There was a sudden rumbling from the mountain.

David stood on the edge of a massive cauldron filled with molten rock, Daniel crumpled at his feet.

"Goodbye Daniel."

He tried to kick Daniel into the lava.

Something held Daniel in place, something no one could see.

Quartermaster raised his shotgun.

"Step away from him boy."

He growled at David, not wanting him to get caught in the shotgun blast.

Daniel laughed.

He actually laughed.

"Zeemog protects."

The Quartermaster opened fire.

Pellets traveling at 1200 feet per second failed to hit Daniel's form, shunting around him at the last instant.

"Bull spit, Zeemog isn't real."

David argued, producing his boot knife again.

"My God is watching me."

Daniel stood up, a dark purple miasma rolling from his hands.

Quartermaster had switched his shotgun attachment for his grenade launcher.

"Bring him down boy, I'll handle the rest."

Quartermaster watched as David charged Daniel, angling the knife for his heart.

Daniel caught David's arm, wrenching it upwards until bone cracked.

David slammed a fist into Daniel's face, not even paying attention to his now broken arm.

Daniel smiled as he spit blood to the side, taking the next punch with no real effect.

"You must burn."

Daniel forcibly dragged David towards the lava, pretty much ignoring the attempts at punching him out.
