Off To Tahiti Part 3

"Cheetah... Cheetah..." Alan mumbled once more.

Valerie felt Alan's forehead, "Looks like his fever's gone back up." she observed.

"Poor Bro, but how?" Anne asked.

Tom looked above Alan's bed.

"I believe that someone left the opening in the stone structure unfastened, thus allowing the perceptible natural movement of the air to venture in and make our sibling's condition worsen." Tom said.

"English, Genius!" Anne exclaimed.

"I believe he said someone left Alan's window open." Valerie translated.

Everyone noticed Alan's window was left wide open, allowing the cold wind to make him colder and sicker.

Tom closed the window, "Now what miscreant left this window open knowing Alan is sick?" he asked.

Chu Chu's barking was heard, everyone looked down to see the Chan's pet Pekingese holding a fancy dress in his mouth.

Anne saw Chu Chu with the dress in his mouth, "Chu Chu, what are you doing in here... holding a dress?" she asked curiously.

"Hey, that's one of Alexandra's dresses." Alexander observed.

At that moment, Alexandra entered the room from out in the hallway.

"Hey, what's all the noise? And what is that four-legged mop doing with my dress?" Alexandra demanded to know.

"Better question, what is your dress doing in my brother's room?" Anne challenged Alexandra.

Alexandra snatched her dress from Chu Chu, "I left it here to dry." she replied.

"Why didn't you put it in the dryer?" Alexander asked Alexandra, annoyed with her.

"Hello? The tag says I need to hang it out to dry, so, I opened the window in here to help it dry faster." Alexandra explained.

"Why didn't you open your window and hang it in your room?" Anne asked Alexandra.

"And risk getting sick? No way!" Alexandra exclaimed.

"Well, thanks a lot! You've made Alan even more sick!" Anne said to Alexandra, her voice dripping with anger and sarcasm.

"He was already sick anyway, what difference does it make?" Alexandra asked.

"It makes a world of difference, Sister Dear." Alexander said.

Alexandra started leaving the room.

"I hope that mutt didn't get any slobber on my dress, more importantly, I hope none of Hippie-Boy's sick germs got on it." Alexandra grumbled to herself.

Once she was sure Alexandra left the room, Anne got really steamed.

"Ooh! I can't believe her!" Anne growled, getting hotter under the collar.

"Annie... Annie..." Alan groaned.

"Never mind Alexandra, Anne, Let's just focus on Alan, you and Tom go downstairs to get some soup and orange juice while I try to warm him back up." a female voice said.

Rosa was standing in the doorway to her third adopted son's bedroom.

"Got it, Rosa." Anne said.

"Affirmative." Tom agreed.

"I'll go with you guys and help." Alexander offered.

"Thanks, Alex." Anne said.

"It's the least I can do." Alexander said.

"And I'll stay and help you, Missis Chan." Valerie offered.

"Thanks, Valerie." Rosa said.

After Alan's window was shut tightly and locked and Alan had his hot Earl Grey tea with honey and lemon and was fast asleep, everyone else had gone back to bed for the night.

The next morning on their way to the airport bright and early in the Chan van, Anne and Tom filled the rest of their siblings in on what had happened the previous night.

"That Cabot girl has some nerve!" Suzie exclaimed.

"I knew that dame was trouble!" Flip exclaimed.

Charlie and Rosa looked toward the back seats.

"Please, children, we're on vacation." Charlie chided.

"Let's not hold grudges." Rosa reminded.

"Okay, Pop, okay, Rosa." Anne, Suzie, and Flip sighed.

When they reached the airport, Henry converted the Chan van into a wheelchair for Alan to sit in so they could go inside with their luggage.

"Here we are at the airport, in just a few hours, we'll be sitting back and relaxing in Tahiti." Suzie said.

The Chan family and the Pussycats stopped at a cafe within the airport.

"I'm sure glad you're doing a lot better now." Anne said to Alan gently.

"No thanks to Alexandra." Alan croaked, his throat was still really sore.

Suddenly, the waitress at the airport cafe arrived with breakfast for the Pussycat crew and the Chan family.

"Here is your breakfast, Mister and Missis. Chan." the waitress said.

"Thank you, madam." Charlie said.

"You're welcome." the waitress said, going to serve the Pussycats their food.

After Josie and her Pussycat friends received their food, Suzie gave each member of her family their breakfast bag.

"Let's see, Pop gets the sausages and scrambled eggs, Rosa gets the crepes filled with strawberries, blueberries, marionberries, raspberries, and Greek yogurt, while Henry and Stanley both get the bacon and eggs." Suzie said.

"Eggs-actly, heh heh heh!" Stanley laughed.

"Oh, brother." Henry groaned, clearly annoyed.

"Alan, you get the oatmeal drizzled with honey and a small cup of orange juice, they should help your cold." Suzie said.

"Thanks, Suzie." Alan croaked.

"Anne gets the ham and cheese croissant, Tom gets the sausage and egg croissant, Flip gets the French toast, Mimi gets the omelet, and Scooter and I each get an order of blueberry pancakes topped with Greek yogurt and granola." Suzie said.

Anne noticed a large bag that was untouched by her eldest sister.

"Hey, what's in the big bag?" Anne asked Suzie curiously.

"Oh, just some strawberry pancakes, waffles, honey biscuits, more scrambled eggs, tater tots, extra bacon, and a few cinnamon rolls." Suzie answered Anne.

"Geez, who gets that?" Flip asked.

"Nancy." Suzie answered Flip.

Nancy licked her lips, "Oh, boy! Just what I asked for!" she exclaimed.

Flip rolled his eyes, "It figures, it figures." he groaned irritably.

As the Chans began to dine, Nancy noticed a raw bone left on the serving tray.

"Hey, the waitress left a bone there." Nancy observed.

"Oh, this is for Chu Chu, I asked the waitress for something to give him and she suggested a raw lamb bone," Suzie answered Nancy, giving the bone to the family dog. "here you go, Boy."

Instantly, Chu Chu started gnawing on the delicious bone.

After breakfast was finished, the Pussycats and Chan clan hurriedly grabbed their luggage and boarded their plane to Tahiti.
