...
The sun began to descend from the vastness of the sky, as the light began to rapidly shrunk from the horizon, as the darkness began to march forward. Yagi's eyes gazed into the ground, pondering, and pondering, not knowing where he was going within all the swirling clouds within his brain.
He couldn't wrap his thoughts around the turmoil that he was facing. So many conflicts, so many emotions to process, and so many informations to digest..
Izuku.
He had to find Izuku.
His eyes switched in-between trying to focus on the road, and pondering and staring at the empty, blackening sky.
As he reached the gate of the Class 1-A Dorms, he took a step forward, reaching the front yard.
Seemed a bit empty for his tastes. Usually the kids would be outside. They had a knack for sight-seeing and taking a short stroll. He'd always pegged them for the outdoor type. Oh well...
Maybe they're just resting.
He had been assigned as the temporary placeholder for Aizawa's absence. Apparently, he was taking a 'sabbatical' trip for a bit.
However suspicious that may be, he tried not to think further into it.
He knocked on the door, and was greeted by a couple of familiar faces.
"All-Might Sensei!" They greeted him.
Yagi simply waved at them, the weariness could be seen by the way he gestured at them.
He sighed, as he entered the dorm, "How are you holding up, boys?"
"Mostly fine, I guess.." Kirishima answered, "We're worried about Aizawa-sensei. Something seems a bit off."
"Yeah well, me too kid, me too." Yagi yawned, "Not like I could scold him for being the silent type. He's a grown adult. He can take care of himself."
Yagi's eyes shifted to the staircase, "Anyway, is Izuku in?"
"Ah? Oh! Midoriya is just upstairs, studying for the daily exams this week. Want me to call him down?" Uraraka chimed in.
Yagi shook his head, "Nah, I could just go to his room instead. Thanks for the thought. You kids just have fun here."
As Yagi walked up the staircase and reached the second floor, he strolled to the corner of the corridor, until he reached a room that read, 'Mido'.
He begrudgingly lifted his hand to knock on the door, or to twist the doorknob, but that would be unethical.
I guess this discussion can wait a little.
Yagi exhaled, as he walked into the other direction. It weighs on his heart, the fact that he was indirectly endangering the kid. He may or may not have led him to this very moment, caught up in this unfortunate circumstance.
Maybe he should've never took him in as a student to begin with.
He walked right into the direction of his office, as he twisted the handle..
Someone was sitting in his chair.
"Yagi-san."
It was him.
"Normally, I would've brushed you off as a common thief, but you don't see that face anywhere," Yagi clenched his fists as he called out his name, "Sitch."
"I'm not the director anymore." Sitch stood up, crossing his arms behind him, "Although I didn't resign out of my own volition. They demanded that I should step down as the director and let someone else fill my shoes."
"Tough luck. I mean, what you did a few days ago, kinda make sense if they drove you out of that shitty mess that you put yourself in." Yagi stepped forward, "Anyways, can you scram?"
"Yagi, this is a grave matter."
"Are you going to abduct one of my students so you can retain your position of power?" Yagi leaned forward with his expression contorted unpleasantly, "Sorry to say, director, but while I'm still here, that won't happen."
"That's what I'm here to warn you about!" Sitch slammed the desk with both of his hands. Both of them gazed on each other in an intense stare off, until Sitch sighed, "You don't believe me, I understand, but I'm putting myself at risk just for being here."
"The Commission is scheming something heinous in my absence, and that includes your students as the crucial piece." Sitch explained, "The most notable of them all is Midoriya Izuku."
Yagi, intrigued, gestured for him to carry on, "Go on."
"A new hero organisation is being formed on the horizon, and, as you would expect, they didn't take the information very kindly. They wanted to increase their manpower as fast as they can, and, I think abducting your students isn't out of the equation." Sitch explained.
"And why should I believe you? You fucked up first, even before you were forced to resign."
"I know. My methods weren't the best, and I wish I could take all of it back, but believe me when I say that I did all that for the betterment of all the parties involved. I can see that it didn't work well." Sitch sighed, "I want to rectify for my mistakes. All of it."
"How do I know that you're not trying to lure me away?" Yagi asked again.
"Oh Yagi, you know better than everyone that angering you is not a trivial matter. The repercussion is far too severe for me to take that kind of gamble." Sitch laughed a little, as he settled in into the seat.
"Nuh-uh, who said that you can sit there?"
Sitch sighed, "My back's a bit sore, cut your elderlies some slack, would you?"
Yagi shook his head, "Fine." He sat on the opposite side, "Anything else that you can fill me in about this situation?"
"Nothing on my end as of this moment, I'm trying to look into it more."
"Uh-huh, and how do you plan on doing that?"
"I still have...infiltrators at my disposal. You could say that they're a sort of information broker, for a nifty price, of course." Sitch leaned against the seat, "I need you to stay alert towards your environment, Yagi, in case anything happens."
"I've always been staying alert, especially since that questionable discussion I had with the principal."
Sitch hummed, tapping the sides of the chair as he looked at the ceiling, "All Might, there's one more thing that needs your attention."
