Ch 90 An Eventful Shower
The Day of the Baby Shower had arrived, Helena wore a simple white shirt with a pink dress over it. She had her hair in a ponytail, hung over her shoulders.
Helena walks around the upper level of her Home for the Shower. She placed snacks, her Homemade Pokepuffs, and some Pokemon food for their Guests. "Alright, there's the food enough for everyone…Anthea and Concordia were cleaning the Living room for the Guests…N was cleaning the patio…Paulo will be arriving with everyone else….what else…"
She then suddenly felt someone wrap their arms around her waist. "Don't worry too much Ellie," Steven rested his chin on his Girlfriend's shoulders. "In fact, you shouldn't be worrying about today." He said,
"I know, I know, Steven." Helena placed her hand on his arms, smiling at his company. "But I want things to be perfect and fun for everyone." She looks at her Boyfriend with a smile.
Steven chuckles, going around to meet her eyes. "I said it before and I say it again, Helena. It'll be perfect, no matter how much work you've put into it." He said, smiling softly at her.
Helena smiles, hearing some footsteps and little footsteps coming with the larger ones. "Helena, Steven." The two turn around, seeing N and her Partner Kirlia standing beside him.
"Kirlia, Kirlia," Kirlia happily cried out to her Partner and her Boyfriend.
"Helena, the first of our Guests has arrived," N informed the Couple of their Guests' arrival at their Home.
Kirlia nodded, "Kirlia, Kirlia," The Fairy/Psychic-type Pokemon added, excited for the Party.
Helena giggled, hearing her Partner's excited cries. She looks at Steven, ready to welcome their Guests. "Let's welcome our Guests, Steven."
"Of course, Ellie." The four walk down to the Second Floor, where N, Anthea, Concordia, and their Pokemon are waiting for the other Guest to officially begin.
Helena, Kirlia, and Steven stood near the door, welcoming their first Guest. Opening the door was Adam and his Sister, Irina with their Partners, Leafeon and Glaceon. "Helena! Steven!" The dirty-blonde Woman smiles, hugging the two.
"Irina, I'm glad you were able to make it despite having some work to do," Helena said, happy to have her Mentor's Sister here to celebrate.
"That's because she dodged her coworkers when she got your email." Adam chuckles, crossing his arms. "She immediately got onto a Plane and flew to Hoenn," He commented,
Both Leafeon and Glaceon nodded, agreeing with the blue and blonde Professor said, "Glace…" Glaceon strongly agrees with him, being Irina's Partner for the longest.
"Oi, don't call me out like that!" Irina scolded her Brother and Pokemon for making fun of her.
Adam chuckles as both Steven and Helena join in. He then looks at his Students with a smile, "You know, I always knew you two were perfect for each other. Congratulations on your Baby, Helena, Steven." He said, feeling proud of the both of them.
"Thank you, Professor," Helena said, appreciating her Father Figure statement,
"Kirlia," Kirlia smiles, interrupting the scene.
Steven looks at the Professors, welcoming them to their celebration. "Professors, please make yourselves comfortable. N and his Sisters were up on the Second Floor," The Hoenn Champion invited them inside to the Party.
Irina quickly turns her mood, smiling at the couple. "Anyways…Adam told me that you manage to Evolve your Eevee into a Sylveon." The dirty blonde-haired Professor said, her eyes sparkled with curiosity.
"Sylveon is upstairs with my Siblings, Irina," Helena informed her Mentor's Sister. "There's also some homemade Pokepuffs for everyone in the Kitchen. It's just an appetizer before we go outside where the food is."
"Thank you, Helena," Irina said, looking back at her Brother.
Adam held the two gifts they got for the couple. "We brought gifts for your little one." The blue and blonde-haired Professor said, showing them the Baby gifts.
"We appreciate your Gifts, we put up a table for the Gifts. You can put them there." Steven explains to the two Professors and their Pokemon.
Adam and Irina smile before one of them turns to their Partners. "Come on you two, your Friends are waiting upstairs," Adam said to both Glaceon and Leafeon, who looked excited but collected.
Leafeon leaps on the first steps with Glaceon following him behind. Adam and Irina also went up the stairs, joining N and the others.
"Kirlia," Kirlia looks at both Helena and Steven, excited for the rest of their Guests' arrival.
Helena smiled, petting Kirlia's head before looking at her Boyfriend who shared the same smile as her. "Well, that's the first of our Guests."
Steven nodded before his eyes caught some more of their Guests coming. "Now, what is this about talking about being pregnant? It's all everyone was talking about." A familiar voice spoke out, coming over to them.
Kirlia smiles, waving her hand at the Person. "Kirlia, Kirlia!"
