[cue music- Hollywood Undead- I Don't Wanna Die]

Sun growled and ran towards the Beast, firing explosion dust shots from both nunchucku guns, only for Adam dodge them like it was nothing. Flashes of red energy were shown but were gone in the blink of an eye.

He swung his guns down, only for Adam to duck down and place his sword above them to stop the nunchuck guns. Pushing the guns up and away from himself, Adam leapt and swung forward, causing Sun to stumble backwards, nearly losing his balance. The monkey king barely dodged his sword in time.

Blake, looking at the two fighters with blurry eyes, was powerless to watch the beginning of the duel unfold.

Sun... Please... Stop him... she silently prayed.

The catwoman soon fell unconscious as the fight had begun.

[first verse]

Adam continued his advance while Sun leapt back and fired a few gunshots, only for Adam to absorb them with his sword. Not realizing what Adam was doing, the monkey king rapid fired at Adam, screaming loudly. But Adam absorbed them just as he did last time. Sun said nothing, but silently looked up in alarm.

Okay, that's not good!

With a grunt, Adam leapt at the monkey king and tried to strike his back. The monkey tailed faunus spun away and continued gunfire, only to see more red flares of energy as he continued to absorb attacks.

Oh crap, I'm only making him stronger! Sun ceased his gunfire as Adam finished absorbing the energy from his attacks. Maybe he can't absorb short range or more direct attacks?

He connected the two pieces of Ruyi Bang and Jingu Bang to reform his staff and blocked Adam's attack with his sword just as he tried to bring it down on him.

All the while, Kali and Ghira were fighting against Adam's squadron of soldiers. Kali whacked one guy on the head with her pan, followed by another, but they were still surrounded by White Fang goons. Ghira punched soldiers one after the other in the face, but those ones kept coming back.

"There's too many of them!" Kali exclaimed, knocking another one down.

"It's not that there's too many of them!" Ghira corrected. "It's that they keep coming back! Some are more resilient than I thought!"

"I'll get them over to me!"

Kali jumped back, giving Ghira some space. Douglas, who had been carefully dodging each swing the older catwoman had made, advanced towards her, lifted his hands up and yanked the pan right out of her hands.

"No, my frying pan!"

All the while, Sun's heart pounded, his blood boiled and his body felt colder. His command of "Leave her alone!" was heard above the noise.

Kali looked at her opponent.

"You have nowhere to hide, Madame." Douglas told her. "Surrender now, and perhaps you can walk out with as little damage as possible."

Despite being weaponless and shaking, she cried out, "Never!"

The Belladonna matriarch held her hands out nervously, only to draw them back as Douglas got out and revved up a chainsaw.

Kali nervously backed away. "Oh crud..."

[second verse]

Sun swung his staff at Adam as their fight continued. Sadly, Adam had dodged his maneuver. He swung it down in rapid succession numerous times, but once he did, Adam blocked it with his sword and absorbed the energy from the motion of the staff.

Okay, he can absorb any energy emitted! This is so not good! His heart pounded, his blood boiled and his body felt colder. How in the world can I stop him?!

To conceal his growing fear, he glared at Adam and shouted, "I said, 'Leave her alone!'"

Adam scowled at his opponent. "You're in no position to make threats, monkeyboy!"

Red and black soon enveloped the area, and with Wilt, Adam emitted a red wave of aura. His foe ducked down to dodge it, only to fall flat on his back as the energy flew over him, destroying part of the wall of the rooftop entrance. Surprisingly, Wungeng was not woken up from the blast nearby him.

The normal colors shown returned as Adam swapped Wilt for Blush. A terrified Sun was shown dodging his gunshots.

Definitely not good! I can't dodge forever, I need a plan! Come on think, what would Neptune do?! Or Scarlet? Sage?

In the midst of his questioning, he failed to see two gunshots coming towards him. One struck him in the middle of his chest, and the other struck the lower part of his stomach. His aura did not flash, but the blow sent him flying. He landed on another part of the wall, away from the pig-tailed faunus he once knew.

He stood up, trying to regain his coordination and saw Adam immediately running towards him. The monkey king immediately stepped to his left, time appearing to slow down as he barely dodged Adam's sword. Time resumed as Sun kicked down the new High Leader. Sun wasted no time, grabbed him by the back of his collar and threw him aside into some of his own soldiers. Douglas, who was nearby and saw his master losing, threw his chainsaw aside and onto the ground far below them.

The lieutenant screamed, "Adam! Are you alright?!"

Adam growled. "That monkeyman is making a fool out of me! I won't let myself be beaten by the likes of him!"

The bull king turned back to his target as Douglas was punched in the face by Kali, knocking his mask off him. The mask went flying before landing on the rooftop ground. The Belladonna mother gasped in horror and felt tears threaten to fall as she looked upon his face.

Douglas's right eye was a normal blue, but his left eye was clouded white. The lieutenant also had a massive red-pinkish scar over that side of his face, and Kali found herself shaking in fear once again.

"Horrified?" the lieutenant scowled. "You should be! You're fighting on the wrong side!"

Too terrified to speak, she thought, Wrong side? What does he mean by...?

