Welcome back, everyone! The new Chapter is out. There will be a few time jumps in this chapter, but not too far ahead, mostly one or two months, maybe one year, but only once; I am still deciding and will think about it while I'm writing!

Anonymous review: I'm glad you like it. Yeah, I know that killing children is not great, and it was only this one time to show that they were working without mercy to anyone. I hope you can understand that. I don't know if Hiccup will enslave Astrid or something like that; maybe he will, but he won't be nice to her.

Anyway, ENJOY!

Chapter 10

It was now three weeks after Hiccup and Toothless destroyed the village and gathered some more dragons. In these weeks, they got more dragons to follow them, increasing their number to 58. They had 14 Gronckles, 12 Nadders, 9 Zipplebacks, 10 Monstrous Nightmares, and 5 Rumblehorns. They discovered the Rumblehorn dragon nearly two weeks ago, and after they fought about four, they decided that they should '"recruit" some. They tried to recruit 12, but only five were bowing down. The last days were spent making arrows for himself and a new weapon. A crossbow. He also upgraded his armor and put some chainmail out of the new metal called 'Shadow Steel.' Now combined with the mixture of Toothless scales, he could almost withstand any blow, as tested by Toothless, who smacked him with his tail; hard. Hiccup also covered Toothless's fin with the scales to fireproof it and make it more resistant to nets or bolas.

Hiccup is standing at the cave entrance in full armor, but his helmet is under his left arm. Toothless comes up beside him.

"So the dragons have spotted a small convoy of ships, as I heard?" Toothless asked. Hiccup looked over at him, "Yeah, three ships, most likely traders. We will go out and loot them all, then destroy two and leave one as a survivor. We need some new supplies since someone has been eating a lot of fish lately." he said while looking at Toothless with an accusing look at the last part. "What? Are you saying I'm fat? I'll have you know, I'm a big dragon, and fish is tasty." the dragon grumbled. Hiccup shook his head with a slight chuckle.

"Anyway, we need to get going.", Hiccup said as he saw 2 Nadders and 1 Rumblehorn land before him. The dragons gave a bow in greeting and looked back up at him. Hiccup jumps in the saddle and looks at them, "You will follow us and give cover. You won't attack until I say so." The dragons nodded, "Yes, my lord." With that, they all headed toward the ships with Hiccup in the lead.

(10 minutes later)

They reached the convoy in about ten minutes and started circling above them to observe them for a minute. Turning to the dragons, he commands, "We're going down. Stay up here till I call you in." Without waiting for a reply, they shot down, creating the famous Nightfury whistle.

The sailors on the ships looked up before one yelled, "Get down!". They threw themselves on the floor, waiting for the attack. After 30 seconds of nothing happening, one stood up and looked around, only to freeze in fear, seeing the black dragon standing on his ship. Slowly reaching for his axe, he gets stopped by a voice from the back of the beast, "If you do that, I'll promise you a slow and agonizing death."

Hearing this conversation, the other traders got up and gasped at the sight before them. On the middle ship stood a beast like no one's ever seen, and atop said beast, a figure in black armor. They knew who he was and what he could do as his name entered everyone's mind, 'Death Angel'.

Hiccup had to smirk, seeing the fear that came across their faces. He jumped down and spoke with a cold tone. "You will give me what I tell you to give me, or I kill every one of you. If any of you try to cross me, please try; I haven't had blood on my blade for a few days now." The traders wholeheartedly agreed, not wanting to get killed, and brought Hiccup everything he told them. After everything was packed, Hiccup gave a short whistle, and the three dragons from before came down and picked up the bags.

Jumping on Toothless's back again, he shot without glancing back. The traders all let out a sigh of relief. After a minute of flying, Hiccup and Toothless turned around and headed for the ships again. Creating the whistle again, he shot the boat on the left, making it go up in flames instantly, killing the trader. After a few seconds, a second shot hit the ship on the right, making it explode as the plasma blast buried itself deep into the hull before exploding.

