Ninja Wizard V 14
"Aftermath"
Harry dozed in the chair he was sitting in next to Hermione's bed. His senses were alert and keeping a watch over the floor they were on. The Grangers, Dan and Emma, were on the way the last he heard as he settled down in the chair he was in once Hermione had been settled in the room fifteen minutes ago. McGonagall had volunteered to go and get them, Pomona Sprout accompanying her. The others crowded into a waiting room waiting to hear about Hermione. They had been told of Hermione's injuries and what Harry had done to help her.
"That's all I know," Neville concluded his narrative as Shacklebolt, Tonks, Dumbledore, and Amelia had cornered Neville for his interview, his Gran standing behind him.
The Dame Longbottom was extremely pleased that Neville had gone up against the LeStranges and had gotten in some really good shots, not defeating them, but having survived the encounter. Amelia Bones was concerned about Harry having thrown Dolohov through the veil and planned on talking to him later. Sirius had been more than pleased about it as it meant one of Voldemort's best fighters had been taken out of the game. Dumbledore had been very put out about it believing the man could have been reformed. As he had aired his opinions so many times before he had decided to keep silent about Harry's actions, deciding to speak to Harry at a later date about it. He knew that a majority of the people in the room shared the opinion that a dead DE was a good one and having had a number of arguments with them over the issues of not killing them and offering them chances to reform. He knew that a majority of the people there had disagreed with him. As he no longer held any kind of power in the Wizarding World, his opinions no longer meant anything. Heads turned as the door opened and Hermione's parents were led in. Dumbledore knew right then that now was not the time to approach them as they were besides themselves. They were led right into the room. Harry woke up to see them approach Hermione's bed. He stood up and approached them and Dan turned to him.
"Thank you for helping her," he said.
Harry nodded to him, a serious look on his face. "I had to. She means the world to me, to you, to us."
Emma nodded as she reached out and gently touched Hermione's face. Dan nodded to Harry as he left the room. Hermione needed her parents right then.
People in the room turned to see Harry standing there. Harry sighed and rubbed his face and reached for a cup of coffee. "She's resting right now. The blood transfusion I gave her worked as our blood type is compatible. It will be a few hours before she wakes up. Please give her parents the space they need to be in there with her."
"Harry," Dumbledore spoke up as he approached Harry. "I wish to talk to you in private."
Amelia and Sirius immediately reacted. "No Albus. You no longer have the right to know anything. Your need to know has ended. You need to leave now."
They glared at Dumbledore and he nodded. "Very well then."
They turned back to Harry as Dumbledore left. Harry nodded and joined them in another corner and gave them his version of the events, going as far as telling them of his encounter with Umbridge. He provided copies of his memories of the event from start to finish.
"Thank you Harry," Amelia Bones said. "I will be going after Umbridge first chance I get."
Sirius noted the look in Harry's eyes as he squeezed his right shoulder. "Hermione and her parents need you right now. Let me and the DMLE take her down."
Harry nodded to Sirius and joined his friends in the other side of the room. He wondered when Molly Weasley would be showing up knowing full well she'd be steaming mad. Harry was not looking forward to that discussion as Molly had made her opinions of Harry and the other kids getting involved in the war very well known. He knew for sure that she would be taking him to task over this new situation. He closed his eyes as his senses informed him that Molly had arrived and was beyond angry. He stood up and stepped out into the hall to wait for her. The moment the elevator opened and she saw him, she went straight for him. Harry turned and stepped into an empty room to wait for her. The moment she stormed in there Harry had raised privacy wards to keep people from hearing her. He knew he would be able to hear her just fine as she could shout. He let her run herself out before being able to tell her his side of things knowing full well she would blame him for all of it and possibly telling him to stay away from them. Once she got done telling him to stay away from her kids she stormed out to find the other Weasley kids. Arthur sighed and nodded to Harry and squeezed his shoulder. Harry knew he had his respect and decided to stay clear of the Weasleys for a few days. Harry went back to Hermione, passing through the waiting room where Molly was verbally lashing out at Ron and Ginny. He closed the door and turned to look at Dan.
"No change," he said. "I wish she would be quiet, talk to them someplace else. This is not the time or place to yell like that."
Harry slightly smiled. "The only person to get through to her is Arthur."
