"Oh, isn't it Ms. Continuum of CXA." Noah noticed. "Ghondor, greet her friendly."
-*yawns* "People's gathering, so I've got to get up and get here. Hello..." Ms. Continuum greeted.
"Who is she?" Waldi (Munich 1972) has no idea.
"Akatsuki cloak, blonde, mismatched eyes..." Noah glances at Ms. Continuum. "Yeah, that's Ms. Continuum, one of the commanders of the Continuum Exploitation Authority."
"What? Never heard of it." Soohorang (Pyeongchang 2018) is surprised. "What is... Continuum Exploitation Authority?"
"Well, you have no idea what CXA is?" Ms. Continuum noticed. "Very well, I won't offend you with a class."
"The Continuum Exploitation Authority is an omniversal organization dedicated to keeping the existence on track safely, and protect the divine continuum - the omniverse and its infinite realities, and the hypertime and its series of timestream - from absolute threats, such as those who bypass the balance between good and evil, order and chaos, free will and destiny, and the likes." She explains the CXA. "CXA is founded not long after the very end of the Redvenger-Darkbolt-Officer-Knights war, after a mysterious being pushed the reset button when all hope seemed lost. That war could have been kept in check with proper canon and control that CXA has since possessed."
The allied people groups by groups gathered in Rumble Ruins where the mascots and co. is hearing the commander talking.
"For countless incidents throughout its history, CXA has protected the greater omniverse from countless of threats and banded together with much of the entire existence to make all that possible." Ms. Continuum continued. "To this day, CXA is still dedicated to protect all of existence from the unneeded end of it. We'd only allow final kinds of entropy to end existence, but even then we reset it."
"And all the sudden, we get infos about everywhere beyond a so-called multiverse." Willie (England 1966) laughed.
"Yes sir!" Pille (Germany 2006) followed.
"This while the rest of our Atmos team is telling our story to our opponent Nulmos team, what do you think about the info dump?" Kat and Niz (Korea/Japan 2002) conversing.
"I joined those mascots from the real world, and retrieved Kiana Kaslana." Ghondor responded. "And I proudly join forces with CXA for my parents, my future, my world and for the existence." *bows down*
"Recruits already?" Cross-Dimensional Observation System No. XX, stepping in. "Oh wait, I recognize all of you..."
"Look! There's a woman... alien, something!" The mascots panicked.
"No, it's a machine." Except Miraitowa and Someity. "System XX of Cross Tag Battle."
"That woman dressed in metal and crystal thing-ies? Some part of it... looks like swords... Who is she?" Most mascots scratched their heads.
"I and Someity live in the digital world, so unlimited access to Internet." Miraitowa revealed. "I can clearly learn from searching the wikis. The woman's a machine, and she collects from the Keystones. Her name is Cross-Dimensional Observation System No. XX, and she's behind a certain tournament between Blazblue and a few other dimensions in the wake."
"Kousako Kansatsubi."/"観察美交差子" ("かんさつびこうさこ") System replied. "I wasn't originally this humanoid like you're currently seeing though. I was just a big ol' diamond powered by Keystones for the purpose of cross-dimensional observation and the creation of new possibilities, but ended up becoming sentient and bring four universes for conquest."
"Oh, I see..." Aster (Turin 2006 Para.) giggles.
"Make sense. You are conceived nearly two years after Rio 2016-" Said Tom, the flora creature.
"Did you just say... 2016 Summer Olympics?" System heard it, much to Tom's shock.
"I think our context is thrown out of the window the moment we leave our world." Someity whispered.
Lobotomy-Ruina, the SHIFTers and the rest of the multiversal edition of the Investigation Team has arrived.
"I have never seen those, and yet you..." Spider-Man 2099 is surprised.
"Miguel O'Hara, seems like you, or at least the version of you that arrived here, are a newbie... to us." Ms. Continuum told Spider-Man 2099. "You had no idea of what's beyond your multiverse. Spider-Verse, or... an arachno-humanoid poly-multiverse."
Cue the laughters from all the nearby, especially System who finds it very silly for a technical term.
"Yeah... that name was stupid." Spider-Man 2099 conceded.
"What happened that you arrived here?" Ms. Continuum asked.
