Another extra chapter! Note that this has no ties to the current plot of the story! But I hope you'll enjoy this regardless!

The atmosphere was bliss. The streets of the Kabukicho were bustling. The sun was ensnaring, it's heat evoked an intense burning sensation that reverberated through his entire skin. His eyes picked the spectating pedestrians below, each of them making a gesture towards him. Some of them beckoned for him to step down from the roof, the other encouraged him to do the opposite, and the rest...

Well, they were just spectating. Just looking for some daily trouble, that's all. Why the hell were they all here, anyway? It's not like his imminent death was any of their concern. This life wasn't for him.

Kenji begrudged to take another hike from his other feet, to let go and plunge himself into the ground, but..

The fear. The palpable dread that he felt, it was excruciating. He couldn't do it.

His fear overshadowed his desire to let loose of everything that made him a living being.

Huh. Maybe I'm just a coward after all.

Their faces, the horrors in their expression, it was etched into the back of his mind. Carved into it, engraved into it, and he couldn't get rid of the horrid image that haunted him, and it was all..

All because of him.

Him, and him alone.

He had coaxed his children, his aspiring, cheerful, and lively children into doing something that caused quite the commotion back in the days.

All Might's training routine.

He had always believed him, believed him to be the epitome of the quirkless, a shortcut, his hope.

"Ah man.." Kenji sighed into himself, tears brimming up inside of his eyes, blurring his line of sight, "I- I should probably jump.."

"You sure?" A new voice announced itself from the side.

Kenji looked to the left, only to see a man with two tufts protruding from his blond eyes, his turquoise eyes sketched it's subtle concern.

Wait.

When did he get here?

"Who..are you..?" Kenji asked.

The man was holding what appears to be a bento box, "I don't think you want to know, really, but that's besides the point."

"Are you here to stop me..?" Kenji asked, not willing to listen to any of their pleads to convince him from not jumping. It's not like they cared, anyway.

"Nah," He took another bite from his food, chewing it, before swallowing, "I was just here by chance. You were mopping so bad that you didn't notice me here."

"Ah," Kenji's shoulder hung low, "Then, you won't stop me?"

"No." The man replied, "I can't fix your problems, and I'm not sure if I have the right to control you for what you do with your own life."

Kenji sighed, returning his attention back to the ledge, "Well, if that's the case-"

"However," The man turned his head again, "If you want to lend some of your time to sit and talk, I'll be more than delighted to indulge you."

"What-?"

"Here." The man brought the plastic that he placed on the left onto his right side, "I got some spare, if you're hungry."

"That's...not necessary." Kenji reluctantly declined.

"Your choice," He shrugged, "Might wanna take the offer, though. Free food like that, if I were you, I would've taken that courtesy in a heartbeat." He finished, chuckling, chomping on the other portion of his food.

Kenji's eyes were fixated on the man and the box of food besides him. Was he really...

He exhaled, taking a sit besides the other man, before taking the box, "T..Thanks."

"Dig yourself in." The blond said in a much more gentler voice.

He used the chopstick to lift the chunk of raw salmon from the side, chewing into it. He found the taste a tad bit peculiar, but otherwise tasty, "You like Sushi?"

"Not really." The blond replied, "I bought that for someone back in my agency, but since you're here.."

Ah.

For someone.

Back in his agency..

"Wait, you're a hero?"

"Yup." He popped the 'P' at the end of the sentence, "Not a popular one, though. Sorry to disappoint you."

"Eh, I mean, I don't really dig the popular ones. I'm more of a bottom lister type of guy." Kenji replied as he took another bite.

"Oh. Mind giving me an example?" The blond man's eyes perked in interest.

"I mean, there's hefty of them that I like, but the one that stands out the most to me is All Might."

The blond man's brow raised even more, "That's a surprise."

"Right? He's not really popular with the youngsters nowadays, but me? I like him heaps." Kenji smiled, but then, his smile shifted a little, his lips curling downwards.

