Chapter 4: Parasite
(At Westover Doctor's Hospital…)
Carrie, Sue, and Tommy were waiting in the hospital lounge, waiting for Carrie to see someone about what was going on with her from within. Sue and Tommy kept Carrie as calm, but were also curious to about her, not just about what was going on with her from after gym class, but Sue & her family, as well as Tommy, had had suspicions about what was going on at her home, with her mother… Sue & Tommy didn't want to bombard Carrie with personal questions on her home life, but were determined now to help her, as well as make amends for all the times they hadn't helped her…
"Carrie White?" a doctor called, as Carrie, Sue and Tommy heard and got up…
"What exactly are they gonna do to us?" The voice asked in Carrie's head curiously and nervously.
"I don't know…" Carrie whispered nervously.
Sue and Tommy then guided Carrie to see whoever they needed to see, to find out what was happening to Carrie…
"Hi Sue, Hi Tommy, Hi Carrie." Sue's mother Eleanor Snell said kindly. "What seems to be wrong?"
"It's Carrie, mom, there's something… unusual happening to her…" Sue tried to explain to her mother…
"Ok Sue, Carrie can you tell me what's wrong with you?" Eleanor asked Carrie calmly, trying not to make too nervous… Eleanor had always had suspicions about Carrie's home life, as well as your mother…
"I'm… I'm hearing a voice in my head… I also seem to have… black tentacles coming out of the body…" Carrie hesitantly replied, not sure Sue's mother would believe her, or think she was crazy…
"That's all natural with us." The voice said in Carrie's head…
"Ok, when did this all start Carrie?" Eleanor Asked calmly in concern…
"I was just taking my shower after gym class… but then, this… Black liquid like thing appeared underneath me… then it latched on to my leg… before it sank into my body through my skin…" Carrie nervously described what she could remember… before she was mocked by Chris and the ultras…
"That was just us Bonding…" The voice explained in Carrie's head again…
"Did you see anything Sue?" Eleanor asked her daughter.
"No, But Carrie came running towards me and Chris and the others, she was screaming in fright, saying something had got her, and it was making her bleed to death… I think she was having her period when it all happened… but we all made fun of it… we threw tampons at her… I did stop before Chris and everyone else stopped… but I'm just as guilty as they all are…" Sue explained with guilt…
"We'll discuss that later Sue, I think we need to Carrie an MRI scan, maybe that will help us see if there's anything unusual with Carrie's body from inside." Eleanor said, knowing despite what Sue had done, she was still a nice person, much nicer than Chris Hargensen and her friends…
(A few minutes later…)
Carrie had changed into a hospital gown, and was now lying inside an MRI scanner tube, Eleanor, and her husband: Edward Snell, were at the controls for the scanner, while Sue and Tommy were waiting outside, back in the waiting reception…
"Ok Carrie, we're just gonna run some tests on you, don't worry it's not going to hurt, it's just a scan to see if there's anything unusual with you." Eleanor said over a microphone, as Carrie could hear from inside the MRI Machine.
"Ok…" Carrie replied nervously.
"Ok, here we go." Eleanor said, as she and Edward started up the machine, which began scanning Carrie's body…
But as the sound from with MRI scanner got louder and louder, Carrie felt sudden pain from the sound, causing her to scream and shake uncontrollably, while her veins began turning black, while a monstrous face kept forming over face, like something was trying to get out of her body… this was causing the MRI scanner screens to go static…
"What's happening in there? Carrie, are you ok?" Eleanor called with worry and concern.
Carrie was screaming and shaking in agony so much, she was unable to respond…
"Edward, shut it down!" Eleanor immediately called, as her husband shut the machine down, before Eleanor ran in to see if Carrie was ok, as she helped Carrie out of the tube…
"Carrie, are you ok? What happened?" Eleanor asked with worry and concern again…
"I… I think… Whatever is within me… it doesn't like loud noise…" Carrie groaned nervously.
"Not what, Who…" The voice groaned too.
(Later…)
Carrie & Eleanor were walking back to the waiting reception, where Sue & Tommy were waiting, hoping Carrie was ok. While Carrie had changed back into her clothes, Eleanor did ask about her mother… Carrie was nervous, but she came clean, and explained what had happened, as well as Margaret's true nature, which also confirmed Eleanor's worst fears and thoughts about Margaret White…
As Sue & Tommy saw Carrie coming through with Sue's mother, they quickly got up and walked over to see how Carrie was…
"How did it go in there with Carrie, mom?" Sue asked in concern.
"There was a problem, but we will be able to see what's going on with Carrie, it will take a bit of time though." Eleanor explained. "Sue, take Carrie home with you, me & your dad have to work late tonight… I also believe Margaret has also been abusing Carrie, Carrie admitted it…"
Sue and Tommy were shocked from what her mother had just said, and the fact that Carrie had admitted it, was even more shocking, to think that all this time, from Carrie being homeschooled, to being bullied by Chris and the others, Sue included, up to now… it was all down of Margaret's secret abuse at home…
"Shouldn't we tell the police or something?" Tommy suggested.
