Day 6
He's a Blatant Liar
Camp
Men: Cato, Joe, Killua, Kirito, Kyon, Lucian, Mayuri, Prussia, Spike
Women: Alice, Ami, Haruhi, Jasmine, Karen, Konata, Michiru, Mine, Misty
Everyone goes running in every direction, in complete panic. Karen pretends to not know what is going on, so she runs off in fear as well. Cato and Lucian slowly get up out of the burning shelter, as the last ones inside.
"Fire! Fire!" Konata yells.
"What the hell's going on out here?" Killua shouts at them.
"Who knows," Lucian says.
"Well, we'd better get to extinguishing it," Kirito says.
"How many pans do we have?" Alice asks.
"We've got four," Michiru says.
"Quick, fill those up with water," Alice says. "We've got to do something before this entire shelter burns to the ground."
Haruhi and Konata race down to the beach with one pan each, and Prussia and Kirito follow also carrying a pan.
"That's all we've got?" Kyon asks. "Come on, there's got to be a better way."
"Think of one, then," Cato says.
The four players run up with their pans of water and try throwing them over the burning tarp. The shelter starts to collapse, with the water doing very little to stop the burning.
"This is serious!" Mine yells. "Come on, get Probst in here!"
"Probst?" Spike says.
"You know who I mean!" Mine says. "Jet Black!"
Producers immediately signal for an emergency, as the shelter collapses. Haruhi and Konata are still desperately trying to put out the fire, to no avail.
"This is going to just spread," Ami says. "If we don't stop it soon, it's going to start a wildfire."
"And Ami and I aren't allowed to transform into our Senshi forms out here, or we'd put it out," Michiru says.
About five minutes later, an emergency crew arrives on the scene, along with Jet Black.
"Come on in, Jet!" Misty shouts.
The emergency crew goes to work on putting out the fire, while Jet walks up to assess the situation.
"So, we had a little fire?" he says.
"A little?" Mine says. "No, it's a big one!"
"I see," Jet says. "The tarp caught fire. Are you sure how?"
"We can't be certain," Killua says. "But I'm betting it was sabotage."
"Yeah, whoever did this should be thrown out of the game!" Misty exclaims.
The tribe members start arguing with each other, some of them yelling as they accuse each other of burning down the shelter. As they do, the emergency crew start to get the fire under control and put it out.
"Okay, let's calm down here," Jet says. "We have a way of taking care of this. If anyone wants to admit burning down the shelter, this is your opportunity."
"Why would anyone admit to it?" Karen asks. "You're just asking to get thrown out of the game."
"If you admit to it now, you will face a lesser penalty than if we go back on the tape and figure out exactly who burned it down," Jet says. "Admit it now, and you lose your vote at the next Tribal Council, and forfeit all your Fire Tokens. Or, wait until we find the evidence, and get thrown out of the game."
All the players look shocked upon hearing this. Lucian then steps forward.
"I did it," he admits.
Some of the Women gasp upon hearing this. Others are not surprised.
"There's the surprise of the century," Ami says.
"Why did you do that, Lucian?" Misty asks.
"It wasn't my idea!" Lucian complains. "It was his!"
He points at Cato.
"Who, me?" Cato says. "What the hell are you talking about?"
Lucian looks aghast. "Cato, I've been following you around, doing everything you want! And you meant to blame this on me?"
"Do I know this guy?" Cato says.
"You put me up to it!" Lucian complains. "And the cameras would prove it!"
"There's no way they'd be able to confirm that," Cato says.
Lucian turns to Jet. "Come on, Jet! If you're going to punish someone, punish him."
Jet tries to cool down the situation. "Okay, Lucian, what you're saying is…"
Lucian cuts Jet off before he can finish his sentence. "This is all Cato's fault! He's a blatant liar! He's lied about evidence; he's lied about me! He has claimed that he and I never even met!"
Some of the players look over to see the smoldering shelter, which producers have finally been able to get under control.
"Lucian, you have admitted to doing this, but you want Cato punished as well," Jet says. "And your argument is that Cato put you up to it."
"That's right!" Lucian says.
