SQUAD C

"I don't think we should try and sleep," Alexa said.

Lilly asked, "Why? So Bloody can suck out Nessa's blood?" Lilly pointed to Bloody, who was licking his teeth as he looked at Nessa.

Alexa said, "No, but because we'll be woken up at midnight anyways."

"Smart. So, who's taking care of Bloody?" Glenn asked.

Tammie raised up her hand. "I have a history with goth pranksters. I can keep Bloody okay. Come on, Bloody. Stay away from Nessa."

Rolling his eyes, Bloody moved away from Nessa and over to Tammie. "So. what?" Bloody asked. "I'm not gonna be bored."

"Don't worry, you won't be-" Tammie began, but then, someone knocked on the door.

Chris yelled, "IT'S A CHALLENGE TIME!"

"B-but, it's only 9!" Lilly stuttered, as Chris stomped into the room. There was 10 people, all of them bodybuilders.

"What are they gonna do?" Glenn wailed as Chris sprayed toxic fumes around the room. Quickly, all ten fell unconscious, and one bodybuilder picked up each of their bodies.

Time

12:00 AM

Tammie was the first to wake up. They were in a rusty red jailroom, with a lot of boxes and shelves in it. Each were not in their bootcamp outfits..but in a straight jacket.

"What the hell-" Tammie said, waking up first. "Guys, guys, wake up!"

As the others woke up, more screams followed. They focused their attention to a window, where Chris was looking in.

"Welcome campers!" Chris said. "We were told to do a mental health awareness challenge, so we're challenging you to be aware of how to survive in a straight jacket in case you're in a mental health institution!"

"My god, Chris, why aren't you normal?" Nate exclaimed as Luna started to cry.

Chris added, "Your guys's challenge is to find a key, and use it to unlock a door. Once you're in the next room, you must figure out how to escape the room. The last person to leave the institute is eliminated. You may escape your straight jacket at any time..if you can."

As the siren rang, everyone began to panic. "Don't worry!" Bloody said. "I can use my 'fangs' to bite off the jacket! But, let me think about who I'll save." Bloody thought for a moment. "Nessa, so I can bite her later, and Tammie. Everyone else is on their own."

Nessa kept her guard up as Bloody bit around the strings, while Tammie was completely relaxed. "Thanks, Bloody," Tammie said.

"No problem," Bloody said, as he finished biting around the strings. The jackets slid off, Tammie and Nessa happily following Bloody as they went to look around the key.

Meanwhile, the others got up, trying to look around as well.

Alexa: "If we can compete with the straightjacket and still survive, why take it off? But then again, the straightjacket will make it harder…but taking it off would be longer…I'm overthinking now. Lame."

"Hey Nate, are there any..knives in your pocket?" asked Glenn. "To, you know…get the strings that are keeping us stuck off? It's better to be able to search and escape without this thing. And also, this thing makes me get the heebie jeebies."

Nate replied, "Oh, I think so. I cut off heads all the time." Nate looked around, seeing the shocked expressions. "Chill out, I meant TOY heads," he added, as they calmed down.

Luna said, "I heard somewhere in a book that escaping from one of these things is hard, and you need to be really relaxed to escape. Hey, I know! Alexa, escape from the jacket! You're relaxed!"

"Oh, I dunno," Alexa said. "I'd rather not."

"Jake's worthless," Nicholas wailed. "We need you, Alexa!"

Alexa pondered what she should do, before she sighed. "I'm not complaining. I'll try."

"YAY!" Lilly squealed. "Thank you SO much, Alexa!"

Alexa said, "Just let me work." She walked away from everyone else, thinking about what to do. She started figuring out the method, escaping after a couple pulls and pushes.

"YEAH..ALEXA!" Jake said. "That's what I'm saying! You're a genius!"

Alexa laughed. "Nah, I'm just a tired sixteen year old." She went over to Nate, and pulled underneath the jacket and into his pocket. "Why is there money in here?" Alexa asked, confused.

