Chapter 7 : Phobia Factor
So I can explain my absence. Actually I have no excuse, I was just too lazy to finish the chapters. I hope it won't happen again and I apologize again. Enjoy your reading
Last time, in Total Drama Island, we tested the candidates' ability to survive in a hostile environment. When they camped out for the night in the forest! Dave and Sky's friendship took a hit when Dave mocked Sky's favorite sport. Duncan showed real storytelling talent when he told a story that scared all his teammates except Gwen. Izzy played with the Screaming Gophers' nerves by dressing up as a bear. Unfortunately, a real bear arrived right afterwards, forcing the Gophers to spend the night in a tree. Difficult for them: Sam peed himself, then it rained. In the end, the Screaming Gophers lost the challenge and Izzy was eliminated for attracting a bear. We went a bit too far with this challenge. After the introductory song, the Gophers sit around the campfire until Killers Bass arrives with a dish.
What do you want?" asks Jasmine.
"We've come to share," replies Bridgette.
"You come out of the goodness of your heart," asks Jasmine.
"Okay, that's because Idris and Shawn had a farting contest," says Gwen.
"Sorry, I didn't think these fries tasted like barbecue," says Idris.
"This is for you," says Bridgette, handing her green jelly with licorice.
"AH! A snake!" said Amy, throwing the green jelly on the ground.
"No, soldiers, those licorice," says Brick.
"You could have avoided it," says Amy.
"It's okay, I'm afraid of snakes too" says Dj.
Confessional: Gwen
Then they all began to express their fears. Rodney said his fear was having to talk to a group of girls, Dawn was afraid of having to eat meat, Leshawna told us she was afraid of spiders.
End of confessions
"I'm afraid of mice," says Sammy.
"I'm afraid of dogs," says Idris.
"Really of all dogs?" asks Sammy.
"Yes," replies Idris.
"But why are they so cute?" says Sammy.
"It happened the day I was attacked by a pit bull. He bit me so hard my hand was in plaster," answers Idris.
"Shameful," laughs Scott.
"And what are you afraid of?" asks Idris of Scott.
"I'm afraid of sharks," Idris replies.
"That's why you didn't want to take part in the first challenge," explains Sam..
"My biggest fear is the red ring of death" says Sam "That's the symbol that appears on your VBox when it's beyond repair" says Sam
"Well, in case it's not obvious, germs" says Dave.
"I'm afraid of bats," says Sky.
"I suppose being buried alive would be the worst thing for me," says Jasmine.
"That would be the worst thing for me, too," says Gwen.
"Zombies, of course!" says Shawn.
"Wait, what? You're not serious, are you?" asks Jasmine, surprised.
"Of course I'm serious! We're on the verge of a zombie apocalypse! I'm disappointed that none of you are afraid of the undead! " says Shawn
"Do you really believe in zombies?" asks Dave.
"Uh, you mean you don't believe in them?" asks Shawn.
"Forget it," says Jasmine.
"And you, Brick, what are you afraid of?" asked Bridgette.
Brick hesitated. His fear was moderately embarrassing for a sixteen-year-old. Everyone was looking at him with great interest. He didn't know which was more cowardly: succumbing to peer pressure or not admitting his fear when everyone else was.
"The... black one," Brick said, blushing.
Several people laughed.
"How can a guy who was in the army be afraid of the dark?" asked Duncan.
"But the army has night vision goggles," said Brick.
"And what are you afraid of?" said Jasmine to Duncan.
Everyone looks at Duncan
"UH ce-celine Dion Music store Stendees," said Duncan.
The campers shouted "WAHT."
"That's not a special enough phobia ?" said Bridgette.
"Don't talk too much, what's your phobia? Duncan asked Bridgette.
"I'm afraid of being alone in the forest," Bridgette replies.
Refectory
The campers are eating when Chris enters the room.
"Competitive friends! Your new challenge is a little game I call: The Phobia Factor! You'll have to face your most unmentionable fears," says Chris.
"Worse than this food?" says Leshawna.
"Then it's bad," says Gwen.
"So, who will be our first victim? Scott," says Chris, pulling a piece of paper with Scott's name written on it out of his pocket.
"Come on, let's go to the cliff. There are sharks waiting for you," says Chris. At this revelation, Scott spits his coffee at Sam.
"Gwen and Jasmine for you, we'll go to the beach and bury you in the sand," says Chris.
