"Uh-uh, go back further! Whoever it was came right after Sam." Tina said, grabbing Sheila's phone.

"RIGHT THERE!" Harmony shouted, pausing the video. "See… the girl in the blue. She pushed Rachel and that's how the drink got spilled on Cedes!"

Sheila narrowed her eyes, looking at the girl in the video before frowning. "But that doesn't tell me who she is or why she pushed… wait who in the hell invited Rachel's annoying ass?"

Tina snickered. "You're getting off topic."

"No, this needs to be answered because Rachel's ass is really annoying so why would she even be invited here?" Sheila replied. "In the words of Cardi, that's weird… that's suspicious."

Kurt nodded, tapping the phone. "She's right, Rachel is annoying and there's no reason for her to actually be here because half the people in here can't stand her."

Harmony nodded. "Wait, do you think someone invited her just to do that?"

"Nah." Jake said, handing Sheila a drink. "She's with Finn, see." He pointed across the room. They looked in the direction he pointed, seeing the tall guy with Rachel.

"I didn't even know about this!" Kurt spat. "How the heck are we going to be step brothers if he doesn't tell me these things? Well, I'm gonna find out." He said, walking over to them.

"I knew I liked him! Hell yeah." Sheila said, right as Mercedes and Sam came back from the bathroom.

"Hey girl, you okay?" Tina asked, giving her a half hug.

"Cold but okay…" Mercedes replied, sighing. "Maybe I should-"

Her friends immediately shook their heads. "Uh-uh, you are not going anywhere. We're not going to let this crap ruin your night." Tina said.

"Right, it's just a little drinky-drink. You're gonna be sweating from all that dancin' we're about to do anyway." Sheila chimed in.

Sam nodded. "I can give you my shirt. I'm wearing two." He offered, taking his off his flannel and handing it to her. "Besides, you still gotta show me those moves."

Mercedes blushed, taking his shirt. "Thanks, I really appreciate it guys."

Kurt came back over shaking his head. "So here's the tea, Rachel and Finn got together because someone set them up on a blind date." He explained, leaning in so no one else could hear the rest. "Finn told me that he thought he was getting a date with Jennifer Conner but Rachel showed up instead."

Sheila sucked her teeth. "Now you see why I hate that bitch. You need to get your harem in control, pretty boy. Come on, I'm grabbing another drink." She said, grabbing Jake's hand and walking away.

Tina rolled her eyes. "I like this one so get it together, Evans." She said, "I'll get you another drink, girl."

Sam sighed, looking at Mercedes apologetically. "I promise my life has never been this.. Chaotic."

She smirked. "So what you're saying is, I'm the reason for all the drama?"

He chuckled. "You know all these problems started when you fell on me,so just maybe."

Playfully, she shoved him. "Wow, not even gonna sugarcoat it? Here I thought, you might actually like me."

He stepped closer, grinning. "Dance with me and maybe I'll change my mind."

"Look at them… just too cute." Harmony said to Mike.

Mike snorted. "I don't think I've ever seen him act like that. Is that how me and T act?"

"Hell no! You two were more like horny teenagers, those two are sugar sweet lie diabetes!" Sheila piped in, shaking her head. "I can't believe that bitch had Rachel spill a drink on my girl."

Jake smirked. "She's got that look on her face." He said, leaning in and nipping at her neck. "She's plotting something dangerous."

Tina smirked. "If it involves humbling Jen, then I'm down but not now. Let's enjoy this party first."

They all nodded, heading back to where Mercedes and Sam were dancing. Sheila handed Mercedes her drink and they all started dancing and enjoying themselves. Mercedes once again found herself completely at ease with her new group of friends and even more with Sam. She'd been laughing at his antics and before any of them knew it a few drinks had been shared between the group and Tina was the first to realize that they hadn't been monitoring which cups they were giving to Mercedes.

"Holy shit!" Tina said, swaying with Mike. "I think we got Cedes tipsy!"

"Huh?" He shouted, the music had gotten louder over time so he pulled her closer. "What'd you say?"

"Cedes' is tipsy!" Tina shouted.

Mike laughed. "Nah! She's good, see?" He replied, pointing at Sam and Mercedes. Tina looked, blinking before snickering.