Yagi looked at the man solemnly, preparing himself for whatever information that might come through, so he can deduce it and figure out what to do next.
"Recently, I have stumbled across an esoteric creature of unknown origins, and I think this may very well have to do with the prophecy."
An esoteric creature?
Now where had he heard of that before?
"You know, I might have an idea or two about what kind of 'creature' that you're talking about." Yagi slid his seat backwards, crossing his legs above the desk, uncaring of how improper it was, "Does it involve a 'power bestowment' of the sort?"
Sitch's eyes broaden into every direction, "You know?"
"I encountered it back at the Monster Association base. It tried to turn me into a puppet, though. Fortunately, an unlikely guest came into our rescue."
"Tell me more of this 'unlikely guest'."
"Eh, you won't believe me. It sounds crazy." Yagi shrugged.
"I've seen far more extreme things than an 'unlikely guest'."
Yagi let his chin rest on his fist, "You sure you wanna hear?"
"I believe I've made myself abundantly clear."
"Right, right. How would you feel if someone who's been out of the game for more than a century, and suddenly, he comes back crawling from the grave and appears right in front of-"
"It's Blast, isn't it?" Sitch interjected.
"...huh, you look like you're digesting this a bit...civilly. Most of people would've freaked out if I told them what I just told you."
"Blast is an acquaintance of ours."
"An acquaint- no, you've got to be fucking with me." Yagi narrowed his eyes, searching for any sign of deceit in the man's expression.
And found none.
"How the fuck is he still alive?!" Yagi practically yelled, but careful enough to not wake the students up.
"We formed a long distance alliance not too long ago. Regarding his apparent resuscitation, I have no intel of this for now." He said, "The situation had grown more dire as it seems, as he was desperate enough to reach to us for assistance. Of course, I know better than anyone that our heroes simply wouldn't be enough to repel the overarching threat."
Yagi twisted his neck to the side, making a slight rattle noise as his gaze sharpened, "Want me to run a few errands for you again?"
Sitch shook his head, "This might be in correspondent with the prophecy told by our late patient. We need to take precautions, should you ever fail."
Yagi chuckled, "Fail?"
"It would be folly to assume that you'd emerge triumphant right off the bat." Sitch leaned back, "For now, we need to be cautious."
"Yeah, right." Yagi stood up, "Is that all?"
Sitch nodded, "Don't tell anyone, not even your fellow teachers, that I was ever here."
"Sounds a bit off, if you ask me-"
"No. It's not what you think," Sitch sighed, "The Commission will dispatch their most formidable agents in order to detain me to conceal any of this from going into the public. It's how they operate. Deception is the principle that they live by."
Yagi snapped his fingers, "Then how about you just stay here for the night?"
"Pardon me?"
"Yeah. You heard me right. You can stay, although only for the night." Yagi suggested again, "You look like you're in a tough spot, and, as much as I find you insufferable, I can't just let you out there if what you're saying is right."
"Your concern is much appreciated," Sitch shook his head, "But I have pressing matters to attend to."
Yagi raised his brow, "But that would just risk you out in the open."
Sitch chuckled, "All Might, risk has always been my game. Contending against the inevitable is my forte, and nothing's ever going to change that." He moved past Yagi to give him a slight nudge, "Just do me this one favour, alright? Take good care of your students. They have a bright future."
He opened the door, his eyes fixated on the ceiling, "I don't."
Yagi was about to say something, but held it in.
Something wrong is obviously happening with this guy. He tilted his head backwards, only to see that the former director was no longer standing in front of his office.
Yagi reluctantly tried to contact him, but then again, he did say to drop it. He didn't want to grow to the man's ire as much as he did towards himself.
He exhaled, his eyes flickering in-between, as he closed the door to his office.
This is the most drowsy that he's ever felt.
He slumped onto his seat, his legs raised in a nonchalant fashion, his right foot resting onto his left calf. He felt like an obtuse buffoon. He felt like he should be doing more, but he didn't know what.
Shaking his head, he decided to put aside his dilemma. Sucking the air through his teeth, he clasped his hands to his back, his head resting on it.
Better not think about the setbacks. Just leave tomorrow's problem to tomorrow's me.
And with that, the world around him faded into nothingness.
...
Fubuki watched as the light abstained the sky, devoid of the vibrant light it used to exhibited. She kept her foot at pace, walking towards the desolate asphalt, accompanied by the view of the endless sea at the two sides where the road protrudes.
The fortress, from which, every complications originated from, lies ahead of her.
The Headquarters of the Hero Commission.
Night was the best time for a visitation, and she knew better not to provoke her sister.
Not after what happened a few days prior.
She held her hands high in the air as her convoy of men stopped right behind her.
"If I may ask, Fubuki-sama?"
Fubuki nodded.
"You haven't filled any of us in about what we're doing in here."
"...A family reunion, is what I would best describe it as." Fubuki's lips clicked, her heart engulfed in the bitterness.
One of her more muscular men raised their brow, "A family reunion, Fubuki-sama? By that, are you referring to-"
"Yes." Fubuki sighed, "The main perpetrator behind the Monster Association and the abduction of Waganma."