"No, that's dumb," Cato says.
"You guys are on thin ice," Jet says. "Since Lucian is the one who actually did it, he will be the one who will lose his vote and his Tokens. However, the rest of you are on warning. If anyone tries pulling anything, or putting someone else up to something, they will be immediately ejected. Lucian, I will take your Fire Tokens."
Lucian reluctantly hands over his four Fire Tokens to Jet.
"Now, you guys are going to have to start from scratch," Jet says. "Rebuild your shelter from the ground up."
"Why should we have to?" Mine asks. "They're the ones who burnt it down!"
Jet ignores Mine's pleas. "I'll see you later today for the immunity challenge."
He walks away, along with the producers, who have put out the fire successfully. Everyone stands around, looking for someone else to make the first move, but no one does, until Alice says something.
"Well, don't just stand there, say something for yourself, Lucian!"
"I'm innocent!" Lucian complains.
"Innocent like $%#&, I would say," Ami replies. "You've got no one to blame for your unhappiness."
"You got yourself into your own mess," Misty adds. "It sucks that we've got to now bail you out by rebuilding the shelter, but nothing we can do about that now."
"Lucian burns down the shelter and acts as if he's the victim," Misty says. "If I have any say in what goes on over at the Men's Tribal Council, I will get him voted out as fast as I can. But that makes me wonder: does he have an idol or something? Because how could he be so brazen to do this and think he could find a way out?"
As the players begin putting together the shelter again, most of them are grumbling about having to do all this hard work.
"This sucks," Mine says.
"This is what you get when you have morons on the other tribe," Misty says.
"You know that you'd be voted out right away if we were on your tribe," Ami says to Lucian.
"Yeah, yeah," Lucian says. "Let's just work."
"I know that I got myself into big trouble by doing what I did," Lucian says. "But there's nothing I can do about that now. I just gotta hope that I can deflect the blame off to Cato enough that the rest of my tribe can forgive me."
The players put the shelter together, despite all the complaining. As they do, Misty pulls aside Karen.
"It's always okay to come back with us," Misty whispers.
"Got it," Karen says.
"You hold the key to the whole vote," Misty continues. "Vote with us, and you'll be part of an unbreakable five – rather than those other two volatile pairs."
"Right," Karen says.
"I tried to sell Karen on my idea of getting the band back together," Misty says. "I don't know if it'll work, but it's the best I can do right now. Otherwise, we're going to be relying on that idol."
"Misty's trying to sweet talk me back into the whole buddy system thing," Karen says. "I have no use for that. But if it improves my chances in the game to vote with them, I might. It all comes down to how much I trust them – and how much I trust Mine and Alice."
Joe also finds some time to talk to Killua and Kirito.
"Lucian and Cato were at blame for this," Joe says. "We have the numbers to get out either one of them; we'd just have to tell Mayuri and Prussia. The question is, which one?"
"I say Lucian," Kirito says. "He's the one who did the deed."
"Yeah, but Cato is calling the shots," Killua says. "He's the puppetmaster behind Lucian. He's definitely more dangerous."
"I'm not so sure," Kirito says. "I think we ought to go after Lucian first."
"Lucian burned down our shelter, and for that, he deserves to go home," Kirito says. "I'm not worried about any kind of idol; he had to forfeit his Fire Tokens for what he did. But now, he needs to be headed out of here."
"I know that Lucian was the one who burned down the shelter, but Cato is the bigger threat," Killua says. "If we don't get him out now, then he's going to be around a long time, and he will continue to cause trouble for us just as he has by using Lucian as his puppet. I hope I can convince the others to go after Cato instead of Lucian."
About halfway through building the shelter, the players get called by the producers to head to the immunity challenge.
"Man, this sucks," Spike says. "Three things I hate – kids, animals, and women with attitudes. There are no animals here, but there sure are a bunch of kids as well as women with bad attitudes. We aren't even halfway finished with this shelter, and now we've got to go do a challenge."
Immunity Challenge
"Come on in, guys!"
The eighteen remaining players walk out onto the beach.
"You guys ready to get to today's immunity challenge?"
"Yes!" Haruhi exclaims.