"Just something Angie gave me," Nate lied. Alexa pushed the money in, and out came a knife. "Here!" Alexa said. "Where do I cut?"

"Okay, so see those strings?" Nate asked. "Cut there." Alexa pointed the knife towards the strings, chopping them easily. Nate got out of the jacket, and took the knife from Alexa. "Go look for the key!"

As Alexa looked around for the key, Nessa was already scavenging through a box. "I found it," whispered Nessa.

"What?" Tammie asked, standing right next to Nessa.

Nessa repeated, "I found the key!" She showed Tammie the key, and Tammie's neutral expression turned into a smile.

Tammie said, "OH yeah! You found the key! Come on everyone!"

"You did?" Glenn asked, just getting his jacket off. "Awesome, Nessa!"

"Thanks, heh," Nessa said, looking down. "I don't know h-how-I even did it, I found it in..inthegewjdfjniwdjfiedjfiqadjhsiwdhfvdhf-" Glenn laughed, smiling warmly at Nessa.

Glenn said, "Take your time, don't rush out your words."

"I-I found it in..this box," Nessa said. "And it was underneath a lot of stuff, like..a lot."

Nessa: "I'm feeling good right now! I've got some friends, and no enemies..that I know of. But I'm getting tongue twisters at the worst times."

As Nessa opened the door to the second room, the ten campers looked around.

"What even is this," Alexa said. "It looks like…my GRANDMA'S HOUSE." And Alexa was right. The room had chandeliers, shelves with antiques, a rocking chair, and everything else you can find in a local grandma's house.

Glenn looked around, slightly shocked.

"So, you've never seen an antique?" Jake asked. "I thought you were a city boy."

Glenn replied, "All our grandmas are dead before they get into this phase of life. Mainly due to the fumes."

"Well, that got dark," Tammie said. "Now, are we gonna figure out how to get out of here?"

"I see a door right over here," Bloody said.

Nicholas raised his eyebrow. "But there's a door right here."

"And there's a door right here," Alexa added. "But maybe…only one is the right door, and the rest lead to a dead end."

Lilly said, "How about we split ourselves into groups? Me, Nicholas, and Luna; Bloody, Tammie, and Glenn; then Alexa, Jake, Nate, and Nessa!"

"Seems fine to me," Glenn said. "Everyone else?"

Jake said, "I guess. Let's go."

"Come on," Nicholas said, leading Lilly and Luna to the first door. As they went through, Luna closed it. As they looked around, there was yellowish-green wallpaper. One second, it was normal green wallpaper…the next it was something else.

Luna said, "This looks like the weird video game my little brother plays. The..roombacks?"

"The backrooms," Lilly added. "We need to try and get back out before it's too late!"

As the three turned around and tried to unlock the door, Bloody, Tammie, and Glenn went through the second door.

"Hey…this is the way out!" Bloody said. "We're safe!"

"And yes you are," Chris said, jumping off the roof. "Glenn, Tammie, Bloody, you three are officially making it to the next round!"

"AMAZING!" Glenn exclaimed. "My city will be so proud. Well, if the city puts it in the news. Once they put in the death of a random lady."

Tammie raised her eyebrow, but then laughed it off. "Cool!" Tammie said. "When will everyone else find their way here?"

"No Idea!" Chris said, with a grin on his face.

Back with Alexa, Jake, Nessa, and Nate, the three were in a long maze. "I love mazes! Well mazes through people's pockets."

"Since you're an 'expert' in mazes, how about you lead us?" Jake exclaimed angrily. "I wanna get out of here!"

"Give him a break," Nessa whispered.

"It's okay," Nate said, his left eye slightly twitching.

Nate: "Nowadays, people like you if you ignore rude comments. It's hard, but doable."

Alexa asked, "Which way is first, nate?"

Nate replied, "Uh…left? Or right?"

