The mission should have been standard in all aspect. It was just a regular mission about capturing an outlaw who was infamous for using Attract on any unsuspecting males and robbed them of all their Poke before knocking them out. As such the mission request had adviced to only bring girls on the mission. Luckily Team Elysium main members were both females so they had no problem accepting the request.
The thief in question was a Liepard she was currently weaving throught attacks as Snivy and Zorua tried their best to hit her with Razor Leaves and Dark Pulse attacks. ''Ah! You're not the first Team that was sent to capture me and you won't be the last. So now just be good girls and give me your stuff alright?''
She said before winking at them and materializing pink hearts that sailed toward the duo. Snivy smirked unimpressed. ''Haven't you learned that Attract don't work on Pokémon of the same gender?''
To prove a point she let the pink heart hit her and smirked when it did nothing. Similarly another heart hit Alice the Zorua. The former human seemed unsure as the attack approached her. But then smirked when the heart passed throught her harmlessly. She looked back at the Liepard about to give her another wave of Dark Pulse but then stop in her track as she realised for the first time just how gorgeous the Pokémon in front of her was.
The Liepard smirked at her with her shimmering emerald eyes which sent Alice's heart fluttering in her chest. ''Give me an oran berry, honey.'' She ordered in a sultry tone.
The Zorua flushed and nodded dumbly. ''Y-yes of course, gorgeous.'' She replied before tossing the thief one of their Oran berries.
Snivy stared at her partner incrediously. ''Alice what are you doing?! How was she affected by the Attract?!''
Liepard snickered in response before taking a bite of the berry healing all of her injuries. ''I had a feeling that at least one of you was a lesbian. Look like I was right. Honestly it kind of suprised me it turned out to be the Zorua and not you. You definetly give off the lesbian energy more than her. But beggars can't be choosers I suppose. Now honey attack Snivy!''
Snivy tensed up as she looked toward her partner. Alice opened her mouth and produced an orb of darkness that she threw toward her partner. Snivy was able to dodge the attack but Zorua gave chase and delivered a Scratch attack on Snivy that made the grass type yowl in pain as a wound appear on her chest.
Alice was about to deliver a Dark Pulse attack to finish things off. But the sound of her partner yelling in pain made her freeze on the spot. The darkness she had gathered for her attack immediatly fizzled and died in it's track. ''N-no what have I done?! I won't hurt Snivy anymore you witch!'' Alice screamed snapping out of the Attract and lunging toward the Liepard thief who looked stunned at the development.
After that it wasn't really too long before the duo overwhelmed the outlaw and teleported her back to the base with their badges so that Quagsire could bag her.
Once the thief was gone Snivy took an Oran Berry from their bag and took a bite out of it and looked down to see the scratch on her chest quickly healing. Once she was completely fine she looked back at her partner curiously. ''How did you managed to snap out of the Attract so easily? I heard that most Pokémon have to be knocked out to wear it off and a few can only snap out of it when another emotion can somehow overwhelm the infatuation caused by the move.''
''O-oh, I guess when I heard you yell in pain. The guilt of hurting my best friend was somehow enough to snap out of it, I guess.'' Alice replied shifting her eyes away nervously.
Snivy seemed dubious of her explanation but reluctantly accepted it with a nod.
Once they managed to leave the dungeon behind. Snivy could see that Alice was now acting bashful aroud her and couldn't hold eye contact for more than a second. She had a pretty good guess as to why.
''Hey Alice.'' Snivy started saying softly. Despite that the Zorua flinched and looked back at her nervously.
''Y-yeah?''
''You know I don't care that you're into girls right?'' Snivy said before putting one of her paw on top of the Zorua's head.
''Eep!'' Alice flushed red at the contact and looked away embarassed. ''I-it's just I knew for a while I was into girls. But I never expected to be attracted to Pokémon girls too. That Attract really made me reconsider a lot of things I suppose. In that moment it was like that Liepard was the prettiest girl I've ever seen.''
For some reason she could not explain Snivy felt a stab of jealousy at her best friend's words. But then she shook it off. Her friend found another Pokémon attractive, so what? It's not like it was any of her business. And it wasn't like she was even interested in girls anyway!...Okay sometime she could admit she found some girls kind of hot but that was normal right? She was totally straight...Totally.
Alice looked down at the ground and frown before looking back at Snivy uncertainly. ''A-are you sure you're alright with me...being gay?'' She asked snapping Snivy out of her internal panic.
Snivy crossed her arms and looked almost offended at the question. ''Of course! After everything we've been throught together. You really think the fact you like Cloyster instead of Onix would change anything?''
Alice looked at her wondering what she meant by those two Pokémon. When she finally got it her face burned bright red like a neon light. ''Eep! Did you really have to put it like that?!''
For her part Snivy could snicker at her best friend embarassment.
After a while they continued to walk back home in silence. But then Alice spoke up. ''...Back in the human world it came out that I was a lesbian at school. After that it was like a switch had been flipped almost every girls at school avoided me. Even the few friends I had back then seemed afraid I would hit on them as if I would pounce on any girls I could set my sight on...It made me feel like I should be ashamed of what I am. Even if my parents tried to reassure me there was nothing wrong with me.''
Snivy frowned and she clenched her fist. ''Sound like humans can be just as stupid as Pokémon then. I remember back when I was at school we had a Buizel kid who happened to be shiny and the other kids would always pick on him and yell slurs at him. I got in trouble more than a few times when I decided to intervene and threw a few punches at the assholes. Then one day he disappeared after his parents died in an accident. I never heard from him again. I hope he's been doing alright.''
They stopped when they arrived right in front of their home and Alice looked bact at Snivy with a small grin. ''Somehow learning that you used to pick fights at school doesn't surprise me in the slightest.''
''Hey! What's that supposed to mean?!'' Snivy yelled at Alice as the Zorua ran away back inside their base giggling. Snivy gave chase intending to give the dark fox a piece of her mind.
Alice could only smile as she evaded the pillow Snivy threw at her once they were both inside. She wasn't ready to admit as to why she had been able to snap out of the Attract so easily. But her best friend had accepted her for who she is and for now that was more than enough.
AN: So for all other couples I'm sticking with Pokémon who are available as starters within their respective games. But I decided to make an exception for Gates to Infinity. The low amount of starters choice was my biggest dissapointment with the game and Zorua was one of the choice I think would have been really great as a starter for GtI. So I decided to include Zorua as the protagonist.