Douglas cried out as he lunged towards her.

[bridge]

All the while, Adam and his opponent were locked into a major fight, his sword clashing against Sun's staff.

The monkey parried the incoming attack, and glared at him. "You give faunus a bad name!"

"Do you think you're any better?" Adam posed.

He placed his receptive hand farther away from him and spun his staff, trying but failing to get Wilt out of Adam's hands. "I don't think, I know I'm better than you!"

Adam ducked down and back. Then he kicked his opponent in the shin, causing Sun to groan in pain. "You know nothing!" He kicked him in the gut, causing him to drop his staff. The monkey king was then grabbed by the arm, dragged up and punched in the face. He slid back a few feet as he held the left side of his face in pain, then he shoved Sun to the ground. "Wungeng said he knows you, so you must be from Vacuo. So what would you know about the difficulties our kind has had to face?!"

His head spun as he stood up. Adam came towards him, giving him no time to breathe. The monkey king dodged each attack swiftly, and got on his hands, spin kicking the bull king. He held his face to prevent his mask from falling, then Sun wrapped his tail around Adam's left leg and sent him tumbling to the ground. Wilt slipped away from him, but before he could retrieve it, Sun placed his foot on his opponent's back and grabbed his left arm. Sun started twisting his arm, and Adam grit his teeth, not wanting to give his foe the satisfaction of hearing him scream.

"You bastard!" Sun insulted.

Adam conjured his inner strength and rolled over, jabbing Sun in the gut and knocking him off. He shook off the pain and grabbed one of Sun's left wrist as his own left hand was pinned down by Sun. The two were forced into a stalemate, neither one willing to give in. Sun twisted Adam's left arm and tried to choke him out. Adam gasped for air for a few moments before he head-butted his opponent, with his horns bruising Sun's forehead, who forgot to channel his aura there.

"Ow! Ow, damn it!"

In his pain, Adam took the opportunity to shove Sun off of him and retrieved Wilt. Seeing that Adam was retrieving his weapon, Sun made a move to do the same. With his staff back in his hands, he spun it around horizontally, trying to keep Adam from getting too close.

Once again, Adam absorbed the energy from the dust explosion blasts.

I can't let him get too much energy! But I'm still not sure how to beat him! Sun thought.

He retracted his staff and tried to think of a new plan as Adam charged at him yet again. Sun yelled as he struck Adam in the upper part of his right arm with his staff and then kicked him in the crotch. Adam howled in pain, clutching his manhood as he fell to his knees.

[the last few words are redacted as music ends]

The monkey king looked at Adam, groaning in agony from his recent injury. The victor breathed heavily, seething with rage.

You bastard! You are the worst! You...!

His train of thought was derailed when he heard a soft groan. He looked back at Blake, unconscious and beaten. Another groan was heard and he looked at her in concern. Sun then turned to Kali and Ghira, who were about to be overwhelmed by the remaining soldiers. With Ilia still out, Hector took the Lightning Lash from the ground. Shaking his head, the monkeyman turned back to Adam, clutching his injured groin.

I should kill him now, while...

Ghira was heard screaming in pain as Hector used Ilia's whip to electrocute him. He looked at her parents, about to fall... before turning back to Blake. The strongman could resist the pain, but for how long?

Sun growled. Revenge can wait. I have to get them out of here! But first...

With his staff in hand, he smacked Adam upside the head, knocking him out.

Kali cried out as Douglas and two other soldiers tried to drag her arm down. "Heads up!" Sun exclaimed.

He threw his staff over to Kali. Soon after catching it in her right hand, she spun it around and got Douglas and the remaining White Fang soldiers off her.

"Thanks!" she exclaimed.

Soon thereafter, Ghira threw the last two aside. The strongman grabbed his wife's frying pan while the monkeyman retrieved Blake's weapon and took Blake herself into his arms.

"We got em down, let's move!" Sun ordered.

The four quickly left the scene before any of them could wake up or recover. Adam, the only one who was actually fully conscious at that point, groaned in pain as his foes got away.

"Ow... fuck!" Adam complained. "Curse you monkeyman!"

Meanwhile, Yang stood in the doorway of her room. Leaving her door creaked open, she slowly and silently stepped through the halls. She looked the other way, knowing that her father's room was down there, and then looked back at the stairs.

Am I really going to...?

She stepped down the stairs gingerly, trying not to wake up her father... or the dog, sleeping in the upper right corner of the living room. Upon reaching the bottom of the stairs, she blinked and silently cried.

There's nothing left. I feel nothing... Is possible to feel numb yet sorrow at the same time? I don't know, but I don't like this feeling! I can't keep living like this!

The former fighter went into the kitchen and found herself looking at the kitchenware. Zwei's ears perked up as he woke up from his slumber. He approached Yang, and whimpered.

"No Zwei. There's nothing left." She picked up a large kitchen knife and held it in her left hand. "Nothing at all." Zwei nudged up against her leg, then bit onto her jeans as she went forward. "Zwei, let go." He refused, whining and whimpering as she dragged her right leg forward. "I said, 'Let go!'"