Dan turned back to look at Hermione. "We can't and won't blame you because we know full well she is a headstrong person and will do what she can to back you."
Harry nodded. "I tossed his butt through what is called the Veil."
Harry explained what it was and both of them nodded to Harry.
"As far as I know nobody has ever come back from within it," he said as Dan shook his head.
Emma turned to Harry. "You saved Hermione. We owe you for that."
Harry sighed and shook his head. He had expected to be banned from seeing her but they hadn't.
"Stay as long as you need to," Harry said. "She is going to make it. She's a strong person."
Harry turned and headed back into the waiting room to find a lot of the people gone. It was just Mad Eye Moody and Tonks now.
"Dumbledore's called a meeting," she whispered into his ear. "I'll let you know what he says."
Harry nodded. "I'm headed home to shower and change, and then I'll be back."
Sirius joined Harry at the elevator. They ported out of the elevator and went to Potter House. Sirius made himself a drink at the bar in the corner as Harry went up to the master bedroom. He took his time in the shower and changed clothes. When he came down he found Sirius in the kitchen having a sandwich. Harry made one for himself.
"So what now kid?" Sirius asked.
Harry cracked his neck muscles. "Now we wait to see what the Dark Dork does next. I have the feeling that things are going to change drastically now. We need to be ready."
"Keith is stocking up on things at the Doghouse. He thinks that last night's event is just the beginning of stuff really flying," Sirius said.
Harry nodded. "Play time's over, and he's gonna be out for blood now. Way I see it we will have two big jobs. One is to stop his ugly butt and the other is to get as many innocents out of Britain as we can. I'm not sure Fudge is going to be useful anymore."
"He won't," Sirius growled. "Voldemort killed him in front of a lot of witnesses in the building."
Harry put his head down. "There goes the neighborhood."
Harry had no idea just how true that was going to be.
!2 Grimmauld Place, England
Albus Dumbledore leaned back in his chair after hearing what Snape had to say and rubbed his tired eyes. Last night's event were troubling.
"So Lucius Malfoy somehow dropped the orb and it blew up?" Dumbledore asked Snape.
Snape nodded. "Two DE's were in front of the Dark Lord when it happened. They protected the Dark Lord with their bodies, giving him the chance to apparate out. About twenty five of them were killed including Lucius while the rest were seriously injured. I do not know where he has gone."
Dumbledore leaned back in his chair and picked up his cup of tea. "I believe that the orb had been turned into some kind of explosive. Harry must have the real one and somehow created a dummy one to explode if they tried to get the prophecy from it."
"As much as I hate the brat I have to commend him for having done it. Too bad he didn't take out the Dark Lord. Would have ended the threat," Snape snarled.
Dumbledore sighed as he shook his head. "Harry must be brought to heel and placed back under my control as he is getting out of hand. This is not how one reforms people."
Snape did not say anything as he knew Dumbledore was playing straight into Voldemort's hands by being too soft. One knew that in order to stop the enemy one must fight and fight hard to overcome the enemy, not letting the enemy walk all over them by being too forgiving. Snape was becoming more and more convinced that the Dark Lord was right about Dumbledore. He had stopped playing Dumbledore's games by giving the old man disinformation and telling Dumbledore what he knew the old man wanted to hear. His master would be so pleased.
"I must go as Voldemort has called a meeting for this evening," Snape said, standing up.
Dumbledore nodded. "Be very careful Severus. No telling what he might do."
Snape nodded and with a quick turn headed to the door and left. Dumbledore sipped the rest of his tea as he considered his next moves. Things were sliding out of his control.
The Ministry of Magic, London
Dolores Umbridge was having a great day. Her plans for taking control of Magical England was working out better than she hoped now that the incompetent Minister Fudge was out of the way. She just had to pretend for the next few days that she was in mourning for the man and needed to manipulate just a few more people so the vote would go her way and she would step in and become Minister. Then she would be able to control things her way and get rid of what she thought were undesirables. Topping that list was Harry Potter. She saw him as an absolute threat to her glorious reign over Magical England. Voldemort wanted him dead so she planned on delivering him up dead to him and reap all the glory. Sometimes people should really be very careful in what they wish for because life had a very nasty way of teaching people like her a nasty lesson. Umbridge let herself into the Minister's Office and looked around. She removed a bit of paper that would have incriminated her badly including all of the evidence that had been filed against her due to her actions at Hogwarts. She had made sure that Fudge's signature was properly in place on the documents that directed people to destroy the evidence and witness statements against her before Fudge fell to Voldemort. She even made sure to get him to sign an order making her the next Minister, something she would make sure would be found by Bones. Then she would reward Bones by making sure she had an "accident". She put it in place in a drawer where it would be very noticeable before slipping out of the office. She stood there for a few minutes and then turned to find Bones and two Aurors standing there.
