Old And New Friends

The previous day

A black car drove on the highway, back to U.A. from the airport. It was getting late but Toshinori had some extra teacher-related work to do now that was substituting for Aizawa. Regardless, he arrived just in time to meet them there, he liked to be punctual for these things. On the back seat, next to the skeletal man, sat a man with brown hair and square glasses. And next to the man, a young lady with blond wavy hair and round glasses.

"Thanks again for the help, Tsukauchi-san. I would have picked them myself, but I'm afraid this would be even more troublesome." Toshinori said to the man driving.

"Don't mention it, after all the help the heroes gave to the Police Department in the last months, this is the least I can do, especially if it can help make your school safer for the kids."

Tsukauchi might be just one of the detectives in the police force but his track record has earned him some sort of privileged status. In other words, if he asked the right people, he could get around a lot of bureaucracy, although he never liked the idea of "abusing" his contacts. Still, it was All Might who made him a request, and that alone was enough to convince his superior, and his superior's superior, as well as the lawyers and judges who reviewed the petition. Perhaps they were being too lenient, but who would scrutinize a request made by All Might? And what a request it was. Tsukauchi glanced at the man sitting next to Toshinori.

"...Still, wasn't there anyone else available?" Tsukauchi, despite his tone, didn't mean this to be an ill-intended question, but it was easy to take it as such.

"The accusations were already dropped, my dad is not guilty of–"

"It's fine, Melissa. Policeman-san here is just raising a valid question. After all, I did commit a crime, and people got hurt because of me."

"Dave…" Toshinori looked at his long-time friend.

David Shield, former partner of All Might, and a genius inventor. When Principal Nezu spoke of plans to upgrade U.A.'s defenses, Toshinori first thought of his old friend and how he could be a great help with his unique insight and experience. But the main issue was David's legal condition, which is to say, he was doing time in prison. Domiciliary prison, but prison nonetheless. After what happened in I-Island, he was temporarily removed from the council and his permit to conduct research and development was revoked. Given how he was directly involved with the villains who infiltrated the island on the occasion, it was already a boon that he wasn't behind bars, so to speak. The judge determined his actions, while against the law, were not entirely responsible for the damage done, and he did display no ill intent by confronting the villains once they turned on him and revealed their real plan. So a lighter sentence was given, but he was still under surveillance.

Hence Tsukauchi had to ask one or two favors, why they needed All Might's name to back the request, and why David was still wearing cuffs. Last but not least, David was going to U.A. If there was a place with competent people, it was that place. In this arrangement, David would act as a consultant of sorts, not being allowed to "do" anything, realistically. But that could be easily handled by Power Loader, what they requested was the knowledge David had. As part of the arrangement, Melissa Shield would enroll in U.A.'s Support course for the time being. It was her request to stay near her father as much as possible. That was significantly easier to do than getting David here.

"I believe he can provide us with a unique perspective, Tsukauchi-san. And I trust my friend with all my heart." The simple answer got a smile from the detective.

"Well, if it's you saying that, I have no objections."

"Hmpf…" Apparently, Melissa wasn't exactly satisfied with this exchange, but there wasn't much she could say on the matter. She was probably the most shocked when her father's plan was revealed that night. She felt a storm of mixed and confused feelings, but after seeing her father get hurt, Melissa understood his reasoning. She didn't agree with it, but she understood.

But this was just a passing thought. Right now her mind was elsewhere, rather, focused on someone else. A friend she made on that occasion whom she grew rather fond of. After all, he did save her life and her father. That tends to leave a strong good impression on people, and Melissa was quite eager to see him again. When she butted in to say they had to take her along with her dad, Melissa didn't think Uncle Might would enroll her in U.A. Granted, it was also a guise to keep her safe, since she was a rather high profile Person of Interest, but it was one of the most prestigious schools of Japan and in the world, regarding heroes. It was where her Uncle Might studied to become the greatest hero, the Symbol of Peace. Even if I-Island had state-of-the-art technology and was spearheading many developments in support gear for heroes, one just didn't skip a chance to see U.A. from the inside, and to Melissa, it meant a chance to see her friend again.

"We haven't talked much since that time…" Melissa thought out loud, and it didn't go unnoticed by Toshinori.

"You mean Young Midoriya?"

"Eh? Yeah, we exchanged numbers but, how do I put it? The chance to talk never came, I guess?" She said, fiddling with a hair strand.

