...

The sun rises above the horizon, hovering and overlooking the wide and lively city below it, as the clouds began to make a way for the luminescent object above to shone it's light and covering the darkness below.

An eager student can be seen running forward, crossing the streets with excitement, but that was short-lived.

Two monsters came down from above, cornering and towering above the adolescent teenager, radiating a menacing aura.

His head tilted between two of the monsters, before a surge of electricity sparkled around his body, dancing and spreading, much to the monster's confusion.

They weren't terrified by the display, per se, rather, it was curiousity that held them back from making the first movement.

The teen knew he had no chance to win this fight, but a hero-in-training never backs down from a challenge.

But then...

A hand found itself drilling through the monster, emerging out of it's chest. The hand subsequently moved downwards, splitting the creature in half and making it explode and tainting the street with it's liquefied intestines.

The other monster was startled by this, swinging it's fist out of the impulse to get rid of the mysterious assailant, only for him to backhand the creature, decapitating it's head from it's place.

When the creature collapsed into the ground, forming a pool of blood below the carcass, the man made a move and approached the boy, "A UA student, hm?"

"Who...?" The teen asked with a shaky voice. He was understandably scared, after the horrendous sight that he had just seen. He never seen such a man operating with such brutal method when it comes to executing monsters.

The man had a simple attire, a black shirt and white pants, accompanied by a pair of tai chi slippers. His hair was his most prominent feature, each spike protruding to different directions.

"That some kind of book you're reading?" The man asked, his brow raised.

"You haven't answered my question." The teen insisted, clutching the book to his chest.

"Eh, I'm just a concerned pedestrian, nothing more."

"You killed those monsters in cold blood."

"They were going to kill you, it's fair if I attempt to do the same." The man shrugged, "Anyway, if you really want to know that badly, my name's..." The man hesitated for a second, before answering, "Goro. My name's Goro." 'Goro' replied.

The teen tried to calm himself, breathing deep in and out, before exhaling the air from his throat, feeling a reel of relief, "Sorry, I was just..startled, mister. Thanks, for saving me. I didn't know if I was going to make it or not."

"Should probably bring in some kind of communicator next time, maybe a phone, instead of trying to take those monsters head on." 'Goro' suggested, "These streets are dangerous for a teenager like you to wander around without an adult supervision."

"It's fine, really, mister.."

"It's really not."

The teen decided to change the subject, "Anyway, you said something about my book?"

"Yeah. Caught my interest, the title. 'Hero encyclopedia'? You sound like a nerd." 'Goro's' lips curled into an amused smile.

"I can show you a few stuff from it."

"Really? Don't you have somewhere to be?" 'Goro' asked with concern.

"It's fine, I just wanna return you the favour, since you saved me. You looked very curious."

Goro squinted his eyes, before nodding, "Heh, fine. Thanks. Let's sit on that bench."

As they approached the bench near a park, the teen opened the book, revealing the name of the author at the beginning of the page.

"You haven't told me your name yet, kid." 'Goro' asked.

"Oh, sorry, I haven't introduced myself, have I?" The teen laughed, before continuing, "My name's Kaminari Denki. Nice to meet you."

"You a new UA student or something?" 'Goro' asked.

"Nah, I've been in it for a while. I'm on class 2-A." He replied.

"Second year student. Neat." 'Goro' said, "So, you like heroes?"

"Kind of." Kaminari said, "Many of them semeed too arrogant for my tastes, but a handful is actually pretty good."

"Pretty good, hm?" 'Goro' snorted, before gently taking the book from Kaminari's hand, "You mind if I..?"

"No, of course not. Feel free to scroll through the book to your heart's content." Kaminari said.

"Oh wow, these heroes doesn't seem to put much thought into their costumes," 'Goro' chuckled in mild amusement, "Lame. Especially this woman." He pointed at the aging woman with a black, sleeveless bodysuit, a white cape hanging over her high colar.

"Floatie?" Kaminari peeked over the book's content, "I mean, beneath her cheapskate get-up, she's actually pretty cool."

"Right."

"You have a problem with her, Goro-san?" Kaminari asked.

"She just reminds me of someone that left me when I was a kid." 'Goro' shrugged, "Doesn't matter."

"Sorry.." Kaminari gave him his condolences.

"It's cool. Anyway, if I ask you which one of these guys are your favourites, what name comes into your mind first?" 'Goro' asked.

"All Might." Kaminari replied.

'Goro' seemed uneasy at the unexpected reply, "All Might?"

"I know you people hate his guts, but I've met him before."

"You have?"

"Yeah. Back in Tokyo." Kaminari smiled, "I didn't know he was good with kids. Now he's an assistant in my class, isn't that amazing?"

"That's quite the preference you got there.." 'Goro' squinted his eyes as he kept on flipping the pages of the book, "You sure that guy's more than it meets the eye? Doesn't seem like it. He's pretty lame, like Shimura is."

"So I'm assuming he reminds you of someone else as well?" Kaminari went straight to the point.

"Nah. I just don't like him. Not my type of hero, I guess?" 'Goro' replied, before closing the book, "Anyway, I don't wanna keep you captive here. The teacher's probably gonna chastise you after this. Heard your homeroom teacher's a pretty rough guy."

