Episode 8: A New Me and Broken Ties
AN: UGH…THANKS TO REAL LIFE AND MY ABILITY TO PROCRASTINATE…IT TOOK FOREVER, BUT ITS HERE JUST IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS! SO ENJOY!
Usagi's POV
Autumn has flown by. Studying in the US and finding new allies is something I certainly never expected would happen when this semester began. Nor did I expect to be much stronger and agile, all while dealing with new youma threats…
FLASHBACK
"Alright, you're doing great Usagi!"
I don't know if dodging rubber cannon shots means I'm doing great!
"How is this supposed to help me!?"
"It's supposed to help you improve your agility and dodging, now less talking, more moving!"
With those training sessions, I began improving in skill, allowing me to prove my worth as we fought more and more youma that appeared in LA over the semester.
We never figured out where the youma came from despite our best efforts during this period.
All we figured out was that the unknown figure that we first met in Sakura's Dojo was unconnected to the youma attacks…rather it seemed that it had its own agenda.
But now…it's time to return home to Japan…and save the world once again…
FLASHBACK END
"Usagi! Come on, or we'll be late for the flight to Japan!" Fabia yelled at me.
Guess its time to go home and face the music…
TIMESKIP
Finally home…Now what to do…
"Well Usagi, I suppose you better be getting home. You have unpacking to do. The rest of us need to find somewhere to stay for the next semester. So we'll see you later." Sakura said.
Oh great… Here we go again…Time to go home and argue with Shingo again.
When I got home, Mom and Dad weren't home, and as I tried to walk inside, I tripped, and fell flat on my face again.
"OWW! NOT AGAIN!"
"Oh, you're finally home Usagi. Looks like they didn't teach you how to not be a klutz."
"Why you…GET BACK HERE!"
Ugh…Some things never change.
Later that night…
"So, now what do we do?"
"Well, normally I'd suggest caution, but the inners must be dealt with. The question is-"
Suddenly, Sakura's communicator began going off.
"One moment."
She stepped off to the side, but whatever was being said, she quickly turned worried. That much we could tell from her tone.
"Alright. We'll be there shortly."
She then turned back to us as she hung up.
"That was Pluto, another youma is attacking. This one is far stronger than the ones before. The scouts are outmatched and need help."
"What about the outers? Can't they help handle it?" Ayame asked.
"That's the problem…The outers are already there. Even with all eight scouts, Chibi Moon and Prince Endymion working together, the youma is taking everything they can throw at it. At the rate things are deteriorating someone, scout or civilian is going to get hurt."
"Let's go then!"
As we left, Sakura pulled me aside.
"Usagi, two things. One, if you want to hide your identity, I suggest yelling Silver Crystal Power. It will hide your identity. Also, bring that box I gave you…you may need it if I'm right about how things will go tonight."
I really hope Sakura is wrong about this…
At the battlefield…
"MOON PRISM ESCALATION!"
"MARS FIRE SNIPER!"
Both attacks nailed the Youma, a massive kraken like creature, but the attacks didn't even seem to faze it.
"Darn it! We're throwing everything we have at this thing and it's not doing any good!"
All of us could see the battle from the rooftop, and it wasn't going well.
"Well, looks like we're going to have to save the day." Hatsu said.
"Let's do this then!"
"SILVER CRYSTAL POWER!"
"NEO-MERCURY POWER!"
"NEO-MARS POWER!"
"NEO-JUPITER POWER!"
"NEO-VENUS POWER!"
"NOVA SHADOW POWER!"
"MAKE UP!"

Pluto's POV
This is not going well…If Nova and others fail to arrive soon, we'll be in serious trouble…
The kraken fired yet another blast, and to my horror, Chibiusa was right in the line of fire. But before it could hit, someone dove in front of it, deflecting it away.
"What in the world!?" Mars yelled. "Who are you!?"
"CRYSTAL!"
"NEO-MERCURY!"
"NEO MARS!"
"NEO JUPITER!"
"NEO-VENUS!"
"And Nova! And in the name of the Moon, We'll Punish you!"
Nova…and just in time with the others.
The Neo Scouts began lashing out at the Kraken with rapid attacks, and thankfully, the attacks were actually doing damage to the beast.
Then, as the beast began moving its tentacles to attack, an attack suddenly slashed one of the beasts tentacles clean off.
"So, she's here again."
