Chapter 45 – Dark Side Fall.

It was a Declaration of War felt across the Universe. Cognito Inc – a company that had grown into a universe-spanning superpower due to the incomprehensible super genius of Doctor Genus – declared war on the most feared dictator in the Universe, the New God of Tyranny and supreme ruler of the dark world of Apokolips – Darkseid. This declaration was brutal with a mocking robot sent to deliver the severed head of Darkseid's son Kalibak to him in his own throneroom.

Cognito didn't wait for Darkseid's reaction, instead Cognito forces have already begun invasion of Apokoliptan territories in various systems in numerous galaxies. This war has been planned for a very long time and Cognito strategically placed their assets using their colonization efforts. The many worlds that have allied with Cognito are now supporting the destruction of Darkseid's forces on every front.

Alarms sound on an Apokoliptan shipyard, but their ten thousand heavily armed ships and one million vicious parademons are meant to take on armies. They have no way of stopping the home star of the shipyard from going nova due to a Cog stellar probe. Every planet and moon are annihilated by the tsunami of gravity and stellar plasma, and the shipyard is washed away like a child's sandcastle. Only sand-size particles remain to expand out into the warring universe.

Tens of thousands of Apokoliptan soldiers are blasted to pieces by soldiers and robots armed with some of the most advanced technology in existence. The slaves that once mined the resources of Darkseid's empire are freed and rescued by Cog Personnel. The resources are either stolen by Cog or destroyed depending on their usefulness to Doctor Genus.

The dark factories that once produced the weapons and other war machines of Darkseid's never-ending conquest are filled with blinding white light. They are filled with light, before they violently explode. What was once a symbol of fear on an enslaved world are now tiny fragments of metal raining down for a hundred kilometers in all directions. Soon the blackened skies begin to clear.

On a hundred worlds, Darkseid's forces were slowly winning against the native populations. Soon, these worlds would have become slaves to the dread ruler of Apokalip. Then, Cog ships appeared in orbit and open fired with their main guns on the New God Armada. The New God ships resist the torrents of energy a few microseconds longer than Brainiac's ships, then they are blown apart, turned into expanding clouds of plasma and dust.

Some Apokoliptan ships open fire on the Cog ships, but Cognito has studied their opponents for years. Even the most powerful energy beams and missiles of the Apokalip's flagship fail to breech the shields of the newest Cog vessels. One courier decides to add insult to injury by charging up its shields then flying through the flag ship at near-relativistic speeds. The result is like an anti-material round going through an apple.

Metron is a New Genesian New God. At some point in time, Metron created Motherboxes and Fatherboxes, miniaturized, living supercomputers which could draw energy from "source of all life". He also invented the boom tube technology, among other things. Metron is an extremely stoic New God whose only interest is knowledge, lacking empathy or emotion for others. He can be ruthless to those that cross him, but he's generally disliked by both the "dark gods" of Apokolips and the "light gods" of New Genesis.

As the Galaxy burns, he's currently having tea with the only person he acknowledges as his mental "rival" - Doctor Genus, Smartest Mammal in the Universe.

"Parallel Processing. Fascinating. You exist in multiple forms possessing different strengths but operating as one. I never considered doing so to increase my own processing speed." says Metron. "In another timeline, Granny Goodness acquired a device that allowed her to create a Doppelgänger called Gretchen Goode. After the duplication machine was destroyed, they were forcibly merged back together. Your method is clearly superior."

"You have been watching Cog TV?"

"It's access to easy data from the multiverse." says Metron, "How long do you intend to interrupt my own network?"

"Not for long, Metron. I'm letting you use my own portal network, until I restore the Boom Tubes. Without the Motherboxes and Fatherboxes generating Boom tubes, the logistics of this conflict is easier to deal with. Not that I couldn't handle it with the Tubes still active, but I have experiments to get back to."

"I completely understand. I do find it fascinating that you could program the Source Wall to shut down the boxes. When you implanted the concept of death into the Source Wall, you also left a backdoor?"

"I made sure to implant hidden rules in the universe, so my projects don't get messed up."

"I admit I'm envious."

Doctor Genus looks at one screen and taps a quick message.

"Sorry. The Forever People are worried about their daughter."

"The Motherbox that was shattered by Ash Grey and incarnated as a New God, correct?"

"Yes. I do hope you found my work acceptable. It was my first time playing with New God genetics." says Doctor Genus, "I've sent a quick message that their daughter will be feeling better soon. She will awaken to a Universe without Darkseid."

"Is that a giant robot?" asks Metron noticing something on a screen.

"It's a Gundam!"

An 18-meter-tall robot resembling a cross between a samurai and a red devil, appears in front of a fleet of Apokoliptan ships and attacks. It doesn't have a lot of long-range weapons, but it's absurdly fast becoming a crimson streak that tears through ship after ship. The beam saber in its hand is a blade of forcefield-confined plasma at temperatures hotter than the surface of a star. It slices through the thick armor of the battleships and causes critical damage in the blink of an eye. The soldiers barely have time to cry out before their ships explode.

The command ship, a massive mobile fortress covered in thick black and purple armor, opens fire with its numerous guns and smart missiles. The freakishly agile robot dodges the solid projectiles and energy beams, while firing shots from its helmet to destroy the missiles. It's almost like the devil robot is dancing in space to celebrate the Fortress's impending doom.

The massive space fortress opens like a flower and releases a massive destructive beam. The beam of energy washes away all the Apokoliptan ships in its path, reducing them to gases and molten droplets. The Fortress' commander willing to sacrifice his men to destroy a powerful unknown enemy. His efforts are in vain, as the Gundam floats in space protecting itself with a red energy barrier.

The Gundam moves so fast it appears to teleport and appears next to the fortress with its sword raised. The blade of the beam saber grows as more energy is pumped into it from its power core, until it's several times the height of the entire Gundam. The Gundam then slashes down from the "top" of the Fortress to the "bottom" in a single falling slash.

As plasma blade cut through the fortress' meter thick armor like its soft butter. Electrical systems overload as the beam of ionized matter pierces them, plasma conduits that transfer the ship's power explode, and computer systems are destroyed. Tubes containing coolant and hydraulic fluid explosively burst as they are superheated beyond their tolerances. Areas of the ship containing atmosphere explode as the air ignites as they released into the near vacuum of space. Soldiers within 10 meters of the glowing blade are incinerated and the explosions chain react through the ship.

The commander of the Fortress watches as the control surfaces explodes around him and only has time to cry out before he's incinerated.

"For Darkseid!"

The front of the Space Fortress sliced in half! Seconds later, there are huge explosions coming from the wound in the ship. The ship's armor plates crack apart as the layers of armor underneath bubble from internal explosions. Finally, the entire Fortress explodes releasing gases and debris in all directions.

There is no shockwave or sound as there is no atmosphere in space to carry the vibrations. Inside the cockpit of the Gundam, the armored pilot does hear sounds. Cognito installed an SFX App, so their pilots could have impossible space sounds to help against the maddening silence of space.

"For Cog!"

On the Planet, the destruction of the Fortress can be seen even during the day. The people in the Bunker can't react to it, because they have their own Gundam problem.

The Gundam is roughly the same size as the red-and-black devil Gundam, but it's white-and-blue with giant metal feathered wings that make it look Angelic. Each of the white metal "feathers" act as thrusters releasing streams of colorful particles, while it carries an immense double-barrel energy rifle. It points the rifle towards the thick armored doors, ignoring the attacks from tanks decorated by skulls and Parademons that are extinguished by its shield like mosquitos into a bug zapper.

A double particle beam lances from the rifle and pierces the thick metal doors of the bunker and half a dozen more layers of defense. The metal superheats and explodes, creating a thunderous shockwave so intense that tanks go flying like children's toys and Parademon bursts into the air.

"Fool! Don't you know we have a hundred innocent children imprisoned here!" says the Planet Commander on the communications with a vaguely German accent. He looks like a World War II SS officer with a thick mustache. The difference is he has gunmetal color skin, red eyes, and his uniform has Apokoliptan/New God symbology instead of Nazi symbology.

"I am aware." says the helmeted pilot, his voice lacking emotion.

"Don't you want to save them!?" yells the Planet Commander. Imprisoning civilian children in his bases worked in the past, preventing rebellion and keeping "do-gooders" out of Darkseid's plans.

"I already have."

The Commander turns to the native ten-year-old girl next to him. One dressed in clothing of a prisoner with restrictive bands around her wrists and an explosive laden pain collar around her neck. She goes from looking terrified to having a disturbing smile. She then dissolves into holographic particles, letting the collar and restraints fall to the ground. The collar explodes and the Commander is sent flying back by the blast. Despite damaging his hearing, he can also hear that he presumes there are ninety-nine other explosions.

Inside the angelic Gundam's cockpit, the pilot coldly pulls the trigger. Another double particle beam streaks down and pierces the remaining layers of armor. It pierces the bunker and creates a miniature nuclear explosion that vaporizes the Commander, the Apokoliptan soldiers, and their collaborators.

A young boy used to play with his robot action figures with his friends and get scolded by his parents for not doing his homework.

Then came the winged demons and cruel soldiers. His toys and home were burnt. His parents were taken away and he was forced to live in a dark dirty camp. Unlike the summer camp he went to with his friends, this place doesn't have games and fun stuff. They said everyone was now slaves of Darkside and they would obey or be burnt by Brimstone.

Brimstone is an evil robot. A giant red/black robot with black skull face and covered in flames. It always stood near the camp making it hot and dry all the time. He always wondered if there were evil robots, where were the good ones that are supposed to save people?

Then it happened.

Another giant robot appeared, this one looking like warrior with wings and holding a scythe. When it appeared, different soldiers and superheroes also appeared. They beat up the guards and made the painful collars around their necks disappear. The good robot, who the good soldiers called "Deathscythe" sliced the monster robot Brimstone into pieces.

For the first time in months, a little boy smiled in wonder.

Throughout the Universe, the forces of Cognito and their allies attacked the worlds under the rule of Darkseid. This war wasn't pure offense, as Darkseid's forces attempted to retaliate. Apokolips had placed numerous agents and machines around Earth in case the Deal with Vandal Savage and the Light ever failed. When all communication with Apokolips was lost and they learned of the declaration of war from the Cog networks, the Apokoliptan forces worldwide activated.

As always when innocent people need protecting and friends need support, Heroes rise.

*Doom*

In Metropolis, a spherical machine rose from underground at the command of an otherworld secret agent. The spherical war machine was like a super-tank with many layers of armor layered like an onion and dozens of advanced weapons. This weapon could literally destroy an entire major city in less than five minutes. It could also face the US Military that existed when it was hidden on Earth, but that was before Cognito rose the world's technological level. After the movements are disabled by Cog Agents, Superman moves like a speeding bullet and the force of a locomotive, causing the Apokoliptan war machine to go flying. Superman's attack causes a hundred layers of armor to implode and the machine lands in the Metropolis Bay where it violently explodes.

The agent of Apokolips tries to escape in the confusion, but he's hit by half a dozen stun beams and reduced to a drooling mess on the ground.

In another part of the city, Supergirl is fighting a New God that had been disguised as a human. The New God transformed into his true form is a dark eyed man with golden blonde hair. His business suit has transformed in the armored clothing of New God complete with a flowing cape. He looks like a supermodel from a fantasy book cover. His power becomes evident as he enslaves the minds of dozens of women and girls and uses them as shields against the Kryptonian beauty. He also attempts to use his power on Supergirl only to get a headache for his attempt.

"You aren't falling for my charm, woman?" asks the arrogant God, wondering how the female is able to resist his mind control.

"My husband is way better than you, and no Cog member will fall for your magician hypnotism act."

"Hypnotism act? I am the God of-" rants the New God, before Supergirl appears in front of him using her superspeed and delivers an uppercut. The New God's jaw explosively shatters sending blood and broken teeth flying from the thunderous strike. The enslaved women pause as their manipulated minds are having trouble understanding what just happened. The New God hits the ground with wet sound and a garbled scream.

"I also don't have time to watch a magic show."

In another part of the city, an assassin with an advanced sniper rifle takes aim and fires high velocity round at a human target. The round can pierce many shields and forms of physical armor and can destroy armored vehicles and equipment let alone organic targets. The assassin is surprised when the bullet is stopped by a force field, which then sends the bullet of extraterrestrial metal alloy back to it's sender at several times the velocity. The Assassin doesn't have time to react as the bullet pierce his mask and explodes out the back of his head along with a good portion of his New God brain. The corpse's active camouflage fails as it collapses on the building's roof.

At a secure Cog Building, Lois Kent (nee Lane) and her children wonder how they got there. A Cog employee offers her Cognito Coffee which she decides to accept.

In another part of the city, John Henry Irons, the Pro Hero known as Steel, brings his hammer down on Apokoliptan robot outside of Lexcorp. It was a spherical black-and-red machine the size of a beachball with numerous black mechanical tentacles illuminated by red lights.

The armored machine was supposed to break into the building and use its nanomachines to take over Lexcorp computer systems. It would then infiltrate the city's systems and act as support to other agents. What the machine didn't expect was to be stopped at the front door and a hero covered in armor smashed it with a very big hammer. The machine also didn't expect the hammer to pierce its shield and completely crush it.

*Doom*

In Gotham, Batman is dealing with a villain factory. Darkseid agents captured people and implanted them with biochips. On command, these chips would transform people into monsters resembling the feared Parademons programmed to attack people and create additional Parademons. The New Gods of Apokolips have used this method to infiltrate and destroy worlds, and Gotham was picked because it's been resisting the changes of Cognito. Batman is having some trouble, because he doesn't use lethal weaponry and he wants to save the innocent people the Parademons were.

The battle turns when Cognito-sponsored Heroes release pulses of rainbow-color energy from devices around the city. As the energy waves wash over the Parademons they collapse to the ground, paralyzed, many of them creating craters in the ground and roofs, and some crushing cars with their impacts. The jaws of the New Gods are dropping as there ten thousand parademons were just swatted like bugs.

"That's not possible! How in the name of the Source did they disable all of them!?" yells the Agent in red armor with black horns that makes him look like a Japanese Oni. He sounds very angry and barely restrained.

"We used a hyperspatial signal to activate the chips and link the Parademons in a network." explains the Agent in blue armor with white horns. His voice is cold and empty of emotion, "Doctor Genus must have realized this and released a high energy pulse through hyperspace."

"If you know that, why didn't you stop him!?"

"The level of calculations requires the use of a Fatherbox, and the Fatherboxes have been disabled." says "Blue Oni" holding up one of the Metron-designed devices.

"Dammit! They must have spied on us!"

"Correct."

The two Agents of Apokolips turn to see Jade emerge from the Shadows. They raise their weapons to attack, but she holds up her hand causing them to pause. They watch as a simulacrum of a New God heart appears in her palm, beating in sync with the hearts of the two brothers.

"Cognito has been aware of all of Darkseid's plans." says Jade.

"That's Lord Darkseid to-" yells the Red, only for Jade to lightly squeeze the heart. At the same time, the brothers feel pain in their chests as force is applied to their own hearts. The Blue Agent silently tells his brother to "shut up!".

"Cognito didn't just suddenly declare war against Apokolips. We have been planning this since Cognito's founding."

"Why are you telling us this?" asks Red cautiously.

"I'm keeping an eye on you until the others have made sure your self-destruct devices have been disabled.

Parademons have many nasty abilities, including self-detonation. When all else fails they can discharge themselves immolating everything around them. A self-destruct which is being disabled by Cog nanomachines while Jade was talking to the Oni Brothers.

"Are we to be your prisoners?" asks Blue as his brother Red growls.

"No. Servants." says Jade as she crushes the heart in her hand and the two Oni brothers collapse to the ground dead. Even New Gods can't survive having their physical hearts and metaphysical cores being crushed, their souls broken by a Demon Queen elevated into a True Goddess of Darkness.

"Rise."

A pitch-black darkness bursts from the corpses of the two New Gods. The amorphous darkness takes form of the two deceased extraterrestrial Oni Warriors. They are black and white humanoids with horns, but one's eyes glow with a blue flame, while the other one has burning red eyes that flare as he roars. The two new shadow servants are born to bow before the Goddess of Darkness as their knowledge becomes her own.

The Dark Goddess tilts her head, and the two servants reach down and retrieve the Fatherboxes from their own cooling corpses. They then hand the living machines to the Queen of Shadows. She smiles before effortlessly crushing the Fatherboxes and absorbing their souls into herself. As she opens her hands and lets the remains fall, dark copies of the boxes appear in her hands.

*Doom*

The Bat Clan don't notice the war crime (execution of prisoners), as they help Cog medical personal distribute vials of nanomedicine. The Cog nanomachines reverse the Parademonization, leaving over ten thousand people human and naked where they lay. They can never be completely human, unless they have their souls/minds transferred into clones, and most of them will keep the enhanced abilities of being technorganic.

In Gotham's Red-Light district, a police car runs over Sleez.

Sleez is a repugnant dwarf from the sewers of Armagetto on Apokolips. Sleez was once an advisor for Darkseid, but even the Dark God of Tyranny grew tired of Sleez's depravity and transported him to Earth. Using his power of mind and emotional manipulation he created an empire of depravity and hedonism in the heart of Gotham. When Cognito Inc began the cleanup of Gotham city, Sleez's empire was torn down around his head, and he had been hiding at a pornography studio since belonging to a human ally.

The Police Car transforms, revealing it was a robot in disguise. The large police car Autobot looks down at the crippled bleeding Sleez.

"Sleez of Apokolips, you are guilty of thirty violent crimes, over three hundred sex offenses, and over three thousand counts of robbery in your fifteen years on Earth."

"Wha... What about it, tin...tin man?" says Sleez coughing up blood.

"Your presence will no longer be tolerated." says the Autobot, its optics glow bright blue. A second later the Autobot's very large gun ensures Sleez is dead beyond a doubt and unlike in other worlds, he won't be appearing alive to continue his depravity.

Autobot Transformer and Cog Enforcer Lockdown looks down at the burning remains and remembers a case he encountered a year ago. A young girl was forced by Sleez to perform for a pornographic film. She committed suicide before she could get the help she needed, and Lockdown had to comfort a crying mother. Sleez escaped the long arm of the law and his metal fist for far too long. He transforms back into vehicle mode and leaves the corpse to be incinerated and cleaned up by Cog drones.

The Coda

The sisterhood of the Coda was a secluded clan of warrior women founded by the Kherubim warrior Zealot. Kherubim are an extraterrestrial race blessed with longevity, but as a result they also had low fertility. Due to this, any Kherubim female who becomes a mother must become a Priestess in their culture. Zannah loved being a warrior more than being a mother, giving her child to her sister while telling people her child had died.

This legend was the foundation of the Sisterhood known as the Coda, a completely female caste of warriors, devoted to the honor of combat. Centuries later – during the Kherabum-Daemonite conflict – two ships crashed on Earth. The Kherabim looking identical to humans, blended in, while the Daemonites had the ability to possess human hosts. It was during the Trojan War, that Lady Zannah, known as Zealot, founded an Earth-born Coda Sisterhood.

Princess Diana of Themyscira, also known as Wonder Woman, heard stories of other female warrior societies like her own Amazons, but she never expected to encounter them. Then she encountered Lady Zannah of Khera after Rorschach's raid on the Dragon King's Palace. Now, she is fighting the current Leader of the Coda.

"I'm impressed, Princess Diana. You are nearly as strong as me." says 6'4" woman with long black hair. She's dressed in form-fitting armor which is very similar to Diana's own Amazonian armor. The woman moves with such speed that the glow of her red eyes leaves trails in the air. Diana's decades of combat experience and training by century old warriors is put to the test against a warrior with similar experience and level of training.

"I have never fought a female warrior such as yourself Lady Grail." says Diana as she slides back from a punch she missed. She leaves trails in the concrete area ground from the slide.

The Coda Sisterhood watch from the sides of the Arena. They are all beautiful, strong women who thanks to Zealot's teachings and centuries of combat evolution, could tear through squads of special forces soldiers. Most of them are cheering for their leader, but a few are Wonder Woman fans or at least dislike the Leader enough to cheer for anyone else.

Grail, the Leader of the Coda is not a normal woman, even by Coda Sisterhood standards. The beautiful, gray-skinned Amazon is a demigoddess born from the union of the former Amazon Myrina Black and the God of Tyranny Darkseid. Grail's mother hoped her daughter would destroy Darkseid and bring the Amazons into a new Era with the isolation of the past. Born on the same day as Diana, the Oracle prophesized she would cause great destruction. Grail is incredibly powerful with Wonder Woman having to use strategy, as she can't defeat Grail with brute force.

"My mother believes that isolation of the amazons made them weak and went against their purpose. You are living proof that she was right. You have become stronger than your fellow Amazons by leaving that island. You have also made more changes to the world of man in the last century, than the Amazons have done in the last thousand years."

"So why are we fighting?" asks Diana as she manages to score a punch but does virtually no damage. Diana wonders if she should be more cautious about grey-skinned people, because the last time she had this much trouble was when she fought Ash Grey. In that battle, her Hephaestus made sword break against Ash's impossibly hard grey hide.

"A test. Many people can say many things, but experiencing things lets you make up your own opinion."

"I didn't expect you to be so..."

"Talkative?" says Grail looping Diana's Lasso of Truth around her wrist, allowing it to affect her. "I was originally a far more violent person who was obsessed with killing my father Darkseid, then the nature of the universe changed." says Grail, her red eyes glowing. She then whispers something to Diana. Diana's eyes widen as she realizes it's the Anti-Life Equation, but less than second later, the Life Equation also flows through her mind.

"What?"

"Demigods have domains, just like their divine parents. Herakles was destined to be the God of Strength after his death. You are the future Goddess of Truth, which is why the lasso resonates with you. I am the possible Goddess of Anti-Life, but the change also made me a possible Goddess of Life."

Doctor Genus rewriting the rules of the Universe when he created the Central Finite Curve, changes many things for many people. Darkseid lost the tool he desired to enslave the universe, as anyone who experiences the anti-life equation will inexorably experience the life equation in the same moment. Grail's transformation reminds Diana of Ash Grey – a being of destruction and darkness that works for the benefit of others.

"Do you still seek Darkseid's death?"

"Yes, but it doesn't need to be by my hand. I can sense my father's doom and it comforts me." says Grail, helping Wonder Woman rise to her feet, "The reason I called you is I know Cognito and Doctor Genus have already planned my father's end, and I want to bear witness."

Diana nods.

"I also wish to meet Ash Grey the Doomsday."

"That's OK, but Why?"

"I find him fascinating."

Diana feels worried.

*Doom*

It's a humanoid completely covered in form-fitting pitch-black armor with round lens that glow with a red light. This red light is also emitted from lights on the extremities and the ribs of the humanoid. What's even stranger is it has devices resembling skis attached to its boots and holding two blades that act as ski poles.

Time ago, after Darkseid conquered Apokolips, he captured Death or at least its aspect. This was the Black Racer, who he held under his control by anchoring him to a sentient host, becoming since then the greatest weapon of the Dark God. This entity was sent to kill most powerful conduit of the Speed Force known as The Flash, to stop the advancement of Earth Speedsters.

Barry Allen is not only being chased by the Black Racer, but a much more dangerous creature.

The creature referred to as the Black Flash is an entity created by the Speed Force to function as an anti-body against anything that might harm it. It also functions as the "Grim Reaper" of Speed Force conduits, appearing before speedsters when it is time for them to become one with the Speed Force.

As Barry Allen runs at faster-than-light speeds using the power of the Speed Force – the cosmic energy field and force based around velocity and movement - he is chased by the Black Racer and the specter of Black Flash.

The Black Flash resembles the Flash only wearing a black uniform decorated with red chest marking and red wings instead of gold like the Flash. His face resembles the face of a modern video game zombie with solid white eyes, grey necrotic skin, and exposed white teeth. It doesn't speak, only produces a howl that Speedsters can hear.

Barry can feel himself weakened and a fear growing in his heart, but he continues to run faster. The lightning of the speed force cracks around him and arcs across eternity as he accelerates. As the lightning streams from him, he notices something behind him. The Black Racer and Black Flash are running parallel to each other and are being slowed by his wake. It's as if the two are being pulled towards each other.

Barry comes to a realization in an attosecond. The aspect of death that was captured by Darkseid was a being known in the modern era as a Black Flash. They are two Black Flashes, one the current and the other enslaved, behind him. As Barry accelerates, the two aspects are being drawn together.

Barry runs faster than he has ever run before, creating a storm in the Speed Force. Barry can feel it, his body breaking down as it continues to reach incalculable speeds. He feels his physical form disintegrate into nothing, as his soul becomes one with the Speed Force. At the same time a shockwave washes over the black speedsters behind him, altering them.