"But how did they know these were your worst phobias? " a dit Dave
"We told them everything!" says Gwen.
"You're on a reality show, we've all heard it," laughs Chris.
"Master Chef. Have you prepared your little surprise for Dave?" says Chris. Chef Hatchet comes out of the kitchen and takes Dave with him.
Outside
Chris arrives with a box containing a snake.
"Dj and Amy have to stay more than two minutes with the snake on them" says Chris.
"No, that's impossible for me" says Dj.
"If the giant refuses to do it, I refuse too" says Chris.
"Dj you have to do it, you're stronger than you think" says Dawn.
"But Dawn, it's beyond my strength" says Dj.
"You love nature as much as I do, and you know that animals are not dangerous" says Dawn.
"You're right Chris, I'll do it" says Dj.
"Me too, I wouldn't want to be the weakest member of my team" says Amy.
They start to panic. Chris put the snake around their necks and they weren't feeling well. Dj was about to cry and Amy felt like screaming.
"The two minutes are up. Dj and Amy showed their courage by scoring two points for their team.
"Did I do it? Yes! I did it!" said Dj, taking Dawn in his arms.
"Sorry, I got caught up in the emossion" said Dj, blushing.
"It doesn't matter" says Aurore, gnawing her teeth.
Chef Hatchet's kitchen
"LISTEN TO ME WELL SOLDIER, I WANT THE KITCHEN CLEAN IN TWO HOURS," says Chef Hatchet.
"What! I have to do this without gloves," says Dave.
"I told you to talk!" says Chef Hatchet.
"No, sir," says Dave.

"Brick, you're going to have to spend two hours with that blindfold on," says Chris.
"Wait two hours ?" says Brick before Chris puts the blindfold on his eyes.
"Help, everything's black," says Brick.
"I'll bet you ten bucks he can't do it," says Duncan.
"I'll take that bet," says Gwen.
Amphitheater
Rodney stands in front of a group of girls.
"Rodney, if you can say a sentence in front of this group of girls, you win a point for your team, but if you can't say it in five minutes, you win nothing" said Chris
Rodney tried to speak, but it was too complicated and he only said random words.
"It's not a sentence, but I'll give you the point for speaking anyway," said Chris.
At the top of the cliff
At the top of the cliff are Scott and Chris.
"Scott, if you can jump over the cliff, your team wins, but if you don't jump, your team scores no points" a dit Chris
Confessional: Scott
My plan is to lose the event, so if I don't jump, my team won't get any points.
End of confession
Sorry Chris, but I refuse to jump," says Scott.
"Are you sure you don't want to jump" says Chris.
"Yes," says Scott.
Next to the cottages
Chris arrived with a giant screen and a VBoxe
Sam, we've got a little present for you," said Chris.
"A present for me" said Sam.
"Yes, you can play a video game on your VBoxe" says Chris.
"Very cool, but how did you get my VBoxe? " said Sam
"Don't ask any questions, just turn on your console" says Chris. Sam turns on his console and when it's on, his face changes. He's seen his worst nightmare: the red ring of death.
"Sam, to win a challenge, you have to look at your console for 10 minutes. If you succeed, your team scores a point and you get a VBoxe 2, but if you lose, you get nothing" said Chris
"A real VBoxe 2 ?" says Sam.
"Yes," says Chris.
"Okay, I accept the challenge," says Sam.
"While we wait for Sam to finish, we move on to Leshawna," says Chris.
Leshawna's face changes and she sees her worst nightmare, the giant spider.
Chief Hatchet arrives in front of Leshawna dressed as a spider.
"A giant spider OMG," says Leshawna.
"Leshawna, you've got to hug that spider," says Chris. Leshawna walked in front of the spider once it approached her. She stopped moving and was paralyzed with fear.
"Leshawna, you can do it," said Sammy.
Leshawna approached the spider slowly, but with the encouragement of her teammates, she succeeded.
"Leshawna wins this challenge and the Screaming Gophers score again," says Chris.
Beach
Chris created two holes, one with Jasmine and the other with Gwen.
"Okay! Jasmine and Gwen, you have to stay in this hole for 5 minutes. For safety reasons, someone will stay with you. Who wants to keep an eye on Gwen? " said Chris
"Me, Chris," replies Duncan.
"Okay, and who wants to keep an eye on Jasmine?" says Chris.
"Yes," says Sammy.
"No, not you, Samey, we've got something for you," says Chris.
"Okay," says Sammy with a sad look on his face.