"I like your impressions." Mercedes said laughing after Sam did an impression of James Earl Jones.

Sam smiled. "I don't really get to do it that much, good to know it's a hit… might need to take this act on the road."

"I'll sing, you make them laugh." She replied, taking another sip of her drink. "I'm not sure what kind of punch this is but I like it!"

Sam grabbed her cup, sniffing before his eyes grew wide. "Shit, there's alcohol in this."

Mercedes gasped before narrowing her eyes. "Sheila." She said before bursting into a fit of giggles. "She has been giving me drinks all night thinking they didn't have any in it and all this time…" She trailed off laughing even more.

He shook his head, smiling. "Of course you'd be a happy drunk." He teased.

Mercedes gave him a mock glare before taking another sip from her cup, which was nearly empty now. "Hey now, I can handle my liquor just fine!" She declared proudly, stumbling slightly as she waved her cup around for emphasis.

"Alright y'all, know what time it is!" Anthony shouted, getting everyone's attention. "KARAOKEEEEE! And you know I pick who sings what, so get ready!"

Everyone cheered in excitement and gathered around the karaoke machine that was set up in the corner. Mercedes and Sam were grinning at each other as they waited for Anthony to pick a song. He chose an old classic, punching in the numbers before looking out at everyone as he decided who would be his first victim.

"So who's the lucky one?" Anthony swaggered through the group of onlookers, a wide grin on his face. His eyes were alert and dancing over every person's face. Then suddenly he stopped, and his eyes locked on Mercedes's. He raised one eyebrow, leaned in closer, and asked in a low voice filled with anticipation, "Let's see what you got!"

Mercedes glanced sheepishly at her friends as they all nodded encouragingly. Taking a deep breath, she reached out to take the mic from Anthony and followed him up to the make shift stage.

"Go Mercy!" Tina shouted from the crowd, causing Mercedes to blush and laugh nervously. She cleared her throat and looked out at the audience before starting to sing.

Quinn walked into the party, fashionably late per usual. She glanced around the room before making her way through the crowd of faces until she got to the circle everyone had formed around Mercedes and Anthony. Quinn raised an eyebrow, curious as to what exactly was going on.

Anthony shouted out it was time for karaoke and Quinn couldn't help the grin that spread across her face. She loved karaoke and had been known to be quite a beast at it, especially at Anthony's parties. She started to volunteer but then frowned when he handed the mic to Mercedes instead. Rolling her eyes and smirking, Quinn knew that there was no way Mercedes could go through with singing in front of so many people so she pulled out her phone and started to record, wanting to see how long it would take for Mercedes to back out. But much to Quinn's surprise, Mercedes started to sing.

"I don't mind… letting ya down easy, just give it time." Mercedes sang, nervously clenching the mic. "If it don't hurt now then just wait a while… you're not the big fish in the pond no more. You're what they're feeding on!"

"Sing girl!" Sheila shouted, making her snicker.

Her body instinctively started bobbing along with the music as she sang, "So what are you gonna do when the world son't orbit around you?" She opened her eyes and found herself surrounded by an enthusiastic crowd that happily picked up when the chorus began.

"Ain't it fun, livin' in the real world! Ain't it good bein all alone!" The energy in the room was contagious, and Mercedes felt herself growing more confident as she continued to perform.

"Where ya from you might be the one who's running things. Well you can ring anybody's bell and get what you want." She sang, starting to move her hips along with the beat. "You see it's easy to ignore trouble when you're living in a bubble!"

Mercedes continued to move and sing, her confidence growing with every beat. She felt like the center of attention, and as the crowd sang along with her she was filled with a sense of power and joy.

She was truly in her element now, her thoughts and worries pushed to the back of her mind as she let the music take control. this time louder everyone joined in with her as she sang the bridge, "Don't go cryin' to your moma cause you're on your own, don't go cryin' to your moma cause you're on your own.." She smiled, pointing the mic at the crowd of people feeling a rush over her as they continued to sing the bridge.

As the song came to an end, Mercedes was met with thunderous applause and cheers from the crowd. She could feel her heart racing in her chest as she soaked up their enthusiasm and energy. She felt liberated in a way that she had never experienced before.