"Oh my!" she piped up. "You surprised me!"
Bones frowned. She was sure Umbridge was up to something. She held up a piece of parchment. "The Wizengamot has directed me to search the Minister's Office for anything suspicious."
Umbridge nodded and turned to the door. "The door is locked. I am unable to get in."
Amelia Bones waved her wand at the door. "Good. Then nobody has been inside."
There was a click and the door opened. Umbridge followed Bones in followed by the two men. She went over to the small plant in the corner.
"I gave this to Cornelius for his birthday as I believed his office could use a bit of brightening up," Umbridge told Bones, getting a bit emotional. "I never liked the grey walls in here, but it was what he wanted even though I tried to get him to change the color."
Bones nodded as she turned to the men with her. "Right. You two know what to do."
"May I take this with me?" Umbridge asked in a small voice, unshed tears glistening in her eyes.
Bones nodded. "Yes. It will need a new home."
Umbridge walked out of the office with a tiny smile on her lips.
Potter House, unknown location
Harry sat behind his desk and pulled out the mail from the Gringotts mail box and started going through it. The usual statements, a letter from Ragnock, and a letter from his adoptive parents. He read that first and they were concerned by the recent events. He set the letter down and stared out the glass sliding doors into the pool area and let his thoughts wander. Harry knew that he was going to have to close up the house at some point and go to ground if what he suspected would happen happened. He growled at that and turned back to his desk. He would have to plan a way to get the supplies and other things he would need so he could take the war to the DE's and the Dark Dork. He knew that he needed to find the horcruxes and destroy them all. He had gotten two of them already, the one inside his scar when he was very little and the diary. If there was two of them there had to be more. He needed to talk to Sirius first chance he got. For now he needed to get back to the school. But he was going to stop and look in on Hermione first. He stood up and went into the secure room where the floo was. Constantine appeared and Harry turned to him. "Right. Button up the place tight. I'm headed out to the hospital to see Hermione first and then back to Hogwarts. I have no idea what's going to happen next as things are very volatile right now. Take care."
"And you, Lord Potter," the ghostly boy said.
Harry nodded and went through the floo to St. Mungo's. He nodded to the witch at the desk in front of him and she nodded back. Tonks had told him at one time or another that she was retired from the Aurors and did double duty at the desk as the welcome witch and the front line security. Nobody got past her. Harry headed upstairs to Hermione's private room and found her parents there along with Moody. Harry had his doubts about the man due to the fact that he was way too close to Dumbledore. Moody nodded to him and then Harry turned back to her parents.
"The healers here think she may wake up at any time," Dan said. "Her progress is very good right now. They think she may have a faint scar."
Harry sighed. "That's good. I was hoping that would be the case. I've been in contact with the Goblins at Gringotts. I've asked them to do up a complete ward scheme at your house and dentist office for your protection and it will not cost you anything."
"Good of you Potter," Moody spoke up from his place. "Them little buggers have the best spell crafters and warders in the Wizarding World. Once they protect your place it would take a lot of effort to break through those protections."
Emma turned to Moody. "And you know this because?"
Moody grinned at her. "They've hired me to try and break on through to the other side. Couldn't do it. You're getting the complete package. Magical and muggle fire protection, theft, vandalism, destruction of property, infestation of any kind of vermin from four legged rat to the two legged kind especially the DE's, and a lot more. Potter, I'd suggest giving them portkeys they can wear on a daily basis that will take them to a safe place that you designate so they can get out at the first sign of trouble."
Harry nodded. "Good idea. I'll do that."