The last trader looked up, fearing the worst, seeing a blade approaching him. The sword cut him across the left eye, blinding him but not fatal. With their work done, they headed home.

(Death's Lair)

Hiccup and Toothless glided into the cave with a soft landing. They first saw the bags from the ships neatly stacked at the back of the room. Satisfied that the dragons had done their job, he walked to the fire pit and started a fire. Walking to the fish baskets, he got one full basket for his brother and grabbed two fish for himself.

After placing the fish above the fire, he poured out the fish for Toothless, who happily started eating. While eating, Hiccup was lost in thought. Toothless, who noticed it, nudged him slightly on the shoulder, making Hiccup look at the dragon, "What are you thinking about?"

Hiccup sighed but explained, "I was thinking about what to do with the queen. If we defeated her, we would have hundreds of dragons following us. That would make it easier to build ourselves, an army of humans." Toothless thought about it for a few minutes while they sat in silence until one question came up in Hiccup's mind, "Hey bud if a dragon swallows the gas, the one they would use to breathe fire when it ignites, what would happen?"

"It would injure it a lot since our organs are not so resistant to fire. Why do you ask?" he answered uncertainly, not knowing what Hiccup was thinking about.

Hiccup smirked as he got up and walked toward his bed, "Get some good sleep. We have a big day tomorrow." Toothless followed, unsure if Hiccup was genius or just insane.

(The following day)

Hiccup and Toothless were up early and sitting around the fire pit when Hiccup turned to his brother, "Here's what could work if we go to Helheim's Gate and intercept the dragons sent out by the queen. If we kill some of them, she will surely notice and get angry, maybe even angry enough to leave her nest. When that happens, we can attack her from all directions."

Toothless looks at him, "Let's say this works. What will you do if it's not enough?" Hiccup smiled, "Don't worry, I got a backup plan." "Alright, brother, I trust you." the dragon said, nudging him slightly.

With that, Hiccup put on his helmet and saddled Toothless. The other dragons were looking at them, wondering what was going on. Toothless growled at them, "You will stay here till we return. If we're not back after two days, fly to Helheim Gates." The dragons nodded, fearing they would still haunt them even if they died.

In the blink of an eye, they were gone like the wind.

(12 hours later)

They reached the fog of Helheimsgate about thirty minutes ago and were waiting outside for a raid group to emerge. Just as they were about to stay on a different side of the fog, they saw a flock of dragons going west.

Hiccup realized something. He knew where they were going. Berk.

He patted Toothless's head, "Alright, brother, they're going to Berk. When we arrive, we will destroy their defenses, and after that, we will start with killing dragons. Those who surrender will be sent to Death's Lair."

Toothless turned his head so he could look at him, "What if a Berkian tries to kill us?" Hiccup smirked darkly, "Then we will deal with them like we did with the rest." Changing the tails position, they followed the raiding party.

(Berk)

The village was quiet and almost empty. Occasionally, a guard would walk around with a torch in hand. It would surprise no one that it was this quiet since it was the middle of the night, and most people were asleep. That is, until a loud horn was heard three times.

The village was full of activity since Vikings began pouring out of their houses, preparing for the battle. The dragons had already sent fire from the sky when the first people got outside.

Stoick was one of the first to be ready. He asked one of his men, "What have we got?" The man replied, "The usual. Nadders, Gronckles, Zipplebacks, but what's strange is that there are four Monstrous Nightmares." Stoick grunted. Of course, there are four of them now.

Before he could relay any orders, the air around them became silent as an ear-piercing shriek came closer. The response was almost immediate, "Nightfury! Get down!" They all ducked down and put their shields up as one of the catapults exploded. Stoick grumbled, "Of course, that blasted devil is here too. Protect the livestock and get the children into the hall!"

Astrid was standing nearby when she heard Stoick. The teens were now allowed to get out and fight since they finished training with Astrid winning against the Nightmare. She approached her chief, "Sir, where do you want us?" mentioning the other four standing behind her. Stoick looked at them, "You four will go down to the sheep. Protect them with all you've got and watch each other's backs." Nodding, they rushed away.

