Sam made his way into the kitchen, surprised he hadn't encountered his brother or Castiel on the way and was even more surprised neither were in the kitchen.
He wondered if they had fallen asleep in Dean's man cave last night and decided to leave them be, they would emerge soon enough when they got hungry.
So Sam had set about preparing breakfast, as he had spent another long all-nighter in the library surrounded by old books. He figured Dean and Castiel would appreciate waking up to food.
He stood by the kitchen counter chopping up potatoes to fry into hashbrowns when the sound of someone coming into the kitchen drew his attention from his task.
He turned around to see Castiel, in a baggy shirt and sweatpants that were too big for him hanging off his narrow hips.
"Morning, Cas!" Sam greeted with a big smile, returning to his task of cutting potatoes into little pieces.
Castiel leaned up against the counter opposite of Sam, watching the young Winchester as he went about making food.
"Good morning, Sam," Castiel greeted in his usual gruffness, running a hand through his mussed hair trying to fix it.
"Where's Dean? He fall asleep during your movie?" Sam asked, moving on to peeling apart slices of bacon before throwing them into the frying pan he had on the stove.
"Yes, I let him sleep..." Castiel responded with a small smirk, though Sam didn't see it as his back was turned to Castiel.
"You wanna let him know I'm making breakfast?" Sam asked, flipping over the bacon.
Castiel vanished himself out of the kitchen with the quiet whoosh of wings.
Dean woke with a start, his hand immediately reaching out and grabbing onto the first thing it came in contact with, which happened to be Castiel's shirt.
Dean's eyes opened, fear and anger flashing in them before settling into calm when he quickly realized who had woke him up.
"Sorry Cas..." he said softly, relaxing his grip on the angel's shirt but still keeping a hold on it.
Dean pulled him down into a heated kiss, one that forgave the angel with all his might for scaring him. Castiel melted into the kiss, understanding what Dean meant by it.
Castiel placed a hand over Dean's chest, deepening the kiss as Dean's other hand settled over the angel's on his chest.
"Sam made us breakfast," Castiel announced once Dean broke the kiss, his hand still on the angel's shirt.
Dean released his grip as he moved to stand out of the recliner, ushering Castiel out of his man cave and down the hall toward the kitchen.
Dean and Sam sat around the table together enjoying their breakfast in silence.
Castiel simply enjoyed a cup of coffee, feeling strangely tired from the previous night.
"You got more research to do, Sammy?" Dean questioned looking up from his plate at his little brother.
Sam glanced up from his food, shaking his head. "Not tonight, I might do inventory though... I think we're running low on some supplies," he answered.
"Good idea," Dean responded with a nod, returning his attention back to his food.
"Need any help?" he quickly added, though he was secretly hoping Sam would say no.
"I got it covered... Besides, I figured you were still working on the Impala?" Sam answered, his brow quirked up at Dean.
"Oh.. Uh, yeah! I need to check a few more things but I think she's about good..."
"Might go for a drive later," Dean responded glancing up at Castiel, making sure Sam didn't notice.
Castiel caught Dean's gaze, his cheeks tinting pink when his looked back. He was grateful Sam was too busy finishing his breakfast to notice.
"Maybe Cas could go with you, get some fresh air,"Sam suggested innocently, unaware of the two sharing a rather intense look.
"That's a great idea, Sammy," Dean responded brightly, his gaze still locked on Castiel.
Dean was finishing going over the Impala, dusting off any smudges from his hands as he went.
He had topped off the gas and did a double check of the engine, being satisfied with everything.
Castiel entered the garage, Dean noticed he was back in his usual clothes. Dean smiled up at him, a tingle of something shooting straight to his crotch at the sight of his angel.
"Ready to take a drive?" Castiel asked approaching Dean, smiling warmly at him.
"Yeah, she's all ready to go," Dean responded, patting the hood of the Impala.
Dean walked around to the passenger side and opened the door, gesturing for Castiel to climb in. Castiel slid into the seat, shifting until he was comfortable as Dean shut the door.
He quickly made his way back around to the driver side and climbed in beside Castiel.
He put the keys in the ignition as he hit the button to open the garage, peeling out of the garage with a squeal of tires.
Hitting a slight bump as they exited the garage sent Castiel sliding across the bench seat and right up against Dean, who had a sly smirk on his face.
They drove aimlessly for a short while, enjoying just being together and listening to some of Dean's favorite music.
Dark storm clouds, rolling thunder and the ever looming threat of rain accompanying them.
Dean had his arm wrapped around Castiel, humming along to the lyrics of 'No one like you'. Castiel's head resting in the crook of Dean's neck.
"Hey, you wanna pull over somewhere for a bit, watch the storm?" Dean asked as the song died out, catching Castiel's attention.
"That would be nice," Castiel said quietly, his warm breath tickling the hair on the back of Dean's neck.
Dean's breathing hitched, the closeness of Castiel and his breath on his neck sent shivers down his spine.
He tightened his grip on the steering wheel as he slowed down to pull off on the side of a secluded dirt road, turning off the engine when he came to a stop.
"Come on, I should have a blanket in the trunk..." Dean announced opening the door, he helped Castiel crawl out of the driver side.
Dean jogged to the back of the Impala, popping open the trunk and digging around until he pulled out a blanket that was folded up.
He and Castiel walked a short ways from the car before settling on a small patch of grass away from the road, Dean was satisfied they had enough privacy.
Plus, anyone besides them would be crazy to be out in this weather.
Castiel and Dean were lying on the blanket, Dean's arms wrapped around Castiel's waist as he laid his head on Dean's chest.
"Dean..." Castiel started, keeping his gaze on the dark clouds above them. Glimpses of lightning flashing through the sky.
"Yeah?" Dean answered, tilting his head to look down at the angel.
Castiel shifted to a position on his knees, his hands on either side of Dean's face, crystal blue eyes staring into emerald greens.
Dean felt his cock twitching to life as Castiel hovered over him, suddenly feeling an odd sensation in his lower stomach.
Castiel leaned down, pressing his lips over Dean's in an unexpectedly rough kiss that sent shivers down the hunter's back.
Dean wrapped his arms around Castiel's shoulders, kissing back with a ferocity the angel hadn't anticipated.
Dean rolled them until he was the one on top, his hand pinning Castiel's wrists above his head and his legs trapped between Dean's.
"Sorry angel, but uh... You won't be on top unless I tell you to," Dean smirked, tugging on Castiel's tie with his free hand.