"I and much of the Spider-Society was hunting for that anomaly to protect the canon event, landing at Earth-1610... uh, 1610 or... what? 1610B?" Spider-Man 2099 struggled to explain. "That black kid bitten by a radioactive spider not from his world, he shouldn't have been a Spider-Man, Peter Parker there would've not been killed, and the Earth that spider came from would've bitten someone and thus there would be Spider-Man in that world! He severely disrupted the canon events! He's an anomaly!"
"So you, from Earth-928B, is hunting Miles Morales the Spider-Man of Earth-1610B just because he got bitten by a spider from Earth-42, automatically making him disrupting the canon events?" Ms. Continuum spoiled.
"B? I don't remember... 1610 or 1610B?" Spider-Man 2099 has no idea. "And where's this place? I don't remember being involved in the Reality Zero!"
"Wait... This is sus..." System reacted to 2099's mind with spider-sense. "He's lost some of his memory. That's why he can't remember some specific details in his existence."
"And you... must be an greater anomaly than that kid!" Spider-Man 2099 denounced the System in front of her. "Because how could you have spider-sense when you don't even look like a Spider-Man!"
"I'm a machine, collecting and processing datas throughout realities for the purpose of cross-dimensional observation and the creation of new possibilities." System then briefly summoned Monado. "So I can use the datas as mediums to summon things from all kind of different worlds, like this."
Spider-Man 2099 is shocked at System's reaction. The arrival of the rest of the alliance doesn't help.
"The hell is this place... full of aliens and oddballs..." Spider-Man 2099 is overwhelmed. "You're a bunch of anomalies! Your presence annihilate the canon-"
"No, I think it's more complicated than just that." Jumpson refuted. "But CXA is also protecting the canon, just like your Spider-Society, but the organization don't leave deviations out entirely. They only target threats that seriously endanger existence itself from where it's not supposed to."
"Also, you previously were featured on late Season 2 collab where they asked 'Where's Miles?'. We clearly recognize you, and your acts from Across!" The nearby Loopers pointed it out.
"I recognize the amnesia pattern he received." System figured it out. "It's a memory storm. His memory is now scattered instead of being fully wiped away."
"You... you know me... but I don't know you most!" Spider-Man 2099 shoos the people out of the way. "Ghondor, K-423, do something!"
"Actually, we'd be better off working together." Ghondor told everyone. "It's be the best for the existence and good for us. Besides, it's CXA's mission, so we must!"
" And don't worry, mister, you'll get your memories back." SCP-239 reassured.
"And being a Spider-Man, you couldn't necessarily just... you know, let certain event kill an innocent people." Deadpool noted. "Anyone can wear that kind of mask. It's how you wear it that define you. And also, in the future, you may learn that the so-called canon events aren't exactly set in stone... that one Looper says..."
"Spoiler alert, taken from TV Tropes: It's established that every Spider-hero across that multiverse will have certain points of their timeline that're destined to happen, the most common being the unpreventable death of a loved one. These are referred to as 'canon events' and breaking these events run the risk of destroying that particular universe, thus Spider-Man 2099 formed the Spider-Society to make sure the canon events happen as destined." That one genre-savvy Looper explained. "This status quo is challenged by Miles Morales of Earth-1610B, the boy bitten by the one spider from Earth-42, who not only disrupts a canon event in Spider-Man India's universe indirectly by saving a police captain who was fated to die, but seeks to deliberately disrupt one in his own universe when he learns the Spot plans to get Revenge by Proxy on Miles by killing his dad, the latter of which recently became a police captain. Ultimately it's proven that destiny can be changed when the Captain George Stacy of Spider-Gwen's universe averts his predestined death by resigning from the force. This inspires Gwen Stacy of Earth-65B to defect from the Spider-Society and assemble a Spider-Team of her own to defeat the Spot and save Miles, potential 'consequences' be damned."
"Nerd isn't necessarily the one to be targeted." Deadpool gave a thumb up.
"Ok, listen!" Carlos shouted. "This time we checked, the Zero Point now barely have enough power to ensure the stability of the entire omniverse. All thanks to both Herald's canon events and Zerobreaker's meddlings."
"But we've joined forces again, and has readied everyone for this gathering and beyond. The evolution of Anti-Life, and the story behind, turned out to be more complicated than anyone has ever imagined before, let alone think." Akane announced. "Our escape the very night before now means we SHIFTers has returned, and we followed this same gathering by you!"