"I think that would just make it worse for Carrie… Besides, she's lost trust in her own daughter, she can live in misery without her, that's probably best punishment enough, Sorry Carrie." Eleanor apologized as she explained what she wanted her daughter to do, now she knew of Margaret White's true nature…
"It's ok, Mrs. Snell…" Carrie said nervously.
"I sort of agree… but I'd rather we had bitten her head off…" The voice agreed, but was still determined to seek more revenge on Margaret…
"Please stop it!" Carrie whispered sternly.
Carrie, Sue, and Tommy then returned to Tommy's Jeep, Sue & Tommy now understood more of Carrie's shy and sheltered personality and beliefs. As much as they questioned why Carrie kept it hidden for so long, but they did understand, due Carrie being such a kindhearted soul, she was trying her best to be nice to everyone, but it was difficult, with Margaret's abuse, as well as with Chris and the Ultra's torment at school…
"I'm sorry guys, I'm sorry I never said to anyone about what mama was like to me at home…" Carrie said with guilt…
"Hey, it's not your fault Carrie, getting out of problems like that is extremely hard…" Sue comforted Carrie.
"But whatever happens Carrie, we will help you." Tommy also comforted Carrie.
"Me too." The voice said in Carrie's head, comforting her too…
"Carrie, I know we all agreed that we wouldn't say anything to the police, But I do think we will have to tell Principal Morton and Miss Desjardin tomorrow at school." Sue told Carrie, which Carrie was nervous about, but agreed with.
"I understand Sue, But I think even if Chris & the others found out, it doubt it would change how they treat me every day…" Carrie said in worry.
"This has absolutely nothing to do with Chris or any of her friends…" Sue reassured Carrie.
"Don't worry Carrie, if they try anything more, we'll show them…" The voice also reassured Carrie, though she was unsure of whatever they had in mind for Chris and the others…
As they approached Tommy's jeep, Carrie was about to open the door, when she gasped from what she saw in the window…
"What's wrong Carrie?" Tommy asked in concern, as he and Sue came to see what was wrong…
What they all saw was shocking… Sue and Tommy's reflection on the window were there… but Carrie's wasn't… instead, was a creature instead of Carrie's reflection… the creature was gloss black, like the tar that Carrie saw in the showers, it 2 gloss white aggressive looking eyes, and lots of sharp teeth. It also had a very bulky female figure, with white vessels and veins… Carrie opened the door, to see if there was something in the car… but the car was empty… Carrie shut the door, but her monstrous reflection was still there, moving with all her moments… Carrie, Sue, & Tommy now knew that whatever was within Carrie's body, this was its true form…
"I don't understand, what exactly are you?" Carrie asked in concern and shock.
"I'm part of you now, Carrie." The creature responded in Carrie's mind and reflection…
"But if you're in my reflection, and not here… are you some kind of Parasite?" Carrie asked nervously.
"PARASITE?!" The creature responded in an insulted tone, before shooting more black tendrils of Carrie's back, pulling her onto the wall next to the car, as Carrie screamed slightly…
Carrie panicked, as Sue & Tommy tried to get her down, before attracting any attention… Carrie tried to move, but the tendrils kept her glued to the wall…
"Whatever you are within Carrie, please put her down now!" Sue said sternly to the creature within Carrie's body…
"Only if Carrie apologizes!" The voice replied sternly.
"Ok ok, I'm sorry I called a parasite, I didn't mean it in horrible way, I just wanted to know what you are exactly, look, we can discuss this like 2 women… okay?" Carrie apologized in a panicking sped up tone, as the tendrils retracted and allowed Carrie back on to her feet.
"Thank you." The voice replied, accepting Carrie's apology.
"Carrie, are you alright?" Tommy asked in concern.
"I'm fine Tommy, let just get home, before someone sees anything else." Carrie replied, as they all quickly got into Tommy's jeep, and drove off home…
As they drove off, someone in a black hatchback, had been watching them…
"Mr Drake, this is Treece, I think we've spotted one of the escaped symbiotes, it's found a host…" Roland Treece Radioed Drake…
"Are you sure, Treece?" Carlton Drake asked over radio.
"Sending you the video footage now." Roland replied, before sending video footage to Drake…
(Meanwhile, at the L.I.F.E Foundation secret base in Maine…)
Drake saw the footage of Carrie having tendrils shoot out of back, clinging her to the wall… he was shocked and amazed from what he was seeing…
"She's achieved symbiosis… Are you seeing this? Are you all seeing this, she's achieved Symbiosis!" Drake called to everyone in amazement… "Treece, is there any identification of the girl?"
"Coming in now Mr Drake…" Treece replied over radio, as Carrie's details appeared in screen…
"Carrie White… Student at Thomas Ewen High School, Chamberlain, Maine…" Drake read out… "Treece, return to base, we need to head to the high school tomorrow morning…"
"Are we to capture the symbiote Mr Drake?" Treece asked over radio.
"Negative, if anyone sees the symbiote, it'll cause panic, besides, we may need the symbiote, and it's host to track the other one…" Drake replied with a plan of action…