"I thought you could do a maze!" Jake exclaimed. "Whatever. Come on Alexa, we don't need to be with him."

As Jake and Alexa moved on, Nate quickly thought of an idea. "Nessa, look, Glenn!" Nate said. As Nessa looked back, Nate grabbed a dart from his pocket and shot it right at Jake. But these darts weren't normal darts, they'd only let out the paralysing fluid in five minutes.

"What the heck, Nate?" Nessa asked. "Not funny!"

Nate laughed. "Oh, just a little joke. Don't get all worked up."

Meanwhile, the door was still locked for Nicholas, Lilly, and Luna.

"I've watched my brother play this game," Luna said, as they looked around. "I think if I get out of floor Zero, that's all I'll have to do."

Lilly said, "Can I come too Luna?" with Luna nodding. As Luna led Lilly around the backrooms, Nicholas banged on the door.

"I swear," Nicholas said, as he tried to bang the door. "I should've gone with Lils and Luna."

As Jake and Alexa walked through the maze, the maze slowly turned from brown walls to yellowish walls. The two walked more, and they approached Nicholas.

"Where are you two from?" Nicholas asked.

"Door three," Jake said, catching his breath. "Wait, if door three is a maze leading to the backrooms, and door one IS the backrooms…DOOR TWO IS THE GOOD DOOR!"

"Yeah!" exclaimed Alexa. "Come on Nicholas, this is the way out the maze." Alexa grabbed Nicholas, and led him the way to the maze, Jake following along.

Jake said, "Guys, I'm-" just then, Jake fell to the ground, the paralyzation dart going into affect.

"Guys!" Jake exclaimed, but Alexa and Nicholas were already out of the backrooms.

Alexa and Nicholas were now out of the backrooms, and they ran out of the maze door.

"Watch out-" Alexa said, as Nicholas ran into a vase. "NICHOLAS!"

"I'm okay," Nicholas said. "You need to chill." Nicholas got back up, and the two ran into door two.

Chris said, "Alexa and Nicholas are safe! Good job!" He added, as Alexa sighed of relief.

Nicholas: "I hope my fair Lilly makes it!"

Meanwhile, Nate and Nessa were manoeuvring the maze. "Okay Nessa, I think we're out!" Nate said, seeing another door. As Nessa and Nate left the door, they saw the group out of the corner of their eyes.

"Come on!" Nessa said, running to the group.

"And Nessa is safe! Here comes Nate as well!" Chris exclaimed. "We're waiting on Luna, Lilly, and Jake."

Back in the backrooms, Luna and Lilly were close to the exit, but Luna was trying to remember. "Luna, just relax. Remember what your brother played."

Luna was deep in their thoughts, eyes closed, taking deep breaths. They opened their eyes in a jolt. "That way!" They exclaimed, grabbing Lilly's hand and dragging her to the exit.

"HERE WE ARE!" Luna exclaimed, the two dashing to Chris.

"LUNA AND LILLY ARE SAFE, WHICH MEANS JAKE IS ELIMINATED!" Chris yelled.

Confused, Alexa looked around, seeing that Jake wasn't there. "Wait, where's Jake?" Alexa asked, confused.

Seconds later, a drowsy Jake stumbled out of the second door.

"Sorry Jake, I really thought you were having a redemption arc," Chris sighed. "Now, are you ready to head to….THE EVERGLADES?"

"WHAT? No! I'll get eaten!" Jake wailed as bodyguards pushed Jake away.

"Jake! NO!" Alexa cried.

Alexa: "This is what I mean. When I try to try, something bad happens."

I love writing Bootcamp, more than I did writing Paradise and STS! When I'm down, or really stressed, this is what I go to.

With that done, I'm happy to announce that chapters will start getting longer! Now that the first round is over, more characters will get more time!

This chapter is being released like, 10 minutes before I gotta go and do a performance in dance class to 'better place' so I'll end it here and start working on the next chapter soon!
