Chapter 14. Visitors Pt. 2
POV Draco
They sat in the sun room enjoying cups of coffee as they waited for Daisy and Leaf to return with breakfast. Draco was relieves that Hermione meeting his surrogate siblings had gone so well. It was one of his only worries about their lives coming together, but she had seemed pleased enough that they were free and well paid. He looked down at Hermione who was tucked into his side.
Fuck. Which God do I need to thank for being able to have her? I don't deserve her.
A pop sounded from the kitchen, letting them know that Daisy had returned. Draco stood and extended his hand for Hermione to take and guided them back into the kitchen. He opened the door, allowing her to enter before him, and he just caught an audible gasp come from her, before he himself could process what he was seeing.
Oh gods! What have they done?
"Oh Draco! They are beautiful!"
Roses littered every surface his eye could see. He expected to see the Black Dragon roses his mother had planted for him when he was born but instead they had brought were baby pink. He was a little disappointed, wanting to give her the best ones from the Manor, but Hermione seemed elated, which made him smile.
They never listen. Hermione deserves the best roses money can buy and they bring these pale, almost sad--
"These are Hermione Roses!"
What‽
"They're what?"
"Hermione Roses. There's a whole entire category of Roses named after Shakespeare characters! Juliet, Othello, Bianca, Prospero and of course Hermione!"
He was going to kill his mother. How could she never tell him about this? He looked at Daisy who was grinning from ear to ear, silently informing Draco that she was very aware of the type of Roses she had brought.
"Daisy? Did you see my mother when you went home?"
"Yes Master Draco, Daisy went to get the Black Dragons like you asked, but Mistress stopped me and told me to bring these. Said they had been waiting five years for someone to be given to."
"Five years? Daisy, did mothe--" he was cut off by the pop of apparition, and Leaf appeared beside Daisy.
"Breakfast is ready baby brother."
He rolled his eyes at Leaf. "I do have a name."
"Respect your elders baby brother, your mother taught you better than that."
He had not expect to be scolded by an elf in front of Hermione today, she must be enjoying every second of it. He looked over at her, who was hiding a smirk behind her curls.
"Something funny Granger?"
She bit her lip, and all the irritation drained from his body. He wanted to rush over to her and plant his mouth on hers, take her into his arms and carry her to bed.
"Nothing at all, Malfoy." She said emphasizing his name, "I just think it's sweet, your relationship with Daisy and Leaf."
It's more like they are the bane of my existence.
"Yes… well… would you care to eat? I asked them to have Dahlia make her signature lemon pancakes with blueberry compote." He turned to face Leaf, "That is, what you have brought, yes?"
Leaf brushed his long hair out of his face, and with a snap of his fingers 2 plates full of said pancakes appeared on the table, along with a basket of fruit and 2 new cups of coffee.
"It looks wonderful Leaf, thank you. And thank your mother as well, for making them for us." She said and bent down to place a kiss on Leafs head before turning and offering the same to Daisy who instead threw her arms around Hermione's middle.
"Miss. Hermione, our mother will be so pleased to know that you have eaten and appreciated her food! Won't she Leaf? She ever so will! Our mother is a big fan of the elf-advocate Hermione Granger and will be honored to have been allowed to cook for her!"
Draco saw Hermione have her internal battle to stop or not stop Daisy from her rant. He knew Hermione didn't like the idea of elves honoring her, but he knew that she knew that his elf siblings would be horribly offended if she didn't let them fuss over her.
"Daisy. Leaf. Thank you for bringing all this, now would you please excuse us to eat? I promise you can come back and pester Hermione later."
I am not calling them back again tonight. No way.
They jumped onto him to give him a hug before disappearing with a quiet pop, leaving him alone with Hermione once again.
--
After breakfast Draco ran upstairs to retrieve Hermione's daily potions from her beaded bag. He was 5 minutes into his search when he heard the floo sound from the living room. Quickly grabbing the bag he rushed down the stairs to see who it was.
"Hermione, love, can we come through please?" The mystery voice said.
Who could be wanting to come over? Nobody came to see her in hospital, why come now?
"Yes, I suppose."
She looked nervous, "Everything okay? Whose coming through?"
"Oh! Um. It's…"
The floo sounded again and the two tall figures of Fred and George Weasley appeared through the green flames. The sight of the red hair set him on immediate edge, however, he wasn't bothered by the Weasley Twins, for reasons he wasn't ready to tell Hermione. He worried, though, that the twins might not allow him that luxury.
They immediately scooped Hermione up between them, wrapping their arms around her. He couldn't see their faces, but it was clear by the sounds that they were all crying. He diverted his eyes, and shuffled his feet around the carpet, feeling like he was intruding on this tender reunion.
"We're so sorry love, so so sorry. I can't even imagine everything you have gone through recently, Hermione. Please forgive us for not visiting sooner, we didn't know if you wanted to see us or not and we were afraid to come and confirm."
