asked.
"I do," Mipha told her.
Marianne looked at the green orb of magic in Mipha's hand. She took it, and it flowed into her body. "Then I will try not to disappoint you."
"That's all I ask," Mipha told her.
Flayn had asked King Dorephan about the Divine Dragons, and he had directed her to a priest named Kapson. She asked him what he knew about them.
"The Divine Dragons, you say?" Kapson asked. "I know a little bit about them. They were created by the goddesses Din, Nayru, and Farore. Their names are Dinraal, Naydra, and Farosh. Sometimes they fly through the sky at night, but no one really knows where they go during the day."
"Where could I find them?" Flayn asked.
"Well, usually Dinraal is seen in the Tabantha region, near the Rito lands," Kapson said. "Farosh is usually seen in west Necluda, near Lake Hylia or Lake Floria. Naydra...no one has seen her in some time."
"Maybe the other two can help me find Naydra," Flayn thought.
She looked at a map. It was a paper map, not as good as the map on the Sheikah Slate, but it showed where those regions were. Tabantha was too far away, so Necluda was where she would begin her search.
