Chapter 19: Showdown! Biolizard Unleashed!

Orbot and Cubot were walking through the corridor of the ARK, hoping Sonic was talking to Shadow to help save the Earth. Orbot didn't mind waiting as long as it wasn't boring him. He wasn't used to being around others for such a long time and he had to admit that when it was just him and Cubot, it was nice not to think about things all the time.

"Man, I hope Shadow helps Sonic out with this battle," Cubot said, rubbing the back of his head.

"And we haven't seen any other Mobians for so long." Orbot nodded in agreement.

"Yeah, but I'm sure Shadow will come up with something. Maybe he has some plans in mind or something." Cubot shook his head.

"No way, Shadow's always been super good at developing strategies on the spot. And even if it takes a little longer he'll probably make one for us later," said Orbot.

"Yeah, you're probably right," said Cubot.

Orbot heard a strange noise coming from the door behind them, so he stopped to listen. It sounded like someone was making weird noises in there.

"What's that noise?" asked Orbot quietly, he opened the door a little to take a peek. He could see two hedgehogs moving on the floor. The dark hedgehog was on top of the cobalt hedgehog, pumping into him and they were kissing.

Orbot quickly shut the door and turned away, his face bright red. "Oh, God!" he cried.

"What? What's wrong?" asked Cubot, confused.

"Th-they're ... they're doing something!" Orbot sputtered. "They're making out!"

"What?!" Cubot yelled, his eyes bugging out of his face.

"What are they even doing, for making out like that? Didn't I tell Sonic to ask Shadow for help and save the Earth before it crashes?!" Orbot continued rambling, still embarrassed by what he'd seen. He couldn't believe they would do such a thing while they were on the ARK!

"Sh-shouldn't we do something?" asked Cubot nervously, looking around the hallway nervously.

"I-I don't know..." muttered Orbot, still too embarrassed to say anything else. He knew they were on board an experimental spaceship, which was supposed to be completely empty except for him and Cubot, but that didn't mean he felt comfortable letting anyone else know where they were.

"What's going on here?" asked the girl's voice coming from behind them

The robots yelped as they turned around to see the sakura hedgehog, it was Amy.

"What's going on?" she repeated.

" Oh, Amy. Uh, nothing. We, uh, we were just... um..." stammered Cubot.

Amy put her hands on her hip and raised an eyebrow. She walked slowly over to them and leaned closer to them until they were nose to nose. "You guys looked very suspicious here. Where's Sonic?" asked Amy.

"Sonic? Oh, he's, uh, talking to Shadow to try to help out," answered Orbot nervously.

"Yeah, they'll be out in a minute," added Cubot.

A moan noise came from the door behind them as the robots jumped and her ears suddenly perked up.

"What the hell?" she asked quietly. Before she reached for the handle, two robots blocked her way.

"Whoa, whoa, wait! You can't go in there," warned Orbot.

"Why not?" asked Amy, annoyed.

"Cuz they, uh, they're having a nice conversation," said Cubot. Orbot nodded.

"What kind of conversation are they having?!" she asked angrily. "I hear a strange noise behind that freaking door!"

The moaning was getting louder, making the robots feel uneasy.

"Well, uh, they need privacy," said Cubot nervously.

Amy furrowed her eyebrows in anger and pulled out her hammer. They stared at her in shock for a few seconds, then backed away.

Amy glared at them. "You're hiding something! You'd better explain what the hell's going on in there. If you don't move, I'll whack you with my hammer!" she threatened.

Orbot raised his hands trying to reassure her, "Uh, ma'am, please calm down," he pleaded.

"I'm going count to 3," said Amy in a firm voice. "One-" She took a step forward, ready to start swinging the hammer.

The two robots started whimpering in fear and started shaking their bodies rapidly and they hugged in fear.

"Two.."

'This is the end,' thought Orbot and Cubot in unison.

"Three!" Amy screamed as she slammed her down, the robots screamed and moved out of the way to avoid the hammer, causing it to break the door down. The two hedgehogs jolted and stopped making out, staring at the smashed door as it fell apart.

"What the hell?!" Sonic exclaimed, surprised.

Amy was shocked and covered her mouth by what she had seen. The two hedgehogs were on the floor together, both of their dicks were exposed as they covered them. They didn't seem to notice the hammer lying on the floor next to them. Their faces were flushed with embarrassment.

She was so flustered she couldn't speak. She only stood there with her eyes wide open like a deer caught in headlights, unable to comprehend what she had seen.

"Amy..." whispered Sonic.