Barry Allen awakens in a chamber surrounded by a clear liquid and panics at first, believing he will drown until he realizes it's oxygenated fluid. The fluid drains and the chamber open and ejects the naked League superhero. It takes him a nanosecond to realize he's in a Cognito cloning facility – Operation: Phoenix – and he nearly cries.

"I'm glad I got the life insurance."

One of the scientists and fellow speedster hands Barry a towel.

"What happened?"

"You did it Barry." says the Cog Pro-Hero holding up a tablet showing a video. Doctor Genus managed to reach all parts of the Universe, including every plane of reality such as the Speed Force. The nigh-indestructible probe managed to survive the storm and the shockwave to witness the aftermath of Barry's run.

The new Black Flash wears a hybrid costume, a fusion of his normal attire and the Apokaliptan armor of the Racer. Its face is covered by a skull-faced helmet with glowing white eyes. He no longer has the skies or blade/poles, instead he stands before Priest and Priestess of the Black Lantern Corp. He looks at the camera and nods as if to say thanks to Barry Allen.

As Barry gets up, he feels a surge of power like the first time he rode the lightning.

"When Darkseid captured the Black Flash to become the Black Racer, he damaged the Speed Force. This is why speedsters in our universe were so slow compared to other universes, at least at first. When the Black Flashes fused back together, the Speed Force was fully restored." says the speedster.

"Let's see. I ran away from two aspects of Death, breaking all speed records in the universe, had a painful physical death, ascended to a higher plane of existence, and was brought back to life by Cognito's cloning facilities. I need a vacation. A long vacation."

"Deluxe Cog Vacation – both Physical and Amusphere - is included in your operation: Phoenix package along with counseling from Cog Psychology." says the Pro-Hero, looking at the policy, "We don't want our Heroes going to pieces after proving they are true Heroes."

Operation: Phoenix is one of the names for Cognito's clone resurrection project. If a member of the project is killed by enemy or accident, their mind and soul are transferred to a clone body kept at a secure Cog facility. Since super heroism is a very dangerous job, most Heroes get Cognito Insurance, but Doctor Genus makes sure they can't be reckless. The only people that don't get the insurance are either non-Cog heroes that fear Cognito, arrogant fools that don't believe they can die, or those heroes that can resurrect themselves. An example of the latter being the greater avatar of The Green - Swamp Thing – who can create a new body if the old is destroyed.

"Cognito really does have all the solutions, don't they?" says Barry, "Shit! What am I going to tell my wife!? Sorry I was late honey, I died stopping as speedster aspect of Death!?"

He's handed a tablet with the article displayed titled "How to Tell Your Loved You Died and Were Resurrected."

"You guys need this that-often you're always have it bookmarked?"

"Spouses do tend to notice when the bodies of their loved ones have less 'mileage' on them."

Martian Manhunter is dealing with a very troublesome opponent.

"Rahahaha! Having trouble, Martian Manhunter~? Come a little closer and I will show you a new world of pain." says the opponent sounding megalomaniacal. He's a surviving member of Intergang currently inside a suit of pitch-black power armor and generating cosmic flames from numerous ports. This plasma-based flame can't be extinguished by normal methods and is the perfect weapon to use against pyrophobia-suffering Martians.

Intergang was a nationwide criminal organization headquartered in Metropolis. It was run by various crime bosses and armed with Apokoliptian weaponry and technology supplied by the evil New Gods of Apokolips. After Intergang was wiped out on Earth, a small group that was off world became subjects of experimentation. Those with metahuman potential had their genes awakened, while those who lacked potential were cybernetically bonded to mechanical suits. The laughing maniac doesn't even remember how much he screamed in fear and pain as he was bonded to his suit, his mind thoroughly manipulated.

Martian Manhunter soars into the sky so fast it creates a sonic boom.

"That's right, Martian! Run, you green-skinned coward. Run before the power of-"

Suddenly, there is a loud whistling sound, and the nameless pilot of machine learns the truth of the Universe. Heroes aren't people who are without fear, courage is overcoming fear to do what needs to do. Also, Superheroes can be seriously crazy. A hyper-dense Martian Manhunter smashes into the armored suit like a meteor and smashes him through the ground. The powered armor smashes through several floors of the parking garage before creating a crater in the basement.

As lightning begins to violently arc from the severely damaged suit, Manhunter does the smart thing and gets clear of the parking lot. Trapped inside the machine, the pilot can only scream as the power armor violently explodes. The blast is so massive the parked vehicles in the parking garage are destroyed and the entire multi-story concrete and steel structure collapses into rubble.

"No civilians in the area, only Kenny was killed." comments a Cog Robot as it floats next to Martian Manhunter.

"Kenny?"

"Kenneth "Kenny" Kane. He was originally one of Bruno Mannheim's men, but after a couple failures against Superman he was sent off world. According to records stolen from Apokolips, he lacked a metagene, so they fused him with a war suit and placed him in stasis on Earth."

Manhunter is surprised to learn thar Cog has access to Apokolip's research data, though he shouldn't be. Doctor Genus and Cognito have shown they have a constant technological and tactical advantage over everyone. There are no secrets in the universe they can't uncover and no problem they can't eventually solve, and they know it. Despite the League having more experienced Heroes, younger Cog Heroes tend to look down at League members as if they are heroes past their prime.

Suddenly, half a dozen Cog Pro-Heroes arrive.

"Eric Ennis is in custody." says Cog Hero number 1 – a beautiful woman with blue eyes and long red hair dressed in a dark red and white costume with a bird theme. She is Holly Granger, also known as Hawk, a superheroine empowered by a Lord of Chaos - T'Charr. "He'll live."

"Kyle Kelly is in custody." says Cog Hero number 2 – a beautiful woman with blue eyes and short white hair dressed in a blue and white costume with a subtle bird theme. She is Dawn Granger, sister to Holly and superheroine Dove. She is empowered by the Lord of Order Terataya. Unlike most Lords of Order and Chaos, Terataya and T'Charr (and their avatars) can work together seeing a balance between the two forces.

"Stanford Sloan is in custody." says Cog Hero number 3 – Xiao Yan, also known as Defiant. He stands an athletic 198 cm tall with black eyes and long black hair tied in a ponytail. He dresses in clothing out of a Xianxia (immortal heroes) novel and currently standing on a floating board. A man who shares the name and appearance with the protagonist of the famous manhua Doupo Cangqiong (Battle Through the Heavens), but whose powers are plant-based. He was originally the son of a martial artist who awoke a minor power due to Flowering Wood Dragon, but he managed to developing a cultivating method that improved his abilities.

"All civilians have been evacuated to safe areas." says Pro Hero number four. She is Ochako Uraraka, also known as Pro-Hero Uravity. A hero student from the world of My Hero Academia, she has grown into splendid Heroine, saving thousands with her gravity-manipulating Quirk.

"What about the fifth one?" ask Pro Heroes number five and six. The elf-like Wonder Twins are extraterrestrials who came to Earth to train to become Heroes. The Meta Star Academies have become so famous that many other worlds are sending students to learn at them.

The female twin is connected to the Red, able to shapeshift into various animals, both terrestrial and extraterrestrial. She originally thought her powers were weak, but after encountering the hundreds of Red Metahumans on Earth, she realized she was on the upper tier and her skills improved with her confidence.

The male twin is connected to the Clear, able to transform into a watery liquid that he can manipulate, changing both shape and temperature at will. This means he can become mist to avoid physical attacks, become a cloud of flesh-melting steam, or become a golem of super-hard ice. He thought he was weak, but after meeting other Clear Metahumans and Atlanteans, he improved by leaps and bounds.

"SMASH!"

There is a thunderous sound as Pro Hero Deku's Fist empowered by the power accumulation legacy Quirk [One-for-All] smashes into the Apokoliptan armor of the fifth one. Seconds later, the power armor crashes into the parking garages rubble in front of the group. It's embedded upside down with the feet in the air and coming apart. The side of the armor bursts open in a spray of mech fluid and a tangled spaghetti of wiring. It reveals a stunned blonde man linked to the power suit.

"Mama. I don't want spaghetti tonight." he mumbles before he passes out and if this universe was an anime, the group would be sweat dropping.

"Leopold..." says Izuku over the communicators.

"... is right here." finishes Defiant, "That's all of them. They are all alive except for the one who fought Manhunter."

"I thought League avoided killing criminals?"

Manhunter can feel his brow twitch. He needs a vacation.

Recently, an Apokoliptan raid on an Nth Metal refinery brought the Justice League to Thanagar to investigate. Nth metal is a metal with special properties, which is extremely rare in the universe except on Thanagar. On Thanagar is a key metal in their anti-gravity technology, such as the belts that allow Thanagarans to fly with artificial wings. The Thanagaran soldiers criticized the League heroes for being so defensive/reactive to problems in the universe – such as metahuman trafficking and Apokoliptan expansion. Cognito Inc on the other hand has been extremely active, expanding into all corners of the universe and solving every problem they encountered.

Hawkman and Hawkwoman didn't like the criticism by their own people, so they are more than willing to work together with their fellow Thanagarans to smash Apokoliptan operations. The fact that Cog disabled the base's communications, automatic defenses, and ability to open Boom tubes to summon reinforcements makes the mission at lot easier. The fact that Cog provided portals that allow Thanagaran forces to bypass all outer defenses and sensor networks also help vastly.

Onboard the Fleet flagship is a legendary Thanagaran known as Deron Ved, also known under the codename Darkwing. He was a famous police officer who established the current incarnation of the planet wide Thangarian police force and retired with honors. He was pulled out of retirement because his world needed a symbol and Cog was willing to help him return to his prime.

"Cognito didn't need our help to destroy this Supply Base. They tested the extremes of their anti-metal beams on Nth metal and the results were explosive. With all the stolen Nth metal stored on that base, one anti-metal beam would destroy the base and turn the planetoid into scattered fragments." stats Lord Darkwing, as he watches his soldiers smash Parademons with their enhanced Nth metal maces. The weapons supplied by Cognito are also super effective against Apokoliptan armor and technology.

"Then why?" asks Commander Hro Talak.

"Honor. Cog is giving the enemies of Apokolips a chance to obtain vengeance. Only the powerful can afford to be generous and Cog is generous to all its allies!"

Darkwing turns and fires the blasters mounted on the back of his right fist. The beams pierce through an invisible enemy, now barely visible due to the disruption. The active camouflage fades to reveal a shocked Thanagaran man with a bald head and golden eyes. The assassin is dressed in a black armored suit with a bird theme. A non-functional Fatherbox indicates he's a traitor and the smoking holes in his chest indicate he's in deep trouble.

"Blood Hawk, also known as the Butcher Bird. An espionage agent that betrayed his world to Darkseid." says Darkwing, as he walks closer to the assassin. The assassin can't reply because he's having trouble breathing due to both the holes in his chest and Darkwing's fingers being around his throat. Blood Hawk wonders why the self-destruct hasn't gone off and ended his suffering.

"Cog installed special devices in our ships to disable Apokoliptan technology. If you had come in with Thanagaran technology or even a primitive pipe bomb, you would have had more success." says Darkwing with smile as his fingers tighten around Blood Hawk's throat, "I lost many good comrades, many good friends to you, traitor. As much as I want to spend my time torturing you, I have a duty to attend to."

There is a loud sound, the wet crunching of bone as Blood Hawk's spine snaps in Darkwing's iron hard grip. Darkwing tosses the corpse to the ground and turns back to the monitors. There are less Parademons and Apokoliptan soldiers, and explosions are starting to spread through the base.

Hro Talak understands. Those Cog devices could have set off alarms that an assassin was onboard the ship, but instead they informed Darkwing and set things up so Blood Wing had a clear path to his doom. Cog fed Darkwing his prey.

The Thanagarian Mace is a Nth Metal weapon that the many incarnations of Hawkman and Hawkgirl usually carry around. An oversized spiked metal sphere at the end of a metal handle that due to Nth metal properties can be featherlight without losing its mass and can disrupt energy fields including magic. Many would wonder why extraterrestrial police officers would carry around an oversized blunt weapon that has been on Earth since pre-history.

SMASH

They are very good at using Maces!

These Nth metal maces can break down doors, intimidating hardened criminals, smashing military-grade combat robots, shattering boulders thrown by rampaging metahumans, and giving Cthulhu rip-offs lethal headaches. Hawkman's mace is currently smashing Parademons out of the air like oversize insects much to the horror and frustration of the base commander.

"Why is this happening!? How can we be losing and this badly!?" he screams with a vaguely German accent (which makes no sense). He fires powerful beams from a small yellow gun, but Hawkman blocks with his mace. His aim is not the best and several of his own soldiers are pierced and killed by the yellow beams.

"Apokolips made three mistakes."

"Mistakes!?"

"Number one; you stole from Thanagar, harming our people in the process." says Hawkman as he delivers a strike that sends the commander flying and smashes his gun. "Number two; you messed with Cognito and the smartest mammal in the universe." says Hawkman as the commander makes more guns appear and is uppercut with the Mace. The commander tumbles in the air as blood and teeth fly in different directions. "Number three; you got close to me!" yells Hawkman as he brings his mace crackling with lightning down, smashing the commander towards a large machine. The Commander smashes into the machine creating an explosion of glass and chemicals. There is then a larger explosion and soon there is a chain reaction of explosions that annihilate most of the remaining base.

There are many people who will do anything for power, the power to dominate the lives of others. There are many ways that people attempt to achieve this type of power. Mundane people often use money and politics to control the lives of others. They lose that power when either the oppressed rebel against their oppressors or when a more powerful group takes the power from them.

The Rise of Cognito Inc was the fall of many such groups. The corrupt companies that once exploited their workers in the name of profit found themselves helpless before Cog. Politicians and businessmen who once made all the big decisions in dark rooms, found their evil deeds exposed and the sources of wealth taken from them. Even the most powerful of tyrants found them bowing before the Scientist Supreme – Doctor Genus.

Zatanna Zatara is currently fighting against one group's desperate attempt to regain power. A group of rich businessmen and politicians attempted to use magic to regain their fortunes. The foolish men had been told that the dark ritual would summon spirits into their bodies to grant them powers. Instead, the ritual summoned spirits to take over their bodies and intended to mind control tens of thousands in the name of their God – Darkseid.

"Pils!"

Half a dozen possessed cultists slip on the ground as surface friction drops to zero.

"Gnihtolc emoceb ydob sgnidnib!"

The robes of half a dozen cultists explode into cloth ribbons and then wrap around them, weaving into strong bindings.

"Nruter ot Rednes!"

The eldritch blasts of half a dozen more cultists stop less than a meter from Zatanna, before shooting back at their casters. The casters are blasted into the wall of the ritual chamber.

"Llaw dloh ym seimene!"

The wall ripples and feminine stone arms like those of statues form and wrap around the cultists that were thrown into the wall.

"Lla esoht taht ees em, lla esoht taht raeh em, lla esoht taht etah em - PEELS!"

Zatanna unleashes a very strong sleeping spell that causes nearly all the remaining cultists to collapse to the ground unconscious. Only the possessed leaders remain awake to face the League heroine and Mistress of Magic. Zatanna notes that one of them is a magus who was exiled from the communities for using mind control (especially on young women). The other two are a former politician whose career was ruined when Cog exposed that he liked "very young" girls and a businessman whose hardcopy list of white-collar crimes could be used to wrap a full-size Bank. The former must be the reason the latter two were able to escape the mundane police.

They raise their arms, and the unbound unconscious cultists rise to their feet like puppets controlled by unskilled puppeteers. Their movements are unnatural and look painful, but it's clear they are still unconscious.

"The God of Tyranny shall rule." says the three, eyes glowing and voice distorted, "Darkseid Is..."

"History. He just doesn't know it yet." says Zatanna, "Brosba lla dnim cigam dna esaeler otni gnihton."

Zatanna's new spell releases a wave of light and then glowing mist – magic - begins to stream from cultists into Zatanna's body. The puppeteer-ed cultists collapse as their strings are cut and soon the leaders are shaking and screaming as their own power is ripped from their bodies. Zatanna's eyes glows as an aura of magic burns around her, before she releases the accumulated power upward. The magic becomes a beam that pierces the ritual chamber.

Dark shapes jump out the bodies of the leaders as they collapse unconscious. The amorphous intangible dark blobs fuse together and morph into a tangible being. The creature is a hideous blob of pulsating purple flesh with numerous long fleshy tentacles, numerous gold-iris eyes and toothy mouths. Much to Zatanna's disgust the blob continues to change, taking a humanoid form with arms ending in fingers, biped legs, and a head, but it's still covered in extra eyes and mouths. White skin forms on the flesh leaving a humanoid (sexless as a ken doll) with tentacles for hair.

"I am the Tool of Darkseid, his will my command." says the New God of Mental Domination using both his humanoid mouth and the mouths hidden under his white skin.

"Nrub ot Sehsa."

The Tool of Darkseid is covered in intense magical flames that could easily reduce a mundane man to ashes. Instead, the mystic flames disperse revealing a completely unharmed. Not even the fake-looking skin suit looks damaged, and the tentacles still look slimy.

"I am immune to magic in this form, Zatanna Zatara of Earth. What will you do?" says the grinning abomination.

"I will call a friend."

"You think you have time?"

"I am already here." says a voice behind the Tool of Darkseid and he turns to see Powerman, formerly known as Project Match. He stares at the Tool with eyes that glow before unleashing his powerful heat vision. While mystic flame failed to burn the fake-looking white skin, the heat beam obliterates the entire upper body. The damage reveals that Tool doesn't have an internal skeleton or major organs, it's just a mass of interwoven tentacles. It immediately starts to regenerate its upper body, but Powerman fires a second blast that disintegrates the bottom half.

Kent looks down at the ashes and scorch mark. Superman disproves of Heroes using lethal force, but most enemies can't be mistaken for Humanoid Eldritch Abominations. In these cases, you can't even determine if a creature is dead or just dormant. He can still detect strange radiation emanating from the ashes.

"That it?"

Zatanna pulls out a small hexagonal quartz crystal from her Cog-made storage unit. It's natural quartz that her magi ancestors used, but nano-Quartz was made by Cognito for industrial, decorative, and magical purposes. Using traditional methods, a magi could cut tiny runes into a crystal if they were a master of the art. Using Cognito's nanotechnology, you can cover a Quartz in microscopic runes only a few atoms in length.

"Laes Stirips nihtiw Latsyrc"

There is an unholy howl as the crystal in her hand vibrates and darkens. When it turns Vanta Black, the vibrations stop, and purple chain patterns appear on the crystal.

"Now we are done."

Rock Creek Park is a large urban park that bisects the Northwest quadrant of Washington, D.C. The park was created by an Act of Congress in 1890 and today is administered by the National Park Service. It's normally a beautiful place. The main section of the park comprises 1754 acres (2.74 mi2, 7.10 km2), along the Rock Creek Valley. It has numerous historical sites, nature trails, and recreation facilities.

Captain Atom (Nathanial Adams) has been to this park many times, but this time he's trying to save the Park. He and his wife Lady Atom (Angela Adams) are currently working together to save those memories.

The threat is a dozen glowing humanoids who are generating so much heat and radiation that trees are beginning to ignite around him. These humanoids are glowing blue and howling, occasionally releasing flashes and shockwaves. A normal human would die from radiation sickness from even a single flash and the shockwaves are hot enough to shatter bone to powder.

Thankfully, Cognito has opened portals and transported both Cog Pro Heroes and robots to help. Some of the Heroes are using their abilities to slow down the dozen radioactive metahumans, while the others are putting out fires, clearing debris, and keeping civilians away. Finally, the Atoms begin to drain away radiation along with a couple of Gamma heroes. It's hard, but soon a dozen naked metahumans collapse to the ground unconscious.

"Why are they naked?" asks Angela.

"I'm guessing their clothing wasn't resistant enough." says one of the Gamma heroes. He's a tall young man with green eyes, green skin, and blond hair dressed in black decorated with green.

"There are collars around their necks." says Captain Atom, pointing at the red/black collars around the necks of the unconscious group.

"I got it." says another Hero. This one is a female genius-type hero dressed in form-fitting protective armor with wings. She is dressed in a bright pink with a black face plate showing emojis. "Control signal disabled. Mind control disabled. Self-Destruct is also disabled. Damn I'm good."

"Control your Ego, Selena." says the Gamma, "This is a metahuman trafficking."

"Cog just nabbed the agent. The merch was supposed to be transported to Apokolips, but the agent panicked when all communication and transport was cut." says Selena, the pink armored genius. "Oh. This is interesting."

"What?" asks Captain Atom.

"They deliberately attempted to create a variant of Gamma mutant. That's why they were putting out more rads than the Elephant's Foot."

The Elephant's Foot is the nickname given to a large mass of corium and other materials formed underneath the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, near Pripyat, Ukraine, during the Chernobyl disaster of April 1986, notable for its extreme radioactivity. Back in 1986, it would lethally irradiate a person in less than five minutes.

Lady Atom is frowning, but Selena sounds positive.

"Don't worry. Cog will be able to help them. Either giving them control of their powers or stuffing them in clone bodies!" says Selena, sounding way too hyper. She then gets a call, "Oh! It's Entrapta-sempai!"

PDX-357 is a volcanic world deep in Apokoliptan controlled space. It's a small world, but the harsh gravity of its home stars has covered the planet in active volcanoes. It's a planet of mountains, active volcanoes, and inactive volcanoes. It's a planet of volcanic ash deserts, rivers of lava, and lakes of corrosive chemicals. The dark sky of ash clouds routinely rain ash and acid while lightning arcs. The toxic atmosphere, lead-melting temperatures, and high levels of radiation have earned this planet the informal classification of "Demon Planet."

On this energy-rich planet, hidden deep underground, is a weapon factory. This factory produced the most dangerous weapons of Darkseid's army, so dangerous that they could not be produced on Apokolips. Also, despite Apokolips' liberal use of slave labor in other factories, the factories of this world are staffed by robots and cyborgs with their freewill removed. Currently, alarms are going off on this world because something has never happened – they are being invaded.

"HULK SMASH!"

The Hulk arrived with his own line. In his universe, an experiment with gamma radiation resulted in Dr. Bruce Banner transforming into an immensely powerful, green-skinned giant who would only grow stronger the angrier he got. Thanks to Cognito Psychology Division, Hulk no longer has the mind of a child. Instead, the various forms of Bruce and the Hulk have fused together to form a singular being possessing the abilities of all.

The Hulk smashing the heavily armored factory isn't the normal Hulk. Instead of a 230cm tall muscular green humanoid, this Hulk is 9-meter-tall humanoid mountain of stone-like flesh that erupts fire and energy like a volcano. This form of the Hulk is so powerful that even getting close to the titan is enough to destroy the robots and cyborgs of the factory.

He has a savage grin, which on a humanoid volcano, is terrifying. He slams his hands together unleashing a Titan-level "Thunderclap" attack and a massive shockwave of cracking red-gold energy ripples through the factory. Its destructive power is like that of a blast wave from a thermonuclear bomb, turning structural metal into vapor and blowing it away like a hurricane.

The Apokoliptan weapons designed to destroy entire worlds in a thousand horrific ways are erased from existence. These weapons were so dangerous that even Darkseid would not permit them to be on Planet Apokolips, but they were wiped away with a single attack.

The central computer attempts to develop a plan, but Darkseid's scientists never predicted this event. The defense systems meant to stop warships don't even scratch the Hulk. It can't transport weapons to other worlds with its teleportation systems sealed. It can't do anything to stop the Hulk from destroying everything, so it does the other thing it can do. It self-destructs and the entire factory explodes with the force of Earth's entire nuclear arsenal.

It's an immense explosion. The massive blast makes thirty-foot Titan Hulk land on his ass. The massive blast crater is soon filled with gushing lava.

After a few minutes, Hulk reverts to his original, Green-skinned self and calls out.

"Cog, the factory is history. Send me home."

"Opening portal to decontamination. You're stronger than everything, but the dirt on your feet could wipe out cities." says an electronic female voice as a portal opens.

"I could use a shower."

When the War against Apokalips began, sleeper agents were activated around the world with orders to eliminate key targets. The problem with Apokolips' plans is Cognito countered them at every point. Every person that had been secretly mind controlled into become a potential terrorist were caught and their programming was erased, leaving those unaware people wondering where they got their combat skills from. Those that were willing to work with Apokolips were captured and imprisoned as traitors to humanity.

The sweep of agents wasn't perfect and some agents in remote areas awoke. One such group was from a small town in the middle of nowhere. A place without any fancy technology, simple farmers that don't need high education, and boys who like hunting, alcohol, and their cousins (in-bred as-applicable). The town of Dunwich was never interested in big cities except when they needed a super-smart doctor, but today Cletus needed to see the Big Apple.

