Different Activities For Everyone
After checking into their hotel suites later that morning, Alexander and Valerie decided to hit the book festival, Alexandra, Alan, Sebastian, and Josie decided to go horseback riding, while Melody decided to hang out with the Chan family at the beach.
Each member of the Chan family found something to keep them occupied, Charlie and Rosa relaxed under a large beach umbrella, Henry and Stanley went scuba diving, Tom went surfing, Anne relaxed with Alan on the shoreside, Suzie walked off to perform a lifeguard shift, Flip and Scooter went kayaking, Nancy was hunting for edible clams in the water, and Melody and Mimi were making sand castles with Chu Chu.
Suzie was sitting in her lifeguard's chair, "What a great way to start off a vacation, a beautiful day at the beach. I couldn't think of anything better." she said.
At that precise moment, a handsome, familiar figure approached Suzie.
"Hey there." the voice said.
Suzie noticed the person, "Oh, boy! I stand corrected." she said.
To her surprise, Prince Hareem had just arrived at the beach.
"Greetings, Suzie, I didn't expect to see you here, what a surprise." Hareem said.
"Oh, my family and I are here with our friends on vacation, Hareem, I got a job as a lifeguard just to make a little extra spending cash and to make it more interesting for me, and believe me, I'm glad I did." Suzie said.
"I was planning to take a nice stroll around the beach. I'd be honored if you would join me unless you're busy, of course." Hareem said.
"Oh, no, I'm not busy at all, and I'm sure nothing will happen while I'm gone, I'd be more than happy to join you." Suzie said to Hareem.
With Prince Hareem holding her hand, Suzie walked off, they soon passed Alan and Anne, who immediately noticed them.
"Hey, isn't that Prince Hareem?" Alan asked Anne.
"Sure is, who knew he'd be here?" Anne answered.
"Beats me." Alan said, reaching to the sky stretching his arms.
Prince Hareem and Suzie continued to walk on, holding hands and giggling.
"Ah, mush!" Anne exclaimed, Alan could tell that Anne was pretending to be disgusted.
"You know, you don't have to waste your vacation sitting here with me, Anne, you can go off and surf like you wanted." Alan said gently.
"Ah, no worries, I can surf later, we got plenty of time." Anne said to Alan.
All of a sudden, Anne and Alan heard a voice screaming, "YIKES!"
Upon looking ahead of them, Anne and Alan saw Tom washed up onshore after a large wave knocked him off his surfboard.
"Are you all right?" Alan asked Tom.
"It appears I may have underestimated that wave a little." Tom groaned with irritation.
"Besides, I'm having plenty of fun right here watching Tom make wipeouts!" Anne told Alan while laughing.
"I've had enough surfing for a while," Tom said. "I'm going to help Mimi, Chu Chu, and Melody with their sand castle."
After Tom walked off, Anne decided to sing for Alan.
Anne: Aloha ʻoe, aloha ʻoe;
E ke onaona noho i ka lipo;
Alan sang back to Anne.
Alan: One fond embrace;
A hoʻiaʻeau;
Now, Alan and Anne sang together.
Alan and Anne: Until we meet again.
Unknown to the Chan twins, the daughter of the hotel owners was watching them while picking coconuts.
Anne spotted the girl who dropped her coconuts as she ran from the scene.
Later on at the hotel gift shop, Alan, Tom, and Anne were looking for postcards to send to their boyfriend and girlfriends back home in the United States of America.
"Where are the postcards?" Anne asked.
"I have no clue." Tom answered Anne.
Suddenly, a Tahitian girl showed up.
"The postcards are right over there." the girl answered Anne and Tom.
"Thanks... hold the phone! You're the girl from the beach who heard Alan and me sing Aloha ʻOe!" Anne exclaimed.
"I'm Heirani Babineaux, my parents own the hotel, who are you?" Heirani asked Anne.
"I'm Anne Chan, and this is my younger brother, Tom." Anne answered Heirani.
"Nice to meet you both." Heirani said.
"Likewise." Tom said.
"There's a luau tonight, and I'm hoping to see you and your family and friends there!" Heirani exclaimed.
"Sounds great!" Anne exclaimed.
"Indeed, I shall go inform the rest of our kin and companions, perhaps we can all do a performance tonight." Tom said.
"Great idea!" Anne said to Tom.
"I'll be back in no time flat!" Tom said.
Once Tom had left, Anne sat down on a bench alongside Heirani.
"So, Heirani, right? Your folks run the hotel? That's pretty neat." Anne complimented.
"Thanks, but you got a pretty cool family yourself, I noticed your father is Mister Charlie Chan, the famous detective, not only that, you know Josie and the Pussycats too, I just love their music! Josie's my favorite of the cats. Don't you just love the way she sings?" Heirani asked Anne.
"Oh, yeah, she's my favorite, too, especially since she plays such a mean guitar, Valerie and Melody are tied my second favorite, Melody's not exactly the brightest girl I've ever met, but definitely the nicest, and Valerie is a true artist with mechanical tools, a lot like my dear older twin brother."
"Really?" Heirani asked Anne.
"Yeah, hey, maybe you can meet them at the luau tonight." Anne answered.
"Oh, thanks! I'd love that!" Heirani exclaimed.
"I just hope my brother will feel well enough to come." Anne said to Heirani.
"Hmm? The one you were singing with?" Heirani asked Anne.
"Yeah, he has a small cold, he's well enough to walk around, but I don't know if he's well enough to do a gig." Anne sighed.
"A cold, huh? Maybe I can help." Heirani said to Anne.
"I'll tell you at the luau, well, I'll see you tonight, Anne." Heirani said.
"Okay, see you later, Heirani." Anne said.
After paying for the postcards, Anne went back to her family's suite to check up on Alan as well as to get ready for the luau that night.
