Eddie Munson climbs out of his car, grocery bags in tow.
It's been 7 years since El defeated Vecna and the Upside Down in 1986. Since then, the sheep graduated, as did the everyone else. Including Eddie. Everyone moved on with their lives, got married moved away, and had kids of their own.
Eddie had married the love of his life, Chrissy and the two moved out of Hawkins into a small town about 3 hours away. The Party meets on a regular basis to catch up and play DND of course.
Quickly hopping up the stairs to the front door, Eddie had to suddenly drop the bags he was carrying.
"Daddy!" Mandy jumps into his arms.
"Hi sweetheart." Eddie juggles his 5 year old daughter and the groceries, entering the kitchen. "How was your day?"
The two of them chat for a few moments before Chrissy walks in. "Hey baby." she reaches over the counter to give a peck on her husband's cheek.
"Hiya. And how was your day?" Eddie asks.
Chrissy grins and looks at her daughter, "Have you told him yet?"
"Tell him what?" Mandy's eyebrows furrow in confusion before smoothing out with a look from her mom. Oh, that.
"Yeah, tell me what?" Eddie repeats, looking between the two.
They both smile widely. "Well I decided that it was time to..."
"You get to teach me DND!" Mandy shouts leaping out of her chair and into Eddie's arms. Eddie barely is able to catch her, shocked because of the news. He bellows out a laugh, and twirls with his daughter around the kitchen. "Yes! I've been waiting for this moment!"
"Okay, mister. Dinner first." Chrissy chuckles, beginning to set the table. Eddie and Mandy stop and look at her, both whining and pouting. "No," Chrissy puts her hands on her hips, "Eat. Then play."
With a few more grumbles, the family sits down to eat, laughing and smiling. Eddie is practically exploding at the thought of getting to teach his daughter his favorite game. He can't wait.
Which is why they all took their last bites, he quickly got up and did the dishes. "What's the rush, hon?" Chrissy asks with a knowing smile.
"You know what." Eddie smirks as Mandy runs out of the room. "I'll get it set up!" she yells.
Chrissy grabs the last of the dishes and bumps her hip against Eddie's. "Go help her. She'll probably mix the dwarfs and the elves mixed up."
"Oh the agony!" Eddie dramatically clutched his chest and headed into the living room. Smiling at his young daughter he began helping her set the game up.
Chrissy came in after a few minutes, plopping down next to her husband. "Alright, let's do this thing."
The rest of the night, the two parents taught their daughter the game of DND, memories flashing through their minds as they went through the quest. Eddie remembered the Party, his freshman, his sheep. Chrissy remembered the nightmare of Vecna, the comfort that happened after. Mandy smiled the entire time, giggling when Eddie sent the 'Hugging Monster' or the 'Kissing Dragon' after her.
Eddie was looking at the next of his plans when he felt Chrissy nudge his shoulder. "Eddie." she whispered. "Look."
Eddie glances up to find his daughter sleeping peacefully, with her head partially on the board and arm sliding one of the dragons close to the edge of the table. Eddie smiled, then whispered, "Then the two warriors find a cave to rest in, where they sleep for the rest of the night."
"Time to clean up." Chrissy says but Eddie stops her. "Uh, no way, we're playing tomorrow.
Chrissy grins and shakes her head as Eddie gently picks Mandy up. "Come on, let's get out ninja princess upstairs."
The family leaves the board game on the table, having creating new memories to build on the new ones.
AN: Hope you liked it, Eddiemunsonlover86! I had no idea what to call their daughter, so when Mandy popped into my head, I just rolled with it!
PLEASE READ!
Okay, so over the past two months of my giant writer's block (so sorry) I have made the executive decision to close requests. I have no idea if this is permanent or not but we'll see. This DOES NOT mean I'm not continuing to add prompts on this. I am continuing to write, just not accepting requests. The reason behind this is because I need to catch up. I keep going back and seeing the requests that I haven't gotten to and feel overwhelmed. So, for the time being, I'm closing requests and focusing on catching up on the older ones. I hope to get to them all, but we'll have to see. I'm so sorry if you haven't gotten to request yet, but I need to do this. Thank you all so much for the support and please keep reviewing, they mean so much to me! Write soon!