"I see. Despite your age and grade, you'll enter a second-year class from the support course. Third-year students tend to get a lot of attention and we don't want that. So you'll have plenty of opportunities to talk to him in person." Toshinori said with a grin on his face. Melissa's face lit up at the thought, which made her father laugh lightly.

"What?"

"Nothing, it's just… I haven't seen you that eager ever since Yagi offered to piggyback you through the New York skyline. You must really like young Midoriya, hahaha~"

"I-I-I just m-miss him, it's not like that, Dad!"

"Oh, not like what, exactly?~"

"You know what I mean! Daaaad!~"

The car got filled with more laughter and the woes of a slightly embarrassed young lady. She knew her father was jesting, but it was still annoying.

It was already nighttime when they arrived at U.A. Now uncuffed, David followed Toshinori to meet the principal and the team he would work with. As a consultant, of course. Meanwhile, Melissa would be guided to the dorms where she would be staying. Once there, the girl stood before the building for a moment. From what Uncle Might told her, this was a support course class, so everyone here was an inventor in the making, just like her. It filled her with anxiety and excitement, the kind of feeling you get on a roller coaster right before the cart goes down.

"Let's see what the number one school in Japan has to offer in the Support Course~," She said, taking a bold stride towards the door.

Melissa moved to knock, but as she stood in front of it, a laser mesh scanned her face. Then, the door that appeared to be wooden slid open in two with a faint hydraulic hissing. It seems she was off to a good start. As she entered the common room, Melissa found… nothing out of the ordinary. Or so it seemed, considering the door that slid close behind her. But more than that, there wasn't anyone around.

"Umm, hello? Anyone? I'm a–"

"Oi, you," A raspy and tired voice called from the kitchen. The owner came right after, with a can of energy drink in one hand and waving the other as a salute. "You must be, hold up, lemme check… Melissa, right? The transfer student."

The first thing Melissa noted about this guy was: that he had eight fingers in each hand. The second thing was the second pair of eyes, smaller and slightly above the "normal" ones, akin to the distribution of eyes in a spider. The secondary eyes looked at a small device on his wrist while the normal eyes looked at her. Melissa has seen her fair share of odd mutation quirks in her life, but even so, this was quite the first experience at U.A., which rendered her immobile for a moment.

"Eh? Oh, yes, I am." She answered, taking a short breath in to recompose herself. "I'll be joining your class from now on. Pleased to meet you." She said, making a polite bow.

The guy on the other side didn't seem amused at all. He took a swig from his energy drink and waved a hand.

"Sure sure, welcome or something. You from?"

"Texas, but I've studied on I-Island for the last four years."

"So this isn't your first transfer. I-Island, huh? No wonder your Japanese is good."

"Yes, since it is so close to Japan I–"

"Man, I need more coffee– oh, who's this?" A pinkhead came downstairs, yawning and rubbing her eyes. She quickly noticed one of her classmates standing there with an energy drink in hand, and someone she had never seen before.

"We're out of coffee, Hatsume, only energy drinks left. And this is the foreign transfer student." He pointed to the blondie, took another swig, and walked past Hatsume.

"Eh, a transfer student? Why didn't anyone tell me we would be getting one, Hacchiman?"

"Tsk, just call me Muchiro… And you would know if you paid attention to what Power Loader-sensei says."

To Melissa, who observed the scene with some sort of bewilderment, that felt like a somewhat recurring thing.

"Anyway, why don't you show the new girl around?" Muchiro suggested, not exactly giving the pinkette another choice as he climbed the stairs back to his room.

"Wait, why me?!" Hatsume said, then quickly turned to Melissa. "I mean– no offense, but why me?!" She turned back to Muchiro.

"Well, are you busy?"

"Umm, not exactly, but why don't YOU show her around?" Hatsume threw the question back at him.

Muchiro turned around and showed a wide smile.

"No can do. I have way too much work~" And with that, he quickly went upstairs.

"Oi, Hacchiman! If by work you mean your ROM hacks, it doesn't count! Oi, Hacchiman!" Hatsume complained a bit, but it seemed she was stuck with the task. Usually, it was she who was "too busy" to do the tasks. "It isn't fun when it's with me…"

With a sigh, she went into the kitchen, came back with two energy drinks, and tossed one to Melissa, who fumbled a bit before catching it.