"As ready as we can be," Misty says.
"First things first, I will take it back."
Alice hands over the Ranma immunity idol to Jet.
"Thank you. Once again, immunity is back up for grabs."
Jet points out to the water, where there are eighteen small stumps sticking out about a foot above the water.
"For today's challenge, you will be playing Perch. That's right, it's the challenge where everyone stands on a stump for however long is necessary to produce a winner. Along the way, I'll have some temptations to get you to step down. Last tribe to have at least one player standing on a stump wins immunity. Losers, Tribal Council, where someone will be the third person voted out of this game. Men, since you lost the last immunity challenge, you have the right to buy the Medallion of Power."
"And what good would that do?" Cato asks.
"You would have the option to select three players on the Women to sit out the challenge. That would mean you'd have nine players going up against six of them."
"Sounds good," Killua says.
"No, no," Cato says. "We know we can beat them. We don't need any help."
"Remember, though, that the option goes over to them if we don't buy it," Kirito says.
"I have no use for it," Cato says.
"Don't cross him," Joe whispers to Killua. "If he wants to play this way, let him get his just desserts."
Killua nods his head. "Okay, we choose not to buy it, Jet."
"Very well then," Jet says. "Women, you now have the option to buy the Medallion of Power."
Mine shakes her head. "We're going to save our Tokens," she says.
"Yeah, I'm not giving away any," Alice says.
"Okay, then," Jet states. "Neither tribe will have an advantage at this challenge. We'll draw for spots, then get started."
The players all get out to their stumps and stand upon them.
"This challenge is underway," Jet states.
The tribes stare each other down, trying to intimidate the others or see if they can find any weakness. About 15 minutes in, Haruhi hops down from her stump.
"Haruhi is out! Women down to eight!"
"Well, if she's gone, so am I," Konata says, jumping off.
"And just like that, the Women are down to seven!"
About half an hour into the challenge, Joe steps down.
"Joe is out! The Men are now down to eight!"
It takes another half hour for the next player to drop.
"Mayuri drops out for the Men! Each tribe is now down to seven!"
Mine crosses her arms. "You're going to have to bribe us to come down," she says.
"Very well then," Jet says. "How about this?"
He pulls out a plate of chocolate chip cookies. "First one to drop gets these."
"I'll take them!" Prussia says, jumping off his stump.
"Prussia gets the cookies, the Women get the advantage of having more players still standing!" Jet says.
Another half hour passes, and Jet comes back with another temptation.
"This time I've got a burger with fries," he says. "First one to drop gets it."
"I'll take it," Kirito says, stepping off his stump.
"Kirito is out! The Men are down to just five!"
Alice looks over at Misty. "We may be on opposite alliances, but we can't afford to step down," she says.
"You got it," Misty replies.
About fifteen minutes later, Kyon loses his balance and drops off.
"Kyon is out! And the Men are now down to just four!"
Jasmine starts to shake, and Michiru tries keeping her balance. Almost simultaneously, the two of them drop off their stumps.
"Wow, just like that, the Women are down to five!"
The players look around at each other, looking for some sort of weakness. None of them seem ready to step off, so about half an hour later, Jet pulls out another temptation.
"I've got some spaghetti and meatballs here," he says. "First one to step off gets it."
Mine looks over at Alice. "Sorry," she says, stepping down.
"Mine gets the spaghetti, but her tribe is now even with the Men with just four remaining!"
Another half hour goes by without anyone budging.
"We've got Alice, Misty, Ami, and Karen left for the Women, and Cato, Killua, Lucian, and Spike remaining for the Men!"
Karen calls over to the Men.
"Any of you want to step down?" she asks. "I'm proposing a trade. I step off if you step off."
The Men look at each other, then Spike raises his hand.
"I'll do it," he says.
"Jump off in three," Karen says. "One, two, three!"
Spike hesitates for a second, but he jumps in, as does Karen.
"Wow, how about that!" Jet says. "We are now down to just three left per side!"
About another half hour goes by, with no one moving. Jet brings out another temptation.
"This one might really get you," he says.