"S-Sonic...?" whimpered Amy, her eyes rolled back to her head, her body started trembling, and she fell over unconscious while two robots caught her before she hit the floor.

"Hey, what's going on here? Why is— Oh, my God!" cried Tails, covering his eyes.

"Tails!" exclaimed Sonic. "It was a misunderstanding! We weren't doing anything! I swear!"

'We really shouldn't have come here after all,' sighed Orbot in thought.

Knuckles and Rouge came here and they were shocked to see the scene. Knuckles' eyes widened and his jaw hung open, and Rouge's eyes widened, her face was red, and covered her mouth with both hands.

"Oh, my God!" gasped Rouge.

And Eggman came to the room and saw this sickening scene. His eyes bulged and his mouth dropped open.

"What the—?! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TWO DOING?! Do you have any idea you've wasted your time by saving the Earth, and now you're making out?!" screamed Eggman furiously.

Sonic blushed shamefully and averted his gaze from Eggman. And Shadow looked away from them shamefully.

Sonic knew that Eggman knew that they hadn't done anything wrong, but still, they should be ashamed of themselves.

"I… I can explain," mumbled Sonic.

"Explain what?" demanded Eggman angrily.

"Erm, well, I—" Sonic began. "Shadow and I were fighting in the jungle, and… Shadow kissed me…"

"What?!" shocked Eggman, he couldn't believe what he had heard, and then he turned to Shadow. "You kissed him?"

Shadow hesitated, but he nodded at his question. Eggman threw his hands exasperatedly in the air, "And why did you kiss him?! That's not how you kiss your enemy!" he yelled.

Shadow's ears flattened against his head. "I…" Shadow trailed off.

"Oh, I don't wanna hear it! You two, get your filthy butts and go to the goddamn core right now!" shouted Eggman, pointing at the door, and the two hedgehogs got up and marched out of the room without saying another word. As soon as they left the room, Knuckles stepped in and asked Eggman.

"Uh, can I—"

"Yes! Go!" Eggman snapped at him.

Knuckles startled and left the room to find the core. Eggman placed his hand on his face and breathed deeply as he tried to think of some way to fix this problem, but he knew there was no chance.

"What the hell am I going about these two hedgehogs?" he muttered to himself.

Meanwhile*

Sonic, Shadow, and Knuckles were heading to the base of the core and found a huge room, this room looked exactly like a Chinese shrine. It was filled with large pillars, and various statues, along with different kinds of flowers, trees, and birds.

There were a few small paths around the room leading to more rooms and stairs leading to more areas, most likely leading to further parts of the place. All these buildings reminded Sonic of a temple, or maybe an ancient civilization.

"This is it!" yelled Knuckles excitedly. "This is the Core. Alright, I'm going to plant this Emerald on that base, and it'll be all over."

The ARK began to shake violently, causing them to stumble and lose their balance, Shadow caught Sonic before he hit the floor, and leaned on his strong chest. Knuckles hang on to it. Once again, they regained their balance and it stopped shaking. They paused for a moment, looking around before Sonic pushed Shadow away gently.

"I think she's holding," whispered Knuckles.

Just then the light flashed, and they covered their eyes without getting blind. When the light died down, they saw an enormous lizard monster with pipes on its back. It roared and the room shook once more, knocking down some of the pillars and statues. They were about to jump away, but it knocked over one of the pillars, which caused it to fall above their heads. Shadow grabbed Sonic in a bridal style and skated away while Knuckles dodged it.

"Shadow, what're you doing?! Put me down!" protested Sonic, struggling in the ebony hedgehog's arms.

"No! I will not let my partner die before we defeat this damn lizard!" insisted Shadow firmly.

Sonic hitched a breath, his cheeks turning pink. He could feel a warm feeling spreading through his body and he stared at him with wide eyes. It was then that he realized that he liked being held like that by Shadow.

'Not like a friend,' Sonic thought. 'A lover.'

They regrouped near one of the walls, where they watched the lizard roar and attack the pillar they were standing under with its sharp claws. It hit the pillar hard enough to break it and they started running again.

"What the hell is that thing?" asked Sonic.

"It's a Biolizard," answered Shadow.

"Could this be The Prototype of the Ultimate Lifeform that was supposed to be encapsulated?" asked Knuckles, incredulously.

"Yes," he replied. "This thing is far more powerful than any other life form that's ever existed."

"Why is it attacking us?" wondered Sonic.