"Alright people, reach your hands to the sky!" says Cletus. He's a tall, thin man with brown eyes and short messy brown hair. He also has big ears, a large nose, and buckteeth that are almost comical in size. They are so big, some of the patrons wonder if he's Red Metahuman connected to Rodents. He's dressed in a baseball cap, plaid shirt, dark overhauls and boots, looking like he stepped out of the woods. Instead of a shotgun, he's holding a black-and-purple energy rifle.

"So, why are you holding people hostage?" asks a beautiful red-haired woman.

Cletus looks at the pretty redhead and his mind goes into a fog.

"I don't know, Pretty Woman. Last night, I was planning on going on a fishing trip with Junior, but when I woke up a voice kept telling me to go to New York for some fella called Darkseid. The voice even told me where to get this fancy laser gun and to work together with the other guys. Normally, I would never work with Billy Ray and Charles Ray, those boys stole from their mamas and wrecked Ike's barn. Trigger is also a complete pervert that you can't take anywhere, not even Church!"

"Listening to Darkseid doesn't sound like a good thing."

"Ya'll might be right. I didn't want to come to New York, it's full of crazies, but this voice won't shut up. Hey! It stopped! The voice stopped! It stopped when I talked to you, Pretty Woman." says Cletus, feeling happy.

"My name is Mary-Jane." says Mary-Jane Parker (nee Watson). Thanks to super-science she possesses superhuman abilities including the ability to generate pheromones that can calm the minds of others. These chemicals are keeping Cletus calm, so Cognito technology can access and disable the mind control chip in Cletus' head. "You should give that gun to the authorities."

"Give up a fancy gun?"

"It's not like you can keep it clean or buy ammo for it. You also get a reward for turning in one of Darkseid's guns."

"You are one smart lady. You must be married to a lucky fella."

"Yes, I am. How did you guess?"

"All the good ones are taken." says Cletus, as he relaxes his hold on the rifle, "A beautiful, smart woman could easily find a great guy. I was lucky to find my own girl - Ellie Mae – and lucky to survive her five big brothers."

There are some screams as two more rednecks roll down the street in trashcans. They are tightly bound in sticky synthetic spider silk and crying. They are quickly followed by a hero in a red-and-blue spider-themed costume swinging on a line of the webbing. A second hero dressed in a similar costume only black-and-red follows the first.

"This is why you don't play with fancy guns in New York. It's filled with those crazy heroes."

Planet Toho

The Death Head Base in the deserts of Planet Toho. The people of Toho have constantly rebelled against the rule of Apokolips, so Darkseid sentenced the world to Death.

The immense military base is built around a tower that extracts the magma of the planet, like a twisted version of geothermal power. Darkseid does this to worlds to extract their energy resources knowing fully that the planet will eventually be bled to death. The base contains thousands of anti-aircraft guns that could wipe out a fleet of spaceships in orbit, let alone planes in the planet's skies. Even if those fleet could fire their main guns, the base is protected by energy shields. Even if the beams incinerated all life on the planet, the base would remain unharmed. The base also contains an army of ten thousand parademons placed to make sure Planet Toho would die.

They don't expect a small spherical probe barely half a meter in radius to fly past their defenses and open a small portal long enough to release a single person. A young pro-hero who grins savagely as he falls instead of worrying about his lack of a parachute.

Years ago, a young metahuman hybrid was made by Cadmus using genetics of giant monsters from other worlds.

One monster was a metallic plant-based organism in the form of a giant saurian monster. This monster known as Godzilla appeared with many other monsters at the end of the twentieth century, forcing humanity to abandon Earth. After twenty thousand years, Godzilla Earth was the absolute ruler of the Earth that neither the returned humanity nor world destroying King Ghidorah could stand against. Humanity could only bow before the King and learn to live under its rule.

One monster was the result of a scientist's attempt to preserve the remnant of his late daughter. At first it was just a rose spliced with the girl's DNA, but after the plant was nearly killed, he added G-Cells from that world's King of Monsters – the radioactive amphibious theropod dinosaur Godzilla. Instead of merely regenerating the plant, it transformed into a giant monster Biolante controlled by the soul of the deceased girl and helped stop the rampage of Godzilla.

The hybrid clone wanting to be a Pro Hero joined Meta Cog Academy and their advance program. He not only learned at an accelerated rate, but his body also matured faster due to his hybrid genetics. He's classified as a gamma mutate as he possesses incalculable levels of strength and regeneration like the Incredible Hulk. He also had one ability that was only unlocked with his contract with The Green.

"GIGAS!"

The hybrid clone – known as G-Man – is surrounded by green lightning that arcs across the sky. There is a thunderous shockwave as the clone expands, growing larger and larger at such a speed it pushes the air like an explosion. The muscular man who stands over two meters in height transforms into very muscular reptilian monster that stands over three hundred and fifty meters. A dai-kaiju with a thick dark green hide like that of a great tree, powerful claws, and a long muscular tail. Its maple-leaf-shaped dorsal plates glow and steam erupts from the monster's mouth which contains many rows of sharp teeth.

As his body, weighing hundreds of thousands of tons if not millions of tons, hits the ground at terminal velocity, it's like a nuclear bomb going off. The multi gigaton explosion creates a fiery shockwave that washes over the shields of the base as the group ripples like water on the ocean. The shield generators overload without Fatherboxes to control/enhance them and their explosive self-destruct kills half a dozen Parademons and injures a dozen more.

Cognito machines hidden in the atmosphere prevent the clouds of dust and debris from turning into an extinction level event. The Gigas Smash could have easily made the Toho people as extinct as dinosaurs of Earth were thought to be (hidden islands of dinosaurs were found and given a chance people cloned dinos).

G-Man Gigas doesn't waste time as his dorsal fins glow and crackle with lightning. He opens his mouth wide and releases an insanely powerful beam of radiation. It's like an atomic explosion focused into a beam of pure destruction. The Parademon swarms don't need to get hit by the beam, as they burst into flames within a hundred meters of the beam despite their heat resistance. The beam melts through the strongest Apokoliptan alloys before slamming into the geothermal tower. The tower falls and seconds later, there is an explosion of gas and lava. Any Parademon not killed by the heat and radiation of his Atomic Breath are soon buried alive under tons of lava and volcanic ash.

G-Man Gigas pauses and looks up into the cloudy sky as if noticing something. Then an Apokoliptan warship that was cloaked in orbit opens fire, The energy beams and projectiles detonate around G-Man causing explosions, but not damaging the artificial Titan. Even when some of the attacks do hit him, they only cause minor damage which regenerates at an absurd speed (it would be the equivalent of a humanoid healing bullet wounds between shots from an automatic.). He isn't seriously harmed.

Instead Gigas gets angry, and his body begins to heat up. His body soon glows a fiery red and radiates so much heat that the lava around him boils away. G-Man Gigas then releases a monstrous spiraling red beam from its mouth. A beam that pierces the atmosphere into the depths of space, pierces the shields of the Apokoliptan warship, and then pierces the warship itself. The enhanced nuclear fire spreads through the ship, vaporizing everything in its path as the ship heats up and deforms. Then the entire warship explodes so violently, the flash can be seen like a second sun in the northern hemisphere.

For generations the people of Toho will tell the stories of their divine hero – Godzilla Gigas.

On some world conquered by Darkseid, Hope and Freedom can only be considered a Fantasy. Now, Heroes have come to show the people that they can hope for a future, that freedom is something people deserve, and the that the forces of Apokolips should fear Fantasies.

Parademons and soldiers of Apokolips are sent flying by the attacks of Pro-Heroes.

Cloud Strife swings his massive Buster Sword like it's made of Styrofoam, but the metal blades easily slice through his opponents and those cuts are by the massive blade are sent flying by the weight alone. The sword weighs over a hundred pounds and at the speed Cloud swings it, bones shatter to powder. After many years, he no longer suffers from Mako poisoning that robbed him of his memories or the Jenova cells that controlled him under Sephiroth's order. He is himself and he is a Hero.

Tifa Lockheart delivers bone-shattering punches to her opponents with her upgraded Premium Heart gauntlets. On her home world of Gaea, she fought to save the world from oppression and ecological damage of Shinra Company. In this universe, she fights to save all worlds under the banner of Cognito. One large gorilla-like soldier attempts to jump her, but she easily dodges before she delivers an uppercut. If the soldier remained conscious, he would have reported he saw a space dolphin's ghost.

Vincent Valentine darts around the battlefield shooting the soldiers and monstrous creations of Darkseid, tho he understands monsters more than humans. Many years ago, he was a Turk - the unofficial name of the Investigation Sector of the General Affairs Department of Shinra, who were basically Shinra's mercenary dogs. He was shot by the mad scientist Hojo and experimented on, transforming him into various monstrous forms. He then helped Cloud save the world and become something he never expected – a hero.

Sephiroth is a monster on the battlefield, slicing through entire tanks and buildings with his absurdly long sword Masamune. He was a super soldier of Shinra, the most powerful SOLDIER who defeated the Wutai nation. He suffered many losses due to the human experiments of Shinra, including his best friends Angeal Hewley and Genesis Rhapsodos, before learning he himself was an experiment by his "father" Dr. Hojo. Under immense amounts of stress and the effect of extraterrestrial Jenova cells, he lost his mind and became a world-threatening villain. Thankfully, his beating by Ash Grey not only destroyed his Jenova cells but allowed Cognito to transform him into a more stable and saner person.

Soldiers cry out in fear before they are crushed by falling debris, while Sephiroth stares down at them like insects. Cognito didn't reduce Sephiroth's lethality on the battlefield.

Sora, Kairi, and Riku armed with their Keyblades can unlock any lock or door. After years of training by Cognito, they can release magical shockwaves that remove the collars of slaves and open the doors. They fought against numerous horrors including Heartless, Nobodies, and Unversed, saving the Realm of Light from the corrupted darkness and saving Kingdom Hearts. Now they fight to protect the happiness of others in a universe of Heroes and Villains.

Cognito isn't just sending their Heroes to rescue the civilians and take out the Apokoliptan forces. They have also sent their armies of robots, cyborgs, and techno-organics.

The latest incarnations of the Libertus robots soar across the sky firing fusion-level laser blasts that pass through the transparent shields of the military structures before creating explosions of plasma. As shields fail, anti-metal beams transform the Apokoliptan metal alloys into clouds of plasma, which also explodes when exposed to oxygen in the air. The concrete structures explode or collapse as the supports detonate. Mobile weapons and vehicles violently explode as their metal components become clouds of ionized particles and gas. Any armored soldier dies as the metal armor meant to protect them detonates like high explosions.

Cog Beetles unleash their own energy beams that tear through enemy soldiers, both Apokoliptan and collaborators. These people were transformed into Reach Scarab Warriors by the villain Brainiac but were freed by Cognito. Many of them, now possessing heavily armed techno-organic bodies, decided to join Cognito and fight against extraterrestrial threats to Earth and its allies. Some of them were excited to fight against the literal God of Tyranny's forces.

Numerous military planes and ground vehicles open fire on the Apokoliptan soldiers before transforming, revealing themselves to be robots in disguise. The Combaticons are a new generation of heavy combat Cybertronians. While they do share the name with a unit of fierce Decepticon soldiers, that operated with (mostly) military precision, they fight for ideals of Cognito. Unlike the Autobots, the Cog Combaticons don't follow the orders of Optimus Prime, but the orders of Cognatus Prime and Tsarina Prime (also known as Pip Genus and Sari Sumdac).

The Cognito Combaticons also share one more trait with the Decepticon team.

"Combine!"

The forces of Apokolips (and some allies) can only watch in shock and disbelief at the transformation. The Combaticons transform back into their military vehicle forms, before transforming further and combining into a giant gestalt robot. After the transformation, the Apokoliptan weapon attacks go from causing very little damage to doing absolutely no damage as its energy shields are exponentially strengthened.

A bunch of Parademons attempt to attack the new giant foe, but the Combiner swats them like insects. There corpses splatter across the battlefield but the combiner barely notices.

After confirming the base has been cleared of civilians/slaves and no allies are in its target path, [Conquestor] charges up its fist and every remaining alarm on the base goes off as they detect the distortion in gravity and high levels of energy. As the giant gestalt robot pulls back its fist, it's surrounded by rippling darkness and giant arcs of electricity surpass any lightning in this planet's history. As the punch is thrown, there is a monstrous shockwave that instantly shatters what remains of the base like a nuclear blast. It also shatters the mountain that was behind the base into rubble and creates a firestorm.

"Isn't this a little overkill?" asks one Cognito soldier, turning to look at his comrade.

"When it comes to comic book levels of BS, it's better to overkill than have an enemy survive and come back again."

"You read too many comic books."

"I live too many comics books!"

" . . . Alright, I'll admit, that's perfectly valid," the first Cognito soldier replies.

Around the World, Pro-Heroes are saving people from superpowered criminals and disasters. It doesn't matter if the criminals are rampaging metahumans, cyborg mercenaries, out of control robots, or extraterrestrial invaders, Heroes of all kinds work together to protect people.

On the surface of the Moon, Cognito scientists monitor activities on Earth and in other places. They send out people, including Pro-Heroes, to places where they are needed. One scientist turns to the camera and the name tag says, "Dr. A. Armstrong.". With a smile he speaks with confidence.

"We are Solutions."

In the United States, a group of Pro-Heroes wearing power armor are helping rescue people from a collapsed building. They include both the Invincible Iron Man in his custom self-built armor and NEXT hero Wild Tiger in his power-enhancing suit. As Wild Tiger lifts a mountain of debris and, Iron Man carries a scared child to her parents and medics, Tony Stark's face appears in a video window.

"We are Hope."

In the cold North of Russia, a group of Pro-Heroes take down a group of Villains. While the Villains dressed in armored black suits and most of the Pro-Heroes are masked, one Hero shows his face. He's a very tall, very muscular man with metallic silver eyes (lacking visible pupil, iris, or sclera), polished metallic skin, and short black hair. The metal man is extremely strong, easily overpowering his remaining armored opponents. A small video window pops open and the man speaks to the Camera in Russian, which is translated.

"We are Justice."

In what was once China, a group of Pro-Heroes looking like they jumped out a martial arts film take down a group of slavers. Despite using martial arts and weapons like staffs and swords, they can defeat the criminals armed with modern weaponry. One man with a white robe and long black hair, even slices a gun clean in half with his faintly glowing sword creating turquoise sparks in the air. As, the captured women and children are freed and transported to safety, a video window opens, and the swordsman speaks to the camera in Chinese.

"We are Freedom."

In India, a young boy with gold eyes, dark skin, and black hair faces a monstrous creature that resembles a humanoid tiger with extra fangs and claws. The Rakshasa attempts to tear the boy apart, but he blocks with glowing golden shields that are clearly magic. The boy attempts to bind the Rakshasa with glowing chains, but it breaks free and lunges at the boy. The boy is saved when a version of Spider-Man pulls it back with a web line and webs it to the ground. This gives the boy time to finish a spell that banishes the Rakshasa. The video is the boy standing next to Spider-Man and they both speak in Hindi.

"We are Heroes."

In the United Kingdom, British Heroes – Shining Knight, Knight, and Squire – stand surrounded by dead Parademons and an unconscious Agent of Apokolips. They are joined by Scrab Knight (a Beetle that became a British Pro-Hero) who is helping a green-skinned extraterrestrial maiden whose looking at him with adoration. She looks like she came from the cover of a fantasy novel – a Princess being saved by a Knight – but reimagined for a science fiction novel.

The video clip shows Shining Knight whose Olde British accent is very pronounced. Shining Knight also known as Sir Justin is a 6th Century English Knight of the Round Table and a member of King Arthur's Court. His accent is old, but his words are clear.

"And We will Win!"

Back on the Moon, the Cognito scientist proclaims-

"With the Heroes we Solve the Problems of the World."

Around the world, the hidden Agents of Apokolips face Pro-Heroes in every country. Heroes given intel, equipment, and support from Cognito.

In United Korea, what was once the countries of North and South Korea and North and South Rhelesia, a giant killer robot rises from the bay, only to encounter Atom and The Engineers. With its core of Fatherboxes, the Apokoliptan war machine can't surpass the minds of the Heroes. The tower mass of metal that could have reduced Seoul to rubble in an instant, melts into a mass of silver liquid. The Apokoliptan nanomachines soon bend to the will of two earth-borne technological goddesses instead of an Alien Dark God.

In Vlatava, the Pro-Hero Team are called the Knights of Vlatava. The Knights are all clad in Cognito power-boosting armor with their colors reflecting their powers. The Red Knight is a swordsman that can manipulate heat and flames, while the Blue Knight is a spearman that manipulates water. The Black Knight is an axe/rifle user who can absorb attacks to fuel his own. The Yellow Knight is a speedster and dagger user, which makes her possibly the most dangerous. The Pink Knight is the oddest one as her bow can cause psychic attacks. They stopped an attempted assassination of Queen Perdita, smashing the mind-controlled metahumans into the ground. The effects of Pink's Eros arrows on the Apokoliptan Agent caused her teammates to blush scarlet under their helmets.

In 1,800 BCE, Lord of Chaos - Klarion, working on behalf of Marduk (Vandal Savage), summoned an extraterrestrial creature known as Starro to Babylonia. The goal was to harness the creature's mind-control abilities to exert complete control over the Babylonian army. But in his hubris, Marduk underestimated the unwieldiness of the alien and soon found himself fighting against his mentally enslaved troops. He barely won against the creature with his son Nabu dying in the process.

Vandal has faced other Starro creatures, but never faced the original.

Billions of years ago, the mind-controlling intergalactic species of eusocial starfish were merely nomadic predators. They were beasts that enslaved races to build nests, so they could give birth to more Queens referred to as Mother Stars. Then, one Mother Star attempted to control a race that possessed species-wide telepathic link. This link allowed the humanoid species to be communicate and empathize with all other members, allowing them to reach the pinnacle of culture and stability. The meeting of these two races was disastrous for both them and the universe.

A native's mind absorbed his race's anger, pain, and trauma and was driven insane. That insane mind took control of the Starro race and became Starro, the Conqueror of Stars. As the entire starfish species was merely an extension of his will, he began to conqueror more and more worlds. The original body of the telepathic native has changed over the billions of years, a result of fusing with an immature Mother Star. He almost looks like a fantasy Viking with his armor including a horned starfish helmet.

His opponent is intergalactic bounty hunter Samus Aran. She is fighting the Aeon-old alien conqueror while wearing a Cog-Enhanced Chozo-built Power Suit. The suit is the most advanced and powerful suit she has ever possessed, and she needs every bit of power to fight the Star Conqueror. The red-eyed, blue-skinned humanoid can channel the collective psychic power of the Starro race, enhancing him to the point he could kill Samus if any of his attack manage to hit her. Even the waves of purple-white psionic energy could easily slice through her body if she failed to dodge even once.

Samus Aran has fought space pirates, shape-shifting parasites, bio-engineered monsters, and killer robots many times over. She fought parasite controlled cloned soldiers and killer robots when she invaded Starro's current base planet. She is glad Doctor Genus upgraded her suit's memory, so she doesn't lose her data/software, as there are no Chozo statues on this world.

"You believe you can stop me, huntress. You don't face a mere man. You face a Legion for we are many. My will has ruled since before your species existed and I will rule when your people are merely dust in the cosmic wind." yells Starro, his voice distorted.

Samus jumps into the air and fires a purple laser-like beam that hits the eye of the baby Mother Star fused to Starro's chest.

"Are you trying to break my link!? Fool! You may have freed a few minds, but my link is beyond your imagination." says Starro as he releases an aura of power that blasts Samus back.

"I wasn't weakening it."

"What?" says Starro, before he turns his attention inward and realizes his body is radiating more power than ever. "You strengthened my link!? What Madness...!?"

Samus released a purple beam, this one allowed to charge up with Starro's distraction. It blasts open a hole in Starro's psychic barrier and allows Samus in her Morph Ball mode to slip past the shield. Samus slams into Starro's chest like a cannonball, before falling to the ground and morphing back into her absurdly agile armored form. Starro roars and brings down his battle-axe crackling with psychic power, only for Samus's clawed hand to catch his arm and dig deep. Starro watches in shock as Samus transforms. She had an orange-and-white upper body combined with purple-and-white lower torso and limbs with huge shoulders and green illumination. Now, the armor is bio-organic green and pronounced dark red illumination.

This is the Dreaded Metroid Suit and Starro shall know Fear.

Starro cries out in pain as he feels his energy being ripped from his body, from all his bodies. Lightning arcs around them as energy is absorbed by the brightly glowing Samus. The psychic screams of the Starro the Conqueror can be heard by the sensitive on a million worlds. To some it's the sound of a dying god, to some it's the ringing of freedom's bell.

Samus releases the emaciated corpse of Starro's humanoid body from her claws, which disintegrates to dust and ash before it can hit the ground. Only the armor and battle axe hit the ground with a loud clank. Samus glowing like a red star then points her blaster to the sky and unleashes a massive red beam. The beam streaks into the sky, past the clouds, and hits the Mother Star body of Starro in orbit. It strikes the hundred-meter-wide eye and pierces completely through. Seconds later, red light ripples through the colossal creature's body before it's consumed by violent explosions.

In the depths of space, all other Mother Stars enslaved and linked to Starro cry out then die. All the Star Conqueror starfish linked to the mother die from psychic overload. On a billion worlds, minds are freed as their enslavers die. A percentage of them die from shock after separation, but they die free. Even samples of Starro in the labs of the League and the Light react violently to Starro's demise, bursting test tubes and destroying slides if not frozen solid.

On the dying planet, Samus calls for Cognito's portals.

"You have a tendency to blow up planets." says Doctor Genus over the coms.

"I tend to run into galaxy-spanning threats." says Samus, as she enters the portal.

Seconds later, the planet glows red in space as magma erupts from the cracking crust.

Seconds after that, the planet violently explodes into what will become an asteroid field.

"I have to admit your plan is excellent." says Metron, "When you remade the Universe to protect it against external forces and Crisis events, you also set up rules to give you advantage in future conflicts. Negating the extremism of the emotional spectrum and forcing cooperation between the elemental planes. You altered the Source Wall to eliminate threats instead of merely containing them and made it so you could shut down my technology."

"I will admit that your technology was the biggest threat in the conflict. The Fatherboxes and Motherboxes are some of the most advantage computers in existence and have a vast array of utilities and the Boomtubes allow the transportation of soldiers, weapons, and supplies across vast distances. The New Gods have become so reliant on the technology, that space spanning Apokolip's forces are crippled without them."

Metron notices something on his monitors. "I thought the avatars of the elements stayed out of mortal affairs outside the protection of their own element?"

"Cognito Inc has always strived to protect and support the environments of the worlds. This has earned us the support of the elemental planes and allowed us to recruit the majority of metahumans connected to those planes." says Doctor Genus offering Metron a new cup of Cog coffee, which he accepts, "The rules have them work together against threats to environment and you can't call Darkseid's rule Eco-Friendly."

Darkseid's conquest is environmentally hazardous to many worlds. The Fire Pits of Apokolip are massive apertures that dot the entire planet. They are thermal exhaust ports that belched giant plumes of flame and smoke, which has rendered the Ecumenopolis lifeless beyond New Gods and slaves. The Dark Gods tend to destroy the environments of conquered worlds to create massive factories to produce more soldiers, weapons, and gear for their future conquests.

"In one universe, Darkseid succeeded in conquering Earth and used machines to steal the molten core of the planet. Swamp Thing, the greater elemental of the Green, who despises humans, was summoned by John Constantine. The second Swampy realized the Green was threatened by Darkseid's machine, he began ripping it apart. Even the Paradooms – nerfed hybrids of Doomsday and Parademons – didn't stand a chance of stopping him from bringing down a tower."

Cue Seven Deadly Sins OST - Perfect Time

To say that the elemental planes dislike Darkseid is like saying that Earth's home star is warm. The elemental planes have been waiting for Doctor Genus and Cognito to begin the War and now they are unleashing their fury on the dark forces. Dark forces who are unprepared for the very worlds around attempting to kill them.

The colossal bases of Darkseid's invasion shake and collapse due to massive Earthquakes. These quakes are not fault lines between tectonic plates, but the rage of the world itself against the parasites. The massive fissures in the Earth unleash boiling magma from the depths of earth and soon lava and volcanic ash cover the area. Dark clouds above unleash torrential rain and hurricane force winds on Apokoliptans and their conspirators. The oceans rise and flood the land with massive tsunami-like waters.

The Green unleashes its rage empowering victims of tyranny. Soon, Parademons are entangled and crushed by the branches and roots of trees. Apokoliptan agents are pierced by dagger-like thorns or poisoned by clouds of toxic pollen and vine secretions. Some of Darkseid's forces get extremely gruesome deaths as plants grow within their bodies until they literally burst apart and become fertilizer for more plants.