"Shawn, you're the one who's going to stay with Jasmine," says Chris.
"Me?" says Shawn with a surprised look.
"Yes, you're last on the list," says Chris.
"Okay, I'll do it," says Shawn.
"In the meantime, we'll see if Sam has met his challenge," said Chris.
Sam was still in front of the VBoxe with the red ring of death.
"And Sam wins another point for the Screaming Gophers," said Chris.
"Where's my Vbox 2? " says Sam
"You can have it at the end of the show," says Chris.
Sam was happy
The chef's kitchen
Dave is still cleaning the kitchen. He still has a lot to do.
"Chef Hatchet, I can take a break," said Dave.
"NO, YOU FINISH, AND IF YOU DON'T FINISH WITHIN FIVE MINUTES, YOU LOSE THIS CHALLENGE," said Chef Hatchet.
Dave took over the task and did it ten times faster
Beach
Jasmine and Gwen are still buried in the sand. Duncan talks to Gwen and Shawn to Jasmine.
Jasmine and Shawn
"So Shawn, I need a distraction, tell me why you're afraid of zombies," says Jasmine.
"It happened the day my brother and I were attacked by a zombie," says Shawn.
"A zombie?" says Jasmin.
Flashback
Shawn and his little brother play in the forest. He was playing with a ball and climbing a tree. At one point, Shawn's little brother saw a "No Trespassing" sign.
"Shawn, we can go that way," said Shawn's little brother.
"No, it's very dangerous and if something happened to you, what would I tell Mom? " said Shawn
"Oh, come on, please," says Shawn's little brother, making a cute face.
"Okay, but you're next to me," says Shawn.
"Okay, thanks Shawn," says his little brother.
They both enter through the passageway. Shawn wasn't too happy, but his little brother was. They kept walking until he heard a noise.
"Shawn, what was that noise?" said Shawn's little brother.
"I don't know, but stay close to me," said Shawn. They heard another much louder noise until they saw this thing. This thing looked like a zombie and started chasing them. They started running and they were so fast they didn't even notice there was a branch on the ground, which knocked Shawn's little brother off his feet.
"Shawn, help me, I've hurt my foot. Shawn carries his little brother and heads home.
End of flashback
"And I've been afraid of zombies ever since," says Shawn.
"Shawn, your story is pretty sad," says Jasmine.
"I'm ready for a zombie attack," says Shawn.
"Time to get you out of the sand," says Shawn, grabbing a shovel and pulling Jasmine along.
"Thanks Shawn, but why did you do this for me, we're not on the same team. We're not on the same team. You wouldn't have left me here," Jasmine says.
"You know you're the nicest person here," Shawn says. Shawn turns around and sees his worst nightmare behind him, a zombie.
"ZOMBI!" shouts Shawn. Shawn jumps on the zombie and starts punching it. Jasmine had to hold back to reveal that it was an intern in a suit.
"Stop it, Shawn! That wasn't the challenge," Chris said.
"Then what was it?" said Shawn.
"You were just supposed to hug him," said Chris.
"Does that still count?" says Shawn.
"Yes! Shawn and Jasmine win a point for their team," says Chris.
Duncan and Gwen
Gwen panics and Duncan tries to reassure her, but she's too scared.
"Duncan, I need a distraction," says Gwen.
"Okay, tell me what your favorite horror movie is," says Duncan.
"Uh... House of Horror 2," says Gwen.
"Seriously, that's my favorite horror movie too," says Duncan.
"Oh yeah, what's your favorite scene in the movie?" says Gwen.
"It's when the killer finds the two twins and kills them," says Duncan.
"That's my favorite scene too," says Gwen.
"You have animals in your house," says Duncan.
"Yes, I have lizards at home," says Gwen.
"Lizards are cool," says Duncan.
"And what kind of animals do you have at home?" says Gwen.
"I have a spider," says Duncan.
"A spider? That's a funny animal," says Gwen.
"Yes, I know," said Duncan. Looking at the clock, Duncan saw that it was time to get Gwen out. He grabbed a shovel and pulled Gwen out of the sand.
"Did I do it?" said Gwen.
"Yes, you did well," said Duncan.
"Thanks Duncan, without you I'd never have done it," said Gwen, hugging Duncan.
The latter puts a smile on his face
The chef's kitchen
Dave was tired. He'd almost finished cleaning Chef Hatchet's kitchen.