"Probably because it knows we're here," replied Knuckles. "So it wants to destroy us. It's probably trying to destroy everything on this world including Earth itself."

Knuckles was right. This beast wanted to destroy all of the plants, and all living things on Earth, and then consume them. It was going to eat them whole until there was nothing but ash left behind. It was going to take Earth from its natural environment, but it wouldn't stop until it finished eating its way across the planet.

"We need to destroy that beast fast!" said Sonic.

"Leave this Biolizard to me. I'll take care of it," said Shadow.

"Shadow..." murmured Sonic.

"No time to argue. You two go ahead and do your thing. I'll hold that creature's attention," instructed Shadow.

"Okay, you be careful. Let's go, Knuckles."

They continued to run towards the center of the base. As they approached the central chamber, they made it up to the top. Sonic looked at Shadow as he fought the Biolizard, and he was amazed at how well the Shadow fought. He never expected him to be that good, he wasn't even that skilled when he fought the others.

Suddenly, the Biolizard charged at Shadow, who evaded it by rolling on the floor, but just then a blast of energy shot towards him. Shadow dodged again and looked at the Biolizard to make sure it was distracted by something else before jumping into the air and flying above the creature, punching its back with his fist. As the creature turned around and fired at him, Shadow jumped again and landed close to it, kicking its stomach, sending the creature flying back and falling onto the ground.

"CHAOS SPEARS!!" Shadow yelled as he shot the powerful spears at the monster lizard.

The lasers hit it and it roared in pain and the lasers kept hitting it. After a while, the Biolizard was able to shoot lasers back, an energy beam coming out of its mouth, and fired Shadow. He managed to dodge the attack and jumped over the Biolizard, punching its stomach once more before it fired another laser. Shadow dodged again and took a few steps backward.

Knuckles placed the Master Emerald to the center of the Core and activated it. A blinding green light shone throughout the room, illuminating the room like daylight, and giving it a very pleasant feeling. Soon after, a loud ringing noise filled the room.

"It's working!" cried Knuckles ecstatically.

"Do your thing, Knux!" said Sonic.

Knuckles closed his eyes, raised his hands in the air, and started his chanting.

"O Great Chaos, creator of all Creation,

Let thy power shine forth,

Release thy power, reveal thy form…"

As soon as Knuckles's voice faded out, the Master Emerald began to shine brighter. The glowing green energy grew stronger, and the ground beneath their feet trembled slightly. Suddenly, a massive wave of energy burst out from the Emerald, and the Biolizard was engulfed in the light, roared in pain, and it completely vanished.

The energy died down, and Shadow lowered his arms, breathing heavily. After a couple of minutes passed, Sonic spoke up, "Are you okay, Shadow?"

"Yeah," he replied.

Sonic smiled and kissed Shadow lightly on the lips. Shadow's cheeks were flushed bright red, and he couldn't help but smile as he kissed Sonic back.

"Oh, here we again," sighed Knuckles, rolling his eyes.

The ARK began to shake violently again, making it hard for the two hedgehogs to keep standing straight.

"What now!?" complained Sonic.

A walkie-talkie buzzed in, it was Eggman. "The prototype is still alive!"

"WHAT?!" The three were shocked in unison.

"He's controlling the Space Colony as it's falling toward the Earth! He's become one with the Space Colony and is determined to keep it on its collision course!" shouted Eggman over the speaker.

"Are you fucking kidding me?!" exclaimed Shadow angrily.

"I'm afraid so, Shadow," replied Eggman calmly.

"Dammit...!" snarled Shadow.

"Calm down, Shadz. We're going to rescue it," said Sonic reassuringly.

Knuckles came up with an idea, "Hey, remember when you fought Chao with your Super form?" he asked.

Sonic turned to Knuckles, surprised, "Yeah, I remember. We can use Chaos Emeralds to become Super form, we can beat that thing." Sonic turned to Shadow. "How about you, Shadow?"

"Well, I guess I'll give it a try," said Shadow.

Just then the two hedgehogs stood up, and the seven Chaos Emeralds encircled them. They closed their eyes calmly, feeling the energies flowing through their bodies. The emerald light grew brighter, until finally, everything became golden yellow light. Knuckles covered his eyes to avoid becoming blind.

Sonic's body was glowing golden yellow, his quills upward, his eyes were green to red. Shadow's body was glowing yellow yet it was paler. The two super hedgehogs stared at each other and smiled. Then they vanished and flew out of the colony. They were now in space, facing that Biolzard.

"Get ready, you overgrown lizard! We're taking you out!" said Sonic.