"Wallace! Welcome to my Pokemon Lab/Home." Helena giggles, running up to the teal-haired trainer- no, Gym Leader. "Thank you for coming,"
"Please, we've been betting on you guys if you're going to be a thing when we were attending School," Wallace commented, smiling at the black-haired Professor. "But it seems that you two decided to jump the rails and have a Child before you two get hitched." He smiles,
Helena blushed, giving a slight chuckle at what the former Champion said. "Hahaha…" She looks away, forgetting how straightforward Wallace can be.
"Dude, I know right!? I was totally ready for a big Wedding," Brawly walks down the brick path, "But any celebration is worth my while. If you catch my drift," The Sky-blue haired Gym Leader said, smirking at the two.
Steven walks up to one of his closest Friends, "Brawly! Get your mind out of the gutter!" He said, his cheeks were blushing red. "And what is this about a bet!?"
Brawly chuckles, placing his hands behind his head. "Come on, Steven. You two were close during School. It's plainly obvious that you two love each other from the moment you've met." The Fighting-type Gym Leader commented,
Wallace nodded, agreeing with Brawly on the notion, not saying anything after that,
Steven sighs, knowing they were right. "In any case, you two welcome to the Shower. Despite having heard you betted on us getting together." He said, shaking his head with a smile.
Brawly approaches Steven, wrapping his arm around his shoulders. "Thanks, Dude, oh, I got something for the little tike." He showed him a gift bag for the Baby growing in Helena's abdomen.
"Nice, thanks Brawls." Steven appreciates the gift his Friend gave them for the Baby.
"Right, here's my Gift for your Baby, Ellie." Wallace showed a gift bag just like Brawly's. "It's something that will make your Baby fabulous." The Water-type Gym Leader said, saying what gift he had gotten for them.
Helena got the idea of what was inside the gift bag Wallace gave them. "I think I know what it is, thank you, Wallace." She smiles, letting the new Gym Leader inside her Home.
Wallace followed Brawly after Brawly and Steven catching up with him on things. He did catch up with Steven a bit but saved it for the inside when he was finished greeting their next Guests.
After welcoming all the Guests that Helena and Steven invited, they proceeded inside the Lab/Home of the Potters.
Both Helena and Steven went to the Second Floor of the Lab where everyone was mingling with each other. Their Guests consisted of Wallace, Brawly, Roxanne, Flannery, Adam, Irina, N, Concordia, Anthea, Paulo, Amethio, Chairman Blanche, Headmaster Keith, Lydia, Joseph, Owen Birch and his Wife with his Daughter, Glacia, Sidney, Drake, Phoebe, and a few of the Teachers from the Pokemon School. There are others who they invited, but can't due to either their Jobs or other stuff holding them down.
"I can't believe you two are having a Baby before you two got married!" Flannery said, almost spilling her drink, clearly shocked from the moment she heard about it (which was the invitation to the Shower). "Geez, I thought you two were responsible Adults; but it seems you've proven us wrong." The red-haired Gym Leader stated.
Phoebe, standing next to the three heard their conversation. "I know right? But to say the least, Steven hasn't shut up about Helena if she's doing alright to himself." The Ghost-type Elite Four commented,
Helena looks at her Boyfriend, seeing him embarrassed by what Phoebe said. "Were you really worried about me so much at work?" She asked him.
"Hahaha…" Steven chuckles, looking to the side which Helena takes as his way of telling the truth.
Helena merely giggles slightly at how caring Steven is, even when she's not around. She just patted her Boyfriend's back before hearing a knock on the door. "It seems like some more of our Guest has arrived," Steven said, also hearing the knocking on the Lab door.
"Really? Who did you invite?" Flannery asked, looking at Phoebe who was curious as well.
The black-haired Woman walks over to the stairs, going to answer it. "I'll get it," Helena said, walking down the stairs to answer the door.
"Alright, be careful, Ellie," Steven said, watching his pregnant Girlfriend descend the stairs.
Helena approaches her front door, opening it only to smile at the Person standing before her. "Wyscan, I had a feeling you might show up like every time."
Wyscan smiles, lifting his cap at his fellow Researcher. "Well, Professor, once I receive your Email about this Baby Shower; I have to come." The blonde Researcher said, looking down at the young Researcher. "Pregnant at this Age, daring I must say; that's a bold commitment but a right one if you decided to have a Child."
Helena apricates Wyscan's Gift for her Child. "Thank you, Wyscan for the gift. There's a table with everyone's gifts," The black-haired Professor motions the blonde Researcher into her Home.
"I'll put it there, I think you both will like what I gave you." Wyscan smiles before remembering something when coming to the Lab. "Oh, right, I think there's someone at the Gates. He looks to be unsure if he should go in or not."