"So uh, transfer student, huh?" Hatsume said, trying to strike up a conversation with the newcomer. Small talk wasn't her forte.

"Yes. As I was saying to your friend, I studied on I-Island before."

"The I-Island? Wow, quite the prestigious student, I assume. Some guys here would give an arm to enroll at the academy there, they have pretty neat internships. So why come to U.A.? Not that I find it bad here, but in terms of resources and contacts for inventors like us…"

"Oh, well, it's a little complicated but… basically, I'm following my father." Melissa kept in mind what her Uncle Might said about keeping a low profile.

"I get it, no worries. Well, it's a bit late but I can show you around the campus tomorrow. For now, let's get you settled in your room." Said the pinkette, taking a big swig from her drink. "Oh, my name is Hatsume Mei, by the way, but just Mei is fine."

"Pleased to meet you, Mei-san. I'm Melissa Shield. Oop–" Melissa answered in kind, but her eyes widened a bit when she realized she said her full name by impulse. Perhaps Hatsume wouldn't know her father, there was always a possibility.

"Shield, Shield… Hmm, the name does ring a bell for some reason– Wait, Shield? As in, David Shield?!"

Yeah, Melissa thought as much. For someone from the Support course from U.A. to not know about her father's work, they must have been living under a rock. Still, she wanted to avoid getting that kind of attention, as she was advised, so she quickly silenced the pinkette in front of her.

"Shhhh, could you please keep this a secret?"

Hatsume's hype was cut and swapped with confusion, but a glance at Melissa's face was more than enough for her to connect the dots. A transfer, her father being here, keeping things hush-hush, she got the gist of it. Something important was certainly going on.

"No worries, my mouth is shut." She said, making a gesture to close a padlock and throw away the key. Seeing the relieved expression on the blondie's face, Hatsume went to show the way to Melissa's room, which was apparently right next to hers. Great, they would be almost roommates. Thanks to the noise complaints, Hatsume's room had been relocated to the top, meaning she basically had the entire floor for herself.

"Still, what a small world. I never thought I would meet the daughter of one of the most prestigious inventors and scientists of our time," Hatsume said, stopping by the door to Melissa's new room. It was, in fact, right next to hers. "It's pretty cool, but I don't plan to stay behind, okay?~" She followed with a toothy grin.

"Umm, okay, I guess? Oh right, Hatsume-san, I know you're from the Support course but do you by any chance know someone named Midoriya Izuku?" Hatsume was on the way to her room but the moment she heard the name "Izuku", her head almost did a one-eighty. Melissa was slightly shocked by the rather unnatural and sudden turn radius.

"Midoriya Izuku?" The pinkette parroted to make sure she heard it correctly.

"Yeah, do you know him? He studies here at U.A. on the Hero Course and–"

"Where do you know my babe– ahem, where do you know Midoriya-kun from?" Hatsume practically jumped at her, holding Melissa's shoulders and standing so close to her face Melissa could see in great detail the pinkette's crosshair eyes.

"Oh, umm, we're… friends? I mean, I've met him back at the summer expo in I-Island, but we haven't been very in touch since then and–"

"Wait, Babe– Midoriya-kun went to I-Island? For the expo?!" She was inching closer so Melisss had to back off a little.

"Yeah, he and a few of his friends. Yaoyorozu, Uraraka, Jiro, Todoroki Bakugo, Iida–"

"AND THE OTHERS WENT TOO?!"

Hatsume's knees trembled and her hold on Melissa's shoulders loosened up, then she slumped on the floor, her head low, looking at the floor.

"Ha– Hatsume-san…?"

"Ah! Such a great opportunity, lost forever… and they didn't even tell me!" A few comical droplets pooled in her eyes.

"If you want to go so much I can give you an invite for next year, p-please don't cry, Hatsume-san!" Melissa said, trying to comfort the wailing girl in front of her. And like in a magic trick, Hatsume was back up, with stars shining in her eyes.

"Really?! Can you really do that?!"

"Yes, every year I get a few extra invites. It shouldn't be difficult–"

"Oh my– thank you thank you thank you thank you so much! You have no idea how cool that is!~" Hatsume said, all but jumping with excitement. Melissa laughed awkwardly. She seemed to be very enthusiastic about inventions, but again, she expected as much from someone in U.A.'s Support course. That level of excitement reminded her of someone in particular, and it brought back a fond memory.

