Ch.3 Getting Ready to Move/Taking Harry Home

After leaving Gringotts Mr. and Mrs. Weasley took Harry and Ginny to their house, the Burrow. Upon arriving, Mrs. Weasley waved her wand and pots and pans started moving of their own accord. She pointed her wand toward the cupboard and food started to prepare and cook itself magically. Harry, who had never seen this before thought it was amazing. While the oldest three brothers were at school, Ginny's other three brothers were still at home. Mr. Weasley grabbed the three brothers, Fred, George, and Ron and asked them to come sit down so they could sit down and eat as a family. Upon their arrival in the kitchen, Mr. Weasley stated that the unknown boy in the house was Harry Potter and that they would be taking care of him until he was an adult. He also informed them that up until this point Harry had been living with his aunt and uncle and that they had been poorly taking care of him since his parents had died.

I know that all of y'all had been planning on hanging out with your friends this weekend but I need y'all to stay here and gather all of your belongings. Your older brothers, Bill, Charlie, and Percy will be coming home this weekend to help us pack up and move to Potter Manor, where we will be living from now on. We opened James and Lily's will while we were at Gringotts this afternoon and the will stated that Harry's guardians would be moving to potter manner to live there so that harry would be able to grow up with access to all of the things that belonged to him.

At one point, while Ginny, Harry, and Mrs. Weasley were working on things in the living area Ginny tripped and harry ran over to help her up. As he touched her to help her up the two children glowed a bright golden color for a couple of seconds. Mrs. Weasley wondered what this glow meant and decided that she would talk to someone about it later. Had Dumbledore still been available she would have reached out to him and sought his advice. She would ask her husband who he thought that she should talk to about it. The kids were aware of the glow but had no idea what it meant. Mrs. Weasley promised that she would tell them what it meant as soon as she found out.

When Mr. Weasley arrived home and his wife told him what happened he told his wife that it sounded like some sort of bond was created, but he was unsure what it meant. He would talk to Griphook about it when they went to Gringotts to discuss the results of Harry's ancestry test. By the time that Bill, Percy, and Charlie came home, the family was ready to move and they were just waiting on the three brothers to grab whatever they wanted to take with them to their new home.

Mr. Weasley explained to the family that they would be taking a new form of travel to Potter Manor since the Floo network had not been set up and the wards around Potter manor would not let anyone in unless a Potter was present and the wards have accepted him. Having never been to Potter Manor the wards have not been tied to Harry. They were told by Griphook that all that they had to do was have Harry touch the Potter Crest on the gate that enclosed the property and they would be able to enter. He also informed them that Gringotts was ready to discuss what his ancestry inheritance would include.

As soon as harry was on the property and the wards were attached to him the 10 people present could hear voices yelling "Master Harry, Master Harry". All of the people present were surprised to see that 5 short beings with pointy ears and what looked like pillow covers with holes created for their arms and heads. Seeing the look on Harry's face Mr. Weasley said "Harry these are house elves, they belong to your family and will do whatever you ask them to. I didn't know the Potter's had house elves." The oldest house elf said "while Harry is our master we will also listen to and obey all of Harry Potter's guardians and their family. I am Benjamin, this is my partner Autumn, and the remaining house elves are our kids, Elizabeth, Jennifer, and John. Mr. Weasley asked if instead of all of the house elves serving everyone if it was possible if they could have each house elf work for 2 of the people in the family. Benjamin replied that that was fine and wanted to know how they would choose who worked for who. Harry suggested that the two oldest elves worked for the oldest people in the family and they would move down from there. The family agreed so Benjamin would work for Molly and Arthur, Autumn would work for Bill and Charlie, John would work for Percy and Ron, Jennifer would work for the twins (Fred and George, and Elizabeth would work for Harry and Ginny. Over the next couple of days Autumn noticed that Harry never left Ginny's side and asked to speak with Arthur and Molly. She asked why Harry never seems to leave her side and they said they didn't know but Ginny was the first person that Harry met besides her parents and there was a weird glow around them once when Ginny had fallen and Harry helped her up. Autumn asked what color the glow had been, and Molly told her it had been golden and asked if the elf knew what that meant. Elizabeth said "I have never seen it, only heard about it but the glow means that Harry and Ginny are bonded. It means that from that point on they will be hard to separate. They will be the best of friends during their childhood and as they grow and mature they will not have eyes for anyone else. Once they go through puberty and start becoming interested in the opposite gender they will find that they have feelings for each other and will likely end up with each other." "Another important thing to take care of would be to talk to the Headmistress of Hogwarts about finding a way to make sure that both attend Hogwarts at the same time. Their magic will start merging and they will be as strong as the other person. They will not be able to be separated for the whole school year. Either Harry will have to be delayed or Ginny will have to go a year early.