The Red roars on a thousand worlds. The slavers are surprised when many of their prisoners break free of their restraints and transform into animals and animal hybrids. They stopped being shocked when fangs and claws ripped them apart. Animals of all kinds on every planet begin to attack the invaders, ignoring all other instincts to destroy the threat to their worlds. Canines and feline creatures sink their fangs and claws into the flesh of the living enemies, while the more massive land animals attack - elephants, rhinos, and hippos. Some Dark New Gods die horrific deaths are they are swarmed by a countless number of insects that burrow through them and devour them alive.

The Clear's power is unleashed on every world possessing water, especially on all those that possess life. Water manipulators with streams that could slice stone and steel, slice soldiers apart. Ice manipulators free the water in the cells of their enemies before shattering the new ice statues. Blood manipulators are the cruelest to slavers, turning soldiers into puppets to attack their comrades before causing them to burst like balloons. The oceans themselves flood the land in massive waves, allowing all the creatures of the sea to attack the alien invaders. The rare sea and amphibious ships are pulled into vortexes and violently crushed with all the crew aboard.

The Meld's roar is the rumble of massive Earthquakes. The quakes surpassing the Richter Scale 9.5 of Earth cause structures to collapse. Massive fissures either split buildings or send them falling in their depths with thousands of vehicles. Earth manipulators impale enemies on stone spikes, smash them into paste with giant boulders, and create sandstorms that grind armor from bodies and flesh from bone. Some even create massive earthen golems that pick up their war machines and smash them into other war machines causing huge explosions.

The White's roar is the howling of the storm. Hurricanes and tornadoes form, as the atmosphere of planets turns against the invaders. Even the floating warships with their advance anti-gravity are tossed around like children's toys until they smash in something solid and explode. Wind manipulators generate wind so strong that even heavily armored soldiers are smashed into paste when they hit mountains. Air manipulators also create metal-slicing blades of wind and vacuum, smash enemies with hammers of air pressure, and cause enemies to burst by injecting them with compressed gas.

The Burn's roar is the roar of a Firestorm. Apokoliptan firepits set up on other worlds detonate. The beings that once tended to the fire pits are incinerated as the atmosphere burns. There are millions of volcanic eruptions on numerous worlds and the White uses the abrasive volcanic ash to grind enemies. The pyroclastic flows instantly kill the lucky and unlucky slowly suffocate or burn to death. The Fire manipulators do what they do – they burn. They melt everything that belongs to invaders and what doesn't burn is buried by the remains of what does. Enemy soldiers are incinerated, even their bones reduced to bone ash. To an observer, it looks like a scene out of Dante's 6th Circle of Hell with people trapped in flaming tombs, but instead of Heretics it's Darkseid's fanatics that burn.

The Gray is more insidious and subtle than its siblings. Its attack is clouds, both visible and invisible, or spores. These spores bypass the defenses of the invading armies and induce hallucinations, causing the soldiers to turn on each other. Those that survive the toxin-induced bloodbath don't survive long as the toxins rot their flesh until they die, bursting apart to release more spore clouds. Gray metahumans are shapeshifters like Oozes from Dungeons and Dragons, capable of absorbing and consuming their enemies. Some especially cruel avatars pump their fungal slime into their victims until they burst.

The Black devours. Any world that has been rendered near lifeless by Apokoliptan forces, is euthanized. In each case, a supernatural darkness washes over the entire planet before everything begins to decay. Mountains crumble to broken stone, organic matter collapses to dust, and metal corrodes to powder. The former cities of the inhabitants collapse into expanding dust clouds and roads implode into the Earth. The war machines of Apokolips crumble into fragments, aging a million years in a millionth of a second, the pilots also decaying to dust. The New God commander of one world barely has time to pray to Darkseid before his body is petrified and shattered to powder, his soul also decayed by the effect.

The Metal manipulates. The youngest of the elemental planes, the plane of artificial intelligence and the cyber-verse, doesn't affect the physical world like it's kindred. Instead without the Fatherboxes and Motherboxes interfering with their actions, the warriors of the Metal infiltrate the technology of Apokolips. Soon war machines open fire on their own forces and starships fire upon each other or slam into each other at relativistic speeds. Enemy communications collapse, slaves and prisoners are freed, and rebellions receive information. Some Cyber-Heroes even teleport into enemy bases and ships using electronics. They tear though the ship before escaping the destruction around them, taking any slave or prisoner with them.

"It's an interesting blend." Metron replies, and Doctor Genus isn't sure he's talking about the coffee or the events.

*Doom*

"Dammit!" says a villain looking down at his non-functional fatherbox.

He's a tall man with wide shoulders, dark eyes, and black hair. He has the same facial features as a member of Superman's family. He's dressed in a black body suit with white bands around his boot rims, wrists, and upper arms. His upper chest is white with the S-like crest of the Kryptonian House of El in Black.

"Hello, Lasher." says the speedster Impulse behind him.

In another timeline, Darkseid mind-controlled Superman making the man of steel believe he was the son of Darkseid. He even sent Superman to invade Earth, but fortunately he broke the mind control, even if the people's trust in him was ruined. While he was mind controlled, he has a relationship with one of Darkseid's female warriors - the Furies. Lashina secretly gave birth to a son who after the death and/or disappearance of Darkseid became the new ruler of Apokolips. Eventually, the Kryptonian/New God hybrid came to Earth and came in conflict with the Justice League of that Era, including the new Era's Batman – Terry McGinnis.

A bad combination of Boom Tube and the Phantom Zone projector resulted in Lasher ending up in the future of the Earth-DR1 Universe. After learning what happened in the past of this universe (the present), he travelled back in time to change the past. He originally planned on eliminating Ash before his creation at Cadmus Beta and Rorschach before he left Hub City but was stopped by the Heroes of the Future.

"Impulse."

"The box won't work until after the Darkseid War. That is how History records it."

"I'm here to change history." says Lasher, also known as Uxas-El of Apokolips, as his eyes glow a menacing red.

"You are History." equips the future Flash as he dodges the red laser-like beam of heat vision.

Impulse moves as lightning crackles around him, the world around him slowing to a crawl. Even the son of Superman who is fast enough to catch bullets is moving slower than the laziest tai chi master. He dodges the heat beams which are moving at angles like Darkseid's Omega beams, before delivering high speed punches to Lasher. Normally, a speedster's hands would shatter against a Kryptonian's near-invulnerable skin. Bart is far from normal, his fists vibrating fast enough to get through solid matter, even the hyper-dense flesh of a Kryptonian/New God hybrid. Lasher's eyes widen in surprise and pain, as Bart's fists bypass his invulnerability and deliver shockwaves to his organs.

Impulse looks surprised when a whip appears around his leg and Lasher begins to spin him around, planning on smashing them into the ground hard enough to pulverize the hero. Uxas-El's eyes then widen when Bart escapes the hold the energy whip and performs massively hypersonic acrobatics.

"How!?" yells Lasher, not understanding how Impulse could escape the grip of psychokinetic energy whips. It's something that has never happened.

"I've trained with Cog Pro-Heroes including Backlash's daughter on the Gen13 Team. You're not the only person with psionic whips." replies Impulse, whispering. "..."

"What?"

Impulse then generates an extremely loud thunderous sound with his speed. The world implodes for Lasher as his Kryptonian hearing is overloaded. He's then hit by ten thousand punches moving faster than the fastest bullets. These phantom punches create shockwaves in the hybrid's flesh, causing immense pain and involuntary movements.

Lasher howling in pain mindlessly swings at Impulse, but Impulse catches the arm and performs a perfect martial art throw out of Aikido. Impulse then moves even faster, striking the airborne hybrid while he's unable to tether himself to the ground with his tactical telekinesis (which is how Kryptonians can lift absurdly heavy objects without sinking into the ground). Lasher is ping-ponged by afterimages of Impulse. As Lasher tumbles to the ground, he turns to see Impulse casually standing near him as if to mock him.

"You ready to surrender?"

"Surrender!? A King doesn't surrender!"

Lasher unleashes the full power of his enhanced heat vision. The red beams are so intense the air distorts from the heat and the ground beneath them melts. Impulse dodges them, but the beams change direction to hit their target. Impulse continues to dodge before he charges Lasher and jumps through him using his speed force intangibility. The tracking heat beams smash into Lasher's chest and explode.

Bart Allan, grandson of Barry Allen the Flash, taps fully into the power of the Speed Force and grabs Lasher. He then runs faster and faster, beyond any speed recorded on the world and into the depths of the Speed Force itself.

Lasher finds himself in a white void with lightning crackling around him. Even with his superhuman vision he can only see fog and lightning for an incalculable distance. He does see phantom images of other speedsters – the old speedster Cobalt Blue, the original Flash - Jay Garrick, the Flash - Barry Allan, Kid Flash - Wally West, Jenny Quick, XS - Jenni Ognats, and even speedsters from the distant future.

"King? You may be a tyrant on your world, but here in the Speed Force I Am God!"

It happens in an instant. Lasher is overwhelmed, rendered unconscious, and then thrown out of the Speed Force covered in lightning. He's no longer in the 21st century as the world outside the windows is far more advanced even with the contributions of Cognito and extraterrestrial technology. Doctor Genus emerges from the shadows dressed in the latest incarnation of his outfit.

"Doc?" says Impulse, also emerging from the Speed Force.

"The timeline is secure, Bart. You managed to prevent him from making any major changes."

"Only because you were able to force him onto that isolated world, Doc." says Impulse, "What are you going to do with him?"

"I think I'll send him ahead with Fox, the Dynasty can handle him."

"At least this was easier than the other guy."

"What other guy?"

"Hah! I see what you did there~"

*DOOM*

"Where am I!? Whoever you are I'll kill you all Dead!" screams a very emotional and unstable person.

This person from Earth-Prime of a DC Multiverse looks frantically at the void around him. He was born Kal-El of Earth-Prime, a world in which DC comics exist as works of fiction. He was teleported to Earth, discovered by a kind family, and grew up as a normal teen occasionally teased for being named Clark Kent. Then a being known as the Anti-Monitor attempted to erase the multiverse using anti-matter. He fought to save the multiverse with heroes out of his comic books but lost everything. He spent years in a "paradise dimension" observing the New Universe and became a jaded reflection of Superman. He finally had a psychotic break and attempted to create/find a better world by killing the people and worlds he disliked.

Superboy-Prime finally sees where he is as the fog clears.

Darkness Over Heaven: Obsidian Black sits on his throne, not moving a nanometer.

"Who are you!?"

Obsidian doesn't react.

"Answer me or I'll Destroy You!"

Obsidian doesn't move.

"DIE!"

Superboy-Prime's reality-breaking fist collides with a barrier before it can strike Obsidian. While the insane Kryptonian's fist can shatter planets, the invisible barrier doesn't even ripple. Instead, all energy is absorbed to the point where there is no sound. Superboy-Prime pulls back his hand and grips it with shock, the supposedly invulnerable flesh is decayed enough that the bones are exposed.

Obsidian doesn't answer insects.

Superboy-Prime's body glows pink-purple and he cries out in fear.

"You can't do this! I'm supposed to become Superman!"

Superboy-Prime's body dissolves into vanishing particles of light, erased from existence – physically, mentally, spiritually, and conceptually.

If someone could hear and comprehend the mind of a God of Destruction, they would know that he was relieved that the annoying buzzing of a mere fly was gone.

Across the universe, worlds are breaking.

A group of alien soldiers and mercenaries are panicking. These soldiers and mercenaries work for the dark world of Apokolips and have been secretly monitoring activity in the Vega System. The dark world once had relationships with the cruel Psions and the Citadel, with hopes of turning them into an extension of Darkseid's will. They were around when Tamaran fell and thought it was good news, not knowing it would lead to their doom.

Princess Komand'r of Tamaran, the Traitor of Tamaran, became the Liberator of Vega. The bio-weaponry of Cognito decimated Citadel's clone armies and male Psion population, allowing various worlds to break free of their tyranny. Anybody that willingly supported them became an enemy of the system.

Boom!

The heavy metal door of the base entrance explodes inward as Blackfire punches it. She slowly walks forward like the movements of a predator, reminding many mercenaries of a large cat. They are being hunted and many of the battle hardened are shaking with fear.

One large mercenary standing over three meters in height with green skin, tusks, pointed ears, and horns charges at her. The extraterrestrial Troll's instincts are screaming at him, telling him to either escape or eliminate the threat before it kills him. He swings his weapon – a futuristic battle-axe with a high frequency edge – with enough force that a normal human in body armor would be sliced in half by a normal battle-axe. Blackfire casually avoids the attack and delivers a casual punch. A punch that shatters the troll's skull and sends his corpse flying, one of the broken fangs sliding next to a comrade.

"This is going to be a short fight." she says with a grin. The tiger is ready to pounce.

The mercenaries and soldiers of Apokolips opened fire with guns. Solid metal projectiles moving at high velocity, laser beams, and magnetically contained plasma shoot from a thousand barrels. The barrage is stopped by an energy barrier that barely ripples from the attack. Normally, the Apokoliptan commander would use his Fatherbox to determine the frequency of the enemy shields, but it like all other fatherboxes in the universe is offline.

"I should correct myself." says Blackfire, her eyes glowing with purple fire, "This will be a short massacre."

Blackfire unleashes her Blackbolts. The blasts of purple-white ultraviolet plasma have been enhanced by training and research over the years. Her skill has improved to the point she fires them at the speed of a machine gun. Each of these plasma bolts is so hot and forceful it pierces the body of its target. Only those with the most durable armor are sent flying back instead of ending up with smoking holes.

Blackfire flies at high speed, creating a shockwave and smashes into one of the survivors and carries him through several walls, finally stopping at a very thick wall. When she jumps back, the armored soldier vomits blue blood as his organs are in bad shape from the impacts. She looks at the wall she collided with and reads the alien lettering – Reactor Shield Wall.

Blackfire gathers her plasma energy creating a very large sphere above her hand. She then compresses the basketball-size orb into a marble-size orb, making it shine like a star and bathing the chamber in a purple light. The dying soldier on the ground cries out as the radiant heat from the tiny star begins to burn his flesh.

The remaining mercenaries and soldiers begin to panic when they see her technique. She fires the compressed Blackbolt which she calls "Dark Nova" and it pierces the reactor wall.

Seconds later, the base is flooded by plasma from the reactor, which incinerates the soldiers and mercenaries. The expanding ionized gas reacting with the air causes a chain reaction of violently explosions, before the entire base explodes into tiny fragments.

Blackfire casually walks out of the inferno, not a plasma-conductive hair on her head harmed and her Cognito costume looking spotless. She is about to call for the portal, when she notices something. She bends down and picks up a piece of broken metal. She tests the weight then tosses it with such force it breaks the sound barrier.

The Apokoliptan Agent hidden on a nearby hill, cloaking by the most advance New God stealth technology doesn't have time to react. The improvised metal projectile pierces his body and sends him flying off the hill. It happens so fast there is barely any blood on the hill from the impact.

Half a minute later, Blackfire's Party Gamer informs her that all the enemies have been eliminated.

*Doom*

Another World

Starfire is not having as easy a time as her sister. She is currently hiding behind a wall with numerous injuries, including missing an arm. She is also bleeding heavily as the continuous shots from a hundred blasters erode the wall.

Cognito Inc is known for their solutions, creating plans to eliminate any threat, but there is no such thing as a perfect plan. If Starfire's men had followed the plan to the letter, they would have been fine, but the emotional, chaotic humanoids got overconfident and made mistakes. Those mistakes got them ambushed and hot with enough firepower to overwhelm their Cog suits. As a result, those fools and their teammates are waking up in Operation: Phoenix resurrection chambers, while she is hearing Apokoliptan forces screaming for her death.

She wonders if she's in shock when she pulls out an injector from her inventory and stabs herself. The substance is the Ultimate corrosive poison of her husband Ash Grey transformed by Serket's Blessing into Panacea. If she was looking at her Party Gamer screen, she would see her slowly declining HP suddenly shoot back to full. All her injuries regenerate, with the most dramatic being her severed arm, reappearing in a burst of golden light and steam.

Starfire then gathers plasma between her two hands and compresses it into a brilliant shining orb. She then fires the orb into the air, where it explodes releasing a blinding light that makes the soldiers scream in pain.

"Come, SABER!"

Spacetime warps at Starfire's call as the magical command seal glows. Her Servant Saber-Adam obeys the call of her mistress, shattering reality to accomplish it and appearing on the battlefield. Saber Adam draws his sword and becomes a red/black blur, her magical blade slicing through the heat-resistant armor of the soldiers. Saber-Adam is efficient as one slash means one or more enemy deaths and she moves faster than the soldiers can target.

The remaining soldiers are then sent flying by Starfire's explosive Starbolts. While their armor protects them from high heat and disperses plasma, the shockwaves from explosion pass through their bodies. Some merely fall to the ground in extreme pain, but others die from the damage to their organs. There are no survivors because until Artoria Pendragon, Saber-Adam doesn't have a sense of chivalry and executes the injured soldiers. Years ago, Starfire would have protested the war crime, but Ash and Cognito have been a bad influence on the Heroine.

Starfire notices the skies lightening and her eyes widen, before she has Saber-Adam generate barriers. The clouds part as a brilliant particle beam pierces the heavens and strikes the Earth. The explosion of the beam strike is like the explosion of a thermonuclear bomb. The intensity of the beam is immense, and the heat is enough to vaporize the metals of the enemy base. The shockwave shatters buildings into clouds of dust. The soldiers, living and dead, are all completely incinerated.

*Doom*

In orbit around the planet, a few minutes ago, a huge Apokoliptan warship decloaked. The ship's captain was the one who decided to sacrifice the base to eliminate the Cognito forces.

"They are still alive!?" says The Captain of the planet killer ship Dread. He's tall humanoid male with artificial eyes resembling googles and a thick mustache. He's dressed in a black long coat and cap like a member of the Schutzstaffel only with Apokoliptan New God symbology instead Nazi symbology.

"Yes, Sir. Despite interference from ionization and radiation, there are two life readings at the blast site." says the science officer.

"Fire at full power. I want them dead."

"Sir, we haven't fully tested..." says the science officer before he's interrupted. That interruption is a blaster shot to the face by his mentally unstable commanding officer. The other officers are quick to comply with the commands.

"Diverting power to Main Cannon." says officer number one

"Reactor temperature is Stable." says number two.

"Weapon charge is at 15%...30%...45%…" says number three,

"Temperature rising! Safeties failing!" says number two.

"...60%...75%….90%...Full Power!" says number three.

"Fire!" says The Captain.

The spaceship's massive gun gathers particles of light before unleashing a monstrous particle beam towards the planet's surface. This beam is a planet-killing attack, one that would create a multi-teraton explosion. The clouds of raining debris would heat the atmosphere and burn the planet, wiping out everything in an extinction level event.

That is what is supposed to happen, but when the beam strikes the planet, nothing happens.

"What's happening!?" yells The Captain.

"Imploding fields. The energy of the beam is being absorbed, Sir." says number one.

"I'm getting a visual." says number two.

Saber-Adam stands where the planet killer beam should have impacted. Her hair is glowing like fire, like Starfire's hair releasing excess energy as fiery plasma. The red/white flames swirl around her as she holds her sword in its sheath. The sword is radiating energy pulse even while sheathed and then she slashes her sword with a single word.

A sword beam explodes from her blade and slices through the sky and passes through the warship and even hits the edge of the planet's moon in less than two seconds. There is a pause as glowing red light appears on both the ship and moon, then the ship's two halves are blown apart by an explosion. It's too much for the Apokoliptan ship and the two halves are consumed by bright explosions.

As for the moon, it merely has a small burning cut. The animal-eared natives would tell stories and legends about a legendary warrior who freed their world from tyranny with a sword that sliced the moon.

*Doom*

On another world, Darkseid's method of ruling is different. Instead of ten billion people being dominated by armies of Para-Demons, the planet is orbited by dark satellites. These satellites emit psionic signals forming a powerful psychic network. These satellites manipulate the planet's population, draining away all hope and anger from the people leaving behind empty husks. These satellites also transmit subconscious signals to obey Darkseid, ones that follow them into their nightmares. There is no rebellion because there is no hope of victory or salvation.

Salvation doesn't come in the form of a religious messiah or a legendary warrior. Instead, the planet's hope appears in the form of a bird-shaped silhouette of white light. As the light fades, Raven emerges onto the surface of the world. The half-demon sorceress turned goddess of love looks around at the native people barely reacting to her presence. The black metal spherical robots notice her immediately and begin to speak into electronic voices.

"Warning. Curfew is in effect. All residents must return home before..."

"Alert. Subject is not a resident of the city. Priority Alert. Subject is not a resident of this world."

"Combat Alert! Subject identified as Raven of Azarath. Ascended sorceress. S-Class Threat."

"System Alert! Cognito Forces have appeared on Planet LV456."

"Communications Down. Unable to Alert Apokolips Main Network."

"Unable to activate Boom Tube network."

"Alert! High-energy event in progress."

Raven, annoyed with the flying pests waves her hand and releases a wave of magic without a single chant. As the iridescent white light washes over the orbs, they short out releasing arcs of electricity before dropping to the ground releasing purple smoke, an extraterrestrial version of the blue smoke of electronic death. One of them manages to say a weak "Alert" before going offline for good.

Raven watches as brainwashed soldiers into the planet's military vehicles show up to attack her, but when they open fire on her she dissolves as if made of smoke. The real Raven appears in the air and with a cry releases a larger shockwave that washes over the war machines. The alien tanks and combat vehicles then dissolve into puddles of cold liquid metal. The weapons and even metal components of their uniforms also turn into liquified alloy as her self-crafted spell was based on Rorschach's anti-metal beams. Most of the soldiers look ready to continue fighting due to the brainwashing, while the rest are as emotionless as the civvies. Raven merely waves and the soldiers collapse unconscious to the ground.

"So, you're from Cognito." says the Apokoliptan Agent as he appears at the scene. He's a very tall, very wide, and heavy built humanoid with red eyes, dark skin, thick black hair, no eyebrows, and a thick beard for this thick jaw. He's dressed in the green and black clothing of a New God and holding a purple mace that crackles with purple lightning-like energy. "Your kind are Feared, but you will know Fear."

As he points at her with his mace, she is hit by a purplish-pink beam of energy that descends from the sky. The satellites in orbit are channeling the psychic energy of the enslaved population into one amplified attack. Even a powerful New God would perish under the power of the attack, there body instantly crushed by psychokinetically amplified gravity and their minds shattered in oblivion by the psychic assault. This is why the Agents laughs maniacally thinking he has already won.

His laughter is cut off by a purple light. He watches in shock and disbelief as Raven casually defends herself with a barrier. Since the awakening of her powers, Raven's mind has always been in battle with Trigon the Terrible, which forced her to build incredible psychic shields. Shields which only got stronger when Cognito learned to shield her and allow her to build them up. Her absorption of the Divine Core and Apotheosis made her psychic shields transcendent beyond mortal comprehension and Trigon's death allowed her barriers to finally grow to full strength. She is a match for her husband Ash in the mental realm of Indestructible.

She then sends a purple beam upwards overwhelming the psychic power of the ten billion enslaved and striking the satellite. The glow spread from satellite to satellite until Raven's power infects the entire network.

"What's happening!?" says the scared Agent, "How can you overcome the enslaved minds!? How can you do this, mortal!?"

"What's happening is I'm overriding your psychic network and undoing the brainwashing of the population. How? A mind that never breaks and never surrenders to despair is stronger than minds stripped of hope. As the violet lanterns say, love conquers all." says Raven, eyes glowing brightly, "Also, who said I was a mortal?"

The psychic satellites can no longer handle the overwhelming psychic power of the goddess. The first satellite struck by her counter is covered by immense arcs of electrical energy, before it swells and violently explodes. As the purple shockwave expands from detonation, other satellites join the first. Soon, there is a massive chain reaction as all the mind-controlling psychic network satellites explode. Around the world, there are aurora and firework-like explosions.

The Agent watches in total shock, nearly falling to knees.

"I also have a present for you, Agent Gero Gargas!" says Raven, the glow around her eyes developing menacing flames, "It's what you gave the people of this world. Azarath Metrion Zinthos!"

Apokoliptan Agent Gargas screams as the negative emotions of the planet's ten billion slaves, recorded by the psychic network, are channeled into his own small mind. The pain is unimaginable, and he doesn't even notice that his brain flash boils and his physical body's death by exploding head. His astral body boils away in psychic flames and his soul shatters is a scream that will be heard by the planet's psychics for years to come.