"So I presume you and Midoriya are friends, Hatsume-san?"

"Oh, uh… yeah, we're… pretty close." Hatsume's excited mood gave way to a more shy and abashed one, for some reason Melissa couldn't imagine.

"So could you by any chance help me get to him?"

"Yeah, I can do that. Tell you what, we're going to see him first thing tomorrow morning, then I can show you around the campus. How's that?~"

"Sounds good to me. Thank you again, Hatsume-san."

"You can call me Mei. Any friend of his is a friend of mine too~" Hatsume said with a smile and a thumbs up, but then, she seemed to realize something. "Umm… you two are friends, right?"

"Eh? Yeah, we are." Melissa answered a little confused. Did she miss something?

Anyway, now she only had to settle in her new room. Even if it was temporary, she decided to make it comfy, giving the space a small feeling of "home". So Melissa brought a few things with her, mainly her tools and a few little projects she was working on. Lucky her, the support course dorms came equipped with a proper workbench and other simple tools. It felt more like a small studio, not bad at all. Otherwise, she packed lightly, not bringing too many clothes with her. If needed, she could source locally, although Melissa doubted she would find her exact fashion in Japan. Oh well, she might as well try something new since she was here, right?

After fixing everything, she flopped on the fluffy bed, looking up at the ceiling. She couldn't stop smiling. First of all, seeing her father back in his work field was great, even if just as a consultant. Second, she always wanted to visit Japan, the homeland of her Uncle Might. She heard so much about it from him that her curiosity had peaked and she spent a good while learning about the country, so finally being here was sort of a small dream coming true. Consider this one item scratched from her bucket list.

And then was the other other reason she was happy to be here, at U.A. of all places. Melissa really wanted to see Midoriya and the others, him more. Still, now that she was here, the blonde didn't know what to say when they met again. What exactly would they talk about? Support gear? Heroes? How was her school year ever since they met? It all sounded like reasonable topics, but she would be lying if she said that's something to be thrilled about. This is the kind of stuff you can talk about over messages, which they did for a brief while. From what she could tell, Midoriya only got more and more busy after that event in I-Island, and then there was the news about her Uncle Might.

She and her dad were shocked to see him in that state and thought it was a relief to know such a dangerous villain like All for One was locked up in Tartarus for good, it still worried them that All Might was out of hero duty. In her father's words, the gap All Might left in the public consciousness was too large to be filled by a single person. Melissa also followed the events involving that black creature and Endeavor. Later on, she saw some news reports on the blood cult that wreaked havoc for one night in many districts. Information was harder to come by being outside, but her research revealed Midoriya was directly involved in the case, as well as Kirishima.

Considering the scope of the cult's actions, heroes in training were probably tasked to auxiliate too. A few speculations were made about how this cult gathered such a large crowd and how they managed to give so much trouble to the heroes and police force. Some of the theories mentioned enhancing drugs and support gear being supplied to the goons, and the latter clearly caught her attention. Civilians using support gear was a rather controversial topic as well as the regulations on legal Quirk usage and, naturally, Melissa had a few opinions on the matter. Being quirkless gave her a rather unique perspective, and she understood why some people would be upset at being told they have to restrain themselves regarding what are essentially basic body functions. It would be like someone asking her to tie her hands because she could potentially harm someone.

But that wasn't the top priority in Melissa's mind, not by a far margin. Maybe small talk would be the best way. They haven't chatted in a while, there had to be stuff they could share with each other. And as a plus, she had something to show him too, a new prototype she began to work on after they parted ways. She was rather excited to show him and potentially ask for a test and evaluation. Just the thought made her feel giddy inside, but then the talk during the ride came back to her mind. She pouted, her cheeks gained a faint tinge of red, and she hugged the pillow close to her chest.

"I AM happy to see him again, but… not like that."

"That" could mean anything. Or so she told herself. Melissa had never thought about "those things" before, or at least not seriously. Her friends would ask about it and egg her into giving a name or a hint, but ever since Melissa gave up on being a hero, she had her goals perfectly set: becoming a great inventor like her father and helping heroes save people. And she had been giving her darn best to achieve this goal. The fruits of her labor were the awards she received, the recognition from I-Island Academy as an exemplary student, and last but not least, the heist attempt. Melissa was able to contribute despite not having a quirk or being a fighter, and her Full Gauntlet helped Midoriya in the last fight against that villain. So she wasn't concerned with what her girl friends called "boyfriend talk".

