...
The shock that reeled through her receptors were vivid. Whatever this...'Orochi' thing did to Psykos, it sure as hell did amp her powers by an untold amount.
Blood gushed out of her forehead, soaking her cheeks with its crimson liquid.
The black mist forming a blade held within the four of the creature below Psykos's waist arms increased it's intensity in it's luminance, blinding every sight.
"Did I abolish your resolve, little Tatsumaki? Was that enough to make you waver from your misplaced confidence? Where is your bravado that you exhibited earlier?" Psykos taunted, forming a reverse triangle with her fingers, energy glowing within it.
"Hmph." Tatsumaki's lips curled delightfully, seemingly exhilarated even more, "All the more reason to not suppress the fullest extent of my quirk."
"In that case, have a taste of a sliver of what power I possess!" In an instant, the energy from her fingers bursted forward, spreading to form into an enormous triangle-shaped energy beam, cutting throughout every layers on the earth's surface until a large chunk of the city was sliced and brought to the air.
Tatsumaki barely evaded the deadly beam. If she was on the line of fire, she would no doubt, at the very least, receive a damage that would render her incapacitated. Half of her jacket was also shredded into pieces.
No point in dropping her guard now. Even she could admit that the threat Psykos possesses has amplified a hundred fold with that power boost she received. The cost from the recurring collateral damage will no doubt fluctuate dramatically, especially by that attack alone.
A large portion of the city was left in ruins, and by result, some of the evacuation convoy were demolished in an instant, leaving the citizens to fend by themselves.
All is well until every single limbs that the monster in front of her possesses glowed with green energy, compressing it into a single unified spherical containment.
They all collectively bursted into every directions, akin to a homing missile.
Gotta make sure these synergetic beams don't hit the ground level. She thought.
An emerald aura surrounded the city, encircling it, lifting multiple rocks into the air.
Tatsumaki flinged them forward and used it as a way to defend herself from the incoming beams, her keen senses heightened to dodge the last remaining beams that were left untouched by her means of defense.
Her sense of sight sharpened, sensing the psychic barrier that Psykos has surrounded herself with.
Typical move for a coward. Surround themselves with something that renders the opposition unable to do anything.
"Is this what you do the best? Hiding from your daughter like you always have done before?" Tatsumaki snarled, as she dodged another beam, "Can't even bring yourself to get out of that little corner you're hiding at, and face your past sins?!"
Then, a pair of blades sprung forward to her area faster than she could perceive, piercing both of her palms.
"Guh...!?" Tatsumaki tried to break free, but to no avail. The blade's were far too resilient for her to break.
Fuck!
"Trashtalk won't get you anywhere, little Tatsumaki." Psykos said, as a green radiance were emitted out of her palm, "I'd hate to see you go, but this is the end for you."
The energy bursted from her hand, but before it could even make the slightest contact with the esper, a blur came from below and struck the beam, deflecting away into the turbulent sky.
The figure that did it landed on a midair rock, "Hey, figured that you needed a hand." The green haired boy replied.
Tatsumaki couldn't seem to recall the identity of the boy. Who was he? Did the Hero Commission brought along an inexperienced brat just so he could weigh her down even more?
"Get out of here," Her eyes glinted as she said that, "I can handle this all by myself."
"The bloodstains all over your clothes says otherwise." The boy countered, "And I've got a handful of other adults that were against my decision anyway. Your uncalled tantrums won't make me back down."
Huh?!
Who the fuck is this kid?! And what the hell does he think he is to be talking to me THIS way?!
"Fufu...so you've got a kid assigned to be a meat shield..how gutless." Psykos remarked.
"That wasn't even- You know what, I'm gonna throw you into the ground if you don't go this instant." Tatsumaki threatened, "I can handle-"
"You can't." The boy interrupted, "You are nothing more than a mere placeholder until Sensei arrives."
Sensei?
"And it is the disciple's duty to back his master up!" He hopped between the suspended debris, balancing himself with each landings.
As he closed the gap in the distance between himself and the large monster in front of him, he cocked his fist back.
Another energy beam bursted from Psykos's palm. The boy evaded to the side, using the tip of his fist, sliding across the heated surface of the energy beam, causing a friction of heat that integrated some of the energy into his fist.