He pulls out a pair of Fire Tokens, causing several of the players' eyes to light up.
"The first two to step down may have a Fire Token," he says.
The players look around at each other, trying to find some sign of weakness. Ami looks over at Misty, and Misty nods.
"I got this," Misty tells Ami. "You take the Token."
Lucian and Cato look at each other and shake their heads. Cato then turns to Killua.
"Don't you dare," he says.
"Sorry," Killua says.
Killua hops off, as does Ami.
"And we are down to two left per side!" Jet announces. "Killua and Ami both get a Fire Token!"
Another half hour goes by, and no one else has stepped off yet.
"I'm out of temptations," Jet says. "You have nothing to gain by stepping down now. Think about what this means to your tribe!"
Lucian's legs are really hurting, and he tries to keep his balance.
"Don't step down," Cato says. "We can't afford it."
"You can win this thing for us," Lucian says. "I can't take this anymore."
He hops off his stump, leaving just Cato for the Men.
"Lucian is out! We are down to just one for the Men, Cato!"
Kirito nudges Joe on the bench.
"There's no way Cato steps off," he says.
"Yeah, Cato's too strong," Joe says.
"Cato might stand up there for days upon-"
…
…
…
…
…
And as Kirito says this, Cato loses his balance and falls off.
"And that's it!" Jet shouts. "Misty and Alice go the distance! Women win immunity!"
The Women erupt in cheers and celebration from the bench, while Kirito's mouth drops open in shock.
"Wanna battle it out to see who makes it the longest?" Alice asks Misty.
"No way," Misty says. "You win."
Misty steps off first, allowing Alice the chance to bask in the moment.
"Alice, you're still up there," Jet says. "You look like you could go another day."
"Nah," Alice replies. "I'm just a team player. We needed this win today."
She hops off the stump. She and Misty then rush over to the rest of their tribemates to celebrate.
"We did it!" Konata exclaims.
"We? What's all this we stuff?" Alice says.
She and Mine share a warm embrace.
"I hope this makes up for the way I acted like a %#*&^ last season," Alice says.
"Not really," Mine says with a blush. "But I appreciate it."
Jet then grabs the Ranma idol and brings it over to the Women.
"Congratulations," he says. "You earned this."
He hands it over to Alice.
"You Women are safe from being voted out tonight," Jet states. "You will get to go to Tribal Council just to watch. You'll even have some peanuts up there in the peanut gallery. Head on out."
The Women clap and give each other high fives as they walk out.
"As for you, the Men," Jet says. "I got nothing for you, except for a date with me for Tribal Council, where one of you will be the third person voted out of this season. You can head on out."
The Men trudge off, disappointed about their loss.
"Lucian will pay for this," Cato says. "I'm going to poison everyone against him. He's caused so much trouble for me by failing as my apprentice. If he could have stayed on longer, I might have made it longer as well. What a complete $#%*."
Camp
Men: Cato, Joe, Killua, Kirito, Kyon, Lucian, Mayuri, Prussia, Spike
Women: Alice, Ami, Haruhi, Jasmine, Karen, Konata, Michiru, Mine, Misty
The Men are in complete disarray as they come back to camp. Every one of them is blaming either Cato or Lucian for the shelter fire.
"If Lucian wasn't such a $*#%, then we wouldn't have to rebuild," Kirito says, as the players work on finishing off their shelter.
"Yeah, but Cato made him do it," Joe says.
"No, Lucian did the deed," Kyon says.
"But only because he was following Cato's orders," Spike says.
"No one on this camp can agree on anything," Killua says. "If Cato and Lucian's goal was to bring chaos into this tribe, they have successfully achieved their goal. Yet all it's done is put the spotlight on the two of them. Now one of them will be voted out, because no one is willing to take a stand with them. Well, at least I think that. I'm not sure about Mayuri or Prussia."
Mayuri and Prussia have a talk with Lucian.
"Do you think you're going tonight?" Mayuri asks.
"Probably," Lucian says. "I'm in a bad position."
"It's not over yet," Mayuri says.
"That's right," Prussia says.
"And how so?" Lucian wonders.