Moody leaned forward. "For the record and before Emma and Dan as witness, I'm on your side, Potter. I am not comfortable with what Dumbledore wants with you. My interpretation of Dumbledore's words and actions against you is that he wants you under his complete control. He doesn't want you away from him, he wants you to be completely dependent on him, and he doesn't want you to be Lord Potter. Why that is only he knows. I'm making an effort to contain him as he is causing way too many problems with his very liberal attitude against the DE's. One does not forgive a DE for doing a crime and expecting that one to have remorse for what he or she just did and he damn well knows that will never happen."
"A good DE is a dead one," Dan said.
"Exactly. My position on that. But he's disabled the Aurors by making it illegal for Aurors to use the Unforgivables against them. You fight fire with fire," Moody said. "I've been working closely with Sirius information wise to help him out and that's between us."
"Welcome to the side of the Angels," Harry grinned.
Moody grinned back. "Thanks kid. Real nice of ya to get rid of that scuzzball. Nearly all of the Aurors want to thank you for that."
Dan sighed. "Just wish Harry let me have some words with him first."
Moody chuckled at that.
It was decided to let Hermione go home early as Hogwarts was now breaking for the summer. Harry gathered up Hermione's things with the help of Ginny. Harry sat with Ron on the couch in the Gryffindor's common room waiting for Ginny to come down with Hermione's trunk and Crookshanks.
"Mum's pissed," Ron stated. "She said we should have let Dumbledore deal with it."
Harry sighed. "You know how he would have handled it."
Ron giggled at that. "We must forgive them for wanting to steal. We must give them a chance to be remorseful and change their ways. Everybody knows that the DE's will never change because they enjoy doing crap and getting away with it knowing that they will get a slap on the wrist."
"Not going to happen now that Dumbledore's out," Harry said.
Ron sighed. "Well Mum doesn't want anything to do with you anymore. All of us are forbidden to talk to you anymore."
Harry nodded as he had the feeling she was going to do that. "Is she stopping you from talking to Hermione, Sirius, Keith, or Remus?"
"Said nothing about them," Ron grinned at Harry. "So all of us will send our notes to you through them. She doesn't need to know that."
"Good. I'll keep in touch with everybody in our crew and they can pass on information to you. Ron, now that he's back I've been getting the feeling that Hogwarts is going to come under attack sooner or later. Your assignment, if you so choose to accept it, is to create some kind of defense for Hogwarts. I know you're good at strategy from playing numerous games of Wizard's Chess with you. You have a way of plotting moves four, five, six steps ahead of me. Do everything you can to protect Hogwarts. Get with McGonagall and find out just what kind of defenses the castle has and work with it. Go nuts. Plant landmines to take out the Giants. Mine the bridges. Do anything that will help us. I really do feel that the final battle against the Dark Tosser will be right there," Harry said.
Ron nodded. "Can I use the Chamber of Secrets for a base?"
"Yes," Harry said, perking up. "Great idea. Get as many supplies you can for the place from food to medical supplies. Learn the stasis charm to preserve the food supply. Bunks for people. Separate quarters for guys and gals. Grab anything and everything you can that might be useful to the absolute needed. Get help from everybody in the crew. I'll do what I can too."
Ron grinned. "Done."
Ginny walked down to where Harry was and handed him Hermione's trunk and Crookshank's carrier.
"Thanks Ginny. Hermione will be happy to have her stuff back," Harry said.
She nodded to Harry. "Can you find out if we can visit?"
"I'll do that," Harry said as he took everything from her. "Ron has an assignment from me that he's going to need help with."
Ginny smiled at that as the Twins walked up behind her. "We'll be glad to help. Give Hermione our love and best wishes."
"I will," Harry said as he disappeared through the Gryffindor common room floo.
Ron turned to his sister and brothers. "We've got a job to do. Wanna help?"
The only response he got was giggles from the Twins.
Ron nodded to that. "Good. One last thing. We send all of our notes to Harry through Sirius, Remus, Keith, and Hermione."
The twins and Ginny nodded to that.