Mr. Weasley decided that the family would take care of everything that they needed to on Tuesday. He had to inform the Ministry of the changes that would be happening on Monday. Tuesday they would start their morning off at Hogwarts, then they would go to Gringotts, and then Diagon Alley. The school-age brothers had permission to stay with the family until they got settled in and would be required to return to school on Wednesday. Mr. Weasley brought his copy of Lily and James's will with him when he talked to the head of the Magical Law Enforcement Office, Amelia Bones. She was shocked to read the will in its entirety. She had only seen the bit about Lily stating under no circumstances should Harry be left with his aunt and uncle. She said that she would investigate everything in the will and would make the necessary adjustments.

Later that night, while the family was eating what Mrs. Weasley and the house elves had prepared Harry looked at Molly and Arthur and then the elves and asked why the house elves must wear what they were wearing and not proper clothes. He was told that to give the elves clothes would mean that the elves were to be released from their service. Harry looked at the pillowcases in disgust and said, "what if we gave them clothes that weren't meant to release them, kind of like sports players and certain people wear.:" Everyone looked at Harry and thought about what he was saying. Charlie asked Harry "are you referring to something like a uniform." Harry nodded and they looked at the house elves for an answer as no one had seen anything like it before. Benjamin said, "as long as it is expressed to us that we are supposed to wear the clothes on a daily basis, and it is not meant as a form of releasing us from service I don't think there will be a problem." Mr. Weasley looked thoughtfully at the elves. This might be a point that should be brought up with Amelia. It would be quite interesting to see what would happen if we could get all house elves in uniforms instead of what they are currently wearing.

The family woke up early on Tuesday and got ready for the day Mr. Weasley, Harry, and Ginny would head to Hogwarts and Gringotts and the rest of the family would join them for lunch and then take care of the shopping for anything that they needed. When Mr. Weasley, Harry, Ginny, arrived at Hogwarts the school was releasing the kids from the great hall to go to their classes. Minerva looked at them and asked if they would be willing to follow her to her office. They agreed and followed her to the headmistress's office. Minerva asked Arthur what was going on and why he had brought the youngest member of his family and Harry. Arthur said "I recently found out from one of the Potter elves that Harry and Ginny have been bonded together and it is not a good idea if they were separated. Is there some way that the two can go to school at the same time, instead of the year apart?" I see no issue with it Minerva stated. "I have recently been in contact with a school that has their students start school at the age of four instead of eleven and they actually graduate at 14." I'm beginning to think that we may be wrong about how we address the education of our students. I am also looking into and evaluating our current staff. Thanks to the Potters I can make changes to the school that we were not able to do before. I will make sure that Ginny is added to the list of students that will be starting when Harry turns 11. Mr. Weasley smiled at the kids and could see that Ginny looked pleased. He asked what she was thinking. Ginny smiled and said "I get to go to school with Harry and Ron at the same time. I won't be left behind when Ron leaves.

Their next stop was Gringotts. They arrived and followed Griphook to the Potter meeting rooms near the vault that his parents had once owned, and they also moved Harry's trust vault as well as the Weasley vault to the same area. Once there Griphook began speaking "we have investigated the vaults and belongings of his ancestors and have found that a great deal of gold is being added to his vaults. The Gryffindor and Ravenclaw Vaults have added over 100 million to his vault and while the Peverell family adds no money he now owns three objects, two of which we do not know where they are. A cloak of invisibility which belonged to his father and has been passed down, the resurrection stone, and a wand made of Elder wood (it could also be referred to by many other names passed along in stories). We are currently unaware of the locations of the elder wand and the resurrection stone. We also have heir rings for Harry to put on. Harry was handed the Potter, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, and Peverell rings and put each of them on the four fingers of his right hand. As he did, they all started to glow and they floated off of his hand and floated in front of him. The four people watched in shock as the rings combined to form one ring. The band was made of solid gold and the Potter Crest was in the front while the crests of Gryffindor, Ravenclaw and Peverell were in the background. The Gryffindor Crest was sitting on top of a ruby, the Ravenclaw Crest a Sapphire, and the Peverell an onyx. Harry will become the Lord of each of these houses when he comes of age and will have control of those seats in the Wizengamot, until then he should have a proxy take care of his seats. We would suggest you be the proxy Arthur. The two of you would then be able to easily discuss whatever was going on. We also went a little further and have two more things to discuss. Due to his heirships, potter has the following powers and one unknown one which we can take care of. The powers are as follows: Natural Occlumency and Legilimency (skill unknown) Metamorphmagus (Blocked by Dumbledore) Parseltongue (Horcrux), Natural Animagus (skill unknown), Wandless Magic (unknown), Eidetic Memory (blocked by Horcrux). We have discovered that we can remove the horcrux and the block on his metamorph skills. It will only take ten minutes. For the metamorph block he can drink this potion. The horcrux would normally be dealt with by killing him but we have magical skills that allows us to transfer dark magic from things and should be able to do the same with Harry. The three agreed and Griphook asked Harry to sit down. Griphook then walked out the door and came back with four goblins and a normal goblet. They told Harry not to move and put their hands on him. Everyone watched as Harry immediately went still. Everyone was shocked as they saw a black substance like ink come out of his scar and watched as it was absorbed into the goblet. They threw the goblet into a metal trash can and watched as one of the four goblins pulled out a small flask and poured the contents onto the goblet and it dissolved with a loud scream. Harry immediately felt as if a weight had been taken off his shoulders and immediately felt better and could remember things that he hadn't been able to remember before. One of the magical goblins put a hand on him and concentrated. He told them that while the horcrux is gone, due to the eidetic memory Harry would still be able to use his parseltongue abilities.