Raven watches as the headless corpse of the New God collapses to the ground and bursts into flames from the residual psychokinetic energies.

"This is Raven, I'm done on this world. Let's move on to the next one."

"The world is a dangerous place to live, not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it."

On another world, it's far worse than a world without hope. It's a world that did nothing to help when others were oppressed. When Darkseid's forces arrived, they only attacked one country with no strong allies. Nobody came to their rescue and the country was soon conquered. This repeated with the smaller, weaker countries being conquered and none of the stronger countries willing to help. Instead, they strengthened their defenses to protect themselves and, in the end, the entire world fell to tyranny of the New Gods. For centuries, the forces of Apokolips have ruled the world with an Iron Fist and slavery, oppression, and evil have become part of their culture. If a person from Earth saw this world, they would call it "the planet where the Space Nazis won."

Now doomsday has come to the world.

In World Government office, the President and his men were having an important meeting when the shadows in the room darkened. The doors and windows were blocked by thorny vines composed of darkness. Then a woman emerged from the darkness without making a single sound, her eyes glowing a menacing red. Two soldiers immediately opened fire on her, but the bullets passed through her as if she was a ghost, slamming into the walls of the chamber.

"Who are you?" says the President Tuba, a sharp-toothed weasel-like man with bright gold hair.

"Queen Jade of the Shadowlands and Agent of Cognito." says Jade, introducing herself.

The government agents stiffen at the name. Cognito Inc is the name of Apokolips' enemies based on a planet called Earth, an enemy possessing technology that rivals the New Gods and are aggressive enough to cause serious damage. Despite the advanced technology given to this world for their loyalty, they are no match for Cognito.

"Why are you here?"

"Cognito Inc has declared war on Apokolips and Darkseid." says Jade with a smile, showing her fangs, "Cognito has begun an invasion of all Apokoliptan controlled worlds. With communications, boom tubes, and father boxes disabled, we have already taken many of his worlds and yours in next on the list."

"Do you think we will submit easily!?" yells a General.

"You did submit, centuries ago. You hid behind your walls while the rest of the world fell, instead of helping, and then fell alone. You submitted to an evil god, destroying your own culture to appease him. Now his teachings are a part of your world, ingrained into your souls. You are all past saving."

"Do you think a single mortal woman can conquer our world alone!?" yells another politician.

"Two points. What made you think I was mortal woman and who said I was alone?"

At those words, the Shadowkahn arise from the shadows. It's not just in the President's secured chamber, as the armies of the shadowland appear around the world.

Military officials are assassinated by Ninja Kahn who appear out of their shadows. Their subordinates join them in death seconds later, not even able to draw their weapons. Those that do manage to pull their weapons barely due any damage against the supernatural enemies before they are killed.

The Razor Kahn moves with superhuman speed and agility, slicing through rank-and-file soldiers. They move so fast, the soldiers can't react to the dark blurs and cut to pieces. Political targets attempt to escape using vehicles only for the Razors to either chase them down or cling to the vehicles, before slaughtering the passengers.

Bat Kahn flies through the skies, enhanced by the power of their dark goddess. They move at high speeds, tearing though both skyscrapers and flying vehicles with ease. Even the alien fighter planes are torn to pieces when the winged shadow elementals collide with them. A small percentage of Bat Kahn, but the colony is so large it darkens the sky.

The massive muscular Sumo Kahn smash tanks, heavily artillery robots, and other large machines. Some of Sumo Kahn lift the massive war machines and toss them like children's toys. Jade had some of her Sumo Kahn train with the Incredible Hulk and then transferred the training to all her Sumo Kahn. Now millions of Sumo Kahn are smashing the land-based military might of a world into fiery bits. Even the planet's metahumans are dying as Sumo Kahn punches send shockwaves through their organs.

Samurai Kahn are the ones to face the most armored soldiers, the most durable metahumans, and the war robots with the thickest armor. The body armor of the soldiers could stop multiple rounds of an anti-material rifle and disperse attacks from directed energy weapons. The Brute-class metahumans are so durable they are considered invulnerable by the natives capable of withstanding a crashing airship or a city-destroying explosion. The war robots were designed to survive thermonuclear wars and this was before they were upgraded with Apokoliptan technology such as regenerative shields. The shadow blades of the Samurai Kahn thinner than atomic particles slice through them with ease. In some cases, it happens so fast that some don't realize they are dead, until they fall apart.

While Bat Kahn decimated the Airforce and the Sumo and Samurai decimated the Army and Marines, the Navy faced the combined might of the Squid and Crab Kahn. The Squid Kahn hunt down the submarines and underwater bases, tearing through them with their elastic bodies. Those men not crushed by the tentacles, either die when the machinery around them explodes or the ocean water flooding their lungs. Onboard the battleships the Crab Kahn tears through sailors. The massive pincers tear through metal doors and crush sailors into bloody paste. Some navy men get off shots, but the enhanced Crabs have exoskeletal armor that easily blocks the shots. When the ship's explosives are detonated, the ship is doomed – sinking to the bottom of the ocean.

The Mini Kahn infiltrated the offices of the intelligence agencies and secret police. They consume the shadows of the agents responsible for the brutal interrogation and murder of tens of thousands. As each shadow is consumed, the tiny pathetic-looking shadow elementals grow in both size and power. Soon, they are so large the buildings they infiltrated are destroyed by their sheer mass.

The insectile Mantis Kahn don't target people, they target structures and commit what would be considered war crimes. They attack roads to slow the movement of people and materials, they destroy lines of power, water, and communication, and they wipe out entire police stations. Thankfully the young children and infants have been secretly removed from the hospitals by Cognito, or the Mantis Kahn would have dessert in the maternity ward.

The Kijin Kahn – the divinely evolved Kunoichi Kahn - appear from Jade's darkness and walk towards the President's men. Their dark aura is so powerful and menacing that the politicians are collapsing to the ground overcome by fear and dread. Some of the older members are so stressed they die of headaches before the otherworldly warriors of darkness can even reach them.

Jade is surprised when one of the Generals turns out to be a metahuman who unleashes a torrent of flames at her and her Shadowkahn. He continues to release more and more fire, pushing all his fear and anger into his flames. The heat is so intense that parts of the room begin to ignite and soon even members of the President's staff are also dying from the flames. The flames suddenly stop as a howling wind blows and a cut appears in the wall behind the man. It's a huge cut that splits the entire wall and the metahuman General also splits in half. The source of the wind blade is an even more menacing summoned being, the shadow warrior born of the Demon King – Shadow Demise. As the flames clear, it's revealed that Jade and her Kijin Kahn are completely unharmed by the flames.

"Impressive. I would compare those flames to the Tengu Flames." says Jade, referring to the insanely hot flames generated by the bird-like Tengu yokai which can harm even those normally immune to fire. "I remember them actually hurting me, a century ago."

The President is losing bowel control.

The world is being consumed by a flood of darkness and he knows that if he's not killed by the sexy goddess of darkness in front of him, he'll suffer even worse at the hands of the God of Tyranny. He finally makes his descission, pulling out a pill from a hidden compartment, and swallowing it. The President of the World's body locks up as the pill takes effect. His skin turns a red purple with numerous swelling veins and steaming, before he withers into an emaciated cyan skinned corpse that collapses in his extra comfy chair.

"A suicide pill that prevents any form of resuscitation. As expected from a coward, but I still need information." says Jade, as she raises her palm, "Rise!"

Even death will not allow you to escape the wrath of Queen Jade.

Yet Another Apokoliptan Base.

Prisilla and Maxilla Grey (nee Kitaen) look at another one of Apokolip's bio-organic weapon experiments with disgust. They themselves are fusions of adaptive humans, powerful Kherabim, and what was Daemonite until Dragon King's death made that an impossibility. They woke up in a facility with the fake memories of the original Priss. As a result, they have nursed a disgust of these types of projects.

Super-pathogens ranging from mind-controlling bacteria to an ultra-virulent prion-generating virus designed to wipe out a planet's population. Natives of various worlds transformed into powerful monsters with even some of them resembling Ash's Doomsday form. There are even techno-organic prototypes for the next generation of Parademons. The space station is immense, holding tens of thousands of experimental subjects, but the security is surprisingly light. The scientists are weak-willed and easily controlled by Priss's psychic powers and Max has been using the few soldiers to test her bending skills.

"This war is getting one-sided." says Max, sounding a little cocky, as another soldier collapses to the ground, "I thought Apokolips was supposed to be a big threat?"

"Don't get arrogant, Max. The only reason we are not ending up like the League did in Apokolips War is because of Doctor Genus's superior intellect and Cog's superior technology. Members of the Justice League and low-level Cog Agents are already dead!"

"Didn't the Doc set up things so they re-spawn?"

"Operation: Phoenix saved them, but dying still hurts and not all of them are going to be resurrected."

"Doc didn't force them all to buy insurance?"

"Some minor League members were stubborn and one of them said it clashed with religious beliefs."

They open a door and walk into a chamber to find an immense chamber filled with hundreds of parademons and the base commander. The commander is tall, lean man with red eyes, pale skin, and short black hair. With his pointed ears and fangs, he looks like a vampire.

"Surrender females and we may show mercy, defy us and-"

The base commander doesn't have a chance to react as Priss pulls a gun and shoots him. He looks down in shock at the burning hole in his chest, which goes all the way through him. The shot even damaged the wall behind him. Priss fires a second shot that goes through the commander's head, finishing him off. The Parademons don't react at first as they also seem surprised by the sudden cutoff.

"I hate villain monologues." says Max, "Do you think Ash is a bad influence on us? We always go straight for the kill."

"This is war, but I'm worried about one thing." says Priss, looking relaxed despite the Parademons looking agitated and ready to attack them.

"What?" asks a confused Max.

"The base's self-destruct." replies Priss, "I believe it was triggered by the commander's death."

The entire base explodes with the force of hundreds of Teratons of TNT.

Back on the Moon, Priss and Max emerge from the cloning machines with new bodies. They clear the liquid from their lungs and small robots clean their nude bodies of the bio-fluid.

"You'd think a telepath would be better at communication." comments Max.

"At least we won't have to go through three hours of decontamination." quips Priss.

Max glares at her sister for the lame joke.

"Here," one of the Project Phoenix techs says in a tone that says he's seen this sort of thing happen too-many times to really care anymore as he hands them tablets with an article labeled- "How to Tell Your Loved One You Died and Were Resurrected." "Please, do come again," the tech says sarcastically as he walks off without a second glance at their naked bodies.

"I think I'd prefer the decontamination," Max deadpans as the tablet releases energy binders that'll only let them go once, they've actually read the articles all the way through.

Cyanea of Atlantis while a powerful magical Priestess doesn't have the combat experience to join in the War unlike the Ash Grey's wives, so she was left on Earth. She's currently talking to archeologists, comparing the Atlantis of this world to the Atlantis of her former home world.

"Two different celestial objects make all the difference." says the Archeologist Archeus, "In our world it was a radioactive meteorite that fell 50,000 years ago in what would become Western Mongolia. It awoke the meta-genes of caveman Vandar Adg and 38,000 years later, as Vandar Adg he gathered his gifted offspring and descendants to form the settlement of Atlantis. After the sinking of Atlantean continent centuries later, Atlantis rose to dominate the world's oceans."

"On my world, it was a fragment of a comet called the Heart of the Atlantis. In 100,000 BC, it was found, and the crystal found inside became the basis for our culture, civilization, and empire. According to what Milo and Kida told me, the Atlantean king, Kashekim Nedakh, sought to use the Heart of Atlantis itself as a weapon of war. But when the Atlanteans attempted to harness its power, an accidental discharge caused a Great Flood that threatened to consume the entire island."

"It's amazing. You were around before the sinking of your Atlantis and were asleep until the modern era. It that had happened in our world, we would have had a source of accurate ancient knowledge." says Archeus.

"In my former world, Kida and the Atlanteans have been around for thousands of years due to time warping BS, but even by their standards I'm ancient." says Cyanea, a distant look in her eyes, "If it wasn't for Ash and Cog, I wouldn't be handling the culture shock well."

"Professor!" yells one Archeus' interns running in (the Museum is dry land to protect the artifacts), "Cognito Robots just uncovered something you have to see."

Minutes later.

"The item was found in the Undersea, so we immediately sent it to you."

The Undersea is a pocket ocean underneath Xebel's seafloor, containing the ruins of ancient Atlantis's capital. It is riddled with erupting thermal vents, and gigantic sea monsters. The former is a problem even with Cognito's geothermal towers, but the latter has been mostly solved. Most of the giant monsters are either captured and being studied or were literally torn to pieces and devoured by Knights of the Order of Megaladon and their mascot Same.

The new archeological find is a group of six stone statues. They are extremely realistic and are barely dressed in the remains of ancient clothing. There would be no surviving clothing, but the cold and pressure away from the geothermal vents slowed their decay.

"We have determined the clothing dates to around 9,400 BCE and it's more than likely that these statues are from the Atlantean Capital." says the assistant.

"Why did they dress statues in clothing?" asks another intern.

"They didn't." replies Cyanea, "I've seen this before. Long before the Spell of Humility was cast upon the Gargoyle race by the Roman Magus, our clothing and items would get caught in our stone sleep. I can also sense the traces of a magic spell."

"These are real people turned to stone!?" concludes the Intern.

"Atlantis was a city of homo magi, but not all of them became homo mermanus." says Archeus, "Most of them died, but some did escape and formed other communities. This group must have cast the spell to protect themselves during the sinking but were lost in the Undersea."

Cyanea begins to chant in Ancient Atlantean, her eyes glowing a fiery turquoise before she releases a wave of magic. As it washes over the statues, swirling patterning of glowing turquoise briefly appears on the stone skin. Then the stone skin begins to crack. After a few seconds, the stone skin shatters away from the awakened people littering the ground in dust. It also destroys what remains of the clothing, causing the group to cover themselves in embarrassment.

"Where are we? Who are you? What are you? Why are we naked?" says one girl in Ancient Atlantean. The Intern rushes off to find clothing and/or towels. The girl has blue eyes, dark skin with blue tattoo-like markings, and shoulder-length black hair.

"You are in Atlantis, specifically the city-state of Poseidonis. I am Priestess Cyanea of Atlantis and Cognito. I am a Gargoyle, a winged humanoid species that lives to protect and works symbiotically with humans. You are naked because it took a long time to find you."

"How long?" whispers the girl

"...Thousands of years."

"What...?"

"When Atlantis sank, your group was lost in an area called the Undersea. It was only recently breached."

"Thousands of years. Nobody looked in thousands of years!"

"They were still recovering after the Lord of Chaos Klarion sank Atlantis."

"It took thousands of years to recover a city!?" yells the girl, crying.

"Continent. Klarion sank the entire continent."

"..."

"I'll call Cognito Psych. They are getting some new patients."

"Oh, so just 'another Tuesday', then," one of the researchers hummed.

"I wanted to be polite about it, but yes."

Super-genius Anthony Edward "Tony" Stark has always been adaptive, using the resources around him. He was making electronics when he was just a child. When he was severely injured and imprisoned by terrorists, he first built a device to keep his heart going, then he built a powered exoskeletal armor to get him out of the terrorist base. He made these creations in a dirty cave from bits and pieces. Since then, he's created the most advance armors in the world for various purposes, with the main purpose of saving lives as Iron Man.

Even when Iron Man found himself in a whole new world, he adapted and joined forces with super-genius Doctor Genus and Cognito. He became their partner and continued to create Iron Man armors, even more advance than anything he had created before. When Brainiac invaded Earth, Tony acquired some of the technology and with help from Cognito integrated it into his armor.

Iron Man Armor Mark C (100) is also known as Cyberverse Armor. Instead of merely a suit of metal or even nanomachines, this armor is composed of materials from an artificial universe. Using Cog's ability to create miniature universes (micro verses) and his knowledge of the Cyberverse created by Cog computers and the elemental plane of The Metal, he created a Micro-Cyberverse. A personal reality that he could use to design and create anything he desires. The Cyberverse Armor is merely an extension of the Cyberverse, manipulated by Tony's will like Green Lanterns manipulate the green energy of willpower.

As he flies over a Apokolips-controlled world with his hundreds of clones, they deploy a thousand fin funnels that enter orbit of the world.

"Let's get this party started."

"Deep Scan in progress." says the AI of his current suit, Y.O.L.O.N.D.A. "Hostiles detected."

Iron Man's red armored form becomes a blur dodging multiple beams of energy and plasma-based projectiles. The squad of Parademons attempt to get close, while other Apokoliptan soldiers attempt to target him with advanced long-range weaponry. The Parademons don't get within a hundred meters, when repulsor rays send them flying away from the shell head. A barrage of micro-missiles also blows their space guns into tiny fragments.

"Deep Scan at 35%"

"Hey Yolonda, can we speed this up?"

"Not without sacrificing processing power for the suit manifestation." says the AI – You only live once, never die alone – who was made with help from Doctor Genus. Doctor Genus promised Mrs. Stark that her husband would come home in his original body, and he installed protocols in the AI to make sure it would happen.

Two Apokoliptan warships appear with their main guns charged, but Iron Man had already moved and moved fast enough that the best target tracking system made by New God technology failed. Iron Man does spirals around the outside of each ship, but he doesn't do this just to show off and humiliate the soldiers aboard the ships. He left behind a few presents.

Seconds later, the Apokoliptan soldiers are confused when the communications systems begin to play AC/DC. Then the weapon systems go offline, followed by the sensor system. The engines and navigation system are next to go offline, followed by artificial gravity and life support. All the screens, both solid and holographic, briefly show the face of Iron Man's helmet before the entire computer system goes offline forever.

"Deep Scan at 70%." says Yolonda, "Incoming Danger. New God detected."

Iron Man turns to see a New God of Apokolips rise from the surface of the planet. He's over two-and-half meters tall with red eyes, dark green-gray metallic skin that resembles an arthropod carapace, and a smooth hairless head. The humanoid make has a very muscular body which is covered in segmented dark blue armor with energy wings. Its four arms each transform into weapons.

"Scan concludes it is a New God Bug equipped with modified Scarab. Danger: High." says the AI

"Not good."

The "Dark Beetle" unleashes a barrage of attacks that manages to do some damage and appears to disorient Iron Man. This causes Dark Beetle to charge and slam into Iron Man, but what Dark Beetle doesn't expect is for reality to shatter like glass. It's like there was a hidden wall behind Iron Man and Dark Beetle finds himself in an unknown place with Iron Man missing from its claws.

Dark Beetle finds itself in an infinite space surrounded by virtual shapes.

"Where are you, Stark!?" yells the Dark Beetle.

"Everywhere." says Tony's god-like voice.

Dark Beetle cries out as glowing angular cracks appear on his body. Soon his body is covered by so many cracks, it resembles a jigsaw puzzle. The scream becomes a distorted electronic noise as the puzzle comes apart to reveal a New God Bug underneath the armor. The pieces assemble back into a hollow armor facing the Bug.

"I feel strange." says Dargon - Bug of New Genesis, "I had an important meeting with All-Widow, but I... I was attacked."

"Darkseid enslaved you using a modified Reach scarab and used you to get control of your colony." explains Iron Man appearing in front of the confused Dargon, while the Dark Bug's armor shell struggles in its binds. "That armor over there is a representation of the mind control."

Iron Man makes a giant red-gold hammer appear in his hand, which he hands to Dargon, who's amazed he can hold a weapon when its head is larger than his body. Dargon then smiles before smashing the Scrab armor into tiny vanishing pixels.

Outside Iron Man's Cyber-verse, the scan percentage reaches "100%" and the orbiting armor clones and fin funnels open fire. They fire blue beams that create shockwaves that spread across the planet's surface. As the energy waves wash over the planet, all sentient beings are digitized and transferred into the cyber verse in status. A planet of 100 million New God Bugs, 1 million natives, 250000 Parademons, and a hundred Apokoliptan Agents is emptied in the blink of an eye.

Inside Iron Man's Cyber-verse, the Bugs and natives are cured of Apokoliptan mental conditioning and physical experiments, what would normally take years of dedicated work in the mundane universe is done faster than the scan of a computer's antivirus program. Parademons are broken down and disposed of since there is no way of making them what they were before. Agents have their knowledge stripped from their brains and transferred to Cognito.

Centuries ago, after a violent world war, the people of this world began to replace body parts with cybernetic prostheses. Overtime, it wasn't just replacing missing or diseased parts, and cyberware and body modifications became a trend. The divide between the rich and poor increased, as the cyberware allowed people to advance far faster than those without implants. Cyberization policies became so extensive that babies were receiving implants at birth to compete in the new world.

When the Agents of Apokolips landed on the world, they distributed cyber technology more advanced than anything else on the world. Their technology spread across the world and their vast wealth allowed them to control the governments and media. They made it so anyone without implants was made unimportant, unable to get a job of any importance or media attention. The New God technology allowed them too slowly gain control of all people possessing implants on the planet.

There was one group that refused to slice up their organic bodies and replace parts with technology. The group was considered a crazy religious group for refusing cyberization and were even forced out of some countries by the governments who couldn't easily monitor them. Even when their leader was assassinated, they refused to submit to manipulation of the "chrome heads". When Apokolips showed their true face and conquered the world in a day, it was the group that became the heart of the rebels.

"Surrender." yells the Commander of the chrome heads. They are all gray-skinned humanoids with glowing red eyes, bald heads, and red lights on their black cybernetic limbs and implants. They are dressed in black suits and long black coats, while holding large weapons.

" And become puppets of Darkseid?" yells the Leader, a tall man with an impressive beard, "We will not sacrifice our souls at the altar of a Dark God."

The rebellion members have dark eyes, pale blue skin, and various hair colors and styles. They are dressed in lighter and old clothing. They also wear a symbol resemble a bird the color of the setting sun surrounded by a circle of flame.

"Then you will all die, followers of the Phoenix. This world belongs to-"

Phoenix is a legendary species of bird with a very long-life cycle. Upon laying an egg, the phoenix burst into flame and died. The new phoenix was born from the ashes of its parents. There are many similar magical species that exist across the known universe. On this world, the immortal firebird is a symbol of life and rebirth unbound by mortal will.

The Commander's eyes widen when he hears the thunderous sound of an amplified raptor's cry and the sky brightening. When Apokolips conquered the world, factories were set up to feed the New God war efforts and the pollution not only darkened the skies but wiped out most avian species.

"What?"

The Phoenix Force is one of the oldest known cosmic entities, said to predate darkness and the universe. The Phoenix Force is an immortal, indestructible, and mutable manifestation of the prime universal force of life. It is the nexus of all psionic energy which does, has, and ever will exist in all realities of the Multiverse, born of the void between states of being.

Its current host is the beautiful red-haired Jean Grey who looks like a fiery angel to the implant-free natives. The colorful flames that wash over the Followers of the Phoenix, instantly healing their injuries, a result of recently acquired magical powers amplified to cosmic levels by the Phoenix Force. After the Devil Fruit powers have finished healing the followers, they are all transported away by mystical flames.

"Where did they go!?" yells the Commander, overcoming the shock.

"The Followers have been transported to a place safe from Darkseid's tyranny." says Jean in the minds of mind-controlled cyborgs. This telepathic voice is heard across the entire planet. The Commander is about to order an attack on Jean, but she says one word "Sleep."

Around the world, the hundred million cyborgs suddenly stiffen and the red glow fades from their eyes and circuitry. They all collapse to the ground unconscious. Thankfully most of them aren't driving vehicles, operating heavy equipment, or performing delicate operations, so they aren't harmed. The autopilot systems on the planes work better than predicted and land the planes without the pilot input.

"Show yourself, Vermin." commands the Phoenix.

The Apokoliptan Agents explode from their hidden spots.

One is a very tall, very thin humanoid with long limbs composed of mechanical cables. Its upper face is covered in black armor with a cycloptic red eye and its lower face being corpse-like with a wide grin showing its white teeth. Outside its head, its entire body appears to be composed of black cables illuminated by red lights.

The other is a short, thick, fat humanoid with short limbs and a very round body. He has a smooth bald head with yellow eyes, rubbery green skin, and a long antenna. He's dressed in a green/yellow bodysuit with a wide belt around his waist to allow him to float and move. The front of the torso has an image that resembles a demonic face. There is a faint green shimmer from an invisible energy barrier around him.

"Conduit and Payback." says Jean, looking bored. She scanned the minds of the two Apokoliptan agents despite their protections against telepathy and mind reading abilities.

The tall man Conduit can split his body into countless nanocables that he can manipulate like tentacles. These cables can easily slice through people, even soldiers in armor, and channel destructive amounts of electricity and radiation. They can also inject people with nanomechanical parasitic worms that allow him to take control of the nervous systems of victims.