Up on the rooftop, another sailor scout was standing, staring at all of us.
"Who are you!?" Neo-Venus yelled. Seems she's more like Mars than Neo-Mars is…
"My name, is Sailor Earth. Defender of this planet. Now, let's end this beast."
Sailor Earth then leaped down, and as she was about to hit, fired at the youma at point-blank.
"Earth Shaking."
The attack was devastating, just as it had been the last few times she had intervened, and shattered the creatures face, exposing it to attack.
"Sailor Crystal. Finish it."
Sailor Crystal then turned into Sailor Moon, much to the surprise of the other scouts.
"MOON CRYSTAL…"
"NOVA DARKNESS…"
"ESCALATION!"
The two attacks flew right into the youma, which writhed for a moment, and then it began to glow as light burst through its skin before it exploded into nothing but dust. Even I was amazed. I knew Usagi was training…but I never realized that she had grown this strong.
But as for Sailor Earth, she had returned to the rooftop she had come from.
"Wait! Sailor Earth, what is your purpose for constantly helping us!?" Mars yelled.
"…Simple. You are weak. You believed that you could succeed without Sailor Moon, and look at where this has gotten you. If not for me, you would have died long ago. Perhaps now you can succeed…assuming you survive the night. Good luck, for you will need it."
I was wondering what she meant by that, but to my horror, I quickly found out as the inners were already laying into Usagi.
"It wasn't bad enough you're a klutz, but you had to go and create poser scouts!?" Mars screamed.
"Seriously!? You couldn't just let us handle things?!"
This is not going to end well…
Usagi's POV
Why do they do this…why do I tolerate it…I brought us together…I've saved the world countless times…and they still continue to berate me…
Something inside me finally snapped. I had taken enough of this. My eyes now began to glow as Princess Serenity took over…
Sakura's POV
As I looked on, I looked on in horror as Usagi's eyes turned from their normal blue and began glowing. Princess Serenity was here…and she was not happy.
"Enough!" The Princess then released an energy burst so powerful it sent forced everyone near her back.
"The powers you were granted were given for a reason. To protect your homeworlds and the Moon from threats. I had hoped that by the time we returned you would have seen the error of your ways. But it seems I was wrong."
"It isn't wrong if-"
"SILENCE. Your powers were given to you. But they can be taken away, and it seems I have little choice but to resort to drastic measures."
The inners now began to cringe in pain before balls of light and energy left them, turning them back into their civilian forms, and their pens were sent into the box, with the energy going into them.
"I can not have my guardians prove this untrustworthy. You have lost the rights to call yourself my guardians."
"You-You can't do this! We're supposed to keep-" Jupiter started, before she, Venus and Mercury fell over, unconscious. More balls of light now entered the box, confusing me. I had never seen this happen…what was going on?
"Enough. You can not continue like this. Your memories are now forfeit as well. Only by truly repenting and making things right, will your powers and memories return."
She turned to Lia.
"As for you. You are correct in the fact young Usagi was never meant to possess the power of the Moon, but you are out of line in turning against me. However, you will be cleansed, for you are not yourself."
Before Lia could react, Princess Serenity fired at her, causing a dark form to leave her before it completely disintegrated. She turned finally to Sailor Mars.
"As for you Mars. I can not tolerate this behavior from you any longer. It is not only unforgivable that you betrayed me, but your relation with Usagi has become toxic to the point you two are becoming more of enemies than allies. As such the odds of you ever regaining your powers is slim to none. However, you will retain your memories, if only so you can see the consequences of your actions and the pain you have caused."
"B-but Princess…"
"Enough. Please…I do not take your powers and the memories of my guardians and Usagi's friends with a light heart…do not make this any harder."
Mars went pale…but rather than arguing, she simply said, "…I understand…I will take my leave…But I have to know…will they remember any of our time together?"
"They will remember being friends with you and Usagi and each other…but they will hold no memories of their time as scouts, nor will they have any idea why the relation between themselves and Usagi is poor. That is the most I am willing to do for them."
"Very well…I failed you Princess…goodbye." Mars then turned and left. I had never seen her so humbled, and certainly never so…depressed.
"It is done. I can only pray that things improve from here…" Usagi's eyes then returned to normal, with her collapsing from the strain on her body.
All of us were solemn, with four of the scouts now without their powers, and Lia having been cleansed of corruption we never even knew she had, things had taken a complete turn in the course of a night.