As it dissipated, the boy performed an elegant spin in the air, "Absorbing Resonant Smash!"
He thrusted the fist forward, and when it made contact with the barrier that enveloped the villain, the shockwave spread across the city.
Izuku was pushed back by the energy alone, landing on another debris floating in the air.
"YOU BRAT!" Psykos shrieked, her eyes shimmered with the untamed rage that threatened to overtook her, "I'LL DISMEMBER EVERY SINGLE LAST OF YOUR LIMBS UNTIL-"
"You forgot something?" Tatsumaki spoke cheekily as she clenched both her arms, twisting the monster's lower body into a spiral shaped line, causing her to shriek in agony.
"Hmph. Not bad. You've got quite the fight in you, brat." Tatsumaki complimented, "I was having a hard time with the barrier that she amassed, but now that's out of the way...I can bring down every single pain unimaginable on this whore to my heart's content."
"I have a name, and it's Midoriya."
Tatsumaki disregarded the kid's introduction, before twisting her fingers even further, causing a fountain of blood to appear within each every part of the city's surface.
"You were integrating the entire surface of this city into your body's mass? What are you trying to do, become the earth itself?" Tatsumaki jabbed at the villain, her smirk never leaving her, "Then I guess I'll have to tightly shut down the pump."
However, blood burst forward from her veins as she was about to exert another fraction of her power.
W- what?! Did I...did I overexert myself?!
...
Metal Bat was livid. Absolutely livid. The fact that Izuku neglected the warnings he gave, despite his physical limitations. He can't defeat that monstrosity. Not without the aid of the other pro-heroes.
Yagi, hell, what kind of lessons have you been carving inside of this kid's mind? He acts more or more less like you do...
Oh man. It's one thing to deal with Yagi, but with another version of himself who's more reckless, stubborn, and uncaring of other's consultation? He's gonna need a nap or two before he could regain the strength to endure through that level of thick-headedness.
He wondered if things will go downhill from here and out. Then, as if on cue, multiple bodies fell from the air, five of them to be precise, landing on top of each other as a dog pile.
He recognised them as the..
"You guys..." Metal Bat uttered, taken aback by the sight.
Atomic Samurai landed the last, on top of the bodies, along with the other pro-heroes.
"Sandbag couldn't hold a candle to me, even after thirty years." Seven figures landed along with each other, most notable of them all, the shortest one with the protrusion extending from it's head.
Black Sperm.
"Did someone lift up the base?"
"No idea."
Homeless Emperor interjected with an eyeball dangling from the tip of his fingers, "You guys should've seen this."
"Woah, woah, did you kill someone? That soon? I thought we agreed to gather together first and execute them together." Black Sperm raised his brow.
"Nah, he isn't dead. His quirk is a tricky one, but I'll find a way around it eventually." Homeless Emperor said, as he tossed the eyeball away into the lump of meat behind him, "So, these are the top ranking heroes."
"Not all of them." Metal Bat cut into their conversation, "Ya still got me to deal with, and three other heroes if memory serves well."
"How did I not notice you standing over there?" Black Sperm's eyes narrowed, "You must be Meat-beating balls."
"HUH?!"
"Did I get the name wrong?" Black Sperm asked, "Sorry, probably the list. The boss isn't exactly that good at remembering names."
"Boss? By boss, do you mean that weird ass giant woman fighting Tatsumaki over there?"
"Tatsu-" Black Sperm's eyes widened when he saw the sight of a gigantic woman fighting something that appeared to be a mere dot suspended in the air, "Oh. They're already at it. Explains this whole mess."
"We should probably just go ahead and kill meathead bat over here." Homeless Emperor suggested.
Metal Bat prepared himself. He hadn't expected this encounter to be so soon, but whatever.
He's gotta put his whole heart into this fight, lest he becomes one of their victims.
Fighting spirit will never fail him. It never did before, and it certainly won't this time.
...
Garou was awoken by the strain on his back. He tried to crawl away from the pile, only for the pressure to prevent him from doing so.
He could see the various gaps emitting the light from between them.
