Chapter 81 – Months Later

Months had passed in Coruscant. After Ines had recovered, she and Luke were the last ones to make their statement to the Senate and the Senators.

The Republic was able to catch some of Thrawn supporters, but not all of them, so they knew they need to be attentive to any indication of something out of place, and for the past months, everything was normal.

They had a week later the triple anniversary of Luke and Leia 30th anniversary and baby Luke first birthday, and months later they had the twins 5th birthday that they celebrated in Naboo during the Summer time they decided to be there this year and then went to Tatooine for a few weeks before return to Coruscant for the next season of the Jedi Academy and celebrate Ines 30th anniversary.

During the new season in the Academy, Ben and Jacen started their first year and so far they were doing great. The twins were excited since next year it would be their first year in the Academy.

Right now, it was the first day of Life Day's and long two months of celebrations with that and then the month after the New Year, that they would be spending in Naboo, especially in Varykino for Reed and Luma's wedding.

It was the last week before the students went back to their planets, who live outside of Coruscant, but they would not leave without decorate the Temple with the decorations for Life Day's, that they always do before leave to their families for the next month and half, which was a good time, since the Coruscant Weather Network was broadcast intense and thick fog for that weekend, so it was glad they would leave the day before, since flying would not an option for those 2 days.

Right now, Luke was in his apartment, with his almost 18 months old son Luke, that already learned how to walked 2 months ago, and now he and Ines had to watch him all the time and with their dear droid friend R2. Since Ines had left with Leia and the kids to get some clothes for the two set of twins for Life Day's Eve, that would happen in the Temple, and go to the grocery to buy something for the days they would be at home cause of the fog, he decided, since it was the first day of the month, and as tradition in the Skywalker family, they put the Life Day's tree and all the decoration with the kids.

Putting the last set of boxed for the big tree in the living room, Luke Jr, looked inside and pointed looking at his father, who crouch next to him.

"What it is baby?"

"Ba!" he said pointing at them.

"Yes, those are Life Day decorations that we will use to decorate this huge tree that dada have here. And then we will your brother and yours and then your sisters little tree in your bedrooms. But right now, we need to take the Tree out first and then the decorations, especially this untangle these lights." he sighed looking at the box with the different light colors that every year were a mess.

The door opened and Han entered, alone, since Chewie had left to Kashyyyk for Life Day, returning at the end of the month to go with them to Naboo for the wedding.

"Hey kid, so you are also start to take everything out," he said looking at the many boxes on the floor.

"You know, it is the firs day of Life Day's month, and it means decorate the house and tomorrow it will be the Temple and you know it will take all day with the big tree in the middle of the Temple and the little trees through the main hall."

"Your students will love, they always do decorate the Temple," Han said taking a red ball, and giggled when his nephew looked at him and pointed.

"Ba!"

"You want the ball?"

The little kid nod.

"Please be careful," Luke glare at his brother in law, as he gave the ball to the Luke Jr, who smiled and kept look at it, still amazed with the bright color and the reflex that came out of it. "Do you decorate yours too today?"

"If I don't, your nephews and niece would kill me, but I need to do with them."

"I know, same here. Family tradition. The girls and the boys tree will be easy. But this one will be the first since is the biggest and the main one."

"Do you already bought the gifts?" Han whispered glaring at his nephew but the baby was to focus on this ball, having sitting down on the carpet, with R2 watching him closer as usual.

"Ines and I will have to do next week. My mother found an excuse and decide to take the kids to the new pastry shop, so they will have a tea time between grandma and granddaughters. And we will take that time to buy the presents."

"What about Ben?"

"Somehow he knows who buys the gifts, so he doesn't care and this little one, is still too little to understand."

"He knows already? He is 6!"

"He is smart, what can I say!" Luke said taking the tree out from the box using the force, making Han raise an eyebrow.

"That's cheating you know."

"Relax. We put the tree the old way, by hand, no force abilities, which it sucks cause it would be sooo much easier and quicker."

"I asked Leia one time to do it, and she looked at me with that look that you know your sister has," he said making Luke laughed. Yeah he knew the look. Ines had it too.

"Do you have have any news about the broadcast? And what the Coruscant Guard is saying?" Luke said as he started to take the balls, and the decorations from each box and put on the floor, waiting for the kids to arrive to start the decoration.

"Still the same. The fog didn't change direction and it will hot Coruscant this weekend morning at least until through the whole weekend. So it would be to dangerous to fly."

"Yeah, I'm glad the kids will leave the day before for the holidays and not wait two more days to be with their families for the holidays," Luke said watching his son who was rolling the ball on the floor and then, stood up to grab it and roll it again, laughing. Looking back at Han, he asked. "And about everything else?"

Han knew what he was asking.

"To quiet. The ones who got caught are in jail, but the ones who escape still no sign of them. Boba and Din didn't say anything?"

"Yes they did, we keep in touch. So far Navarro and Tatooine are quite and so Bo said that Mandalore is also fine."

"Are they really building a new city there?"

"That's what Din's said." Luke nod.

"Ezra will return from Lothal next week, right?" Han asked.

"Yeah. He will be here in time for the Life Day's Eve dinner in the temple and for the twins birthday. You and Leia will do the birthday of the boys in the Temple the next morning right?"

"Yeah. Everything is already ready and Leia is happy that we don't have to cook."

"Ines is too, even if they will help Aurea the day before and so do we."

"Did Ezra will bring you know what for the girls?"

Luke looked at Hand nod. A few days before Ezra asked him and Ines if he could bring a special present for the girls, and after some talk, they decided that maybe it was not a bad idea for the girls have some responsibility, so they agreed.

"Yes, but he will only give that the next day after the birthday of the boys."

"Good cause Leia and I are still think they still don't have the maturity to take of another life. Maybe when they are older. But Iris is begging for one too." Han said.

R2 beeped and they looked at Luke who had throw the ball towards R2, who beeped making Luke Jr laughed.

"This will be an interesting Life Day month," Han said. "I better go cause I didn't take the boxes yet and maybe I should do, before my trouble maker arrive."

"You better." Luke laughed.

"See yam kid."

"We will see the tree after dinner to see how is the house like we always do," Luke winked, and laughed when Han nod.

"Yeah I know. Bye," he left, making Luke grabbing his son and sitting on the floor, he looked at him.

"How about you help dada to separate the things. Okay?"

Luke Jr looked at his father and nod, making Luke kiss the top of his son's head and started to separate everything before the kids and Ines arrive from shopping.

Life Day's is here and let's decorate everything.