"I've finished cleaning the kitchen, I can go take a shower now," said David.
"Yes, you can go," said Chef Hatchet.
Dave runs out of the kitchen and into the shower.
"Chris, you can bring me the nature girl," says Chef Hatchet.
"What, did the germophobe do it? " says Chris.
"Yes, he went to take a shower," says the chef.
The chef's kitchen
The candidates are around the table where Dawn is going to eat meat
"Dawn, for one point, you have to eat the whole meal with meat," says Chris.
"I'm sorry Chris, I can't be that cruel," says Dawn.
"Fine, Basse killers don't score points," says Chris.
The cave
In a cave, Sky is alone with bats.
"Sky, to score a point, you'll have to hit a bat," says Chris.
"Okay," said Sky, in a panic. Sky was baited by bats and tried to hit one, but just as she was about to, the bats flew away.
"And Killer Basses don't score. Now let's go see if Brick still has his headband," Chris says. Brick no longer wears his headband.
"The Killer Basses lose another point," says Chris.
Duncan stands in front of the displays at Céline Dions Music Store.
"To get a point, you have to hug Céline Dions Music Store," says Chris.
"Okay, I'll do it," Duncan replies. As they approached the model, no one had ever seen Duncan so upset. Arriving in front of the model, he had to wait a long time before he could take it, but he finally did.
"And Duncan scores another point for Killers Bass" says Chris.
"Well done mate, you're doing really well," says Idris.
Dave gets out of the shower
"Did I miss something?" says Dave.
"Duncan managed to face his fear," says Idris.
"Well done Duncan," says Dave.
"Thanks guys," says Duncan.
"Next on the list is Idris. Come with me, there's someone who'd like to play with you," says Chris.
Idris comes face to face with a pit bull. The dog looks very upset.
"Idris, for once, you're going to have to pet this dog " said Chris
"But you're crazy, you want him to eat my hand. Besides, he's wagging his tail," says Idris.
"That means he likes you," says Dawn.
"Okay, I'll try," says Idris.
He's afraid of the dog. Idris's heart beat fast, when he was afraid of the dog, he barked like crazy.
"No, I'm sorry, I can't do it," says Idris.
"Do you give up?" asks Chris.
"Yes," replies Idris.
"Killers Bass don't score. Let's move on to the last Killer Bass character. Bridgette, we're going to take you into the forest alone," says Chris.
The forest
Bridgette was sitting alone on a tree trunk, surrounded by wild animals, she was very scared.
"Nice squirrel, be nice" said Bridgette.
The squirrel climbed onto her lap and ran away.
"Hai! Too bad the Killers Bass don't win any points, so it's up to Samey to break the tie. Chris turns Sammy's glass, smiling.
"Samey you're last on your team if you take that mouse in your hand you win but if you miss it the teams will be tied so we'll each have to eliminate one member of his team.
"Okay, I'll try," said Sammy. Sammy walked up to the smile and looked into her eyes, and she took the mouse in her hand.
"The Screaming Gophers win today's challenge. Killer Bass, see you tonight," Chris said.
Tonight
Killer Basse sits down in front of Chris with a plate of marshmallows.
"Killer Basse, it's been a long time since I've seen you, you're big wimps, only 5 of you have passed your challenge but let's get to the vote, I've only got 9 marshmallows and you've got 10. Whoever doesn't stay will have to pack up and take the losing boat, never to return. Well, the first to be safe is... Shawn

"Idris, Dawn and Bridgette, I only have two marshmallows left. Bridgette, you can leave because you failed your challenge, but that's no reason to eliminate you, so keep your marshmallows. Idris grabbed his marshmallow, all happy.
"Dawn, the Dock of Shame is waiting for you" said Chris.
"It's a shame you're leaving" said Dj.
"That's okay, I have other obligations to Mother Nature" said Dawn.
"I promise to help you" says Dj.
"Then join me later" says Dawn.
Dawn gathers her things and heads for the dock of shame.
"What happened?" says Dj.
"She just gave you a date" says Duncan.
"Well done, soldier" says Brick.
"Congratulations, mate" says Idris.
End of chapter 7
Author's note: Another new chapter to finish. I wanted to create a relationship between Dj and Dawn because they have a lot in common. But I realized that with all the relationships I want to create, it's going to be a mess, so I'm saving it for later.
What I think of Dawn: Dawn is one of the few TDROTI characters I like. Too bad she's leaving so early, which is also the case here.