However, taking one or two steps back, purely on a hypothetical level, if Melissa had to choose, she thought a guy like Midoriya would make a good boyfriend. He was kind, brave, smart, and dorky in a cute way. Her friends would call him "top boyfriend material". So yeah, having someone like Midoriya as a boyfriend would be nice, she supposed. Hypothetically speaking, of course. Well, no use in dwelling too much on these thoughts. It wasn't as if she wanted a boyfriend.

"I wouldn't be opposed if that happened naturally, but it's not like I'm looking forward to it," She said to herself in a dismissing tone, then turned on the bed to sleep. She didn't know exactly how much early Hatsume meant by "first thing in the morning", and the trip was a little tiring anyway.

Then, she learned why this floor was empty, as she could hear some metal banging and arc welding noises coming from the other side of the wall.

The next morning came quicker than she thought. Despite the noises, Melissa slept like an angel, and she woke up to Hatsume knocking on her door. As she got up and opened the door, covering her mouth as she yawned, she met with the pinkette sporting a wide grin and visible bags under her eyes, as well as a smidgen of what looked like oil in her cheek.

"Good morning, Mei-san. Did you get any sleep?"

"Nope! But it's fine, I've done this before, hahahaha!~" She must be running on caffeine right now, Melissa thought to herself. Well, it's not like she didn't do similar things before, moved by the passion and enthusiasm for a specific project.

"Working on something?"

"Yes, but it's not ready yet. This project is for… someone." She said, looking into the distance with a gentle smile crossing her lips.

"A request, huh? I suppose you guys get a lot of them, being partners with the Hero course." Melissa pointed out, realizing U.A.'s environment was very conducive for aspiring inventors.

"Well, you can say that. Anyway, we're almost there, Iz– Midoriya stays at the 1-A dorms, you can tell them apart by the giant letter in the front."

The two girls made their way to the building. It was a peaceful morning, and a light breeze blew by. It was indeed very early so the sun was just rising about the horizon. Melissa admired the scenery for a second, she was really going to meet her friend again.

"Don't worry, Midoriya always wakes up early to do a morning jog, I'm sure he's already awake," Hatsume told the blondie, assuming she was thinking about the time.

And just like that, the pinkette opened the door. You could even say she kicked it open with how much strength she put into it. Again, blame the coffee.

"Good morning– eh, Babe?!"

And we're back to where we left.

The first thing both girls at the door saw was Midoriya and a blue-haired girl suddenly waking up and staring at them with surprised and slightly panicked expressions. On each side, there was at least one face the other didn't know, but even if that wasn't the case, the current situation could easily be mistaken, so to prevent things from derailing into a messy yarn ball, Midoriya went into explanation mode, vaulting over the couch and meeting with Hatsume at the door.

"Listen, this is not what it looks like, Nejire-senpai and I were just playing games until late at night and we fell asleep, that's all." Midoriya quickly delivered, holding Hatsume's hand and dragging her along with him, but then he did a double take at her companion. His eyes widened and his mouth hung open when he saw a familiar pair of blue eyes behind those red-framed glasses. "Ah– Melissa?!"

The blondie seemed just as shocked to see him, or rather, seeing him cuddling with some girl she didn't know first thing in the morning. Definitely not she expected to find upon their meeting. A couple of things went through her head, some of which made her heart beat faster, but she brushed those away, shaking herself from the shock state to greet her friend.

"Oh, uh, h-hi, Midoriya. How… how are you doing?" That didn't come out as well as she wanted. Meanwhile, the bluenette looked at this scene unfolding and Melissa couldn't help but steal a glance at her back now and then. The awkward silence between sentences didn't help either.

"I'm… fine, uh, what are doing here? I mean– It's great to see you, how have you been?" Midoriya made an effort to put himself at ease. Now was not the time to stutter and fumble, so he took a step forward and went for a hug.

"Oh– Great! I've been doing great," The hug caught her off guard for a moment but Melissa quickly gave into the warm hug, returning it in kind. It felt pretty good, so much so that she might have held on to it a bit too long for comfort. "And what about you?"