From between his blurry vision, a sight of his surrogate paternal figure materialised itself in front of him. Someone that he had resented for a long, long time.
"What...are you doing in here..?"
The man in front of him remained unfazed by his words, standing over him, looking down on him.
His mind was playing games with him. None of this is real. Just the side effect of being injected by a long-lasting venom that had been weighing on his ass since yesterday.
The figure dissipated from his sight, fading away into the thin air as seconds passes by. Just as he expected. Only a lousy vision, projected by his brain as a means to look for comfort..
No.
As if he would resort to viewing his father as a source of comfort.
He shouldn't be here, moping about his past. He should be out there, referred and feared, creating a world where existence isn't taken for granted, where everyone's heart is united under the constant terror of the absolute evil that he would be. Humanity's perseverance hinges on him, the life of tranquility that he aims to achieve, where bullying, discrimination, and even war would disappear for good.
Unite their resolutions...
He dug his nail against the floor, anger riling him up like a mattress, tightening and ensnaring him in a never-ending cycle of hatred and disdain.
He's too weak.
Too weak to achieve it.
All he sees are the faces of Kaminari in every corner of the room, pleading for him to stop, begging for him to tame the monster inside.
...
"The time I've spent with you, I knew you held no ill will against me, even when you...told me of that twist. You're not a villain, nor a monster."
Kaminari's words lingered in his thoughts, vibrating in his psyche, constantly reminding him of the very obstacle that he was blind towards from the very beginning.
His humanity.
...
No...
That weakness...must be disposed of imminently.
...
I'm sorry, Kaminari. I couldn't be the friend that you needed. But you.. you're better off not being associated with...
With a monster.
That's when the shells on his body expanded outwards even more, his face morphed into something deformed.
That's right..
With a tooth-wide grin, he regained the resolve that he had always exhibited.
I've always been the monster.
His body gradually stood, unpinning himself from the pile of debris behind his back.
An irresistible, unadulterated manifestation of wickedness itself.
His nail grew into a sharp claw, his body encapsulated in the shells of his new monster form.
The wickedness that will send humanity into the depths of terror.
Garou's sharp tooth grew, sharpening it's edge points. His mind was clouded, his trail of thoughts diminishing, as if his humanity was slowly and slowly disappearing.
That's when the shell assimilated with his skin, devoid of his former light-pale skin, his body tainted with the ink of the monster shell.
You can't fall here!
Yes. He can't.
Scatter the terror around the world!
Part of his mind screamed, urging him, pushing him to move forward, to carry out his crusade, to make a difference in this stained, unreasonable world.
Unite their hearts!
Flashes of the injustice he had witnessed flickered in his visions. The bullying, the suicides, the discrimination of the quirkless, the insecurities, the...unfairness.
Unite their resolutions!
All of that accumulated into a single foggy image of his former tormentor. Tacchan.
UNTIL THIS DISPARITY IS GONE!!
Lines radiating red luminance extended from one part of his body into the other, surrounding it like the multitudes of the twinkling, vibrant stars. The ground subsequently erupted in an explosion of unparalleled power, the remaining debris scattered into several directions.
Standing amidst the cleavage of steam..
Was not a human.
...
"You did it!" Flashy Flash said, walking out of the hole that were used to be piled with rubbles, "Now for one last..ditch...effort..!"
Flashy Flash reached for something that were residing inside of the hole, "I could've sworn I left it in here."
"What? Did you bring along a flashlight?" Yagi asked with his brows furrowed.
"Nothing of the sort."
Yagi sighed, "My fault for expecting you to bring something actually beneficial to our current circumstance right now."
"This one is beneficial as well!" Flashy Flash pulled it out of the hole, creating a tension about whether the object he was looking for was valuable or no-
It was a cube. "Damn it!" Flashy Flash threw the cube towards the ground where Manako stood, creating a huge crater beneath it as it made contact.
"Oi, be careful!"
"Yes, yes, I got it!" Flashy Flash hauled the object out of the hole, "Behold! The-"
His moment of triumph was cut short when he noticed something.
"It's broken in half." Flashy Flash said in a dry tone, holding over the dangling scraps of what's left of his blade.
...
...
"With all due respect, are you fucking with me right now?" Yagi lamented, "You put me through all of that for-"
"Silence."