Granger House
Harry stepped in through the glass sliding doors once the wards had recognized him when he apparated into the backyard. He carried everything up to Hermione's room and let the cat out of his carrier. The cat meowed in pleasure as he stretched out. Harry grinned at that and took care of his food and water bowls. He sat at the dining room table with a tall glass of ice water and let him mind wander for a bit. His first thought was about who would take over as Minister. He had the feeling that Umbridge had set herself up to be minister, using Imperio to get Fudge to declare her his successor. If that was the case, then it was time for him to lay plans to go to ground and observe things for a time. Harry knew the first thing Umbridge would do would to be to solidify her position in the Ministry by making sure there would be absolutely no way anyone could oppose her, including Harry and Dumbledore. Harry knew he was in for a very busy summer. Beyond that, he just didn't know. He sighed as he put the now empty glass in the kitchen sink and walked back out into the backyard closing the sliding glass door behind him. He apparated to the St. Mungos apparation point and went up to Hermione's room. She was sleeping and her parents were there sitting by the window talking quietly.
"Hermione's things and Crookshanks are back at the house," Harry told them. "The cat seemed mighty pleased to be home."
Dan smiled at that. "Good. I sometimes wonder about that cat."
"You and me both," Harry chuckled. "Have the healers been in yet?"
Emma nodded. "They have, and they say she's improving a lot. There's a possibility that she may go home end of the week."
Harry grinned at that. "Mighty good news."
All three of them sighed in relief. Harry leaned over Hermione and kissed her on the forehead and she sighed as she moved her head towards him. Harry expected her to wake up right then but she didn't.
"They did give her stuff to sleep," Dan said.
Harry nodded. "Good. Sleep is healing."
"Exactly what I think," Emma said.
Dan turned to him. "Is it true that Molly has told her kids to never talk to you?"
Harry sighed as he nodded yes.
"Well I told Ron if they need to get a hold of you that they could send messages to Emma and I," Dan said. "The both of us want to help in any way we can."
Harry smiled. "Thanks. I appreciate that as I have the feeling that things are going to change very drastically this next school year."
Even as Harry said that he knew it to be true as something deep inside of him told him so. Harry knew he needed to come up with an emergency plan. He decided to get together with Sirius, Remus, and Keith and propose a plan or two.
"I gotta go," Harry said and Dan nodded.
Emma gave him a hug and then Harry left the hospital.
Harry sat at the table at the safe house with Remus and Sirius sipping a cup of coffee as his mind worked on things.
"You know full well Sirius that the first thing that happens is that either you will be dismissed or killed on the spot," Harry said. I would suggest to you that you write your resignation letter and leave the date off it to the very last second and then send it in when the storm breaks," Harry said.
"You're sure Umbridge is going to take over," Sirius said.
Keith blew a couple of smoke rings before replying. "DE chat rooms are full of the talk that a DE planted into the Ministry will be taking over. Nobody knows who it's going to be."
Remus leaned back with his mug of tea, his mind working on the puzzle. "My money says Umbridge for sure. She knows way too much about the higher ups at the Ministry and she knows who to approach on the Wizengamot. If it isn't Lucy, it will be her."
Keith sipped some coffee. "The DE chat rooms are throwing around three names and Umbridge and Lucy is two of them. A third is some guy named Thicknesse."
Sirius sat up. "I've been investigating that guy for some time now. I've found a little bit of dirt on him, not enough to tell Bones about him, but enough to know if there's a bit, there's going to be a lot more."
"Would be nice if we could connect him to the DE's," Harry stated.
Sirius sighed. "Will take a bit of work to make that happen."
"I want to give Dan and Emma wearable portkeys to here in the event they need to run as I believe they will be targets to get to me," Harry said.
Sirius grinned and Remus smiled at that. "Easy. We turn their watches into portkeys."
"That would be cool," Keith said. "I can start setting up the open bedrooms for people."
Harry nodded. "Get me a list of what we would need. I'm thinking they could come here first and then onto Potter House. I got more than enough room. This place we can sacrifice if necessary."
"Then I need to setup a room over there," Keith said.
Harry nodded. "I do have a dish service over there that has high speed Internet. It wasn't that hard to install it myself. There's at least several ports Keith can tap into to wire up the rest of the house. One of those ports has his name on it for his setup."
Keith beamed brightly. "Thanks mate."
"Good. Give me a list of what you need and I'll have it all in a room for you to put together," Harry stated. "Money is no problem."
Keith looked like Christmas had come early for him as he got busy writing stuff down.
"I'll have to update the access list with Constantine," Harry nodded as he added things to a list. "Ragnock and his crew of warders have Potter House under all kinds of security spells that's going to make it so very difficult for anyone to get in."