The blond man, appearing to be somewhat concerned by the sudden shift, asked, "Something about him that changed your mind?"

"No, no, no, I..I haven't changed my mind about him..Not now, not ever. Even though the mainstream media paints him as something to be despised and abhorred, I see through it all. He is..a good person." Kenji replied, looking down, "I'm just a man with a lot of bad decisions. I knew why he did what he did. But I kept thinking, that maybe there's some kind of issue that I can work around with his training routine, but, little did I know, it costed me dearly." Tears began to well up, swimming down his cheeks, "Everything that I endeared, they're..."

The blond man made an attempt to move closer to him, but halted for some reason. His gaze never left the downtrodden man, his hands seemed to tremble, "I.. I'm sorry, about that. Can you elaborate? If you're willing to share, that is."

"My kids," Kenji choked on his own words, "They had a dream. A dream to be a pro-hero. But all that aspiration were brought down the moment the truth was revealed to us: that they were quirkless. Every each one of them. They were so profound about it, I..I didn't have the heart to tell them that they couldn't be one. I was despondent, desperate to look for any method, anything, that can help them realise their ambitions. Then, I remembered him. All Might. I thought making them do the same training routine as he did wouldn't inflict any harm towards them, but.."

He sniffed, unable to muster the right words to continue the story.

But he did anyway, "That night, that damned night, I heard screams, something was going on upstairs. I went to check, and what I saw.. it's still carved into my mind. I can't ever forget the wrinkles in their face, their distorted body proportions, their...elongated tongues, their sharpened fangs, and most of all, the aura of animosity, I..I had to put them down, all of them, I- I had no choice!" He choked in his own words.

The blond man remained silent, as if he knew all too well what this would lead to, as if he was there before.

"I- I gotta wrap this up," Kenji placed his food box beside him, abruptly standing up, "I- I can't do this," His feet trembled, "Just the thought of them alone, I can't handle-"

His feet slipped, and he could see the sight of the street below from afar. He knew that it was too late for reconsideration. His eyes closed, as he began to feel the rush of the wind breezing upwards, and gravity took hold of his trajectory...

The view from up here was daunting. He felt nauseous just thinking about the sheer distance between him and the ground alone. But if that was what it takes for him to be freed from this underlying pain..

Then so be it.

But then, he can feel a pair of what seemed to be a miniature stick holding him by pinching itself against the fabric of his jeans. He looked up, only to see the man from before holding him with a mere pair of chopsticks.

"Y- you-?"

He quickly brought the man back to the ledge without saying a word.

"Why-? I thought you said you weren't going to-"

The blond man's piercing gaze silenced him at a moment's notice. He made his advances, putting his hands in his shoulder, a smile forming on his lips, his expression softening, "You're a good father."

Kenji's eyes stretched wide, his hands quivering, "I..."

He gave him a tender pat, turning away as he picked his empty box, "Be seeing you later."

The man was reluctant to make a move, to call after him. A good father?

I thought..

I thought I was...

Tears began to obstruct his line of vision, his knees weakening, falling into the ground as he sobbed rigorously.

How could he come to such an outrageous conclusion? Me?! A good father?! I'm not even decent! I'm.. I'm nothing!

Suddenly, he could feel a vibration from his pocket. He picked his phone, only to see a notification from his email system.

As he opened it...

We, from the All Might agency are offering you the opportunity to work alongside us in our premises. But before we get into the details, we have a message from All Might himself that we are told to pass over to you.

Kenji's eyes squinted, looking at the message below.

He didn't expect for it to be so short.

And heartbreaking.

"I'm sorry."

What?! What is he even sorry for?! He didn't even-?!

Then, something clicked in his mind.

The man from before..

Could it be...

Once the realisation dawned on him, his chest swelled, warm tears trickling down his eyelids as he sobbed silently.

"It's.." Kenji said softly, as the tears dripped from his jaw into the ground.

"It's not your fault. It never was."