Draco wasn't sure which twin was talking, but when one of them turned to him, he caught the missing ear which he knew meant it was George. He walked up to Draco, offering his hand.
"Thanks for saving her mate. I know what you must think of my family right now, and I don't blame you, but Fred and I, we love Hermione with all our hearts and we would do anything for her, including cutting off our family. If either of you need anything, don't hesitate to ask, we are at your service."
"Charlie too." Fred cut in, "He sent me an owl yesterday, asking me to find out how you were doing and if you wanted him to feed the rest of the family to one of his dragons?"
"Does he have a Ukranian Ironbelly?" Hermione said with a grin.
"Wouldn't that be poetic, eh Hermione?"
Draco was missing something. Why would that be poetic? Was it because of his patronus?
"Why would it be poetic?" he heard himself ask.
"He doesn't know this story?" George asked, quirkiness his eyebrow in curious amusement.
Hermione blushed and bit her lip.
She really needs to stop doing that.
"Its not really come up, and I assumed most of wizarding society knew about my big bank heist already."
"Bank heist?!"
"Yeah, our little love here broke into Gringotts to get into Bellatrix's vault and steal the cup of Helga Hufflepuff, and then with no way out, released a Ukranian Ironbelly and rode on its back out of the bank."
"Don't forget that I was disguised as Bellatrix."
"Well you looked like her love, but we've all been told how absolutely atrocious you were at pretending to be her." Fred said pulling her into his side.
"Good morning." George added, attempting to mimic Hermione's voice.
"Ugh! Would you both put that to rest already? I get it, I'm not a good actress!"
"Whoa! Hold up! You went into the bank disguised as my aunt?"
"Yes, it is the only positive thing about being drug to Malfoy Manor and tortured. I was covered with her hair so once I was healed, I was able to make polyjuice potion and use her hair. I actually think I still have a vial full of her hair in my bag somewhere."
Draco's head was reeling, "You can brew polyjuice?"
"Oh our swotty love here was brewing polyjuice her second year." George said plopping down on the couch.
Draco, realizing his head was spinning, took a seat in a chair across from him. Fred and Hermione followed suit.
"Wh…why did you brew polyjuice potion second year?"
"To sneak into the Slytherin common room and find out if you were the heir of Slytherin."
He was looking at her in abject horror. All those years being told that muggleborns were less than purebloods, and yet Hermione, the poster child of muggleborns, was brewing a potion at 13 that most adults struggle to brew properly.
"You came into the Slytherin common room?" his cock betrayed him with its sudden excitement at the thought of them together in the common room. He had many fantasy's of her pressed up against the glass looking into the lake as he took her from behind.
"Actually, I didn't get the chance. While I did brew the potion correctly, the hair I collected off Bullstrode ended up being a cat hair so I spend 2 weeks in the hospital wing being treated for that. Harry and Ron, however, did succeed in turning into Crabbe and Goyle and were able to confirm you were not, in fact, the heir."
All he could do was shake his head. Every time he thought nothing else could surprise him when it came to that witch, he was subsequently humbled.
Brightest witch of her age, what a load of bollocks. Brightest witch of all time is more accurate.
A brief silence washed over them, before Draco remembered he hadn't found Hermione's Potions. He pulled the beaded bag out of his pocket and tossed it to her.
"I don't understand how you find anything in that bag. I looked for your potions for five minutes, before I was interrupted by the floo. Is there another jinx on it aside from the severing charm?"
"No. It's just a really big bag, truly the best way to get what you want out is to accio the item to you. Most everything in there can be summoned if you have access to the bag." She said, as she reached in and immediately pulled out the vials he had been searching for.
Show off.
--
They spent the rest of the afternoon with the twins, exchanging war stories, drinking tea, and bouncing ideas off each other for new WWW products. Draco found himself surprised that he was enjoying himself. He had never considered the twins to be intelligent enough to hold decent conversation, but they had proven him wrong. Their products were not just jokes anymore, they had products that could revolutionize all of wizarding society.
"So this "owl"—"
"Orating Wizard Listener" Fred and George said in unison.
"Right. So this device will allow you to speak a message into it and it play through another one somewhere else, and vise versa?"
"No, not exactly, we wanted something more quick than that, cause we can already do that with patronus'. As long as you can cast one. No, this device allows for real time talking between two wizards, much like a muggle telephone."
"Fred. George. This is incredible!" Hermione praised, "Are they ready, when can I get one?"
"You can keep that one if you like. We can bring another one for you too Malfoy, if you like. We hope to get them out to the rest of the public before summer."
"That is wonderful you guys! I am so proud of—"
The floo roared to life and a figure came tumbling out. He inched towards Hermione as the person stood up, never taking his eyes off them. Draco saw all the color drain from her face as she realized the identity of the mystery man.
"Harry?"