"B- but-"
"We agreed to meet in discreet." Fubuki interrupted, "Nobody even knows she's there. She guised herself as one of the workers."
She motioned for her subordinates to follow her suit, "Walk first, questions later. She and I have much to discuss."
As they walked, the fortress opened the main gate automatically, greeted by two escorting men. They bowed to Fubuki collectively, as they led her inside, along with the Blizzard Bunch.
Fubuki took a deep breath, trying to gain her wits and strength, before meeting the woman who started this.
Had it been that long since then? Since Yagi disappeared from both her and her sister's life, since her mother ruined her to the point of memory loss?
Not that it's permanent..
Her sister's memory had been resurfacing for the past few days, and it scared her.
As the humongous door slid, they entered the giant elevator, leading to depths of the Hero Commission's fortress...
And as the door opened..
A familiar frame were engrained into her eyes.
Psykos in her full glory, standing over the corner with full anticipation.
"Mom.."
"Daughter." She spoke rather fondly, or, maybe it was just a ruse for the time being.
Fubuki couldn't tell.
After all, her mother had proven to be rather untrustworthy on several occasions.
"It's been a while." Fubuki said as she crossed her arms.
Psykos then prompted to ask, "How have you been my dear?"
"Tch," She bared her teeth, "was that genuine, or are you just stalling?"
"Of course it's genuine," Psykos moved forward, "Oh, how I've longed for the both of us to meet in a special occasion such as this one."
"Mom," She gritted her teeth as her fists clenched, "What is your end goal, exactly?"
"To be reunited with you, of course." Psykos approached dangerously close to her proximity, compelling her subordinates to come to her side.
But Fubuki held her hands up to halt them.
"What happened a few days prior wasn't that much of a reunion."
"Oh, I didn't plan for it to escalate to that point, honestly. You know how your sister are. Always so stubborn, always so boastful, so self-absorbed." Psykos said, "I didn't hold it against her, of course!"
"You injured her to the brink of death." Fubuki hissed, "Y- you almost-"
"Shhhh," Psykos put her finger on her 'daughter''s lips, "What happened on that day doesn't matter. It was all over a measly misunderstanding. However, I could offer you something, something far more grander than what your little occupation could ever do to you."
"And what is that, exactly?"
"An empire." Psykos said.
Fubuki narrowed her eyes, "An empire?"
"Yes! Coexistence between humans and monsters has never been in my agenda. I want to bring about a new age, an age of monsters, where every single humans that you've ever known," Psykos made a gesture that resembled an explosion, "Poof. All exterminated."
Fubuki was about to answer, but Psykos's gaze compelled her to swallow down whatever she was going to say next.
"Humanity has never done you any favour, right from the start, has it? Neither did it towards me, or your big sister for the matter. See, we, as a family, we adhere to each other's interest. We share our experience, our suffering. We could use that to rise out of the ashes! To emerge as the new emperors of this world!"
...
That's when it clicked on her mind.
Her mother..
Fubuki pushed her away, tears brimming up her swollen, crimson eyes, "You're not my mother."
"Daughter-"
"No. It's that quirk, is it? It's been influencing you for the past few decades and now.." She was struggling to breath, her legs beginning to crumble, "Y- you killed her, didn't you? Locked her inside of her own psyche for years until it fades, and..."
Her eyes peeled on the person she used to look up to as her mother, "Sh- she's fucking dead, isn't she?"
"I'm very much alive, daughter, I don't see-"
Fubuki chuckled, her voice leeching with bitterness, "The way you're speaking right now, I could tell. Think I'm clueless enough to not notice the pattern of speech that my own goddamn mother would use? You..I..You fucking took her away from me, both of them! My mother, even big sis..I can't even recognise her anymore! Everyday, I wake up to see her glaring at the ceiling, yelling obscenities about God knows what, I feel alienated!" Fubuki finished, panting as sweat gushing from her forehead.
"You did this, to us, both of us." Fubuki pointed at her, "Ever since that day, things has never been the same."
Psykos stayed silent for a long time, her malicious gaze grew ever-so vibrantly as gradually as possible.
The lights flickered as her eyes glinted emerald, "I'm surprised you weren't as gullible as I thought."
This was the moment where Fubuki's subordinates went on their guard.
"But then again," Her hands raised, her aura enveloping the bodies of Fubuki's subordinates, "The moment you stepped on this very ground is where you made a grave, grave mistake, my dear."
"I didn't." Fubuki's lips pursed, "I came here prepared.""
But then, something shot itself through the ceiling from above, and an eerily familiar presence could be felt catapulting itself into the ground.
As the dust settled...
A petite woman with an ink-black jacket with four cuts protruding from her waist stood in front of Fubuki, her hands resting on her hip.
"Haaaa~, Fubuki," Tatsumaki tilted her head to her behind, her eyes baring into Fubuki's own like a penetrating, refined blade, "I never pegged you for the type to backstreet. Against your big sis, nonetheless. Mind filling in the blanks for me?"