(At the sheep pens)

Arriving there, they already saw dragons trying to get into the stables. With battle cries, they charged into battle. Behind them, another catapult explodes due to the elusive Nightfury. Astrid looked at the catapult, scowling, she thought, 'That blasted devil. I will kill you.'

Grabbing a bola, she waits near their last catapult for the dragon to come. When she heard it approaching, she saw where the shot came from. Trying with all her luck, she threw the weapon. Hearing a 'WHACK' and a screech, she smirked victoriously and headed to the lower part of the village, where she saw the dragon fall. The other teens, not knowing what was going on, followed her.

They looked around when they reached the area, trying to find the trapped beast. When they spotted it, they got excited and walked forward. A dark figure emerged behind the dragon, and Astrid yelled, "Hey! That's my dragon to kill!" The person turned around, and they all froze.

Standing before them was a person clad in black armor and two swords strapped on his back like an 'X'. The mask terrified them, as they couldn't even see his eyes. Arrogant as always, Snotlout charged.

The person unsheathed his swords and jumped forward, meeting the arrogant fool halfway. When Snotlout tried to hit him with his mace, the person leaned back and gave him a kick to the stomach. The hit knocked all the air out of him, but he tried again., bringing his mace down from above. The rider brought up his two swords to block, only that they cut right through Snotlout's weapon. The bulky boy was so shocked that he didn't see the fist approaching him, knocking him out.

The others stood with open mouths at the match they had just seen. Soon, Astrid's face turned into a snarl, and they charged in. The stranger stood there without a care in the world. As the angry blonde brought down her axe, the masked man grabbed the handle of her weapon and pulled it, making the girl stumble forward. The stranger rolled over her back and gave her a cut on the back of her calf before kicking her in the side, making her fly against a wooden wall. She slumped to the floor, unconscious like Snotlout.

Before anyone else could move, a Nadder shot flames down, making a line of fire between the two sides. The masked stranger turned around and walked to the dragon. When he was close enough, he cut the ropes, freeing the dragon.

The remaining three teens could only watch in shock as the rider mounted the beast and flew off, giving a shot at the Nadder that attacked them, killing it.

Soon everyone on Berk was watching the rider and dragon killing the raiding dragons. After only twelve dragons remained, they lowered their heads in submission and defeat. The Nightfury growled at them, and they all left in one direction, with the rider flying east.

(Back at Helheims gate)

Toothless and Hiccup entered the mist when Hiccup said, "Toothless when we get there, we need to do everything to get her out of that hole."

Crooning, Toothless answered, "Alright, I just hope this will work. I can already hear her call."

After ten minutes of flying through the fog, they reached a volcanic island—the dragon's nest. Landing on the shore littered with small black stones, Hiccup dismounted Toothless and looked at the mountain before him, "Any ideas of how to get her out of there?".

Toothless was thinking momentarily before replying, "We could try to destroy the weak points on the mountain. The volcano would collapse and would already hurt the queen." Hiccup grins at the dragon, "You're a genius, brother." and saddles Toothless again before jumping in the air.

Flying around the volcano, they spotted five weak points that should make it crumble. Before Toothless takes the shot, Hiccup stops him, "Woah, aren't we gonna waste your shot limit for this?" "Right, you don't know. Nightfury's don't have a shot limit so we will be fine." "Alright, buddy, here goes nothing." Hiccup said before the Nightfury shot at the first point.

They repeated the action three more times, and each time they hit the mountain, dozens of dragons would flee, not wanting to be there when it collapsed. Aiming for the last point, almost every dragon inside the nest has run into the mist, and only a handful, including the queen, remains inside.

Hiccup watches as the hill collapses in on itself and starts to smile. Their plan worked; they just needed to wait for her to come out. The ground begins to shake as rocks start to shift. A roar, filled with anger, pain, and hate, was released inside the ruins. They watched as the gigantic dragon made her way out of the fallen volcano. Her body was covered in cuts, big enough to cause pain but not to seriously harm her.

