Chapter One

Location: Earth-307

In another time, in another space, in another Earth, a silent war continued to brew. A war between heroes and villains, superheroes and supervillains, the Justice Underground and the Crime Syndicate.

Somewhere underground, a bright swirling vortex opened out, a portal to another world. Observing this was a lone human donned in a tight azure super-suit with a lantern-like symbol on his chest, powered by a glowing ring on his right ring finger, embedded with the exact same symbol. As he stared in quiet awe and curiosity, a sudden quake accompanied by deep rumbling close by, ruptured him out of daze. He quickly looked and scanned all about, raising up his ringed hand in preparation for any attack.

Behind him, a wall exploded, erupting and crumbling down into mere dust and smoke, as it forced back the Azure Lantern unto the ground. Soon enough, he inched himself back up, coughing as he attempted so, before seeing the exact cause of such disruption. As the dusty smoke cleared, a silhouette appeared into view, gradually peering into the light of the portal and unveiling himself. A male human in a similar suit as Azure Lantern, but in a more sickly-yellowish-green colour scheme and with a very different symbol on his chest, ring, and staff.

Instantly recognising such a foe, the Azure Lantern projected light constructs from his ring that quickly formed into a blade and shield. Unthreatened, the Lime Lantern raised his staff which projected a vast array of small arrows, all surrounding and aiming at the posed Azure Lantern before firing at once. Valiantly, the Azure Lantern swung and deflected as much as he could before flying back for the portal.

The Lime Lantern still stood and stared, unfazed and indifferent as usual, before emitting another ray of light construct from his staff which formed into a thin, sharp, lance-like weapon that darted forth and launched right threw the Azure Lantern's back just right before he completely disappearing into the portal. Upon detecting a life-form entering and exiting through such, the portal itself soon shut off altogether, leaving behind the Lime Lantern, alone and yet still unhindered.