"Hmm?" Helena blinks, looking at the Gates.
Standing near the Gates was a familiar face. Helena turns to the blonde Professor, "Thank you for telling me, you can go inside and make yourself comfortable, Wyscan." Helena said,
Wyscan grins, tilting his cap at the young Professor. "You know I will, thanks, Professor Potter." The blonde Researcher enters the Lab, greeting everyone already inside.
Once Wyscan was inside, Helena proceeded to greet the Person at the Gates. "Hey there stranger, I didn't see you for a while. I was beginning to think that you didn't receive my Invitation." She greeted an old Friend.
"I did receive that Email and it shocked me a bit. Anyways, congrats Helena," The Person smiles down at Helena, feeling regret that he didn't take the chance to ask her when he had it.
"Thank you, Jackie," Helena said, looking at her long-time Friend. "And you look at you! You're an official Pokemon Ranger, the last time I saw you was when you were heading off to the Pokemon Ranger School." She said, remembering the time at the Airport for a few years.
Jackie smirks, seeing Helena has taken notice of his Ranger Uniform. It consisted of a black shirt, a red jacket with the Pokemon Rager Logo, a pair of black shorts, red shoes, and a black box on his belt. "Ah, taking a liking to my Uniform, now Helena? Come now, I thought you and Steven were Dating." He smirks at her.
Helena blinks, surprised by the sudden change in her old Friend's personality. He's more confident and more open. "Wow, just a few years of being a Pokemon Ranger and you become more confident than the last time I saw you."
The blonde Pokemon Ranger chuckles, looking at Helena with a smile. "Well, going on Missions and all that undercover work gives you confidence when trying not to get caught." Jackie chuckles, scratching the back of his head.
"Well, in any case, thank you for inviting me, Helena or should I call you Professor Potter now?" Jackie asked the black-haired Professor how to address her.
"Just Helena, Jackie. Now come on, everyone is inside enjoying the Party." Helena said, inviting the Pokemon Ranger into her Home.
Jackie obliges, and both head inside the Lab to join up with everyone else.
The Shower went on as expected for any Shower, there were many conversations about Helena and Steven's Baby. Most questions were about what gender of the Baby, what Names they have for him/her,
However, one question caught the two off guard, asked from Glacia. "So, Steven, Professor, when are you two planning your Wedding?" The Ice-type Elite Four asked the two.
Helena and Steven paused; they were expecting that question from their Friends.
"I'm curious as well since you are having a Child. Shouldn't at least be planning for a Wedding too?" Wallace asked their Friends, "You're going to be official once your Baby is bought into the World,"
Steven and Helena nodded, understanding what the Water-type Gym asked. "We're waiting until the Baby is born before planning a Wedding." The Champion explains to their Guests.
"Ah, so you want your Child to join you on your Wedding Day." A Teacher from the Trainer School asked his fellow Instructor.
"It's more to put less stress on Helena and the Baby," Steven said, looking at his Girlfriend who added after him.
"Now that I think about it, I didn't think our Child would partake in our Wedding," Helena said, now thinking when their Child is born, he or she would be a part of their Wedding.
Steven couldn't help but think of their Child being a part of their Wedding in a Baby tux or dress. He smiles, chuckling at the image of their Child in formal wear. "Ellie, I think the Baby would look adorable wearing something fit for our Wedding." The Champion comment.
Helena and the others chuckle at Steven's comment,
Kirlia was enjoying the time with everyone's Pokemon. They spoke in their Language about different topics, "Kirlia?" The Emotion Pokemon paused, feeling a strong emotion coming from the front of her Home.
Hattrem approaches Kirlia, who also senses some strong feelings of resentment and hatred outside their Home. "Hattrem, Hat," The Serene Pokemon informed Kirlia, being the Pokemon leader of their Partner's Pokemon.
"Kirlia, Kirlia," Kirlia nodded, walking over to Helena with the Psychic-type to inform her what they sense.
The two went to their trainer, crying out to Helena. "Hmm? What is it you two?" Helena asked her Pokemon,
"Seems like something has stirred them up," N walks up to them, hearing their plight from where he was standing. "They say that someone is standing at the front door,"
Steven raised his eyebrow, knowing that everyone they invited was here in the Living room. "How so? Everyone who can make it is here right with us?" The Champion said, looking at Helena and their Guests.
Wallace smiles, "Maybe it's a Guest who just showed up late." The Water-type Gym Leader commented, thinking that was the case. "They might want to surprise you, Ellie."