They prepared themselves as the queen gazed at them and gathered gas to roast them. Before they got hit, they shot upwards, escaping the torment of fire. High above the ground, they turned around and dived straight at the queen, Toothless charging a blast and Hiccup loading his Crossbow. Both of them let their shot lose at the same time. The plasma blast hit the queen on her flank while the crossbow bolt hit her eyes, destroying it.

By the time the queen got back to her feet, the duo had already returned from the other side., executing the same maneuver. Now wounded and blinded on two sides, the enormous dragon spread her mighty wings to follow them.

As the queen follows Hiccup and Toothless, they fly around sea stacks while the enormous dragon crashes through them. Looking up, Hiccup sees that the clouds darkened. Getting Toothless's attention, he shouts, "Time to disappear! Come on, brother!" The Nightfury looks up and immediately knows what Hiccup is planning. "Let's show her what fear is, brother!" Toothless shouts and flies upward.

The queen follows them up and tries to snap her jaws at them, but they disappear into the clouds before she can reach them. The massive dragon looks around, sees nothing but darkness, and lets out a frustrated growl. She didn't realize the blast was forming behind her. The shot hit her left wing, and she turned to see them flying past her.

They shot here twelve times, six hits on each wing before the queen had enough. She gathered gas in her mouth and spun around while letting loose a stream of fire. Hiccup and Toothless meagerly escaped the flames with the prosthetic fin getting hit, but withstanding the heat thanks to the scales on it.

"Alright, new plan! Make her follow us and go straight down!" Hiccup shouted while looking at the queen. "Are you insane?!" Toothless asked, trying to see the logic behind it. Hiccup patted his head, "Trust me, brother." Nodding the dove toward the massive creature.

Seeing the duo that dared to challenge her dive down, she let her hate overtake her actions and followed close behind. She is nearing them slowly. When they were close enough, she narrowed her eyes and gathered gas, 'THESE PEST WILL BURN! NO ONE CAN DEFEAT ME!' she thought.

Looking back, Hiccup sees the queen gathering gas to incinerate them, 'Good. Just like I planned.' Leaning over Toothless's head, he told him, "Hold Toothless. Not yet." Toothless had to smirk. He now knew what Hiccup was planning to do. "On your signal, brother!" he said.

Seeing that the queen was about to fire, he yelled, "NOW, BUD!" Toothless spun around and fired straight into her throat, igniting the gas. The queen's eyes widened, and she swallowed the burning gas out of shock, setting her inner organs on fire.

At that moment, they broke through the clouds and saw the ground coming closer, fast. In a last effort, she tried to slow down with her wings, but holes started to open up in the leather-like skin. The hits Toothless and Hiccup gave her were enough to weaken them and tear them open.

Rider and dragon flew past the queen and got out of range when the massive beast crashed into the ground, creating a gigantic explosion. They've done it. They defeated the queen.

Landing on the shore, they looked around. Everywhere were pieces of the fallen queen, and her bones were scattered. Ash was raining down, slowly covering the ground on the island. Hearing the beating of hundreds of wings, Toothless and Hiccup looked behind them.

Every dragon that fled from the nest returns and lands before them. When every dragon landed, they all bowed down. One dragon, a Monstrous Nightmare, stepped forward. By the looks of it, he was one of the oldest dragons in the nest. It bowed and spoke, "You freed us from her enslavement; we stand at your command."

The two brothers looked at each other and smirked before turning to their new army, "You will follow us back to our home. There, you will be shown around by the others. There's only one rule now." Hiccup began, "You follow our command or die."

The dragons nodded. It was in their nature to follow those who defeated their former alpha. As they both shot in the air, the dragons followed. Looking behind them and seeing hundreds of dragons following them, Toothless proudly said, "Without your plan, we wouldn't have been able to do this." Hiccup smiled, "Without you, I would be dead by now. You save me, and I save you. Brothers to the end." The dragon smiled his toothless smile, "Brothers to the end."

That's another chapter finished. Sorry it took so long, but I had a lot of stuff going on the last few days. Let me know what you think about it, and see you soon!
