A/N:A/N: Ahhhh...I'm tired.
Life's been kicking my ass lately, and now my computer's being stupid. Siiiiiiigh.
Getting ready to update big stories soon, but I just want able to swing it today thanks to an early shift.
So today's a plot bin day; for this, and other stories. I whipped up these four last night -Shards of Shattering, Fragments of Remnant, Fragments of Arcane, and A Most Unlikely Collection- in an hour or so. I repeat, I should have the big guns ready pretty damn soon. Soo, here we go. As ever, I own no references, quotes, memes or themes.
Not a wit or a one. They're merely tributes to those far greater than I.
Hope this makes you smile in these trying times~!
"Life's like a star, when you think about it. We all burn bright, but we burn out sooner or later.
What? That seems sad? No! Wrong, wrong wrong! You're doing it all wrong!
The brightest of us don't fade away! We go out in a blaze of glory!
And from our deaths, new stars are born!"

Shooting Stars
A rather curious mystery had come to the Lands Between.
Not in the form of a disaster, but a miracle.
That of a shooting star.
"A baby?"
Rennala cooed softly. "He's adorable! Wherever did you find him?"
Marika sealed her lips shut. She couldn't well say the little lad had fallen from the sky. She and Godfrey had seen such, but she'd yet to swear him to silence. Her consort best keep his mouth. A child who crashed out of the very heavens...such would give others ideas. She mustn't let the Greater Will catch on...
.
..
...for if it did...well. The less said of that, the better.
A star falling from the cosmos; it had all the makings of an Outer God. she dare not think of such.
"Of course he is." And so Marika preened instead. "I found him by mine bedside when I woke. Why would he be anything less?"
"Surely you don't mean to say he was delivered by a stork...
Her face went scarlet. "Do you truly think me so foolish?! I know how conception works!
"Really?" Godfrey leaned over Marika's shoulder, and Maliketh with him. "I thought you said this lad fell from the sky-ach!"
Her husband gurgled as she elbowed him but it was too late, the damage done.
Truly?" Rennala prodded the babe with one finger. ""How did he survive?"
"He is no Omen, that much is certain," Radagon leaned around HER shoulder and dared to poke the babes cheek. "I suppose the children might have need of a servant-aargh?!" The little blond boy bit his questing digit and he recoiled with a hiss. "Blasted babe! Why did bite me?!
"Not a servant." Marika hummed. "He clearly disagrees."
Still, she rather liked the idea of Godwyn having a playmate. Her own son was only a few months old, as was Rennala's little Radahn. Not a servant for them, nay, but perhaps an attendant? A friend? Hmm. She would have to think on it later. For now she was too preoccupied fending off Renala. T'was HER child. She found him firs!
The little lad giggled gormlessly, and just like that the others were smitten.
Thus did a falling star come to the Lands Between.
He would be one hell of a butler.
A/N: Aaaaand scene.
Well? Did it bring a smile to your face? Did you like it? Yay or nay?
Once more, we're sticking with the "Embers" rule for this particular story, and others.
If folks don't like this, it won't be continued. Meaning that if the story itself ain't popular? POOF! Gone. Completely. I'm working two jobs -might need a third soon!- so I barely have time to write; as such, I cannot afford to write something folks don't enjoy. So by all means, speak up! Your voice matters! Make yourself heard! As ever, reviews are the fuel that sustain me. Without them I cannot write a single word. Simple as that. Working nearly all hours of the day keep me absurdly busy, and I can't bring myself to write something folks don't like.
Aaaand there we go. As ever, reviews keep me alive. Without them, I cannot write. So...in the Immortal Words of Atlas...
...Review...Would You Kindly? T_T
And enjoy some previews.
(Previews)
"Dodge, would you kindly?"
"Wait, what do you mean dodge-BWACK?!"
"Its nothing personal, Varre, actually, no. Its very persona. Die, you dirty maiden killer.
"You are not burning yourself to death. Absolutely not."
Melina didn't budge. This must be done, Tarnished. You cannot stop me."
"No, but I can spank you."
"You wouldn't dare!"
R&R~!