"Things have been rather crazy lately, but I'm doing great too," Midoriya said, letting go of the hug. That was a clear case of euphemism, but it wasn't wrong either. "Oh, right. I see you already met Hatsume." He said, turning to the pinkette next to them, who eyed them with arms crossed in front of her chest and a plain expression he had trouble reading.

"Yes, Mei-san has helped me settle into my room and is showing me around the campus. I asked her if she could help me to meet you first, though…" She fidgeted with a hair strand.

"I see, I see… wait, settle in? You mean here at U.A?"

"Yeah, she's a new transfer student of the Support course," Hatsume said, resting her hands on her hips. "She'll be in my class for the second year."

"But what about your fath-" Both girls then moved to silence his mouth, placing an index finger over his lips. Melissa then leaned in closer and whispered to him.

"It's supposed to be a secret, I'll explain it later." That seemed enough for him, Midoriya nodded, and then he seemed to remember of something else.

"Ah yes, girls, this is Hado Nejire, she's a third-year senpai–"

"Hi~ Nice to meet you, are you friends of Deku-kun?~ I know you from the Sports Festival and how often you and him have lunch together, Hatsume-chan, is it?" Nejire almost literally jumped into the conversation, getting up and close to the visitors. Hatsume had to lean back a bit but even so, the bluenette was up close and personal. At least she managed to nod in confirmation.

"And I don't know you but you must be a friend of Deku-kun. What's your name?~ Where are you from? Are you childhood friends, maybe?~ Or maybe you've met him abroad? How long have you guys been friends? Are you here to visit him?~" Now it was Melissa's time to experience Nejire's curiosity and energy, each question making her feel more overwhelmed.

Lucky for the blondie, Midoriya pulled the proverbial reins on Nejire.

"Slow down, senpai, one at a time, remember?"

"Oh, right. Sorry~" Nejire said, playfully sticking her tongue out and hitting her head.

As for Melissa, she still took a moment to process everything.

"Let's see, this random girl is a third-year student from the hero course, Midoriya's senpai, and she was sleeping on the couch with him just a moment ago. Okay…"

"Umm…" Melissa cleared her throat. "N-nice to meet you, my name is Melissa, I'm American and yes, Midoriya and I are friends. We uh, we met this last summer at the I-Island expo, and I'm here as a foreign exchange student. I think… I've answered everything?" Her mental checklist seemed complete.

"I see~," Nejire said, with what looked like a gleam in her eyes.

Was that such a big deal? The guys at the Support course didn't make it feel like it was a big event. Was Melissa missing something?

"Yeah, tell me about it. No, seriously, Midoriya, why didn't you tell me you went to I-Island?" Hatsume said, grabbing the boy by his shoulders and shaking him.

"I didn't?"

"No, you didn't!" She shook him even more.

"Sorry, me and the girls must have forgotten to mention it."

"How do you forget about a trip to I-Island! And nobody invited meeeee!"

"We were not that close back then- Hatsume, you're shaking me too much!"

"Mei-san, don't worry! I'll get you invites for next year's expo, remember?" Melissa tried to pry the emerald teen from Hatsume's vice grip but the pinkette wasn't letting go.

"I know but even so! I love that place! I've never been there before but I'm sure I will love it!"

Meanwhile, Nejire began to laugh at the comedic scene unfolding. Midoriya wasn't really bothered, she could tell from the big smile on his face.

What's more, the commotion early in the morning seemed to attract more people. More of the early birds from class 1-A came to the common room.

"Oh, good morning, everyone~"

Among the group were a few familiar faces, a brunette with pink cheeks, a purple-haired girl with earphone jacks coming from her earlobes, and a raven-haired beauty with long hair and an air of high class, even in the morning. The class president and the hardening hero were there too, and everyone was surprised to find Midoriya being shaken back and forth by Hatsume while Nejire-senpai greeted them.

"Huh? What is senpai doing here? Wait– you?" Iida started, but his surprise was doubled when he noticed who else was there at the door.

"No way! Hahahaha," Kirishima shouted, showing a toothy grin.

"Melissa-chan?" The girls said together, and in the next moment, they rushed to greet and wrap the blondie in a group hug. "It's Melissa-chan!~"

"Hi, everyone!~" Melissa greeted them back, returning the hug.

"So you guys really knew her!~ And nobody told me!" hatsume got even more agitated, and Midoriya got close to experiencing an extra G force.