Their next course of action would be to head to the vaults to pull money out for their shopping. At this point Harry asked if they had to come to the bank if he needed to pull money out. Griphook said that they have a couple of options he could choose from. He could get a bottomless money bag or he could get a bag that he would tell it the amount that he needed and he would be able to pull out exactly the amount that he needed. Harry decided he would get the bottomless bag and decided to get one for everyone. Once they took care of that they each went to the vaults and pulled money out. They allowed harry to pull out 5000 galleons and the Weasley pulled 1000 out for each of the family members to put into their bottomless bags. After lunch Mr. Weasley handed each person a bottomless bag and told them that they could go get whatever they needed as well as whatever they wanted.

Mr. Weasley went with Ron to do their shopping, Mrs. Weasley with Ginny and Harry, and the rest of the family went out on their own. The first place that Molly, Ginny, and Harry went to was Olivanders for a wand for each of them. They had trouble finding wands that would choose Ginny and Harry so Olivander mentioned that there was another thing that they could do, however, it would cost twice as much as a normal wand. He said that the two children could wave their hands of the raw materials (wood and cores) and he could custom make the wand for both to use. They agreed and Harry went first. As he waved his hand of the wood, he found that he felt the most from the Ebony wood and instead of one core there were two. The first core was phoenix feather, and the second core was basilisk horn. Mr. Olivander said "I have never seen these two cores together in a wand. Two cores are rare, but these cores contradict each other. This wand is going to produce very powerful magic. Just like Harry, Ginny's wand consisted of two cores. Her wand was made from Cherry wood and the cores were Phoenix feather and dragon heartstring. Due to their age, Mr. Olivander told them that spells would be added to their wands that would prevent them from doing magic unless there was an adult within 10 ft of them. Harry also asked what he was supposed to do with the wand when he wasn't using them, and he was told that most wizards have wand holsters on their lower arm and the wand springs into their hand when they need it. Harry bought 10 of them in 10 different colors. Harry chose dragonskin for the holsters and he chose purple, Ginny chose red, and the rest of the family could choose from what remained. The block on the wands would be removed as soon as the two children appeared on the Hogwarts Express.

After wand shopping the three of them chose to look for robes. Harry and Ginny each got two sets of robes in the following colors: red, blue green, purple, and gold. These robes had spells on them to help them last through any growth spurts that the children would have within a year's time. While they were there, they also requested a trunk that would serve multiple purposes. They found out that there was a style of trunk that had 7 compartments. These trunks could be furnished with whatever they wanted in each of the compartments. Both children decided to only furnish 2 of the compartments at this time. They chose a wardrobe for one of the compartments and a library for another one of the compartments. The trunks had several spells on them to better the function. Some of these spells included: making it lightweight, it could be shrunk and expanded so that it could fit in the pockets in their robes, they could put clothes/books inside and it would automatically sort it for them. If they needed clothes or books they could say what they wanted and it would appear. For example, if Harry said he wanted a transfiguration book, all the books involving transfiguration would appear in the compartment.

At this point, Harry looked at Molly and said, "I love to read but my relatives would never let me buy books. Can we go get some books?" Molly told him that they could and let him buy whatever books he wanted. Not knowing what he wanted. Harry grabbed several books from each of the areas in the store. Since Molly and Arthur had both gone to Hogwarts and had sent 5 of their 7 children to Hogwarts they already knew which books never changed. She made sure to grab all those books so that Harry could read them as well.

The last stop for the three of them was the owl emporium. Since there was so much for them to choose from it took them a long time for them to choose. Harry ended up choosing a Snowy white owl, which he ended up calling Hedwig and Ginny chose a reddish-brown owl, which she called Ares. They both made sure that they had plenty of food and treats for each of the owls.

Some of these ideas are like some of the ideas from other fanfictions. I tried to modify those ideas so that some of the things had my own personal touch to them. I will attempt to find the names of the fanfictions so that I can give them credit as well. The bond that I mentioned is like the way Jacob and Renesmee (not sure if I spelled that right) from the twilight saga were bonded. There was a fanfiction that snape became the guardian for Harry and he went to school in another country. This was the school that I was referring to when I mentioned that Minerva had been talking to someone at a school that started teaching kids at 4. I also got part of the idea of giving them wands at their age from that fanfiction. The next chapter will have a time jump and I will spend the first part in a flash back like setting describing some of the changes before the actual first book starts.