"No kidding. It's fine though." Kaminari flashed a thumbs up.

"Welp, smell ya later. Oh, and if we meet each other again, don't forget to bring that Hero Encyclopedia again. It's interesting." 'Goro spoke.

"If that's the case, then I gotta give you my phone number," Kaminari scribbled on a paper he shredded from one of the book's pages, before handing it over to Goro, much to his surprise.

"That fast?"

"What? We're friends now, are we? I mean, despite the wide gap in age..." Kaminari smiled nervously.

"Yeah, yeah, of course. I'll call you later. See ya!" Goro said, before sprinting away from the scene, leaving Kaminari alone on the park.

He shouted for one last time as 'Goro' began to gradually disappear from his sight, "Don't kill anymore monsters, okay??"

He looked at his watch, before groaning.

Shit, Snek's going to kill him.

...

Garou looked back, only to see that the kid wasn't there anymore. Damn. He lost the count of time on how long he has been wandering around.

No heroes yet, well, at least the high ranked ones. All he managed to wreck was some low ranked, no-name heroes so far.

He ran his hand through his waist, before pulling a piece of paper that he slipped through it earlier.

A page of a certain hero.

'All Might, The One Punch Hero'.

"Why did they even bother to make a page about this guy?" Garou gripped the paper with both his hands, staring at the frame of the hero.

He flipped the page to see the frame of the hero behind it.

'Silverfang, The Martial Arts Hero'.

"Old man." Garou uttered, "Wonder how you're holding up right now. Probably shambling in your shoes right now. I fucked up your dojo, after all." He laughed, as he slipped the paper to his pocket, "Gotta keep this in case I need it."

Thank god for the kid.

Hours Later...

"Y- you want me to what?!"

"Considering the dire situation that we're in, I need you to cooperate with us, Shimura-san." Bang tried to calm the woman in front of him.

"Look, whatever it is you want me to do, save it and ask for someone else. I'm done with the hero gig, okay? I have a protégé for a reason, for crying loud!" Nana declined again, "Besides, I'm getting too old for this shit."

"It's about Yagi." Bang finally get straight to the point.

"..." Nana was frozen. Yagi? She had not heard of that name for over twenty years.

"Toshi?" She uttered, puzzled, "What about Toshi?"

"He's here working in our faculty, not as a teacher yet, but as an assistant." Bang replied.

"Toshi's..here?" Nana took a step back, "Where is he?"

"Occupying this city at the moment, of cou-"

"No, that's not what I meant, you daft aging hermit, I meant where exactly is he?" Nana put an emphasis on her question.

"Out of good will from the UA faculty, we facilitated him with a house that's located near the tattoin shop district." Bang replied, "But as of now, we don't know his exact whereabouts. If I'm right, he's probably at his house with whatever kid he took in."

Nana inhaled a decent amount of air to her nostrills, holding it for a moment, before releasing it, her expression softening, "Fine. I'll help."

"I knew you had it in you. After all these years, you're still attached to him." Bang's lips bent into a smile.

"Shut up, just tell me what's the deal with him." Nana demanded.

"The numbers of heroes are depleting each day, and we need his cooperation to become an inspiration to many people. This country is falling apart and crime rates are fluctuating dramatically." Bang cleared his throat, before continuing, "You're one of the people that he trusts the most. I want you to try to convince him, so we can get his approval regarding his rise in the ranking system."

"Okay, let me narrow it down," Nana then continued, "You want me to, I don't know, soften his heart or something?"

"I guess that's the one way to put it."

"Like you want me to sugarcoat everything for him, that things will be going fine, and that he'll do fine and nothing's going to go sideways."

"Maybe so."

Nana chuckled in amusement, "You seriously think that'll work just because I'll go 'supportive mom' mode on him?"

"I mean-"

"Listen, I'm no psychologist, but I don't think our efforts are going to bear some fruit here." Nana interrupted with a reality check.

"He complied to our offer. It'll work, trust-"

"Hey, I know the guy too well. If he decided to compromise what he thinks is the most important thing to him, he's gotta have some kind of ulterior motives agreeing to your offer." Nana shook her head, "And trust me, it's not the ranking thing. It's something else, I know it."

"What could he possibly gain from agreeing to accept our offer like that, thoug-" Bang halted himself on the way, before realising something.

Oh.

"Mhm." Nana gave him an 'I told you so' expression, "You know something, I can tell. Wanna tell me what it is?"

Bang stared at his desk for a moment, before turning his attention back to the feminine hero in front of him, adapting a serious, yet melancholic look.

...

Yagi felt like he's missing something important. He looked at the clock, hoping to find whatever it is that's missing, but still couldn't understand the sudden confusion.

Izuku still hasn't come back from the school. What could be holding him back from going home as soon as possible? Going back home late isn't like him at all.

Well, time to stop worrying. Kind of unhealthy.

But then, a glimpse of a face suddenly flashed in his mind. That face. He knew, but he didn't knew at the same time, it's like...deja vu. It's been years and he has met a lot of people, that anyone he knew in the past gets overshadowed to the point his memory couldn't pinpoint their exact look, how their faces looked like.

Man, I gotta stop overthinking.

He stood up, before walking back to his room.

Maybe it's nothing.
