Prologue 2: Cassius Blank.
Deep withing the slums of Solario(sun kingdom) two men, dressed in armor, and holding spears, stood in front of a small shack, merely dozing off, when they both woke up in a cold sweat, feeling a certain someone's return.
They both just stood there, not daring to speak as the shadows shifted, and Cassius arrived, a small bag dripping with blood in his hand.
The two guards wordlessly opened the door, letting the hooded, purple-eyed boy in, fear clear in their eyes, which were promptly ignored by Cassius, who went into the shack, the bag still dripping with blood.
Inside the shack, it was nothing special, a bed, a table, a lantern, and a bookshelf.
walking up to the doorcase, his shadows emerged from the ground, running across the ornate carvings of the bookshelf, pressing the one shaped like a star, which promptly moved the whole thing to the side, letting him descend down the staircase to belowground.
as he walked through the halls, the guards all tensed around him, sensing his dark, threatening presence, his feet moving slowly, and deliberately, like a beast that would lash out at anyone who approached him.
Arriving at his destination, an ornate, large door made of silver and gold. He knocked, and he heard a shrill, high pitch voice speak.
"come in" the female voice said, as he opened the door, coming across a familiar disgusting sight.
There, in front of a large table filled with food and drink, was a woman equivalent in size to a whale, her hair white, and her mouth stuffed in food and drink, wearing an expensive dress, which clearly didn't fit her, she offered him a glance, but nothing more as she continued gorging herself.
"Ish it dum?" she asked, her face filled with food. "the merchant is dead, mother" Cassius spoke, his voice emotionless and cold, as he threw the bloody bag to his mother, the head of a man rolling out of it. "good boy" she said, a smirk on her face, before she went back to wolfing the food "get rid of that, would you?" she asked, and Cassius instantly replied, throwing the head away, where it was promptly used as a meal for the two dogs nearby, the large, obviously expensive breeds attacking the severed head, playing with and biting it.
"Sit" she ordered, and Cassius sat on the chair in front of him, which was the chair. "you get to have extra for doing a good job" She said, as she snapped her fingers, ordering one of the servants to place a plate in front of him. "but no meat, or else no dinner, understood?" she asked, and he nodded wordlessly, reeaching out with his shadows to the soup, and some fried, which he slowly began to eat, not saying a word as he quietly grabbed the spoon, and ate the soup, the only noise being that of his mother devouring all the food in front of her.
Once finished, Cassius sat on the chair silently, as if awaiting something.
"I'm done" his mother said "do the usual" she ordered, and he nodded, making his shadows carry her to the bathroom, and clean her, from bathing, to everything else, when it was done, she came out of the bathroom, dressed in her red, jeweled nightgown.
Slowly walking through the halls, Cassius carried his mother with him using his shadows, before he got to a white metal door, which was obviously made to hold something in.
pulling out the key, Cassius's mother opened the door. "get in" she ordered, and her son obediently nodded, getting into the room, before he felt the familiar feeling of the chains around his limbs, and the collar around his neck.
"Light" she spoke and the room lit up, the lights brighter than any other, painting the room in a white glow, Cassius not moving as he heard the door close behind him, indicating that his mother had left.
He huddled into the corner, the chains on his body making it uncomfortable to do anything else, deprived of any form of darkness, his powers were useless, and he did nothing but sit there, the bright light almost blinding him as he desperately closed his eyes, trying to get a lick of sleep.
but, he was smiling, remembering a certain someone, someone who made him feel peace, despite him only just meeting her.
"Soleil" he muttered, remembering the golden-eyed, blonde princess he saved, how she made him feel calm and safe, despite them not knowing each other for more than an hour.
"Soleil..." he whispered, his eyes closing as he fell asleep, chains on his body, and lights brighter than the sun, depriving him of his shadows.
"Soleil..."