"If the DE's do find this place, I want to leave surprises for them," Sirius said.
Keith looked up and smiled. "I got a few ideas. I'm setting up a program on the computers to completely destroy themselves in the event of an incursion. All I have to do it initiate them before leaving here."
Sirius was looking at the walls and then turned to Harry. "Do you know what anti-personnel mines are?"
Remus smiled brightly. "Mr. Moony likes Mr. Padfoot's devious mind."
Keith laughed out loud at that. "I love listening to these two. They are constantly coming up with very creative ways to booby trap stuff."
"Aren't they explosives that throw tiny steel balls under extreme pressure in a given area?" Harry asked the grinning Marauders.
Keith grinned. "They are. Very deadly. Glue them to the walls at chest height and disillusion them so the DE's can't see them. Bye-bye."
"Can you find any for us?" Sirius asked.
Keith grinned as he stood up from the table. "How many are you gonna need?"
"As many as possible," Harry said.
Keith headed off into his computer room whistling merrily as the three laughed.
Harry returned to Hogwarts for the last two weeks. He sighed as people gave him a wide berth. His crew stayed close to him and the one place they felt safe was the Chamber of Secrets. Harry had introduced all of them to Sal and informed them that their mission was to harden Hogwarts in the event that things went really bad. Sal began to teach them things that they needed to know for what he knew would be the upcoming battle for Hogwarts. The Ministry may fall, but Hogwarts was the center of the British Wizarding World. If Hogwarts was to stand the wizarding world would survive. That's what it all came down to and Harry was determined to make sure the Wizarding world survived Voldemort. Harry was glad for one thing and that the Umbitch was gone. Draco looked like the light had gone out for him and he snarled at Harry every chance he got. Harry smiled brightly at him as he walked past the ferret. End of year exams took place as usual and Harry approached the examiners as they sat with McGonagall at the high table.
"Mr. Potter," McGonagall acknowledged him.
Harry inclined his head to all of them. "Good morning. I am here on behalf of Miss Hermione Granger who is now at home with her parents to lobby on her behalf that all of you give her an opportunity at the end of year exams."
McGonagall set her cup of tea down and nodded. A very old man nodded and looked up at Harry.
"Mr. Potter, we are ever so pleased to meet you. Your reputation precedes you. As for your request, we will give her that opportunity to take her end of year exams. We have sent a message to her through Headmistress McGonagall to her parents asking that we be allowed to come to her house and administer the end of year exams. We are waiting for the answer," the old man said.
"May I know your name sir?" Harry asked respectfully.
"Professor Tofty," he said. "Forgive me for not having introduced myself."
Harry smiled and inclined his head. "It's forgiven sir. You simply have too much on your mind at the moment, very understandable."
Tofty beamed. "Thank you young man. I look forward to seeing your results."
Harry smiled as he headed back to his place at his house table.
"What was that about, Potter?" someone asked.
Harry leaned forward. "Making sure Hermione has a chance at the end of year exams. I'd do it for any of you."
People nodded and went back to their breakfasts. Harry's mind drifted to Hermione and hoped she was getting better. He'd drop in on her later in the evening to see her. He sent off a quick note to Dan. It was during lunch that he got a reply back.
"Not a good time, Harry. She is in the middle of her end of year exams. A Professor Tofty informed us that you had approached them and asked them to give Hermione a chance at her end of year exams. Emma and I agreed to it provided she does not push herself into trying to do all of them in one day, and she would, given the chance to. It had been decided one in the morning and one in the mid afternoon to give her a chance to rest in between and she appreciates your asking the school to give her the tests. Emma and I are very impressed by her practical skills and the three of us love you for standing up for her. I'll let you know when it's safe to come round. Good luck Dan," Harry read the note in the chamber to everybody during a meeting.
"Good of you lad," Sal approved.
The others cheered Harry for having done it.
"So what's the big plan for this summer?" Ron asked a moment later.
Harry sighed. "I make war on the DE's as I usually do. I'd like Fred and George to work on making items that can be used to help the Order of the Phoenix. Small things that can be carried in pockets and deployed in seconds."
Fred and George perked up immediately with big bright smiles.
"Now that's scary," Neville remarked, pointing to the twins.