"Because we have three of us, who can vote together to put out Cato," Mayuri says. "All we need are two more."
"And who would those be?"
"Killua, Joe, and Kirito," Mayuri says. "That's more than enough."
"Yeah, we're going to blindside Cato!" Prussia exclaims. "It's going to be awesome!"
Lucian shakes his head. "That's not a blindside by any definition of the word, except maybe Probst's."
"Prussia and Mayuri have hatched this idea to get Killua, Joe, and Kirito on my side to knock out Lucian," Lucian says. "Yet they don't realize the power Cato has in this tribe. He's going to pull some strings and get everyone to vote against me. I just know it. There's no hope left for me. I shouldn't have ever listened to that $*%#."
Cato is, indeed, pulling strings.
"Lucian did this to you," Cato tells Killua and Kirito. "Lucian burned down this shelter. Lucian is making you work. You've got to vote him out."
"We know, we know," Kirito says.
"Can you promise me one thing?" Killua asks Cato.
"And what would that be?" Cato says.
"Put an end to this chaos around camp," Killua says. "All this crap about losing our rice and our shelter. We know you're behind it. Yet we need you to win challenges. We can't vote you out, or we'll lose the next who knows how many challenges in a row."
"Don't worry," Cato says. "Once Lucian is gone, everything will be fine."
Killua looks suspiciously at Cato as he says this.
"I don't trust Cato," Killua says. "I think he's lying to me. But at the same time, everyone's talking about voting out Lucian. We've got to figure out what we're going to do."
He talks with Joe and Kirito right before going out to Tribal Council.
"How many Fire Tokens do we have together?" Killua asks. "I've got three."
"I've got three too," Joe says.
"I've only got one," Kirito says.
"That'll do," Killua says. "I have a last-minute plan to explain."
He whispers the plan over to Joe and Kirito.
"That's crazy," Kirito says. "That'll never work."
"You're really taking a risk with that," Joe says.
"We've got to try it," Killua says. "Even if it means using up all our Tokens."
"Killua has come up with this crazy idea to pool together all our Fire Tokens to do something off the wall," Joe says. "It might work for this challenge, then completely screw us over after that. But I'm willing to try it. You never know whether it could pay off."
Tribal Council
(Men)
The Men march into the Tribal Council area, with the Women watching from the peanut gallery.
"Let's talk about the elephant in the room," Jet says. "Lucian, you burned down the shelter. There's no other way of getting around it."
"Yeah, I did," Lucian says. "I can't lie, I did it. But Cato's been pulling the strings here for a while, and he deserves some blame."
"Excuse me?" Cato says. "You're the one who did it. I don't have any control over you. I'm not forcing you to do anything."
"You $#%&!" Lucian yells. "You think up all these ways to sabotage our tribe, and then you have the audacity to blame them on me!"
"Because you're the one who actually did it!" Cato responds. "You're the one with blood on your hands. Everybody sees it! So quit blaming me!"
The two of them nearly come to blows, before Spike steps in between them.
"Clearly some bad blood here," Jet says. "Spike, with these tempers flaring, what is the best way of solving this?"
"I'm not really sure," Spike says. "I do know this: Lucian burnt down our shelter. Even if Cato was behind it, Lucian did the deed. And for that, he deserves to go home."
"I don't even think it's fair for us to have to vote about it," Kyon says. "We ought to just come together right now and tell Lucian that he's going home."
The other players look surprised at Kyon's idea.
"So, this would be an impromptu vote of sorts," Jet says. "Just tell Lucian he's going home, and not risk the chance of going to vote and ending up seeing your name on the parchment."
Killua steps in. "It's a tempting offer, but…"
He pulls out a piece of paper, and he walks over to Jet with it. Most of the other players look on in amazement.
"I bought this with my Fire Tokens right before we left camp," he says.
"This paper states that you have Safety Without Power," Jet says. "That means that you go back to Tribal Council, safe from the vote. You don't have a say in tonight's vote, but you don't go home."
"Oh, I'm not safe from the vote," Killua says.
Everyone looks surprised at Killua.
"I'm using that on Lucian."
