A/N: Did I really sleep that long today? Guess I needed it.

Bloody hate isolating, I'm losing my mind here...and its starting to affect my work T_T

Gods Must Be Crazy is nearly ready BTW.

As is "Don't Judge a Book by its Cover, "Everybody Wants to be My Enemy" And "What Could Have Been" And lets not forget "One Helluva Team" or "Practice Makes Perfect" and the rest. After all, I'm updating other genres beside RWBY these days.

Updating so many things daily is really wearing on me, but I have miles to go and promises to keep...

As ever, I own no references, quotes, themes or memes.

Not a wit or a one! Lets all get along an have a good time, eh?

You can easily see which story *cough* Partners in Crime *cough* this is from. I'm not being subtle.

"Sometimes, hope is all we have. Hope in a better tomorrow.

Hope in the future. Hope in...well.

See for yourself.

Eye of the Beholder (Fragment)

"What's taking them so long?"

"Now, now," Roman patted him on the shoulder. "You know how these things are."

...I really don't." Naruto gave him a black look. "Why did I agree to this shindig again? It doesn't even make any sense!"

"C'mon, don't be that way! You're star of the show! None of this would've happened without you!"

"Its only a festival for cryin' out loud! Why do they have to go and get dolled up for it...?"

The master criminal merely tutted. "You'll understand someday.

Naruto most certainly did not, but he settled in to wait regardless. Really, he didn't see what all the fuss was about. It was just a festival. Neo and Sienna certainly wasn't dressing up for it. Why was everyone else? If they thought for one second that they were going to shove him into one of those outfits, they had another thing coming...!

"How do I look?"

Naruto looked up with a start.

Sasuke gave a low whistle in the back of his head.

Glynda stepped out from behind the folding screen, clad not in a dark dress as one might expect, but in something far more familiar. His mouth went dry at the sight, and not for the reasons one might expect.

She was wearing a violet kimono. An honest to goodness festival kimono, the like of which contrasted her eyes quite nicely. She'd let her hair down again but differently this time, allowing it to fall loosely over her right shoulder in a clasp rather than cascade wildly down her back. It reminded him of his world, of home, of a life he'd never see again. But maybe that wasn't so bad. But where was...?

Satin edged out behind her, long ears drooping over her head, nearly hiding her eyes.

"Huh." he croaked, stunned at what she wore. "Red's a good color on you."

The children took one look at her and went absolutely mad.

"Pretty!" Emerald found her voice first.

Velvet and Klee clapped rapidly as a stunned Adam looked on with Blake.

"Adam, I want one of those."

"What, a kimono? I don't see why-ow! Blake! Don't pinch my arm!"

"Tch." Somewhere behind them, he could've sworn he heard Sienna tut softy. "I've got competition...

Glynda ignored her and looked away, her cheeks dusted a light pink. "I look ridiculous, don't I? Maybe I should change.

Satin agreed wholeheartedly. "This is too much, why did we even listen to Kali?!"

Naruto rushed forward before she could finish.

He cupped each of their hands in his.

"You're perfect. Both of you."

A/N: There we go. Short, sweet, and adorable.

...who are you?"

Her unlikely lowered his blade.

Mismatching eyes of violet and red-black met hers. He flicked his sword and the Grimm slid off it. Its corpse struck the dirt and crumbled away to nothingness in the Emerald Forest. In a single fluid movement the young man sheathed his long blade, never once looking back at her.

Raven whistled. "Well, hello there...

"Hnn. You shouldn't be here." His reply was not one she expected. "And who taught you how to use that sword? You're sloppy."

Indignation sputtered to life. "Excuse you?! I'm one of the top students in Beacon!"

The young man -Sasuke!- blinked at her.

Silence squirmed between them.

...what's a Beacon?"

Obito clicked his tongue in disapproval.

"No."

Salem tilted her head from her throne. "I beg your pardon? Choose your words carefully, boy, lest we leave as enemies."

"I said no. Negatory. Not happening. You want this world to END. That's not peace. That's not saving anyone. I won't help you. In fact...

The air began to swirl between them.

"I'm about to do the opposite!"

Robyn leaned back in her chair and crossed one leg over the other.

"You've been making waves down here in Mantle, kid." Violet eyes pierced him. "Who are you?"

Tan fingers tugged back his cowl. Her own face stared back at her, wearing a smile she never would. She recoiled with a start, only for it to vanish in a plume of smoke.

"What the devil?!"

"Devil?" blue eyes squinted at her through the fading haze, framed by whiskered cheeks, tawny blond hair, and a roguish grin. "I've been called that before. Now? Just Naruto will do."

"And what do

"You're helping people down here. I want to help you."