Helena nodded, taking what her Friend said into consideration. "You might be right, Wally. I should go and greet them," She said,
"I wouldn't go and make assumptions, Helena," N spoke, looking down at his Sister's Pokemon. "Kirlia and Hattrem look distressed. They might sense that Person outside has hostile emotions," The green-haired trainer said, hearing their voices filled with concern.
Helena ponders before ultimately deciding to see who is at the door. "I think I'll be fine, don't worry too much, N, and you two too." She felt the Steel-blue haired Champion approach her.
Steven could see the concern on both N's and Helena's Pokemon's faces. He looks at Helena, offering something to calm them. "Helena, how about I stay close while you check on whoever is at the door." He offered his Girlfriend.
Helena knew what Steven was doing and agreed to it. "If it makes you two three feel less worried," The young Professor said,
N nodded along with her Pokemon, "Thank you, Helena." He said, appreciating her taking their consideration seriously.
Both Helena and Steven went down to her Lab lobby, where Steven stood by the stairs. The knocks were "I'll be waiting here in case you need me, Helena." He said, giving his Girlfriend the chance to do things her way before intervening.
Helena walks to the door, opening it to see who's outside. Standing at her front door was a familiar face, "Maya…what are you doing here?" She asked the trainer who she didn't expect to see.
Maya gave Helena the stink eye, glaring at her. "I heard that Steven was here," She said, not even truly acknowledging her.
Helena's eyes shift to her Boyfriend not even moving his head. She saw him standing up, hearing who was at the door. "He's busy at the moment," She lied, handling the situation on her own.
"Liar, I know he's here! This Party is for his Child that you are carrying for him!" The teal-haired trainer exclaims, "That Child is supposed to be mine! It was supposed to be mine and Steven Baby!" She exclaims,
"Maya, please lower your voice. You'll cause a commotion here." Helena said, trying to calm the situation.
Maya gritted her teeth, "Don't talk to me as if you know me!" She exclaims, stepping her foot inside the Laboratory.
Helena backs up calmly, however, she bumped into a table. "If you haven't shown your ugly face around then Steven will be heads over for me!" Maya exclaims, raising her hands ready to attack her. "Just you'll wait, I'll make you regret that you came out of that backwater Town you came from and make your Bastard Chi-"
"MAYA!" Helena and Maya turn to Steven, marching up to the two Girls.
"S-Steven!? W-W-What are you-" The teal-haired trainer stammers, expecting him to be with the other Guests. "Y-You heard wrong, I didn't me-"
Steven grabs Maya's hand, pushing her away from his pregnant Girlfriend.
Maya flinched in pain, feeling Steven's grip tighten on her wrist. "Gah! S-Steven, y-you're hurting me! S-St-"
"I heard everything that you said to Helena and my Child," Steven said, his face was cold and anger was the only emotion that could describe what he was feeling right now. "You may have convinced yourself that we're meant to be together, Maya. But it's just a delusion that you keep telling yourself." He stated, glaring at his Friend's Sister.
"I will never love someone who's selfish and arrogant like you," Steven said, glaring at Maya for disrupting the peace and insulting the Woman he loves.
Maya wasn't having it, she dismissed what the Hoenn Champion said to her. "S-Steven, come on…heh, you can't be serious. You're the most eligible Bachelor, the eye of every Girl in all of Hoenn!"
The Teal-haired trainer got closer to Steven, who refuted the actions. "M-Maya, what are-"
"Steven, a Whore like her isn't worth your time." Maya smiles, chuckling as she approaches him. "Come on, open your eyes. I'm the ideal choice to be the Mother of your Child, not her. So-"
Steven went blind with anger, something he rarely gets. "Why you-"
"Steven, that's enough!" Helena called out his name,
The Hoenn Champion stopped, about to force the teal-haired out of the Lab. He turns to Helena, hearing her call his Name. "H-Helena-"
"I appreciate your chivalrous demeanor, but I can handle this myself," Helena stated, pulling her Boyfriend back from Maya.
Maya scoffs, looking at Helena thinking she's no threat. "Oh? What can a little Bitch do to me?" She asked in a mocking tone.
Steven gritted his teeth at Maya's mocking, "Maya, sto-" He paused hearing a loud slap in the lobby of the Lab. His eyes widen, seeing what happened.
The teal-haired trainer's head turned, her cheeks red indicating where she was slapped. "W-W-Wha…" Helena's hand was in the position after slapping Maya.
Helena closed her eyes and smiled at Maya before her. "Oops, I'm sorry about that. The hormones got to me; I guess the Baby doesn't like all those slurs you are spewing." She gave a little laugh, looking at a dazed Maya and Steven who discovered a new side of Helena,
'She's sweet as a lily, but she can sting like a Beedrill…' Steven thought, liking this side of his Girlfriend. 'Helena, you're always full of surprises.'