That got a laugh and even Sal smiled at that.
"We do have a few things," George began as the laughter died down and opened a box nearby to reveal round colored balls.
Fred reached in and pulled a few of them out. "This black ball is something our great and awesome ninja wizard should never be without."
Harry took it from Fred. "What does it do? Strip a DE bare ass naked in seconds?"
That got another round of laugher as Fred and George looked at each other with big eyes.
"Thank you for that brilliant idea, Harry!" George exclaimed. "No, this little black ball when crushed in your hand will created instant darkness allowing you to leave the room without a trace. You did tell us once that you had been taught to never let the enemy see you leave. Using your ability to apparate plus this little black ball will scare the crap out of them."
"I don't change DE diapers," Harry said.
That got another big laugh.
"The red ball is glue. It will release enough glue that hardens in seconds to hold the DE's in place. Naturally we give the Aurors the counter to them," Fred said.
"The white one is an upgraded flash bang. Bright enough light for them to see the inside of their eyes, loud enough sound to test their hearing," George stated.
"The blue ball creates an instant flood. Guaranteed to wash away the dirt the DE's track in including them as well," Fred grinned.
Harry retrieved his hip bag and loaded it up with a lot of the colored balls. "I'll give you a report when I'm able to. If you guys can create a grenade one that will help too."
"We have four of them on the drawing board now," George said.
Harry smiled at them. "Thanks guys. Pass it on to the others to stay alert this summer."
The meeting ended and everybody headed topside by various means.
Harry came out into the hall where the History of Magic class was held. He suddenly got a very bad feeling about the main classroom in front of it. He approached it with his wand drawn. He saw McGonagall and Snape coming out of the hallway from the other direction and he pointed to the door. Snape may not have liked Harry, but he was no fool. If Harry had his wand out and was pointing to the door, there was danger. He moved in front of McGonagall and dropped his cape onto the floor. Both of them approached the door from opposite directions and got ready. Snape yanked the door open and Harry went in first, going to the right. Snape followed him in going to the left. The noise was coming from the office area. Harry, Snape, and McGonagall went towards the office just as the door popped open and Dumbledore stumbled through it. He looked up to the three of them while holding what was his right hand in front of him. Snape stowed his wand and raced over to Dumbledore as Harry turned to the fireplace and threw a bit of floo powder into it as Snape dragged Dumbledore towards the fireplace.
"Hogwarts Hospital Wing!" Harry called out as he jumped out of the way.
The flames turned green as Snape went into the fire carrying Dumbledore. Harry observed McGonagall bending over something on the floor. The moment he looked at it he felt the darkness coming from it.
"No!" he yelled just as McGonagall went to pick it up. "It's got Voldemort in it!"
McGonagall leaped backwards, turning to Harry. "How do you know that?"
"I could feel it," Harry said. "It's got to be a Horcrux."
Harry spotted a small box and called it to him and then levitated what looked like a ring into the box.
"We need to get it into a lockup so nobody gets it," McGonagall said.
Harry followed her to the headmistress's office where he watched her open a secure safe to deposit it into it and closed it.
"Nobody but me can get into it. Now let's go see Dumbledore," McGonagall said.
Harry followed her to the hospital wing and stood back as Snape and Pomphery worked on Dumbledore doing what they could before stepping back fifteen minutes later.
"Poppy, is he…" McGonagall began.
Pomphery stepped back. "No. He's barely hanging on at the moment. Severus was able to identify what it was and we managed to stop it for the moment."
"Thank you Severus," McGonagall said, turning to him. "For being there when we needed you."
Snape nodded. "Indeed. Potter was useful as he knew we needed to get him here immediately."
Snape stalked out of the Hospital wing and left everybody there. Harry turned to the medi-witch.
"Are you able to help him in the long term?" Harry asked her.
She thought for a moment. "No. I am going to need help from St. Mungo's for this as this is something I have no experience with. Excuse me."
Harry watched her go to the fireplace and make the call for help. Within moments six healers stepped out and went to work on Dumbledore.
"We need to move him as he is stable for the moment," one of them said to McGonagall.
She nodded. "Good luck."
Harry and McGonagall watched as they levitated Dumbledore through the fireplace directly to St. Mungo's. McGonagall followed them through.