Several of the players gasp. Alice throws a couple of peanut shells while laughing, and Misty gives Jasmine a high five. Lucian has a hard time catching his breath.
"Very well then," Jet states. "Lucian, you may head back to camp. You don't get a vote tonight, but you know you won't be going home."
Lucian walks over to Killua and gives him a partial hug, then heads on out. As he leaves, Cato gives him the finger.
"I hope I never see you again," Lucian says on his way out.
"Wow, there we go," Jet says. "A BIG MOVE at Tribal Council. But there's still a vote to be had here. And now you have a dilemma. Because you need to make up our minds as to what's most important tonight: winning challenges, or loyalty."
"It is a big decision," Joe says. "We know that Cato gives us the best chance at winning challenges. Yet we know that he isn't loyal at all."
"We want to make sure we make the right decision," Kirito adds. "We can't let our hearts win out over our heads."
"Cato, I know you're upset," Jet says. "But now you've got to face the music. It's too late to buy anything with your Fire Tokens."
"All I would say to my tribe is, do you want to lose the next seven challenges in a row and get your clocks cleaned by the Women?" Cato says. "Because that's what's gonna happen if you vote me out. Lucian is a loser. He can't win at challenges to save his life. I'm the strongest one here, and you need me for the challenges. I don't care that you sent Lucian back safely; unless you do the same for me, you're going to find out exactly how difficult life is without me."
"And that's the perfect way to segue," Jet says. "It is… time to vote. Cato, you're up first."
The Tribal Council theme "Tally the Vote" plays as the Men go to vote.
Cato goes to vote.
Joe goes to vote.
Killua goes to vote.
Kirito goes to vote.
"I'm not sure if we've made the right decision," Kirito says.
Kyon goes to vote.
Mayuri goes to vote.
Prussia goes to vote.
Spike goes to vote.
"I'll go tally the votes."
Jet walks over to the voting booth, grabs the voting urn, mixes up the votes, then returns to his podium.
"If anyone has an immunity idol or an advantage, and you would like to play it, now would be the time to do so," he states.
Nobody budges.
"Okay. Once the votes are read, the decision is final, and the person voted out will be asked to leave the Tribal Council area immediately. I'll read the votes."
Jet pulls out the first vote.
"First vote… Killua."
Killua nods his head.
…
…
…
"Cato. We're tied, one vote Killua, one vote Cato."
…
…
…
"Cato."
…
…
…
"Cato."
…
…
…
…
…
"Cato. That's four votes Cato, one vote Killua."
…
…
…
…
…
"Third person voted out of Survivor: Crazy Game Changers, Cato. That's five, and it is enough. No need to reveal the other votes; they will remain a mystery. Cato, you need to bring me your torch."
Cato gets up, then walks by every tribemate, giving them the finger right in their face. He then grabs his torch, but instead of putting it in the slot, he walks out of Tribal Council with his flame still burning.
"Cato, the tribe has spoken!" Jet shouts, as Cato walks out.
"You've done one of two things tonight," Jet says. "You've either eliminated a cancer to your tribe, or you've put yourselves in the position to be eliminated one by one by losing challenges. Grab your torches, head back to camp, good night."
Killua gives Kirito and Joe high fives as the Men head on out. Meanwhile, Cato then finds a table waiting for him. "You must bequeath your Fire Tokens to another player," he reads. "Fine."
He tosses both Tokens into Karen's box.
"$*&% the rest of you," he says, carrying his still-lit torch away.
"Seriously, just $&%# these guys," Cato says. "They took that %#*$ Lucian over me. What a bunch of %*#%. I wish I could go back there and burn their camp to the ground a second time. I couldn't care less about this game anymore. I don't even feel like going to the reunion. $*#% all of you."
Who voted for whom:
Cato – Killua
Joe – Cato
Killua – Cato
Kirito – Cato
Kyon – Cato
Mayuri – Cato
Prussia – Cato
Spike – Cato
Scenes from our next episode:
The Men find out how difficult winning challenges is without Cato… the Women find out how difficult winning challenges is with Karen trying to throw them… and Lucian tries to get back in the good graces of his tribemates.