"That was amazing!" Sam said, pulling Mercedes a hug. Mercedes blushed before their friends circled around them, raving about her performance.

Quinn couldn't believe it, as she watched Mercedes accept the praise of everyone in the room. She felt a pang in her chest that she was actually losing to Mercedes, of all people. She put away her phone and tried to make herself look busy so no one would notice her envy.

Suddenly, Quinn heard a voice from behind her. "Looks like you're out and she's in." She turned to see Jen, Sam's ex, standing there with the same disgusted expression Quinn remembered from when they had first met.

Quinn rolled her eyes. "Says the one that's still pining over an ex who clearly wants nothing to do with you." Jen chuckled at Quinn's comment.

"What if I told you that you could get him without coming off as a traitorous bitch?" Jen asked slyly.

Quinn's ears perked up at this suggestion and she eyed Jen suspiciously. "What do you get out of it?" Quinn questioned warily.

Jen smirked back at her knowingly. "I just want him for homecoming, then he's all yours." Quinn couldn't believe it. Was she really considering this? She had been trying to get Sam's attention for months, but here was her chance to finally do something about it. After a few moments of hesitation, she agreed.

Jen smiled triumphantly. "Good. Now, let me show you what to do..."

"Hey," Sam said, "Let's go out for a walk." Mercedes smiled in agreement and they stepped out into the cool night air. She took in a deep breath of the crisp air as they walked out the backdoor of Anthony's house towards the pier, ready for some peace and quiet.

The music from inside still lingered in the air, like a gentle reminder of the joy that they'd just experienced. Sam looked at her and smiled. "I know I said it already but that was amazing, you up there singing and everyone jamming out with you... pretty awesome."

"Thanks, it was… exciting." She replied. Sam reached out for her hand, and she happily accepted it as they started walking down towards the pier.

As they reached the end of the pier, Sam stopped and turned towards her. He gently tugged at her hand and pulled her closer to him, encircling her in his arms. She looked up into his eyes with anticipation.

Sam leaned down and kissed her, his warm lips gentle on hers. She felt her heart hammering in her chest as she leaned into the kiss. After a few moments, Sam pulled back and looked into her eyes with a soft smile. She smiled back, feeling warmth spreading throughout her body.

Sam brushed a strand of hair out of her face and tucked it behind her ear. He looked at her intently for a moment, before leaning in to kiss her again. This time their kiss was more passionate than before, and electricity seemed to spark between them as they embraced each other tightly. Mercedes wasn't sure what made her do it but when Sam started to pull away, she leaned in more continuing their kiss.

Sam seemed surprised by this but he didn't pull away and instead deepened the kiss. Her hands moved up his chest. Sam groaned in pleasure against her lips as his hands moved down from around her waist to stroke the curve of her back. The world around them disappeared and it felt like time stopped for those few moments of pure bliss that they shared together beneath the night sky.

After a moment, they broke apart and Sam rested his forehead against hers, their hands still intertwined and their breathing heavy from the intensity of the kiss. They stayed like that for a few moments, just looking into each other's eyes and enjoying the moment until eventually Sam broke the silence with his deep voice:

"That was... well, I don't know what to say." he said with a sheepish grin before adding "except that I'd love to do it again sometime."

She couldn't help but laugh slightly at his reaction. "Same…" she agreed with a smile.

She couldn't help but giggle at his response and replied with an amused grin, "Me too..."

"Well, I suppose one more won't hurt" he said with a wink before leaning in and giving her another slow, passionate kiss.

Mercedes felt her heart skip a beat as Sam leaned in and gave her another slow, passionate kiss. His warm lips moved against hers, and she closed her eyes, savoring the moment. She leaned into him, feeling safe and content in his strong arms. Slowly they parted and he smiled down at her with a twinkle in his eyes.

The two of them stood there together for several moments longer before Sam finally broke the silence with a suggestion: "How about head back?" Mercedes smiled at him and nodded in agreement as they started walking hand-in-hand back towards the house to rejoin their friends.

When they reached the house, Mercedes saw several of their friends were outside enjoying themselves. She could see the curious looks on their faces as they noticed her and Sam returning together, but no one said anything. Instead, they all jumped right back into the fun of the party.