Akane pointed at Ms. Continuum, leading to many recalling various times the SHIFTers called CXA.
"Well, we Shinra welcomes you." Reiji Arisu offered to shake hands with Spider-Man 2099. "We normally oppose Ouma, but they are important for the powers we needs to win this existence. Same goes to Oros Phlox."
"Two organizations that tried to combined worlds, occasionally worrking with a few multiversal protectors, you say? Less canon, more anomaly, you are!" Spider-Man 2099 complained.
"CXA gathers the existence to fight the continuum threats, damn it!" Jumpson and Captain Velvet Meteor both facepalmed.
"They're right." Angela sighed, and Jake Sully hissed.
"We cannot sacrifice our existence over a paradox event horizon!" Ecolo complained. "That would be the universal fate unimaginably worse than death!"
"An omniversal bunch of ragtags supposedly more powerful than my Spider-Society..." Spider-Man 2099 sighed. "Then I will tell you a story..."
-*flashback*
While hunting for Miles in Earrth-1610B, Spider-Man 2099 and various remaining members of the Spider-Society from HQ (Nueva York, Earth-928B) got attacked by a black figure resembling a humanoid bat avatar.
"Dark Knight Army Corps. has arrived." It's D.K.A.C., the O.M.A.C. of the Darkest Knight, Bruce Wayne of Earrth -22, the Batman Who Laughs. "I will kill you all, and take a spot for you!"
The Spider-Society put up a fight, but was no match to the cybernetically-enhanced Darkest. In fact, Spider-Man 2099 quickly became the last one standing, just as the Spot - Johnathan Ohms of Earth-1610B - started taking actions and tried to kill. The D.K.A.C. teleported into behind the Spot the moment the latter touched the city, giving time for Miguel to escape.
"Who are you?" The Spot had no idea.
"A forrmer Villain of the Week, turned multiversal nemesis hellbent on making a person suffer..." D.K.A.C. torments the Spot. "You couldn't have made yourself a finer vessel to me... the one who laughs. Right, Johnathan Ohms... of Earth-1610B?"
Cue the Spot screaming in terror and eventual agony as the D.K.A.C. enters his infinite, eldritch-warping multiversal black holes, bringing Batmanhattan and Brother Eye and the insanity of Batman Who Laughs into a literal hole-man, causing him to gain a red Joker smile and a cowl in shape of Batman's helmet on the head, and a dark blue Brother Eye symbol on the chest.
"Who's laughing now?"
"No! I can't die like this! I must...!" Spider-Man 2099 then escaped.
... only for a humanoid alien monster with brown skin, human proportions and distorted details on the body.
"Mission accomplished." The resulting creature called the alien. "Chya, finish that Spidey. I will destroy this world."
Cue the alien striking the Spider-Man 2099 down, and causing him to fail his own memory. (This is the memory storm that led Miguel to struggle now)
"No! No!!!" And then Spider-Man 2099 briefly received thoughts from the now-murdered Spider-Society of his own.
Then Kiana knocked the alien out with her magical baseball bat, then carried Spider-Man 2099 out.
-*flashback ends*
"K-423 saved me and rescued me out, but that Earth ended up being destroyed." Spider-Man 2099 continued. "Not just by the Spot like I feared, but something even worse that I never knew existed."
"So Kiana saved Mr. 2099, befriended him, and accompanied with me as inter-dimensional mercenaries." Ghondor concluded. "Besides, your Miles has a point. It's the super-collider that brought the wrong spider into his Earth, leading to such disruptions like the ones you used to try and prevent."
"I've been hearing you guys all along, and..." An orange woman with fire hair came in.
"Flamuna?!" The mascots are shocked. "We thought we killed you!"
"No...!" Vinicius is enraged.
"I'm not that! Chya impersonated me!" Flamuna (the real one, spoileriffic three-fold!) complained! "You mascots! We thought you all perished!"
The mascots didn't react.
"Why..." The one with purple crystalline hair is sad. "It's us, Flamuna and Infinmenti... we're former enemies, turned friends of the Guardians of Light!"
"Oh great..." System, Angela, Roland and Ms. Continuum facepalmed.