Zwei reluctantly obeyed. The corgi whimpered before he widened his eyes in terror and quickly ran up the stairs as Yang exited the house.

The scene showed Sun holding an unconscious Blake in his arms as he jumped up to a rooftop, joining Ghira and Kali. With Gambol Shroud on his back and Ruyi Bang and Jingu Bang staff in the hands of Kali, plus Ghira, who had Kali's frying pan, they were far from defenseless, but all were exhausted from the previous fight.

"Alright, I think we finally lost em." Sun spoke.

"I hope you're right." Ghira told him.

Blake groaned, slowly coming to her senses.

"Blake? Blake?!" He gently set her down, looking at her closely. "Are you alright?! Speak to me!"

The younger catwoman opened her eyes and looked at her boyfriend. "Sun?"

"Blake! You're okay!" Shortly after she sat up, he threw his arms around her, but instead of returning the gesture, she sat there motionlessly. "I was worried I lost you!" Shortly thereafter, she burst into tears. "Blake?" She buried her face in her hands, sobbing loudly and her ears almost turned inwards. "What's wrong?"

Kali knelt by her side. "What happened?"

"It's Adam... He... he hurt me! He.. he tried to..."

As Blake broke down completely, she told them everything that Adam had done to her, and what he had attempted to do. By the time she was done recounting the horrors she had been through, everyone was devastated and/or enraged in one way or another.

"How could he?!" Ghira had shouted. "After everything I did for him?! After every act of kindness me and Kali had done for him in his youth! How could he become such a malevolent monster?!"

He breathed heavily, trying to control his anger. As the chieftain of Menagerie tried not to destroy anything around him, he clinched his fists and breathed fast and heavily.

Sun punched the wall of the rooftop entrance with one hand, then the other, creating holes in the wall.

Kali, heartbroken by the turn of events, simply wept and knelt by Blake's side, holding her and trying to console her, but both of them were broken.

"I'm afraid it gets worse from there..." Blake continued.

"What do you mean?" Sun asked.

"When Adam reminded me that Beacon fell, he stated that Haven will fall next."

"Haven?!" Ghira and Kali exclaimed simultaneously.

Sun felt his muscles tense. "No, not Haven! Please not Haven Academy! That's where my friends are! My teammates!"

The strongman looked at Sun in surprise. "Your... team?"

"Yeah, my team. The other three members of team SSSN of Haven. I had to leave them in Vale to go help Blake defeat Adam, and they went to Mistral without me, promising to wait there. I told them where I was going, and left Neptune in charge in my absence. If Adam attacks Haven..."

No other words were said as he shook for a moment or two, but the consequences were more than clear to all present.

"This is bad." Ghira stated.

"Extremely bad." Sun agreed.

There was a moment of long, awkward silence before Blake looked at her parents. "Not like that I don't like seeing you, but... why are you here? Don't you have a large territory to look after?"

"We left Fennec, one of the two co-leaders of Menagerie's White Fang branch, as temporary chieftain." Kali began.

This only made the younger catwoman even more confused. "What about Diane Albain?"

"She's dead." she answered. "She died of a nasty cold over a year ago. Her nephews Corsac and Fennec took over. We left Fennec in charge while we were in Griamore Port. Originally we were on vacation, but when we heard about Maura's execution, we feared that the White Fang was beginning to be torn apart. We came here seeking the truth about her death, but all we've learned so far is the Mistralian White Fang Civil War that had already taken place."

The catgirl blinked, releasing tears as she did so. "I know why she was executed; Adam told me everything. Maura... was framed for crimes that weren't hers..." The tears fell down as she continued, "The Storming of Sanctum, and the destruction of the Argus Harbor Max Security Prison, in which Maura was impersonated by one of Athena's specialists. And Athena... did this to become the new Mistralian leader."

Ghira looked terrified as Kali gasped. The older catwoman remained in shock for two seconds. And then, she began to sob, falling to her knees not too long thereafter.

"No... Maura..." Kali spoke, her voice cracking. "How could this have happened?! First Maura, and now Sienna?"

The strongman knelt down and tried to console his wife as she grieved for their fallen friend.

After a moment or two of Sun and Blake watching Kali's second meltdown, the catwoman turned to her monkey boyfriend with a suspicious glare. "And speaking of lost souls, who was that 'Zhu' guy back there, and why was he addressing you as 'little brother?'"

Sun held his head in shame, as if he had just committed a crime. "His full name is Zhu Bajie Huong, and is my older half-brother."

Ghira raised an eyebrow. "How are the two of you even related?"

"We share the same mom." The monkeyman sighed and looked up to face his girlfriend and her parents. "I suppose I owe you an explanation."

The black beauty looked really annoyed with him, her cat ears flopping down. "Ya think?"

"Yeah... I should have told you earlier."

"Then why didn't you?" Ghira asked firmly.

"Well, if I be honest... this is a hard story to tell." Sun began. "This is a tale I've never really told anyone. Not my friends at Oscuro, not my teammates or friends at Haven, and..." He turned to face the love of his life. "not even you Blake. I'm sorry for not explaining earlier, but before I tell his tale, I must warn you; much like Blake's tale with Adam, this story has no happy ending."
