The next day, Remus was gone before breakfast. Again.

"Order's business," Remus did not elaborate when Harry asked where he's been going the night before.

Before they knew it, summer was over, and it was time to go back to Hogwarts. The train ride was pretty uneventful, except for the part where he was summoned by Professor Slughorn to his compartment.

When they arrived at Hogwarts, Harry was very hungry. So, he was very happy when sorting ended and the feast began.

"Why aren't you eating?" Harry noticed Draco's untouched plate.

"I'm not hungry." He said, without looking up.

Something was definitely on his mind, but before Harry could ask, Dumbledore took to the podium to speak.

The next day, Harry woke up and Draco was already gone.

"Where did he go?" Harry muttered to himself. Quidditch practice hasn't started yet.

Harry climbed out of his bed, and headed to take a shower. When he made it to the Great Hall for breakfast, Draco was already there, reading the Daily Prophet. His breakfast plate still untouched.

"Where were you?" Harry asked.

"I couldn't sleep, so I went for a walk." Draco didn't look up from the paper.

"Are you not eating your breakfast?" Harry asked him, concerned.

"I'm not hungry." Draco simply said.

Harry raised his eyebrows, but before he could object, Professor Snape approached them.

"Your schedules." He tapped two, initially, empty sheets of papers, and their schedules appeared on them. "I added Potions for you, Potter, per Professor Slughorn's request."

"But-" Harry tried to object, but Snape cut him off.

"Take it up with Professor Slughorn." Snape simply said, and then turned to Draco. "I will see you in my office after dinner tonight."

"Yes, sir."

And with that, Snape left.

"What does he want?" Harry turned to Draco, who simply shrugged.

"I don't know." He simply said, folded the paper, and turned to Harry. "We should probably head to our first period."

Potions.

They both made it to Slughorn's classroom. "Harry! My boy!" He greeted him, paying no attention to Draco.

"Uh, professor, I don't have a textbook or any equi-" Harry started telling him, but before he could finish his sentence, Slughorn cut him off.

"Oh, not to worry, my boy!" He pointed to the closet at the back of the classroom. "You can borrow a textbook and any equipments you need from there while your things arrive by mail."

And so he did. There were two textbooks in that closet: one in used-but-good condition, and the other one has definitely seen better days. Without hesitation, he picks up the book in good condition and joins Draco, Hermione, and Anthony at their table, leaving behind the other book.

"…Felix Felicis," Harry joined just in time to see Slughorn hold up the ultimate prize for today's class. "Your time starts… now!"

Harry opens his book to the The Draught of Living Death page, and starts brewing. As he mixes the ingredients and stirs, he notices Draco brewing the potion differently.

"The book says-" Harry started saying.

"Yeah, it's wrong." Draco simply said, and kept doing his own thing.

For a second, Harry considered following Draco's steps. After all, Draco has always excelled at Potions particularly. However, the textbook…

At some point, Hermione was becoming frustrated at her own potion. "It's not the color described in the book."

"Did you cut the Sopophorous bean?" Draco asked, his potion the exact color described in the book.

Hermione checked her book, "yes."

"You should've crushed them-" Draco started saying, but was cut off by Hermione.

"But the book says cut them." Hermione insisted, Draco simply shrugged. Harry starts following Draco's steps.

"Time's up!" Slughorn announced soon afterwards, and started going around the classroom evaluating the different potions. He stopped by Draco's, and took a closer look. He dropped a leaf into the potion and watched as it burnt away. "Excellent job!"

Draco's potion was the best potion by far! Harry's was a not-so-close second, only because he followed Draco's steps. Draco was indeed a Potions Master, Snape would be proud.

Slughorn handed Draco the Felix Felicis vial: "use it for good."