Conduit's cables can't get past her fiery psychokinetic aura. On a microscopic level, the nanocables are being burnt away before they can go even a millimeter into the golden phoenix aura. Even the thicker heat-resistant cables melted away like they tried to go fishing in the surface of the sun.

"Damn it!" says Conduit in English.

The fat man Payback can absorb energy and redirect it. He can absorb kinetic energy rendering him immune to sonic attacks, bludgeoning, most bladed attacks, and solid projectiles. He can then fire the energy as sonic attacks. He can absorb heat, light, and radiation, creating areas of extreme cold. He can then fire incinerating energy beams. He can absorb electricity and fire lightning bolts.

Payback can manipulate various forms of energy, but those energies are mundane. Metaphysical forces like Qi, Psionic, Spiritual, and Magical energies are outside his design. While Phoenix's aura resembles fire or plasma, it's mostly psychokinetic energy manipulating the space around her with traces of magic from a world of pirates, marines, and endless weirdness.

"What are we going to do...?" asks Payback to Conduit in his native language, before he's stopped by pain. Payback's veins bulge and his body shakes. He begins to curse out Conduit in both Apokoliptan dialect and his original native dialect. Conduit, knowing that their chances are close to zero, activates the parasites he hid inside his partner, taking control over Payback and his powers.

Payback begins to absorb Phoenix's fiery aura despite not being able to control the effects of psychic power. At the same time Conduit attempts to run away. He doesn't get far as Phoenix grabs the cyborg with her psychokinesis and holds him until his partner reaches overload.

Payback's body violently swells, emits beams of golden light, and then explodes like a fuel truck full of ANFO. Conduit's body is also consumed by the massive explosion and reduced to burning fragments.

In the sky, Conduit's severed head is flying away, cables trailing behind it like a squid.

"Where do you think you're going?" says Phoenix.

The Light and Darkseid's forces being partners in conquest have shared research data they acquired. This allowed the New Gods of Apokolips to create vast clone armies possessing metahuman abilities. They installed biochips in the brains of each clone to ensure loyalty and make sure they didn't question orders like the chips used by Republic/Empire in Star Wars. The biggest problem with making your army of super soldiers easily controllable is if they can be controlled by one person, they can be controlled by another.

The chips were slaved to what the New Gods thought were the most advance computers in existence Metron's Father boxes. When every father box in existence went offline, which was thought impossible, the identification verification system and majority of security features also went offline. Within ten minutes, the Apokoliptan Agents left in control were stealthily taken down and the soldiers were ordered to march into portals that led to an isolated world in a pocket dimension. In that dimension, Cog Medical removed the chips, subconscious commands, and other forms of commands, before siccing there vast army of psychologists on the former living weapons.

"Where the [Apokoliptan Curse Word] are everyone!?" yells the Apokoliptan Agent as he walks through one of the now empty bases. He's a tall thick man in green-and-black with gold circuitry patterns on his uniform that New Gods favor. "I was only gone ten minutes to take a shit!?"

"Missed one." says a voice in English, "Forgot to check the washrooms."

The Agent turns, pulling his weapon and opens fire with his blaster. The yellow energy beam streaks down the hall and melts a hole in a distant wall but failing to hit the source of the voice.

"Your aim is terrible."

"Where are you coward!? Show yourself!"

"Show myself? I am sitting in front of you. Look down."

The Apokoliptan Agent looks down and sees a small animal sitting on the ground in front of him. It's a brown furred quadrupedal animal, unknown to the Agent due to Apokolips lack of natural beauty, resembles a cross between a fox and squirrel with purple eyes. Around its neck is a black collar with a golden tag.

"What kind of rodent are you?"

"I'm a Pokémon. My name is Evo." says the Eevee as his collar glows translating his thoughts into audible language. Normally he would only be able to speak the Eevee variant of Poké-speech, but Cognito invented collars and bands that could translate for intelligent beings.

The Agent attempts to shoot the Pokémon, but the absurdly agile creature moves out of the way. No matter how fast he moves his gun, the Pokémon is always faster evading target lock. Evo then becomes covered in a glowing aura before ramming into the Agent at hypersonic speed. Despite the tiny Pokémon barely weighing more than 6.5 kg (~14lbs), he sends the 100kg (220lb) soldier flying into the ceiling hard enough to create an imprint. The shocked Agent vomits blood before falling unconscious and falling out of the hole in the ceiling to the ground below.

"Cog. Another Agent is Taken Down. I better get a bonus."

"Your berries are ready, Evo." says a female voice over communications as a portal opens and robots retrieve Evo and his opponent.

A God Scientist is running for his life. He is a frightening figure with pale skin, sunken red eyes, and stringy black hair. The deformed man in purple is running for his life because he's being chased by someone far more fearsome than the chief torturer and a servant to Darkseid.

Desaad is one of the most sadistic New Gods, matching accounts of Donatien Alphonse François, Marquis de Sade (the origin of the word sadism). He delights in the pain of others and considers race wars to be entertainment. He is in no way a masochist and he can only imagine what his pursuer will do to him.

"Lord Darkseid will avenge me." says Desaad, his words sounding hollow even to himself.

"Darkseid is the God of Tyranny. He cares for no one, but himself." says Rorschach as he emerges from the shadows with a style only he has. The black-and-white pattern of the Rorschach's Blot mask having become more menacing than ever with sharp blade-like patterns. Rorschach clenches his fists and there is an audible cracking sound. "He might get upset over losing a valuable resource, but this planet is filled with sadistic scumbags."

Desaad is very pale, but he's desperate to stop the most feared man in the universe. Desaad is a brilliant God scientist capable of inflicting pain on every known sentient species in the known universe, even implanting the ability to feel pain in a couple of species. Physically, Desaad is one of the weakest New Gods in existence and could probably be beaten to death by a human with a crowbar.

Desaad grips a hidden remote in his purple robes and clicks some of the buttons, but much to his growing horror nothing happens to Rorschach.

"An invisible cloud of nanomachines that enter the victim's body through the lungs and skin, then attaches to the nerves of the host. It allows you to seize control of your victims controlling their movements and inducing pain that would be impossible with normal trauma." says Rorschach causing Desaad's eyes to widen. The torturer's weapon was a carefully guarded secret only known to Lord Darkseid and his deceased victims, so he has no idea how Rorschach knew of it.

"Nice try, Desaad, but I'm not really standing here." says Rorschach, letting his body dissolve into a swirling cloud of vanishing holographic particles. "I don't need to be here to eliminate trash like you."

Desaad realizes he can't move his body. His own nanomachine fog has infected his somatic nervous system and he's now under the control of his enemy. He can't move a single muscle that requires conscious control.

"I considered giving you a quick death and moving on to more important people." says Rorschach in his head. The nanomachines have interfaced with his auditory and visual nerves, making Desaad see and hear Rorschach despite the hologram being gone. "Then I looked at your files. Torturing children to break their parents, releasing a hate plague to make a world murder itself, and the ways you have broken many good heroes. You deserve to go to Hell before you meet Obsidian Black."

Desaad can't move and can't scream, but he can feel and what he feels is pain. This pain is beyond mortal imagination as every pain neuron in the New God's body is stimulated. This is beyond the pain of drowning, electrocution, burning alive, or chemicals. This pain should instantly kill a person from the shock, but the nanomachines have disconnected his life functions from his brain's control and they are reinforcing his brain to prevent sections from burning out. They also prevent the brain from getting used to the pain, so the pain is constantly raw and invasive. Desaad loses all concept of time, he doesn't know if he's been tortured for a few seconds, a few hours, or a few decades. All that exists in his world is pain and he can't scream except in his decaying mind.

Rorschach watches holographic charts indicating Desaad's mental health flatline despite the nanomachines to keep him conscious and sane. Desaad's ego has collapsed like a blackhole and the nanomachines are merely stimulating soulless flesh instead of a sentient mind. Rorschach triggers the self-destruct of the nanomachines and every neuron in Desaad's body is destroyed. It happens so fast that steam comes out of Desaad's mouth and eyes from the cooked brain and optical nerves.

"Next."

The Orphanage

Granny Goodness is a high-ranking official in Darkseid's empire. While she appears to be a kind old woman outside her armor, she is a feared warrior of Apokolips. On Apokolips, she ran a place known as the Orphanage. A training facility that Granny Goodness took many children in and raised them on her twisted version of 'love' to turn them into some of the most fearsome warriors on all Apokolips.

The current Orphanage is a satellite headquarters, from which she runs the acquisition and redistribution of test subjects with the Meta-Gene. It's where she trained and disciplined young warriors for Darkseid, and if I have any say, it will be her tomb.

"Such a naughty child." says Granny Goodness, who's bleeding from numerous injuries. Injuries inflicted by my absurdly sharp bone spikes. It shows how durable the old hag is since my spikes can slice through soldiers in full armor. "Aren't you worried about these poor children?"

The twisted grandma character implies that the metahuman slaves could be harmed by either our fight or by her. I just smile down at her, showing my rows of sharp teeth.

"You haven't had many encounters with Cognito have you, Granny?"

"No, Child. I will admit that I haven't had the pleasure." says Granny with sarcasm with the last word.

"Cognito provides solutions to all problems and the best way to solve problems is to plan ahead. None of our foes have lasted against us because they are playing chess against Doctor Genus; and he's always a hundred moves ahead."

"What do you mean?"

"You ask if I'm worried about these poor children? I ask; what Children?"

Granny's eyes widen as explosive collars, mind control helmets, manacles, and even implants fall to the ground. The metahuman prisoners dissolve into vanishing blue particles revealing them to be isomorphic doppelgängers (hologram doubles).

Granny's blood boils at Cog were able to steal all her children without her noticing. I can sense the negative emotions and my inner monster feeds on the darkness.

"I thank you, Granny." I say to her, being sincere.

"What?" asks the confused and angry New Goddess.

"I thank you, Granny. For all the hard work you did to train those 'children'." I say to Granny Goodness, spreading my arms flamboyantly, "With a little help from Cog to break their loyalty to Darkseid, they will make for wonderful Heroes."

Granny roars in rage and blindly runs towards me. I don't move as she smashes her New God mace cracking with lightning against the side of my face. The mace on the other hand shatters against my grey hide and the damaged power cells explode in her hand. While she is stunned, I grab her in a hug.

"This reminds me of when I used to hug my Nan before the dementia took her." I say as I hug Granny Goodness a bit too hard. The bone armor on my chest grinds against her armor plate and her New God bones creak under the pressure. Granny continues to struggle as I continue to increase the pressure. Granny can't even cry out due to the severe pressure and soon even veteran bones of Apokoliptan warrior can't withstand the pressure. I hold her as tight as I can as her spine breaks and blood spills from her mouth. "Goodbye, Granny."

I spread my arms and Granny's crushed corpse fell to the ground. I can sense her New God soul attempting to escape, but my hellish body consumes the god soul.

Vundabar's Palace

Virman Vundabar is panicking.

He's a short man barely standing five-foot-two and a hundred thirty pounds with blue eyes and short black hair with the sides shaved. He dresses in a bright red Prussian military uniform decorated with black and gold.

Virman Vundabar was a key member of Darkseid's Elite. He models his personality and schemes on Prussian military appearance and precision partly because of the Earth-based name assigned to him by Granny Goodness. People would wonder why Apokoliptan personal would base themselves on Earth historical figures and only the late Granny would know the answer.

He had many plans against the greatest threat to Lord Darkseid's rule – Cognito. He has God Scientists create barriers that would destroy any matter containing carbon or silicon. This was to protect against Cognito microscopic, but effective nanomachines. He has shields calibrated to frequencies of Cog's infamous energy weaponry. He has special Parademons with VI brains rigged with plasma explosives to do kamikaze attacks.

What he didn't expect was for the Father boxes to go offline and Cog to hack into all the computer systems in the Apokoliptan territories. The most heavily encrypted computer codes in the galaxy were ripped apart and decoded in seconds. Every piece of technology more complicated than a Coffee maker was taken over and Virman nearly lost his shins to a disgruntle cleaning robot with a funny accent.

He finally stops and pulls out an emergency communicator which resembles a black-and-gold smartphone.

"Hello. This is Virman Vundabar and I need evac!" he yells with his thick Prussian accent.

"We are sorry. All lines are busy. Please say on the line." says a female electronic voice.

"How can all lines be busy!? Only the Elites are supposed to have these coms!"

"Everyone is getting their asses kicked by Cog forces." says the voice on the phone and Vundabar pales as he realizes even his secret emergency communicator is hacked.

A set of claws then slams into his back and sends him tumbling. He's then kicked in the face hard enough to break teeth. He is quickly surrounded by fearsome Parademons. At first, he wonders if one of his rivals is using the confusion of the Cog Invasion to eliminate him, but then he realizes it's even worse. These Parademons are the cybernetic altered ones loaded with modified plasma grenades – The Kamikaze Parademons. His puppets are now controlled by another puppet master.

"Who are you?" he studders despite his broken jaw and missing teeth making his mouth a bloody mess.

"The name is Rorschach." says the voice on the phone, changing from a female computer voice to Rorschach's normal tones. "Ash and I have divided up today's work and I got you as a target. I have the easy job as you idiots keep providing me with materials."

The Parademons continue to beat Vundabar, breaking bones and crushing flesh, painting the walls with body fluids. He's never been hurt this much even when he was trained at Granny's orphanage. His eyes are nearly sealed shut from the bruising and swelling, but he can see a glow in the throats of the Parademons indicating their flame breath.

"I have a daughter." he whimpers. He knows Heroes are known for compassion and will spare those with families. Vundabar thinks he's getting mercy when he's not incinerated by plasma. He forgot with his concussion that he's currently facing Rorschach – an Elite of Cog with very little mercy.

"Wrong tense; you had a daughter."

Vundabar is then dogpiles by Parademons, the whirring noise of plasma grenades resonating against his crushed body.

"Mmmmm buh-bye~"

The next moment they simultaneously detonated.

Steppenwolf's Lair, Barracks.

Steppenwolf stares at his opponent and readies himself for battle, because he isn't a bitch. Unlike the one in Cinematic Universe, he resembles a Mongolian warlord more than a reject from a MCU Thor movie. He stands six feet tall and over two hundred powers of New God muscle with red eyes, white skin, and straight black hair hidden under his horned helmet. He's dressed in armor that looks like medieval armor updated to be futuristic. His weapon of choice is even a battle axe with a high frequency edge and the crackling with lightning. It may look like a discount Stormbreaker (since it's connected to Steppenwolf by a cable like an electrical cord), but that New God Axe can cleave through most substances in existence.

"Steppenwolf. Hunter of Innocent Men, Women, and Children."

"Ash Grey the Doomsday. The Indestructible Monster."

Steppenwolf was the brother of the late Queen Heggra and brother-in-law to the former leader of Apokalips Yuga Kahn - the most powerful New God that ever existed. Yuga Kahn became trapped in the Source Wall and after Doctor Genus' alterations is now very dead. Queen Heggra was a notorious woman who was poisoned by her son Darkseid after he learned she ordered the murder of his wife Suli (mother of Kalibak) and forced him to marry Tigra (mother of Orion).

I think about the family relationship, because Neo has already transported Tigra and several other prisoners to New Genesis. If I have anything to say, those former prisoners will be the only survivors.

"I have a question."

"Yes?"

"Why do you wear dumb helmets?"

Steppenwolf doesn't answer my question, instead moving with surprising superhuman speed and attempts to cleave my skull in half. I'm fast enough to grab the blade and lightning arcs around us. I can see the shockwave produced by the impact shattering the ground around us. To my surprise he pulls the blade from my fingers before I can break it and slashes at me with skill born of centuries of warfare. My speed is still far superior and I'm learning his techniques as fast as he's performing them (sometimes even a little faster), so I'm able to knock the blade away.

He finally scores a hit against the side of my face, and I reach up to find a drop of dark liquid on my finger.

"All that for a drop of blood." I mock the old Warrior, quoting Thanos the Mad Titan.

Steppenwolf looks down at his electro-axe which, the blade partially shattered from its impact against my impossibly durable body. That axe could survive the force of an exploding star and with enough force behind it cloud cleave a planet in half, but it broke against my grey hide. It's my turn to throw a punch and he tries to block with his damaged axe. The electro axe shatters when it encounters my glowing fist and Steppenwolf is sent flying through several walls, landing near one of the fire pits of Apokalips.

The group of Parademons spot me and injured Steppenwolf and are quick to attack. I merely breathe hellish flames and incinerate the annoying bugs. Steppenwolf attempts to use his cable snare, to either entangle me to slow me down or grapple line away from me. I don't give him a chance, as I use my Doom Vision to slice off his arm. I then use my Doom Vision to slice off his other limbs. I pick up what remains and smirk showing my rows of sharp teeth.

"I have ten thousand ways to kill you and you could die ten thousand times thanks to my friend." I say to Steppenwolf, "but I just don't have the time."

I toss the limbless body into Fire Pit. Even with my super hearing I can barely hear his screams over the thunderous roar of immense flames. Soon, only the roar of the flames remains.

*Doom*

Slums of Apokolips

The next target to appear is the strategist Kanto.

He stands 5-foot-11 with blue eyes, shoulder-length black hair, and a beard. Kanto's outfit resembles the clothing from Earth's European Renaissance period. It was trained in the 14th century, which would have been the Italian Renaissance. Kanto is an expert organizer and strategist; Kanto's tactics are only second to Darkseid himself on Apokolips. He is a master swordsman and can adapt to almost any weapon. He has accomplished a lot for his master, Darkseid, but has also developed a respect for other people's arts, to the point he sometimes spares people for impressing him.

Those seven hundred years of swordsmanship, strategy, and combat skills are useless against an opponent of my caliber.

His sword could slice through the strongest materials using high frequency electrical oscillations to weaken molecular bonds, but HF Blades were one of the first weapons that Neo tested against me. I give him points for trying to stab me in the eye as that spooked me, even if the blade broke having a blade going for your eye is scary (and I had eye surgery in my previous life).

His traps were also interesting. A classic pitfall into a plasma furnace countered by flight granted by my Legion Ring. A hyper-gravity trap crushes its victims with 500G, but even with the anti-gravity of my ring I can easily walk through those extremes. A dimensional warping trap based on the Boom Tubes was neat, but I've been resisting spacetime shenanigans since my trip to Hell and my encounters with the cosmic horrors.

I created a sword and a dagger composed of my bone.

"I will admit I'm impressed, Kanto. So, if you can block even one of my attacks, I'll spare you. I'll keep my speed and strength at your level, so you have a chance."

Kanto is annoyed that he's being looked down upon, but he's also relieved. He knows he's no match against my physical power even with the superhuman abilities granted by his New God Physiology. I wonder if he knows those New God abilities are weakening with their connection to The Source weakened, like how Superman weakens without the sun.

Kanto and I become a blur of motion, moving at speed no mortal eye can track. When we stop, we are back-to-back.

"You just used my techniques?" says Kanto with a smirk, blood dripping down the side of his face.

"Your swordsmanship impressed me form the start." I replied, some of Kanto's blood on my cheek.

We once more become blurs of speed and technique. The floor and walls are stained by the fine mist of Kanto's blood. When we stop again, we are once more back-to-back, but Kanto's sword is snapped. He succeeded in hitting me. Kanto is smiling before his body releases sprays of arterial blood and collapses.

"Don't worry. Cog is good at putting pieces back together."

Near Apokolips Central Communications Center

The red-haired Glorious Godfrey is terrified. He's always been confident with his powers of persuasion. He can have the closest allies and even family members turn against each other with a few whispers. In Darkseid's name he or one of his incarnations travels to other worlds and manipulates the media to his advantage. Anything that could pose a threat be they a scientist, politician, activist, and superpowered being would be attacked by the people they sought to protect. Anything that would aid their agenda would receive his helping hand. His most recent incarnation was G. Gordon Godfrey a GBS pundit on the Planet Earth. On that world he was successful against the Justice League, but failed miserably against Cognito Inc because they produced their own media.

His beautiful sister in purple - Amazing Grace – is also with him. While her brother specializes in turning the population of a world against its defenders, she uses her own mind manipulation powers to manipulate the rebel elements of various worlds, especially her own world of Apokolips. She would help unite the groups that opposed the Tyrant God's rule and arrange for their extermination. In another timeline, it was Amazing Grace playing the part of the victim that allowed Darkseid to capture Superman and turn him into his Agent.

Grace complains about Godfrey attracting trouble, before tripping her brother. On Apokolips, friendship and family are just something that can be used against you. From the highest tier to the lowest tier, New Gods and their slaves will betray others to survive, and ambition is only quelled by fear of the strong.

Suddenly, both collapsed to the ground holding their heads in pain. The sounds around them have gotten louder to the point where even the sound of their footsteps is hurting their ears. They almost cry out in fear when Rorschach appears from the darkness, but the pain stops them. He must be a hologram because his footsteps are completely silent. He whispers to them, but to them it's a thunderous commanding voice like one of Darkseid's rare awe-inspiring speeches.

"Godfrey, you are one of the most annoying people I have met. I killed so many clones and incarnations of you on Earth, before I realized where you really were."

Godfrey wants to ask Rorschach about what was done to them, but the sound of his own heartbeat is like the beating of a war drum in his ears.

"Cognito Inc is far superior to the Light. We can actually give a person any power they desire if we agree. We even include secondary powers that allow them to fully control that power and not be harmed by it. Things like telekinetic anchoring so strong men can lift objects without sinking into the ground and making a fire manipulator immune to flames." says Rorschach, his voice clear over the ambient sounds which are now louder than a busy airport. "I gave you two siblings a version of supernatural hearing without the bonuses. My whispers are inaudible to Superman, but you can feel them down to your bone marrow."

Grace whose beautiful face is distorted with torment and crying from the pain, mouths a word. She is asking- "Why me?"

"You helped kill off anything good on this planet, Grace. You killed off the hope on this world, so you deserve the same hell as your brother."

Rorschach makes a Cog-built speaker appear in front of the brother and sister. It's the kind of speaker that is commonly used by Cog-sponsored Idol bands for live concerts. It's small, but extremely powerful and Rorschach has connected it to a player that's already loaded.

"Time to say goodbye. I'll leave you with a fitting swansong."

Seconds later, the speakers produce sounds audible for blocks. The twins don't know if the sound is the calm Celtic music or the best of NEFFEX, as to them it sounds like a kilometer long meteorite hitting the ground from less a hundred meters away. Their minds implode from the pain as their heads explode from the overload.

Their decapitated bodies are found by cannibalistic Hunger Dogs who immediately eat them.

The Pits

My next opponent is Devilance the Pursuer.

The seven-foot blue-eyed bald New God was trained to become a Legendary Hunter of humanoids. Hunting down the victims assigned to him by the planet's ruler Darkseid. His duty is to pursue, trap, and destroy his prey, or else he himself would die. He's never failed any of his missions including killing several young New Gods that stepped out of New Genesis territory (and hence were not protected by the treaty between the two planets).

The main source of Devilance's success is his mastery of spearmanship and his special Spear. Devilance always carries a spear capable to slice through any material, shoot powerful energy blasts and can increase its size and its owner. The high-tech spear can also teleport to the owner's hand and allow the owner to teleport using mental commands.

Those energy blasts could wipe islands off the face of planets, but he's not shooting at a planet's geography. He is smart enough to destroy the terrain to slow me down, but the Legion flight ring helped me get over pitfalls and I can break through Apokoliptan alloys, even the strongest military grade, with relative ease. Devilance found out the hard way when he transformed into a giant and tried to step on me. I tore through his foot like a rusty nail through a cheap flip-flop.

The teleportation BS is the reason he's been escaping my pursuit, but finally I get help from Rorschach who disables all teleportation on the planet. Now the Hunter is showing me his mastery of the spear which has slaughtered many New God children. Much to Devilance's horror, I block the spear tip with the end of my finger. Like HF Blades and other supernaturally sharp blades, his spear weakens the atomic bonds of matter, but can't scratch my grey fingertip.

"Darkseid's Hunting Dog." I mock as I catch the blade tip and hold it perfectly still with two fingers despite the superhuman New God muscle behind it. "I'm not impressed."

I knock his spear away and stab his chest with my index and middle fingers. My fingers pierce his chest plate with the speed of a bullet and when I pull back with even greater speed, it creates a spray of blood. He looks shocked at the deep wound in his chest and small amount of blood on my fingertips. I then proceed to "spear" Devilance with my fingers several more times at high speed, tearing more holes in the New God of Hunting. My finishing move is driving my index and middle finger into his forehead and deep into his brain. I can feel the gross sensation of shockwaves liquifying the spongy flesh around my fingertips. When I pull back my fingers, Deliance's corpse hits the ground.

"Why can't I move!?"

