With their noses stuck in books and magazines, no one came bothering the trio. It was nice to have some moments of peace without Jay making an ass out of himself. Every once in a while, he would turn the magazine around, showing Silent Bob whatever girl he had something to say about.

"Dude, this looks like your mom."

The stoner showed his friend. Silent Bob lowered his book to see. Giving his friend some credit, he nodded in agreement. Bess couldn't help but look at the picture curiously. A woman with long black hair, looking… not so appealing. That was how Jay and Silent Bob saw the mute man's mother? Bess couldn't help but raise her eyebrow at the two. At least she knew what to expect if she were to meet the woman.

The three of them were startled when they heard footsteps running toward them and a pair of hands grabbing onto them. Jay and Silent Bob raised their fists, ready to fight whoever it was, freezing when they saw it was just TS.

"I've been looking all over for you guys", he panted.

"We're hiding", Jay explained.

"In a bookstore?"

"Last place anyone would think looking for me and these bitches."

Silent Bob looked at his friend and for once, through all the insults thrown all day, that one got to him. He was including Bess into the mix by calling her a bitch.

"I need your help", TS said getting their attention.

"Yeah, what?"

Jay was honestly getting a little tired. This was the fourth person that asked them for help that day. What were they? A couple of pansies that everyone expected their chores done by them? This was ridiculous.

"You up for getting stoned?" the college student asked, trying to appease them.

"Look who you're asking", the blonde answered.

"I have a better idea to sabotage that game show. You are going to supply the weed."

"Alright, now we're talking!" Jay smirked, walking away with TS.

Bess shook her head with a smile. Jay seemed so full of energy whenever it came to something exciting like getting baked. She looked over to Silent Bob who still looked hurt by his friend's statement. Concerned, she reached her hand over, touching his cheek, her fingers running through his thick beard. Dealing with Jay was a tiring job.

It was just the two of them. Bess didn't want to see Silent Bob looking upset from his friend's words. She took his hand, leading him out of the bookstore, looking for something else to do. Getting an idea, Bess pointed to Silent Bob's coat. The two of them had nothing but time on their hands. Maybe he could practice that Jedi mind trick without Jay hounding on him this time.

"Hey, Silent Bob!"

The two mutes turned to see Tricia approaching, her notebook in hand.

"Have you given any thought to my proposal?" the teenage girl asked. "Will you help me with the camera setup?"

Silent Bob shook his head with a shrug. With everything going on today, he hadn't thought about it at all. Tricia looked at the two, noticing they were holding hands, something she had missed earlier in the day.

"I'm sorry, am I interrupting something?" she asked, not wanting to crash a date.

For once, Bess began to relax. She knew Tricia wasn't asking Silent Bob to sleep with her. The teenager was creepy for sleeping with older guys, but it looked like she knew her limits. Bess shook her head, answering Tricia.

"What are you guys doing, then?" Tricia asked.

Silent Bob smiled, wanting to amuse her. He took a cigarette out of his pocket, laying it in the girl's hand. Bess and Tricia watched as he looked at it with great concentration, trying to move it like they could in the movies. Bess watched her so-called boyfriend with great admiration. Silent Bob was trying as hard as he could, just trying to believe he could be like famous movie characters. He was just so sweet.

"I think I felt it move!" Tricia said surprising the two of them. "Just kidding…"

Silent Bob shook his head in disappointment. It was shortly lived when they saw Brodie approaching Tricia.

"Tricia, I've been looking for you", he panted. "I need your help."

"With what?"

"Let me borrow that tape of Shannon Hamilton."

"Why?" Tricia gasped.

That tape was highly classified. As part of the research for her book, the teenage girl slept with the manager of one of the shops of the mall, Shannon Hamilton. He was way over the age of 18 and it was going to mean big trouble if anyone saw that tape.

"It's important!" Brodie insisted. "The future of my relationship depends on it!"

"It's at my house!" Tricia answered.

"Take TS' car", he pulled the keys out of his pocket. "The yellow station wagon parked in 2D."

"I don't even have a license!" she continued making up excuses.

"Just go!"

Brodie pushed her aside before turning to Silent Bob. There was still more work that had to be done.

"Still got that stage schematic? I need you to wire something for me."

With no words, Silent Bob pulled back his coat. Prepared for anything, he pulled a pair of pliers from his shoe, ready to work.