"-A measly, useless bla-"
"It's not useless!"
"Guys?" Manako cut into their bickering, but it fell on deaf ears.
"You could've just bought a spare one! What, with all the rampant sales going on-"
"You think something as grandeous as my blade is easily as replacable as your average buchelor's iffy tools?!"
"Guyssss..."
"Or you could just make a new one!"
"You presume I would order a blacksmith to forge a new blade with a counterfeit quality, incomparable to the immense precision of sharpness and attack potency that my insta-kill blade used to possess!?"
"Guys!"
"Oh cry me a river, you aloof buffoon. We live in an era where weapons that can wipe out cities in an instant exists, why would you fucking assume that none of the folks back on the commission can't arrange you a new blade-"
"Their talents would never be able to replicate the perfection that is my insta-kill blade!"
"Now you're just being full of yourself, aren't you?!"
"Seal your lips before I seal them myself!"
"Oh try me, you fucking-"
"GUYS!"
Both the heroes whipped their head to Manako's direction with an overly exasperated look, "WHAT?!"
"I hate to burst into your little yelling session, but there's something that you might want to look at." Manako pointed at the cube, "This thing can't be lifted. By me, anyway."
"What, the cube?" Yagi picked it up, holding it in the air rather easily, "It's not even that heavy."
"Because of the strength you possess, it doesn't come off as that much of a surprise." Flashy Flash replied, "Here, let me hold-"
Before he could finish, a voice rang in each of their heads respetively.
Three at once. How unusual.
Yagi's head darted to every direction to look for the source of the voice, "...who said that?"
"I have no clue." Manako replied.
Flashy Flash only remained alert.
Allow me to put you into a test to see if you are worthy vessels for me to bestow my power upon.
Yagi's fists clenched, dropping the cube into the ground, "I take it you're the ring leader behind this whole fiasco?"
"It might be." Flashy Flash said, "If only I had my blade."
"Now is not the right time to mop about your blade." Yagi warned.
Place your hand upon that box, and state a fervent wish. If you are worthy, you shall retrieve the power contained inside.
However, if it deems you unworthy, you shall face FORFEITURE.
Now that sounded bad.
"Forfeiture?" Yagi questioned, wary of whatever's speaking even more, "The hell do you mean 'forfeiture'?"
Before another word could be said, a wind whirled at the centre of the narrow room, forming a spherical hole that distorted a part of the area.
A figure emerged out of the hole, curling on himself, before landing on the ground. The man wore a shoulder pad on each of his sides, his bulky, large physique supports the heavy armour that he seems to wear.
On the right side of his chest was transcribed the word..
'Blast'.
"I- Impossible..." Flashy Flash uttered, "He's..."
"Wait, Blast? The guy who died fighting All For One a century ago?" It piqued Yagi's interest.
How the hell is he still alive?
"You seem to be well versed about the emergence of the meta-powers," The man said, as he took a step forward, "But that's not what matters right now."
He crouched, picking the cube up, tossing it into the air before catching it again in his palm, "It's good that you didn't accept the deal yet."
"Yeah, some weird voice came out of nowhere and told us to touch that cube." Yagi said.
"This cube acts as a communication device, which could be used whenever you want to reach out beyond the mortal realm, and communicate with him." Blast explained, "I'm glad I didn't come late, otherwise you could've been turned into another one of his mindless puppets."
"That bad, huh?" Yagi said, "Who is this 'him' you keep mentioning about, anyway?"
"A story for another time. The trajectory of time flows slower in this particular area, so you need to get out of here as soon as possible." He urged
Yagi sighed, "Fine. Would've appreciated an intel or two, because we're in the dark here, thanks to some idiot fussing over the futile condition of his stupid blade."
"Hey!"
Blast clashed both of his fists together, causing a spark of flame to encircle around his knuckles, forming into an 'infinity' symbol as the circles resonated with each other, "Anyway! This is where we part ways! I wish you luck in your future endeavours!"
"Finally, we're getting out of this shithole." Yagi muttered, pinching his nose.
And then, a black sphere engulfed them, disappearing from sight as it did.
TO BE CONTINUED!