Doctor Bedlam is a master scientist and a being of pure psionic energy. As such he is usually invisible but can make himself appear in the form of the face he once had. It's not an attractive form as he's an ugly bald man with two black stripes on his head and wearing a dark orange and black containment suit.

"You're possessing one of your blank featured androids and despite the warnings you received from the other god scientists, you didn't update the software security." says Rorschach leaning against the wall.

"This won't hold me! I'm a being-"

"-composed of pure psionic energy. I know, I know," Rorschach said drolly with a bored wave of his hand. There is a faint click and a black-and-white ring-shaped device appears on the chest of Bedlam's current robotic host. "PEC VI - Psionic Energy Conversion Model Six."

Doctor Bedlam cries out as he begins to feel something he hasn't experienced since he became a being of pure energy – Pain! He feels himself being drained by the device on his chest as white lightning arcs around his body and damages his lab equipment.

"One of the most powerful psychics in the known universe is Doctor Jean Summers (nee Grey) better known as Phoenix. She is powerful even without the cosmic power enhancement of the Phoenix Force, but with it she can devour stars. For a being of psionic entity to consume a star they must convert one form of energy into another and since she works for Cognito, Doctor Genus studied those conversions."

Doctor Bedlam can barely understand Rorschach's words due to the sheer amount of pain. This amount of pain would kill a mortal humanoid, but an energy being doesn't have organic systems to overload. He just continued to feel the pain like a damned soul in the depths of the original Hell.

"To you this is a horror beyond imaginable. The energy that composes your body and mind exists as one, so as that psionic energy is pulled from your shell, your mind is slowly being torn apart. Will you fall into madness and scatter your soul to ease the pain of your annihilation? Will you cling to the memories as they vanish until you're merely a child wondering why it hurts? Will you fight to the bitter end like your countless victims?"

Psionic energy is converted into heat energy since while it's possible to exist as metaphysical energy being composed of psychic, spiritual, and/or magical energy, it's not possible to exist as heat energy being in the normal universe. Rorschach's hologram begins to dissolve as the temperature of the lab soars. It goes from being uncomfortably warm to hot enough to boil lead in the blink of an eye. Metals melt into liquid, plastic melt and burn, and canisters of liquid and pressurized gases explode.

While this happens, Doctor Bedlam's perception of time is distorted so he can't tell how long the hell is lasting. For him it could have been an hour, a day, a year, or a decade. For the real world, it was only a couple seconds before he was completely converted and the resulting heat blast causing mini-nuke levels of destruction.

The Bug Hive

"Monster!"

"Tell me something I don't know Bug."

Long ago, during the New God war between New Genesis and Apokolips someone got the "brilliant" idea to create God Insects to ravage Apokolips' dwindling food supplies, but their experiments escaped and became the natives of New Genesis. They faced a lot of racism from their unknown creators and even had several battles before peace was declared. While All-Widow and her court were willing to live together with the people of New Genesis, another took the rebel elements to the surface of Apokalips and pledged their loyalty to Darkseid.

Mantis, the ruler of the Bugs of Apokolips and bestowed many powers in return for his loyalty, watches me in disgust and horror. I'm currently eating the limb of what was once his most loyal soldier. It's not very good, but I had worse Thai shellfish. When I ate at that place, I gained a poison skill.

Mantis can't do anything to stop me. His superhuman strength would allow him to go toe-to-toe with Superman, but my monstrous strength is far greater. All his desperate punches do is crack his exoskeleton to the point he bleeds purple. His heat manipulation and antimatter only managed to cook his former comrade's corpse, making my meal easier to swallow.

There is a pause when I toss away what's left of the limb. Then I bring my claws together and black smoke flows around my hands and arms, faster and faster with red sparks appearing. I point my hands downward, firing a torrent of black smoke slams into the ground and explodes outward. Mantis and his army of over ten thousand elite Bugs cry out in pain as the smoke washes over them, their bodies feeling like they are being burned alive. I watch as parts of their bodies blacken as the toxins begin to destroy the hybrid mutant cells of the Bugs.

Mantis holds his blackening arm as fluids begin to leak from the exoskeleton. The more humanoid parts of his face are grey and emaciated like the dried flesh of a zombie.

"Bug Spray. I wasn't eating your bug brethren because they tasted good, tho with a little cooking and sauce they could be as good as deep-fried grasshoppers."

Mantis wants to yell at me, but all he manages to do is cough up a lot of bug blood. His weaker soldiers are in even worse shape, rotting alive from my specialized poison. I haven't seen a more disgusting death since the electrocution of the Gremlins in Gremlins 2: The New Batch.

"It's a cloud of vaporized venom specially tailored to your biochemistry. The God Scientists of Apokolips may have enhanced your bodies and given you a bunch of new powers, but in the end you're still nothing more than Bugs. Bioengineered locusts crafted by New Genesis to play the longest of all Long Games, but still Bugs. The best way to get rid of annoying insects is cheap insecticide."

Mantis wants to attack me, but his muscles and nerves have rotted making him immobile. Mantis wants to unleash all his powers to one last suicidal attack, but those Darkseid-gifted powers have decayed away. Mantis wants to curse me, but his lungs are failing, and his jaw has already fallen to the ground. Finally, like the death of the God Warrior in Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind his skeletal remains collapse into a pool of liquid rot.

I can't help myself; I begin to laugh and those Apokoliptans that hear it begin to fear it.

The Arena

The Arena is an area of Apokolips where the Female Furies train and brutally kill enemies of Apokolips for Darkseid's amusement.

The Female Furies are a group of female warriors trained by Granny Goodness and Big Barda (at least until Barda defected top Earth with Highfather's son Mister Miracle). Born and trained on the dark world of Apokolips, the Female Furies were the elite members of Darkseid's Special Powers Force. They were raised to be cruel and fanatically loyal, willing to do anything in the name of their lord and master.

Barnadeth, sister to the Head Torturer Desaad and one of the oldest and most experienced Furies. She is the co-leader of the current Incarnation of the Female Furies with Lashina. The five-foot-ten woman is harsh looking like the cruel elderly Headmistress and a nightmarish school and serves as a shock trooper for Darkseid's army. She is not only a sadist, but a masochist, enjoying both inflicting pain on others and receiving pain from others. She wields a plasma-infused bladed weapon, which burns its victims from the inside out. A weapon whose closest English translation is "Fahren-Knife".

Lashina was raised in Granny's Orphanage where only the strong survive and she became a strong and versatile killer. She was so skilled, that will Big Barda's defection she was given command of Furies with the more experienced Barnadeth. In another timeline, she would even become the mother of Apokolips new ruler, the son of Superman. Lashina's name comes from her two specialized whips constructed from a very special alloy and able to conduct powerful electrical discharges. She can even change the properties of the metal to make them into flexible ribbons to entangle and capture prey or extend them into nano-tipped cables that can easily cut through armor and flesh.

Mad Harriet is wild, yellow-skinned woman with a mane of green hair. She lives up to her name, enjoying pain and torture even when it's inflicted on herself. A gifted assassin, she is very agile, nimble, and super-fast. Harriet's weapons of choice are gauntlets with claws and spikes that can pierce any known material.

Stompa is one of the strongest New Gods, possessing strength and durability far greater than the majority of New Gods on both Apokolips and New Genesis. Though she usually uses brute force (excessively), she is a highly trained combatant. She is also noticeably more curvaceous than most of the Furies and dresses fully in bright yellow and orange. Her name comes from her "weapon" - a pair of heavy metal boots that can flatten or crush the densest material. She has stomped many enemies with the result like a tomato being hit with a sledgehammer.

Artemiz looks like an Amazon and her name is like the Greek Goddess of the Hunt. In reality, she was an Amazon, taken from Earth and raised to be loyal servant of Darkseid. A brown-haired woman dressed in yellow and blue, she is a very skilled archer in addition to superhuman physical abilities. She not only has lethal nano-thorn-tipped arrows, but numerous trick arrows like Green Arrow Familia of Heroes, only far more lethal and pain inducing. She also leads a pack of cybernetic wolves, whose senses she can tap into.

Gilotina is a six-foot-five blue-eyed platinum blonde woman with all the strength of New God physiology. She was the leader of the junior Female Furies, until she and they were promoted to the main squad. Her Apokoliptan name translates as "Desire Protection", but one possible translation is the Old French "Gilotina". It's appropriate since her body generates a skintight energy barrier that strengthens and reinforces her body. She can concentrate that energy into her hands and extend the field as blades, allowing her to "chop" through nearly any substance. She can also channel the field into bladed weapons to increase their durability, cutting ability, and the reach of the blade.

Bloody Mary is a recent addition from the junior Female Furies. She looks like a woman with red eyes, pure white skin, and red hair. She is a sadistic energy vampire that can absorb the life energy of others. After draining a person's energy, she can suppress the victim's will and telepathically control them. She can also sense the presence of other beings in her immediate surroundings, and has demonstrated telekinetic abilities, strong enough to allow flight. She can also concentrate her telekinesis into destructive discharges from her eyes and hands.

Speed Queen was once just a thrill seeker and used special boots to move at sonic speeds. She "volunteered" for a Speed Force experiment, which transformed her to an actual Speedster. She has become more unstable with her transformation as she has become more disconnected with those around her.

Malice Vundabar is the niece of Virman Vundabar. She is the physically youngest of the Furies but is no less deadly. She resembles Alice from Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (1865) and its sequel Through the Looking-Glass (1871) but is a twisted reflection of the character. She commands a demonic shadow creature known as Chessure. Every time a helpless victim is consumed by the demonic feline's shadows, Malice absorbs life energy. This increases her strength and vitality, with a sense of euphoria.

Little Barda is a clone. Big Barda was Darkseid's greatest female fury and the daughter of the legendary warrior Big Breeda. With both mother and child missing, Darkseid has his men create a clone of Big Barda. Little Barda is only six foot two compared to Big Barda's seven feet but possesses the same blue eyes and black hair. She also wields the same weapon – The Mega-Rod – A small mace that can extend into a combat staff and can fire extremely destructive concussive blasts.

"What an Interesting group." says a voice from the shadows, putting everyone on alert.

"Doomsday has come to Apokalips..." says Rorschach emerging from the shadows, "...and He isn't alone."

Little Barda is the first to react firing a blast from her Mega-Rod, which disperses harmlessly off Rorschach's personal shield.

Malice sends her shadow creature to emerge from Rorschach's shadow, but Rorschach merely turns and grabs the "intangible" creature. The creature freezes like a statue, unable to move a nanometer. On his hand is a white glove covered in black Chinese kanji and Malice's eyes widen when she can hear her beast crying in fear.

"Yu Mo Gui Gwai Fai Di Zao! Yu Mo Gui Gwai Fai Di Zao! Yu Mo Gui Gwai Fai Di Zao!"

Chesure screeches despite being unable to move, then its body distorts and scatters into dissolving smoke. Malice cries out in pain as smoke comes out of every orifice in her body, before she collapses unconscious.

"A little protection from the God-Queen of Darkness and Shadows." says Rorschach, "A perfect counter to the late Virman Vundabar's bratty niece."

"Late?" asks Barnadeth, trying to find a solution.

"He's dead. So is your brother. So are a lot of Darkseid's little bitches."

Rorschach drops his shield but appears in front of each of the Furies looking ready to attack. They figure only one of them is real with the rest be holographic doppelgängers, but it still means they all must counterattack since any one of them could be attacked by the real one.

Barnadeth dodges Rorschach's attack and attempts to thrust her burning blade into where she presumes Rorschach's left eye is located under his mask.

Lashina jumps back and lashes out with her electrified whips.

Mad Harriet attempts to pierce her Rorschach's throat and spine with her hand spikes.

Stompa attempts to stomp on Rorschach's leg and follow it with a head crushing blow.

Artemiz leaps back and fires a set of barbed arrows at her Rorschach.

Gillotina dodges Rorschach's blow and slashes at him with hand blade.

Speed Queen stabs at Rorschach with her hidden blades, attempting to impale him a thousand times in less than second.

Bloody Mary vanishes and appears behind Rorschach, attempting to stab him in the back of the head with a glowing purple blade of psychokinetic energy.

Little Barda dodges Rorschach's attack and delivers a blow to the chin with her mace, releasing a concussive blast that she hopes will tear his head off.

Bernadeth's eyes bulge as the superheated blade appears in her brain from a little portal trickery. Her brain is cooked and exploded by the expanding bubble of super-heated steam. She collapses to the ground with steam and blood coming from different parts of her head.

Lashina cries out as she is struck by her own whips and electrocuted despite her immunity to shocks (an immunity that Rorschach disabled before he even spoke).

Mad Harriet's throat is pierced by her own power spikes, and she falls to the ground like a broken marionette due to her damaged spine.

Stompa is surprised when instead of kicking Rorschach's leg, she ends up kicking the back of her own leg knocking her to the ground. She isn't able to get back to her feet fast enough to avoid a stun beam from her Rorschach.

Artemiz's arrows vanish into her Rorschach's body before one arrow pierces her back and the bloody tip emerge from her chest. The damage is severe enough that she collapses to the ground, blood dripping from her mouth. The other arrows find themselves in the bodies of her cybernetic pack, rendering them immobile.

Gillotina cries out as she's hit in back by her own energy field blade, the barrier around her back so weak it doesn't do anything to stop the attack. Her shield collapses to the ground, her platinum blonde hair spread around her.

Speed Queen knew she was in trouble when she first attempted to pierce her target and the blade broke. After ten blades, she attempted to aim at his softer parts, such as where she believed his eyes were located. After a hundred blades, she became desperate. After a thousand blades, she was considering retreating. She then feels the pain of a thousand strikes hitting her nerve clusters and shutting her down.

Blood Mary cries out as her own psychokinetic blade slams into her skull. It's her own psionic energy, so she doesn't take any physical damage from the blade, but all the negative emotion and pain inducement forged in blade returns to her. She is overloaded and rendered unconscious.

Little Barda is sent flying when her concussive energy blast slams into her. She lands and falls unconscious.

The various versions of Rorschach become transparent and blue briefly before they all merge together into a solid single person. He raises his hand and the still living members of Furies (everyone except for Bernadeth with her over-cooked and burst brain) are raised into the air and then lowered into portals.

On the Island of the Amazons, they just got a new delivery. The total population of the mystical island is not an eternal number. While the original Amazons are unageing and free of disease if they live on the island and under the rules of Goddesses, people from around the world have wandered to Themysica. This is the main reason for the island's ethnic diversity.

The new arrivals are female babies.

A chubby brown-haired baby with her feet in the air.

A brown-haired girl in a gold-and-blue onesie playing with a trio of wolf-dog puppies.

A Black-haired baby who looks like she wants to get up and crawl around.

Finally, a red-haired, red-eyed baby whose hiding in her blankets.

In another part of the world, a delivery is also made to Scott and Barda Free.

A little Extra from Earth

Back on Earth.

In a hidden base, stasis pods open and release a group of Apokoliptan Warriors. These warriors were placed on Earth by Darkseid's God scientists to awaken if certain circumstances happened. These warriors were bioengineered using the biodata taken from the fiercest aquatic and amphibious species in the universe. Each incarnation of the team is adapted to oceans of their target world. Their purpose is to perform acts of terror against planets dominated by aquatic and amphibious races. These targets include the Atlanteans, who rule 70% of the planet.

Darkseid's elite aquatic team - The Deep Six – exited the lab. Each one possessing a unique form in addition to their New God physiology and Amphibious Adaptations that make them look like Parademons fused with the Gillman from The Creature from the Black Lagoon.

Gole is the mask-wearing aquatic terrorist whose specialty is generating extreme electrical discharges. He can also sense other living creatures by the electrical activity of their muscles and create electromagnetic pulses to disrupt electrical and electronic devices.

Jaffar is the thick jawed aquatic terrorist whose specialty is biological manipulation. He can use this ability to manipulate the cells of living creatures render targets harmless or killing them. He can also manipulate ambient plants and microbes into a form of organic armor for protection and camouflage. The latter was helped by his body's biological cephalopod-like camouflage.

Pyron is the sleekest of the aquatic terrorist group. Not only is he an expert in driving various vehicles, but he can manipulate ambient gases in both the atmosphere and dissolve in the ocean water to allow decreased drag and create shockwaves. He can also inject gas bubbles into his victims causing them to either collapse from pain, die from an embolism, or literally explode.

Shaligo is the speedster of Deep Six, having a swimmer's build and the ability to move at superhuman speed in both the water and the air with his razor-sharp wings. He's like a hypersonic super-cavitation torpedo underwater creating destructive shockwaves and in the air he's the flying fish from hell.

Slig is the aqua-terrorist wearing a white-and-costume. His special ability is biokinetic ability to create minions. He can cause various aquatic lifeforms to monstrous predatory creatures that he can command to attack and perform simple tasks. He can even turn humans, Atlanteans, and other humanoid species into mutated aquatic hybrids.

Trok is the last member of Deep Six and the weapon-master of the group. Originally, he was the only one without addition superhuman abilities as he was the only one not dependent on their powers. He's been recently upgraded with sonic ability that allows him to create shockwaves with his blades and a sonar ability to sense his prey.

As Deep Six exit their base, they find people waiting for them.

The Order of Megalodon

The Atlantean Knight order composed completely of Shark-man (and some Shark-women) and led by Knight Commander Ash Grey. The Shark men are all showing their smiles filled with rows upon rows of sharp teeth and the terrorists have a sense of impending Doom. This goes beyond the fact they are a six-man super terrorist cell surrounded by a thousand heavily armed shark-headed Atlantean blood knights, this is a sense of dread you get from encountering an otherworldly horror beyond human comprehension.

The source of the impending Doom is when a cute little shark resembling a great white plushie.

SAME.

The incarnation of sharks born from collective unconsciousness of the multiverse. The power of 450 million years of history, the fear and imagination of humanity, and the unison of the Red and the Clean to create an Apex Predator. This cute little shark is in truth the king of badass motherfuckers who can transform into any shark imaginable or unimaginable to unleash death and destruction on anybody stupid enough to annoy him. He works with Ash Grey because the God of Destruction shares an affinity with sharks.

"Kyu?"

Gole attempts to release an electrical shockwave to disrupt the senses of the Knights so his men can escape, but the Ultimate Predatory Sea Devil Level Incalculable senses his actions before he can complete his attack and the jaws of a giant shark snap close on him and pull him into the sea floor. Same can swim anywhere, swimming in solid matter like swimming in the ocean. Gole can't even scream as now fiery Same dives into the depths of magma flow and cremates him.

Jaffar doesn't have a chance to react as Same rams into him, but he does try to his biological manipulation to destroy the shark. His eyes widen in horror when his powers tell him the Shark is both alive and dead and even within strange eons death may die. Instead of mutating Same's cells, his own cells are infected by a shark-based pathogen. His eyes turn white, his flesh turns diseased gray, and he transforms into a hybrid of zombie and shark.

Pyron tries to fly away but finds out his Apokoliptan hovercraft has been bitten in half by a giant shark. He also finds out he's missing his lower body, bitten off so quickly he didn't notice. He cries out producing a lot of bubbles, before the hovercraft violently explodes. It sends a mass of superheated gas bubbles to the surface carrying what remains of terrorist.

Shaligo is swimming away at speeds unimaginable to even Atlanteans. He races to the surface of the ocean at a speed which would cause normal animals to explode from the change in pressure. When Shaligo reaches the surface, he soars high into the sky and glides when he thinks he's safe.

Unfortunately for him, nowhere is safe from manifestation of the apex predators as a downburst slams into him like an inverted tornado. A tornado filled with man-eating sharks that smash him into chum when he hits the ocean surface.

Slig and Trok find themselves in the stomach of an immense shark, devoured hole before they could react. Slig attempts to manipulate the ambient biomatter to help him escape, but everything within the shark only obeys the shark. Trok's axe fails again and again to cut through fleshy walls around him. Soon, they can feel their outer layers dissolve and Trok releases a massive sonic blast in desperation. It liquifies his partner but fails to free him.

Same back in his cute form lets out a burp.

Near the Palace

Factories and buildings are burning and exploding. The planet itself is a giant industrial city dedicated to producing weapons and supplies for Darkseid's conquest. So, any major battle would damage these structures unless it occurred deep in the slums. Today, the Forces of Apokolips are desperate to stop one man that threatens them – Me.

Soldiers are dying faster and faster. My spiked fists shatter bones and pulverize organs with every blow. The Apokoliptan armor of my enemies is some of the most advanced in the galaxy, but my attack power is far beyond its limits. I let my inner monster off its leash, there is nothing on this world I want to protect and countless things I want to destroy. As I continue to speed up, my blows stop sending my opponents flying into walls. Instead, the hypersonic blows tear my opponents to pieces. The sky is blotted out by Parademons flying in the air like a locust swarm and raining down energy blasts, but my fire breathe makes it rain burning ash. They try to swarm me on the ground, trying to use sheer numbers to slow me, but they too are consumed by a sea of flames hot enough to soften the ground beneath them

The most powerful of Apokoliptan War machines, made to destroy the armies of other worlds and intimidate the enslaved populations of those worlds, unleash their attacks. Particle beams that could destroy skyscrapers back on Earth, explosive shells that could pierce the armor of galaxy-class battleships, and missiles loaded with mundane and exotic explosives are fired. It only annoys me and with a roar, the smoke and debris are blown away by a shockwave. My Doom Vision then slices through the extraterrestrial tanks and war robots. There is a microsecond pause between the machines developing superheated radioactive cuts before they violently explode.

I release another roar like a screaming Dragon Ball Z character and release a crimson shockwave from my body. As the shockwave washes over the battlefield, everything disintegrates and explodes from surviving soldiers to the very ground itself. The surrounding buildings and factories collapse into rubble and expanding dust clouds.

I don't stay in the crater, instead I launch myself at my current target who was ordering the soldiers like a General.

Grayven is tall (standing 7'3") and muscular, with violet-hued skin and long, white free-flowing hair. He dons golden battle armor in battle. While he is the youngest of Darkseid's sons, he's in middle ground for appearance as the deceased Kalibak was an ugly ape of a man, while Orion is a rugged man that makes me think Irish Brawler.

Grayven's eyes glow a menacing red before firing red laser-like beams that move at old angles while making the air scream. Both beams strike me and there is a loud screeching sound. As Grayven stops his attack, his eyes widen at me.

Grayven has all the benefits of New God physiology, even possessing the same ultra-dense gray skin as his father. He also possesses the Omega Beams which he inherited from his father and allows him to decimate entire armies with a look.

"The Omega beams have no effect!?" says Grayven in disbelief, before my gray hand grabs him by the face and lifts him into the air. I can hear the New God bones cracking under the pressure of my fingers.

"I am Ash Grey the Doomsday. I am the Indestructible Monster. The One Who Will Stand at the End of All Things." I say, looking deep into Grayven's eyes and seeing the fear in his soul, "The day of my birth was the beginning of the Countdown to your End."

"Stop!" comes a voice that I recognize, but I don't stop. Instead, I increase the pressure and Grayven's skull explodes in my hand. The headless corpse of the third son of Darkseid falls to the ground as his blood and other materials drips from my fist.

"Hello, Orion."

Orion is a six-foot-one athletic God with red eyes and short red hair. He's dressed in a dark-red-and-blue uniform connected to his method of travel – The Astro-Harness. He wears a helmet that hides his face, but he's more attractive than his brothers and my own monstrous form.

"Why?"

Orion is the son born from Darkseid's unwanted marriage to Tigra. When Queen Heggra was killed, Tigra and her child were imprisoned. Later, when Darkseid and Highfather formed a treaty between New Genesis and Apokolips, their children were exchanged. Orion was raised with love by Highfather and Highmother on New Genesis, while Scott Free suffered on Apokolips in Granny's Orphanage until he escaped to Earth (what happened to Tigra is best not thought of).

"Cognito has declared War on Darkseid and the Forces of Apokolips. Unlike New Genesis we are not going to drag this fight out for Eons. Instead, all of Apokolips is going to Die."

Orion has all the advantages of New God physiology, but he also has the power of transformation. Like Gamma mutations, rage can transform him into his "true" monstrous form, so he has spent years training himself to control his emotions. Thanks to a gift from Cognito, he's been able to gain far more control over his transformed state.

Orion suddenly feels his body weaken and he looks up at me in shock. I casually walk over and break the Astro Harness. His flying device must be how he managed to reach Apokolips without the use of the Motherbox summoned Boom Tubes.

"You remember that Gift, the one Metron analyzed to be safe. It works great to suppress your violent other self and can even be linked to your Motherbox. There is even a safety feature that kicks in if the Link is broken. A safety they didn't mention to you. A safety feature that is now preventing you from acting on Grayven's death." I say with a smirk.

I place my bloody hand on his paralyzed shoulder.

