Notes: This chapter will start after Season 3 Episode 23: Ladybug, where Marinette is almost akumatized due to Lila's lies that almost had her expelled from school. But Marinette got suspended after that episode. Also the chapters aren't edited yet so there will be grammar mistakes. Two Chapters will be uploaded and the next chapters will be uploaded according to my free schedule (The uploads will take time so I'm sorry in advance!). I will post this soon on AO3 as well. Chapter 1: The Sudden Arrival(Unedited)

"My little girl, come here."

A little girl wearing a simple pink dress with white round collar turned around in the huge majestic garden and saw the noble old lady holding a pale white flower in her hand. She gasped and grinned at what she saw. The little girl walked to the old woman happily.

"What do you know about the magnolia flower in my hand?" The old woman smiled. She knows that this was one of her favorite flowers after all. "Can you tell me, my little girl?"

"It's my favorite flower!"

The old woman smiled warmly. "No, darling. Didn't I give you the book of flowers before? Now, tell me what you learned about this flower."

The little girl touched the flowers as she pouted cutely. "The magnolia flowers were of nobility and purity. They were appreciated way back in ancient times by Emperors and royalty in China. They were especially rare as well before!"

"That's right," The old woman agreed. "But did you know this flower represents the feminine beauty? Their elegance and purity of their beauty were often described as of magnolia. They are also a symbol of luck."

"Wow!" The child was in awe. "Grandmother, do you think my beauty is also like the magnolia?"

The old elegant woman chuckled and tapped a bit of the child's chubby white cheeks. The little girl giggled at the soft touch. "My little girl, your beauty is better than the flower itself. You don't need to compare yourself to a flower, neither another person or a thing. You are precious the way you are."

"Grandmother, will I be like you someday?" The child asked.

"Someday… Someday, my child. You will not be like me, but better than me."

KRING! KRING!

The sound of alarm woke Marinette up from her dream. It's been many years since she dreamed something about her past. It was warm and something she almost forgot for a long time. She only remembered a bit of her maternal grandmother. The last time she last saw her was when she was 7 years old.

"Marinette? Are you okay?" Tikki asked her holder worriedly. "You mumbled a lot in your sleep this time. Was it a nightmare?"

"Marinette," Tikki called out to her once again. "If there's anything you need, I can help you."

Marinette smiled awry at them. "It was a distant memory of my childhood. It's not a nightmare, don't worry."

"What kind of memory made you dream like that?" Tikki asked. Marinette sat on her bed a little dazed from sleep.

"It was my grandmother."

"The one who visits here sometimes?" Tikki asked immediately.

"Not her. But my mother's mother. She's living in China and it's been many years since we had contact with each other except for letters and presents on my birthdays and other occasions."

"Weren't you visiting your great uncle last time when we last went to China? How come we didn't see her and just pictures?" Tikki wondered. They went to China last time but she didn't notice a glimpse of the supposed maternal grandmother of her holder.

"She doesn't live in Shanghai, but in Beijing. The last letter I received from her. She knew I went to China on my own and felt ashamed that she wasn't able to see me due to her busy schedule."

Tikki is confused about this. "How can someone old be busy? Shouldn't they be enjoying their retirement days as what you humans call it?"

Marinette didn't know how to reply.

Tikki is smart about her grandmother's busy schedule and the nature of work she's doing. She knows nothing about her maternal grandma and she vaguely knows a bit of how much some of her presents cost as well and some of them look like a customized fashion collection. Last year's Christmas, she received 66,666 euros as lucky money from her maternal grandmother along with a designer winter collection which she saw from last year's Paris Fashion Week best lineup from a certain designer. She saved the money given to her and half of the money was used for her future projects.

If she remembered correctly, her grandmother called her mother last night after knowing of her almost expulsion at the school she's attending. She still remembers the slight paleness of her mother while she listened to the other party on the phone. Her father sat on the dining table looking at his glass of water in daze that night.

"Wait- My grandmother will be here today… Oh no! Mon Dieu!" She gasped in realization. Almost internally screaming inside as she remembered it. "Tikki! I have to get ready! She'll arrive soon in Paris today!"

"Was it because of the trouble at school?" Tikki asked.

Marinette nodded weakly as she clumsily got to her closet and picked out the clothes to wear. She scrambled closer to the hidden compartment where the clothes her Chinese grandmother gave to her as presents.

She took the most recent ones: the clothes from the designer spring collection clothing from her birthday present this year, the 'simple' fringe necklace decorated of diamond looking gems that seems to make her think thrice of its price, the chinese flats that look handmade by an excellent craftsman due to it's excellent embroidery. Everything her grandmother gave her will make Chloe, a rich girl who was raised in a golden spoon, put to shame.

She thought that her grandmother might want to see her in the gifts she sent to her since childhood even if the reason for the sudden visit was because of school trouble recently.

"Marinette! Are you up? I prepared breakfast!" Sabine called her daughter while scooping some warm chicken porridge to a bowl for her daughter. Her husband was already at the dining table eating his usual breakfast of croissants with with a cup of hot coffee.

"I'm up, Maman! I'll be down soon!" Marinette replied while washing her face and changing her pajamas to the clothes she picked. "How do I look?"

"You're pretty, Marinette! How about putting your hair up in a bun?" Tikki suggested. Marinette did what Tikki told her and fixed her hair up to a bun like she did before.

"Now?"

"Perfect!" Tikki answered gleefully.

Marinette took her purse bag and motioned for Tikki to enter it. After securing her purse and bag, Marinette left her bedroom and greeted her parents in the dining area.

"Good morning, Maman and Papa."

She kissed both of them on their cheeks and her mother gave her a spoon for her porridge to eat with. Marinette saw that the breakfast today was purely Chinese and there's no spot for the usual western breakfast she's accustomed to have in her mornings. Aside from porridge and dumplings, there are some meat buns, soy milk, and tea eggs on the table.

She sat on her chair and started eating her porridge while drinking her mother's homemade soy milk that she only gets to drink twice a month. "Maman, what time would grandmother arrive today?"

Sabine sighed at her daughter's question. "She already arrived early this morning."

"I thought she'll arrive a little later? Isn't she too fast?"

"She was in Moscow last night, darling. I bet she was there with her busy duties."

"Are we leaving now?"

Sabine and Tom looked at each other. Their daughter fortunately doesn't know how strained their relationship with Sabine's mother since their daughter turned seven years old. But she'll know in time. This huge disagreement between the elders for the child made things worse that's why they moved to Paris to give Marinette a normal life she deserves to have.

"Marinette, you'll be the only one meeting her. Can you do it?" Tom asked their daughter. "She won't meet us except you, her only granddaughter."

"Why? Can't you go with me?"

The two shook their heads and sadly smiled. Sabine held her daughter's hand softly. "Don't worry, darling. Your grandma doesn't bite. She might break you to tears with her realistic views in life but she cares a lot about you. I have a fair share of those moments when I was young."

"How do you know, Maman?"

"She loves you more than anything in this world."
