A/N: Quick update!
Doctor of Demons and Set Your Heart Ablaze are coming along nicely. Should be able to update them Wednesday or Thursday.
Maybe both, if I really push myself.
So with that said, I'm updating this and Fragments of Arcane to tide you over in the meantime. Both. Today!
Have mercy on me with the requests! I'm begging you, here!
A man needs to finish his stories!
As ever, the Embers rule Remains; sad as that may sound, its the truth. If folks don't like this story...well, it won't be continued. I haven't the time to write something folks don't like. Two jobs keep me terribly busy as such that I have barely any time to write. I've got so many people spamming requests; its making my head spin.
As ever, I own no quotes, references, themes or memes. Not a wit or a one! Hope you enjoy!
So here, have this teaser for Weapon Masters of Remnant.
Not publishing this one unless folks really want to see it; I've, already done enough new stories this month...
"Some say weapons are a reflection of the soul. They'd be right.
Weapons aren't just a tool, they're an expression of you.
So? What does your weapon say about you?"
~?
Weapon
"Is it ready?!"
Naruto didn't answer.
"Old man?" a hand waved. "You there? Helllo?"
"Call me old again and you won't get your scythe, Ruby."
"M'sorry...
"Don't be sorry. Be better."
Naruto rolled his eyes and turned the mass of metal over in the forge. Keen blue eyes roved over its slender form, searching for defects and finding none. Satisfied with the basic form, he took up his hammer and went to work. He swung it once as his guests looked on, then twice, thrice now, molding it into the desired shape. With a casual flick of his wrist he laid it out on the table and pushed cooling chakra into it. Metal hissed and spat, but held, just as it always did.
That was the crafting complete. Now to draw the weapon from within.
"Here," Tenten slipped into his side while he worked, body melting against his. "You missed a spot."
He didn't miss her smile as her full hip pushed against him, nor when she sat in his lap. Her rear ground against him. Bloody temptress. She knew what she was doing.
Setting his hammer aside, he laid hands upon the metal. His wife did the same, tan palms touching his own across the metal, willing it into the shape she desire. Her chakra mixed and mingled with his, and together they accomplished in a matter of moments what should have taken hours. Days.
A young Yang cooed a little from where she sat in the corner. "Alright, that's awesome. How the hell are ya doing that? Is it a Semblance or something?"
Tenten scoffed. "Or something."
"Cool!" Yang pumped a fist in the air. "Me next!"
Naruto glared at her.
"Oi!"
Their weapons were no mere tools. They had souls. Purpose. Chakra breathed life and spirit into cold steel, united with aura. One could not rush such. This was not a weapon they were making, this was a partner for a girl who would one day be a huntress. He felt the weapon come alive in their hands, experienced the moment of its "birth" as keenly as if it were his own. Five minutes later, it was done. It would still need a coat of paint and a proper barrel to meld with the mechashit, but the basics were finished.
"Is it done?!" Ruby all but twisted in place, silver eyes shining with glee. "Can I hold it?"
Naruto shooed Tenten off his lap and held the scythe out. "If she lets you...
Ruby blinked. "She?"
Tenten smiled softly. "Why don't you hold her and see for yourself."
She did. Something sparked. Silver eyes widened.
"I can hear a voice...
"Good. What's she saying to you?"
"Rose." a joyful tear ran out her left eye. "Her name is Crescent Rose...
A/N: Aaaaand there we go.
As ever, the Embers rule Remains. If folks don't like this story...well, it won't be continued. Strange as it might sound, live for reviews and feedback; without them, I simply can't write a single word. So by all means! Speak up! Really, that's no joke. Your feedback is the reason this story continues. Ever bit helps. It keeps me going in these crazy times. So by all means! Speak up! No review is too short or too small!
As ever, read the previews before you review, please.
So In the Immortal Words of Atlas...
...Review, Would You Kindly?
(Previews)
For random things.
"Where are they?!"
"Up your arse and around the corner."
"How can you laugh in the face of death like its funny?!"
"Because it is!" Naruto -or was it Ozma?- spread his arms wide, grinning as the sword tickled the underside of his chin. "Sure, I'm dying. No denying it. Ozma, too. This body's old. But you'll never get those kids now. And by the time you find 'em?" he grinned, revealing missing teeth, not from their battle, but the ravages of age. "They'll be able to fight for themselves. So go on." a lone finger rose in a snarky salute. "Kill me. Us. Maybe this time it'll stick."
They both knew it wouldn't.
"I loathe you. Both of you. I absolutely DESPISE you."
"Awww," her prisoner cooed. "We love you, too. No need to be a tsundere about it."
Damn Naruto. Damn Ozma. Damn the unholy union that was their misbegotten soul. They'd won. He'd bought time for those children to escape. All her plans for naught. Decades of subterfuge wasted. He'd hidden them from her, just as he'd spirited their children away on that awful day. It would be wise to capture him -them!- now, to keep them from reincarnating...was what she would have said, if she weren't so furious. Killing him would only grant them a younger, stronger body. She knew this. And yet!
The Relic of Destruction slammed down, lopping his neck from his shoulders.
His severed head laughed as it soared through the air.
"See you around...Salem."
Raven sputtered. "When did you have a kid? Or a wife?!"
"Since last year? We're still on honeymoon.
"Albedo, be a dear and help me with little Miranjo, will you?"
"Of course, my lord!"
"Don't go calling me that, will ya?"
R&R~!