"I have seen various versions of you, Orion. In some timelines, you are killed by Darkseid using a time travelling radion bullet and in others, you killed Darkseid and ended up replacing him as Apokolips' tyrant. Let's see what kind of life you can make for yourself without the shadow of Darkseid and Apokolips." I tell Orion, before slapping him into a Cog Portal to New Genesis.

DARKSEID, the Evil New God of Tyranny and supreme ruler of the dark world of Apokolips, sits on his throne. He stands over eight feet tall with grey stone-like skin and red eyes that are currently burning with crimson energy and anger. His massive muscular form is dressed in dark blue-and-black clothing with a dark grey belt illuminated by red circuitry.

Less than twenty-four hours ago, the Boomtubes and Fatherboxes on Apokolips shutdown, and his God scientists have failed to restore them. The only comfort is New Genesis' motherboxes were also failing as well before communications fell. The God Scientists are working desperately to get operations back, especially since Darkseid has already hit the lowest rank with the Omega Sanction – trapping the person in a pocket dimension where they live an infinite number of increasingly horrific deaths.

He detected destruction across Apokolips with his muted divine senses, the souls of New Gods being wiped from existence and reports of destruction. He suspects it's Cognito because they recently declared war and they are the only people with the resources and balls to attack Apokolips. He has heard the warnings from his minions about Cognito's "Death and Rebirth".

Doctor Genus – A mysterious scientist whose intellect surpasses the greatest of God Scientists. A man whose mastery of science and technology allowed him to bend an entire planet to his will. He restored the planet's environment and helped the people reach a higher tier of civilization. Every accomplishment by the Light was overturned and used by him, even recruiting an army of superpowered beings from across the Multiverse to become his Pro-Heroes. Doctor Genus' military power was only revealed when he defeated the armada of the extradimensional Brainiac.

Ash Grey the Doomsday – an indestructible monster born from an experiment by the Light. The fusion of a hybrid clone of the Kryptonian Kal-El, the Light member Lex Luthor, and a Kryptonian virus. He was thought to merely be a failed Cadmus Project, but he possessed an otherworldly soul possessing vast amounts of knowledge, which he freely gave to the Justice League exposed the Light's secrets. After a trip to the Infernal planes, the demons were killed and consumed by his incarnation Obsidian Black. Since then, every adventure has only increased his immunity to everything and increased his destructive power.

Darkseid's musings are interrupted by a knock at the throne room's massive doors. This makes everyone in the room raise their eyebrows as, who has the politeness to knock on this planet? The answer is revealed when a punch sends the heavy metal doors flying off their hinges to land on top of an advisor. As the advisor is crushed by the door, a man standing over eight feet tall with ash grey skin, numerous white bone spikes, and glowing red eyes casually walks in. Two heavily armored royal guards attempt to stop the man, but the man casually swipes at them with his arms and takes off both their heads with one move. The man then fires crimson beams from his eyes slaughtering the remaining Royal guards and the God Scientists, while the advisor dies under the metal door.

"Final Boss sitting on his throne. This really does feel like a video game on Easy Mode." says Ash Grey the Doomsday.

I walk towards Darkseid. If I wasn't an immortal and indestructible monster, I would be terrified of getting anywhere near of the God of Tyranny and his Omega Effect.

"You are Ash Grey the Doomsday. Cadmus's mistake."

"And you are Darkseid, formerly Uxas son of Yuga Kahn and Heggra."

"The reason?"

"For coming to Apokolips? To Destroy Your Empire. For coming to your Throne? To Destroy You."

"Many have tried, and all have died." says the Dark Lord as his eyes glow brighter, indicating his rage despite his stone-cold emotionless face.

"Do or do not, there is no try. Cognito does what other people cannot." I say, mocking the evil god and quoting Yoda (what the fuck am I doing?), "You've been conquering for several hundred thousand years, and it takes less than a day for Cognito to crush your Empire. Every colony. Every Base. Every Factory beyond this planet's surface – Gone!"

Darkseid unleashes his Omega Beams from his eyes. These beams must be the most powerful beams he has ever generated as the red laser-like beams crackle with energy, making the room's atmosphere thunder as they travel their chaotic paths before slamming into their target. There is a loud screeching sound, which reminds me of the Imagine Breaker. While the beam attack creates a shockwave that creates a crater into the floors and cracks the walls, it doesn't harm me. It does destroy part of my clothing, leaving me topless.

Noticing Darkseid's widened eyes, I'm quick to explain.

"Cognito plans for everything. This includes making me immune to the Omega." I say as I tense my legs, I can feel power surging in my limbs and the air shimmers with my aura. "Your end began with the Central Finite Curve. It severed you from the original multiverse. There is only one Darkseid in Doctor Genus' multiverse and soon there will be none."

A charge at Darkseid, smashing him through his throne and completely obliterating it. We travel through several walls until we are outside the palace. Darkseid lands on his feet in the slums of Apokolips, but he does leave burning trails in the ground with his feet. I land in front of him and continue my attack. Darkseid is incredibly powerful, so I can't liquify him like I can a human. In some ways it's like fighting a Humanoid Abomination. At first, I'm just throwing spiked punches that crack his gray hide and spill his divine blood across the dirty streets. Streets which are stained by more blood as buildings collapse from our battle.

Darkseid continues to unleash more and more of his power to counter my overwhelming monstrous strength. This level of power was limited to prevent him from destroying Apokolips as you don't want to risk destroying the lands you rule. The unleashed power causes the planet's hot atmosphere to darken and triggers massive earthquakes. I can sense the remaining population of Apokolips cowering before the might of a New God unleashed.

I'm not impressed. The comic Darkseid could fly across the universe at absurd speeds and survived a bomb that could rip apart existence. The death of that version of Darkseid nearly collapsed reality. The Young Justice version of Darkseid even in his awakened form is Nerfed to the Nth Degree.

"Doctor Genus implanted new laws into this multiverse." I comment as I slam my fist into Darkseid's stomach and create another blast wave. This wave collapses the nearby buildings and factories, killing thousands of Apokoliptan citizens and mindless slaves as Darkseid is sent into the air.

"He took away your Anti-Life Equation." I say to Darkseid before I slam my fists into his back and send him back to the surface like a meteorite. Darkseid creates another crater and bounces off the ground. He doesn't get a chance to reorient himself, because I land next to him using my flight ring.

My entire body radiating destructive power, I deliver a Plus Ultra Punch that folds the dark God like a lawn chair. There is a blinding light from the impact like the birth of a star, before Darkseid's massive body shoots away like an ugly missile. Darkseid smashes through half a dozen factories on his way to the upper atmosphere.

Using a Cog Portal, I appear in Darkseid's flight path which has slowed slightly from the impacts and air resistance.

I grabbed Darkseid by the face, cracking the stone-like skin of his grey face. Darkseid isn't decapitated, but the sudden stop twists his spine enough to stun his Awakened New God nervous system. He's left hanging with me holding his face.

"We have taken away your Fatherboxes and Boomtubes. Broken your communications. Taking away your armies and weapons. Taking away your soldiers and your sons!"

Darkseid unleashes Omega Beams at point blank range. It's not enough to pierce my hand, but it does create enough force to rip his face from my iron grip. Darkseid falls to the surface of the planet, tearing through anything his path such as power lines, pipes, and vehicles. He lands near one of the Fire Pits. He's still recovering from the spinal trauma, so he can only watch as the wretched slaves of Apokolips approach him as he bleeds from where my claws gripped him.

As I land, the assembled crowd all turn to ash from my very presence, the metal structures around us decaying and burning at the same time. I look down at the fallen tyrant with a smirk, showing my shark teeth.

"What is a God of Tyranny without any servants? Without conquests?" I mock, letting the god know how helpless he is. "Cognito could have destroyed your world at any time, but The Gamer wanted me to get my hands dirty. Dirty with the blood of tyrants!"

In response, Darkseid fires his Omega Beams at my eyes, intending to inflict harm with the concentrated beams or at least momentarily blind me. I counter with my Doom vision and the two sets of beams struggle against each other. Then, my Doom Vision overwhelms the weakened Omega beams and Darkseid roars as his eyes are destroyed, and he's left with a vaguely omega-shaped burn on his face.

"I am the incarnation of Qliphoth. The darkness and evil you cultivated on this world is merely fertilizer for the tree." I say summoning a weapon. It's a massive weapon that looks like it should be mounted on a space-faring battleship instead of over my shoulder. "I don't normally use weapons beyond my own bone blades, but everyone I know and care about wanted to help me get rid of the worst Tyrant in the multiverse."

This massive God Killing BFG reminds me of Iron Man's Proton Cannon from Marvel Super Heroes (and used by Gaelik's Chuck Norris in MUGEN). It was constructed by Neo/Doctor Genus' super genius mind using his most advanced technology, based on a design for Tamaranean Cannon donated by Starfire and Blackfire. Its MagiTech was made with the help of his two Goddesses – Raven and Jade - with a little help from Cyanea and Nzombi. It PsiTech was perfected with the help of Priss and Max, and even Klarion the Witch Boy donated "a little chaos" to ruin Darkseid's plans for Universal Order.

"God of Tyranny, your Doom has Come!" I say, knowing it sounds so campy and cringe.

Darkseid becomes a blur of motion, having recovered enough with his divine power to move, but it's already too late. The attack hits him before I even pull the trigger, having travelled through time and space to hit the target with absolute precision. He's illuminated by a white light that makes the tyrant new god's body glow brightly. This light is billions of microscopic portals delivering Radion bombs the size of mitochondria to every cell in Darkseid's body. Even a New God who survived the Omega Effect can't survive and his physical form is destroyed. Thanks to Kitaen sisters, Darkseid's astral self – his psychic self – is torn to pieces as the physical shrapnel inflicts psychic damage. As for Darkseid's New God soul, a microverse appears in its inner world before expanding. While Trigon's soul was exploded by a universe filled with Heaven's light, Darkseid's soul-shattering universe is filled with the God Wind that washes away all magic and divinity.

In a fraction of a second, Darkseid's body is teleported to the core of Apokolips, while Ash is portal-ed back to Cognito. The planet shakes as the expanding microverse destroys the core of the planet and continues to grow. The firepits release planet-burning plasma as the fires of creation consume the planet from the inside out, cleansing magic and divinity from everything on the planet.

The People of New Genesis watch as the cloaked Cog satellites in orbit of the glowing Apokolips create a massive portal. In the pocket dimension, Apokolips explodes with the power of a miniature big bang, annihilating any trace of the dark world.

Party Time

It's Party Time.

Darkseid the Final Boss of the DC Universe is Dead and armies of Apokolips have been decimated by Cognito Forces. On various worlds, the formerly enslaved populations are celebrating their freedom. Depending on the culture of each planet and how damaged they were from their invaders, these parties range from simply drinking together with tears in their eyes to full blown celebrations with decorations, music, food, and a lot of sex. Some even have parades about sex as decimated worlds endeavor to restore devastated populations.

Worlds that faced destruction at the hands of Darkseid look at Cognito with a combination of Fear and Awe. The Cognito company has grown powerful enough to surpass the armies of entire planets, including the obscenely large armies of Apokolips. Apokolips was a Ecumenopolis (planet-wide city) of factories dedicated solely to produce weapons of wars, but they were completely overwhelmed (and outsmarted) by Cognito. The planets that weren't allied with Cognito before the short Apokolips-Cognito War are now allying with Cognito knowing they wouldn't stand a chance in any sort of conflict.

On New Genesis, the New Gods are in shock. Apokolips was the dark twin of New Genesis that has existed since the birth of both planets and the New Gods. They have spent literally thousands of years fighting against Apokolips, barely stopping Darkseid and Yuga Kahn. Now, the entire planet of Apokolips has been destroyed, wiped from the universe, and they are having trouble understanding. There are some that are loudly celebrating, many are drinking heavily, and most are wondering what will happen next. The people of New Genesis have been fighting against their enemy for so long, they can't conceive of never fighting against them again.

In the medical tower on New Genesis, Orion is lost in thought. He doesn't know his purpose anymore. He hated his biological half-brothers, they were tyrannical war mongers and chips off Darkseid, but he's still disturbed at how easily they were killed. He - the unwanted child - was given to New Genesis and he grew up to hate his father – the God of Tyranny, but now all those chains are broken and he's left to drift without a destiny. He's also upset he was so casually defeated with a fight on Apokolips' surface and tossed back to New Genesis.

"The conflict between the Empire of Apokolips and the Forces of Cognito Inc has ended with Cog's Victory. The dark planet of the New God of Tyranny Darkseid has been annihilated along with its master and tens of thousands of worlds are now free. Celebrations have begun on multiple worlds and additional celebrations will begin soon!"

A 3D animated version of Weird Science Rick walks onscreen. While he's still wearing his lab coat, underneath he's wearing a loud Hawaiian shirt, baggy shorts, and sandals.

"Hello everyone! It's Weird Science Rick! The alien tyrant Darkseid is History and every world that he controlled or attacked is celebrating. Kind of like at the end of the original Star Wars films. It's like a galaxy-wide Mardi Gras and Cognito Vacations is ready to let you experience the madness. You can either travel to these worlds and party with the locals thanks to Cog Spacebridges or you can connect to Surrogate telepresence androids on those worlds using the Amusphere and experience it from the safety of your homes."

The camera pans out to reveal that Weird Science Rick is standing on the wreck of an Apokoliptan ship, half buried in a tropical desert island, which is now covered in so many party decorations it looks like a parade float. There are tens of thousands of people dancing, both human and extraterrestrial, with a copious number of drinks and luxury foods. While most of them are wearing vacation clothing or swimsuits, some of them are naked but censored by black bars.

The employees of Cognito Inc are celebrating a successful operation.

In less than a day, they succeeded in what no one in tens of thousands of years has accomplished. They have permanently taken down Darkseid's Empire. Every Parademon and Major Apokoliptan soldier is dead. Every sizable slave population is freed, and their enslavers executed. Every major puppet government on every major world toppled and every major factory that supplied the dark army shut down.

Doctor Genus has always been generous with his salaries, employment benefits, and rewards, but after the War everyone got a bonus with the major contributors getting a permanent raise. The celebrations are getting wild in some places going beyond drinking to logging into the R18 Amusphere for wild sex without worrying about their real-world reputation.

Doctor Genus' Elite Team consisting of Rorschach, Ash Grey, and Ash's Wives are not at the Cognito buildings. Instead, Ash Grey has decided to celebrate with his wives. He can enjoy gourmet/decadent meals and loud music at any time. He's not a big fan of alcohol or socializing with crowds. He is a big fan of his very beautiful and very powerful women, and if he's going to test the durability of Cog Furniture, he would rather do it as his own home. Rorschach decided to follow Ash's example with his beloved Queen Maxima and nobody at Cog could blame them. Alexander Armstrong, after finishing his commercial partied with his wife Kara Zor-El and his steady girlfriend Tali'Zorah nar Outer Heaven. Though possessed of the weakest overall combat powers of all of Neo's incarnations, the Charisma to lead a universe free of Darkseid toward future happiness, would become the new gold standard in "power".

As for Doctor Genus, he has set his computers to plan for the restoration of the worlds ruined by Darkseid's rule. Darkseid tended to enslave the populations of planets, either converting them into Parademons or using them in his factories to produce more weapons and supplies for his expansion. These factories didn't care about the environment and in some cases the planets were nearly reduced to lifeless husks. Doctor Genus always did like a challenge. As for Doctor Genus himself, he is spending time with his new wife and daughter using their private Amusphere network. Though the "origin" he fed to Lois Lane and the Daily Planet about a daughter dying to an "unknown illness" had been a complete and utter farce, the feelings that the first Project Phoenix Resurrected had for the White Priestess of the Fount and the White Priestess Descendant, were no fallacy.

"The celebrations have calmed down, but they are still going on." says Batman drinking his coffee at the meeting table.

"Cognito and our extraterrestrial immigrants have been partying nonstop!" says Flash, "Even in my hometown, things are wilder than Andrew W.K. concert. The kids are even picking up on the excitement."

"Darkseid was feared across the known universe and for good reasons." says Hawkwoman, "Earth was inhabited by thousands of refugees from worlds conquered or destroyed by Darkseid and his allies. Learning that that monster is dead, and his empire is annihilated, they can't help but celebrate. I've received reports from Thanagar that there are similar celebrations on other worlds."

Cognito Communications allowed FTL communications between all the allied world, so Martian Manhunter and the Hawk couple can get information from their home world as easily as a human could use a smartphone. Even the refugee camps in Thanagar territory are celebrating the downfall of Darkseid.

"Cognito's Influence has increased yet again." says Batman with a frown, "They proved they were a military power when they defeated Brainiac's force, but now that brought down one of the most powerful empires in the history of the universe... in a day!"

"Earth has changed from a primitive mudball in the boonies of the universe." says Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), "Opinions started to change when Earth started to producing an abnormal number of Lanterns, this is before Earth produced every color of rainbow. Now, Earth is a superpower capable of changing the fate of galaxies."

"That's not necessarily a good thing, Lantern." replies Batman.

Suddenly, there is a beeping and the Justice League look confused, before Superman pulls out his phone.

"Sorry, I thought I set it to vibrate." says Supes.

"Problem?" asks Batman as the Man of Steel's eyes widen.

"Kara is pregnant." says a stunned Superman.

The Light

The Light was founded by Vandal Savage. Its current incarnation, a council comprised of self-proclaimed enlightened members whose primary goal is to precipitate mankind's next evolutionary step, thus placing it on the center stage of the cosmos. This goal was originally supposed to be achieved by an alliance with Darkseid due to Vandal's meeting with the tyrant back when he was Genghis Kahn. Instead, Cognito Inc rose and changed everything.

Humanity has evolved, but it wasn't due to The Light's machinations. Instead, humanity has evolved thanks to Cog's actions. Metahumans awoke because Rorschach defeated the Dragons. The Otherworldly Heroes gained a purpose under Cognito's policies. Techno-Organics, Cyborgs, Gargoyles, and any other SPB project developed by the Cadmus research labs became the property of Cog scientists. Even Brainiac's invasion and the birth of a new cyber universe only served to make Cognito stronger.

The Light's power has been overwhelmed at every point – science, magic, politics, spiritual, etc.

"Sometimes I wonder why we even bother." says Lex Luthor, "Cognito is doing a far better job than us and has better PR doing it."

"The Light's purpose was to elevate humanity so it could compete on a universal stage. Cognito has made our job far easier." says Vandal Savage, sounding more positive than his comrade.

"You're not upset that Darkseid and his resources are dead?" asks Ra's.

"No. While Apokolips resources were useful, they are no longer needed. Earth has the military might to defend itself and expand out into the universe, and it has the resources to evolve itself to handle the change." says Vandal Savage, beginning to smile, "Also, despite our partnership, Darkseid and me were competitors. Even if we conquered the universe, I would have been hard pressed to defeat him. Now, I have won without doing a thing."

"Do you believe Cognito will allow you to become the ruler of everything?"

"Cognito didn't deny I could become the ruler of everything, they just said even if I did, I would still be listening to their wisdom. Swallowing my pride in exchange for the universe? I can agree with that."

*Beep*

Ra's al Ghul pulls out his smartphone and looks at the message smiling.

Vandal raises his eyebrow as if to ask what the call is about.

"Talia sent pictures of Damian at a Cog Party." says Ra's. On his phone is a picture of little Damian Wayne dressed in a Batman T-shirt with a grumpy face, as if he was imitating his father's trademark scowl. "Thankfully, this is a children's party instead of one of the wilder parties going on."

Vandal wonders when was the last time he was so excited about his children. He must admit he doesn't have many baby pictures of his numerous children, this being mostly due to photography only having existing since the first permanent photoetching was an image produced in 1822 by the French inventor Nicéphore Niépce. Portraits were nice, but before the advent of climate control, preserving older media long-term was almost impossible.

*Beep*

Lex Luthor pulls out his own phone and winces.

"My daughter tossed her bottle at the nanny robot, and it shorted out. My wife is telling me to buy a Cognito robot since I don't bother to do quality tests on my own company creations."

"Constructing a robot meant to deal with small, squirming underdeveloped organics and not adding protection against water damage is foolish. Humans are over 70% water and water is found in all secretions and waste materials." says Shockwave.

"I do have to check quality control. This embarrassing." says Lex, making a note. This wouldn't happen with any of his war machines. They don't breakdown if they cross water, get rained on, or run over unfortunate soldiers (or civilians). So, why are his civvies consumer robots such useless junk? Did they take one look at Cog's lovable robots and give up! "I should have outsourced to Japan."

*Beep*

Queen Bee pulls out her phone as Vandal wonders if anyone remembered to set their phones to vibrate.

"It's Adam." says Queen Bee, referring to her husband Teth-Adam/Black Adam. "He has the powers of the Egyptian Gods, yet he has problems with handling the kids."

"Don't you have the best babysitters money can buy?" asks Vandal.

"She should. She stole them from me." says Lex.

"You should have offered them more vacation time." says Queen taking a jab at Lex, "I did have the best until the Gods blessed our children. One little lightning bolt and most of them quit. "

She says the last part as if quitting because the baby can throw white lightning bolts is the same as a baby throwing its dirty diaper at its sitter.

"Most?"

Black Manta pulls out his phone and Vandal wonders if he should grab a cup of coffee and wait for the calls to be over. Black Manta takes one look at the screen, then palms his face in embarrassment.

"What is it?" says Vandal almost resigned.

"My base was discovered by the Order of the Megalodon... again!"

"Third time in a month. Maybe you should stop making oceanic bases."

"My men are thankfully OK. The Knights were apparently drunk from the Cog Celebrations and decided to let my men go if they celebrated with them." says Black Manta, "Now I must deal with a base full of drunk pirates. The last time this shit happened, I got the Pirates of the Carribean soundtrack stuck on every computer terminal in a perpetual loop."

*Beep*

Vandal Stares as Shockwave's phone goes off. He didn't even know that the Decepticon had a Phone, since most of his technology is built into his monstrous Cybertronian body.

Shockwave looks at the files with a cold, calculating, emotionless face – easy when your head is a cycloptic computer. The silence stretches for several minutes, then Vandal asks.

"What is the call about!?"

"Some interesting research. Cognito has introduced a new form of liquid energon that is capable of inducing intoxication in cybertronians and techno-organic lifeforms. It wasn't supposed to be released until next year, but samples were released during the celebrations. I may acquire samples... for research purposes."

"..."

*Beep*

The image of Klarion fades away to reveal Teekl at the Light council seat. Somehow the feline familiar is wobbling as if drunk and meows.

"Where is Klarion!?"

Teekl somehow pulls out a phone from a warp in unreality. Looking at the warp causes everyone a headache and even burns out a circuit in Shockwave's head. The image on the smartphone appears on the display screens.

Klarion is seen dancing with a crowd of humans and extraterrestrials. He's half naked with his upper body painted with eldritch symbols and colorful beads wrapped around his wrists and neck. It's clear he's not in a proper state of mind; not that Klarion a Lord of Chaos ever had one. In the background, the party is an extreme one with drinking, drugs, and orgies. Some of them are even stained with small amounts of blood and laughing at their injuries. The Gotham Hedonist Society would be embarrassed by the vastly superior party.

"Is there a rehab for Cosmic Horrors?"

"Ask Cog."

"I'm afraid they'll say 'yes'."

Doctor Antoine "Anton" Bartholomew Sevarius. A brilliant, megalomaniacal, and immoral geneticist from the world of Gargoyles. A monster who created clones as weapons for the rich, viruses for a genocidal she-gargoyle, and mutated innocent people into animal chimera. Years ago, this mad genius found a Fragment of the Red Sky – a piece of a Lovecraftian Horror that elevated him into a super-genius with otherworldly knowledge. He used his new found knowledge to escape his dimension to other dimensions and eventually crafted a pocket dimension filled with his vast army of Cyber-Demons – techno-organic enhanced Gargoyles.

He's been observing the Fall of Darkseid from his palace and the celebrations, contemplating what it means to him and his plans.

Suddenly, a black cube appears in his throne room. It's a perfect one-meter by one-meter by one-meter solid black cube with perfectly smooth sides. As Dr. Sevarius watches, images of flowing white blobs appear on the surface of the cube making it look like an oddly shaped Lava lamp. The white blobs come together to form oval symmetrical patterns, which become the face of Rorschach. Rorschach speaks a simple sentence.

"You didn't think I forgot you, did you?"

The black cube opens to reveal a white light, which expands outward consuming the cube. Doctor Sevarius has time to panic, before the light consumes him as well. The light's expansion accelerates as it grows. It takes less than a second to consume the throne room, than less than a second to consume the palace, and then the entire planet is consumed. It expands at speeds faster than light and soon the entire pocket dimension is filled with white light. The entire dimension then collapses.
