July 16, 2019. Newark, New Jersey. Night.
It was a dark and stormy night in Newark, New Jersey. Inside a house lived a 15 year old human boy with his 10 year old brother, Tommy. His real name was Thomas, though the people that knew him almost never called him by his real name. He was almost always called either Tom or Tommy. Tommy was named after the cartoon Tom & Jerry, a cartoon about a cat and mouse who chase each other. The main protagonist's name was Julius Kore. He liked to be called Julie, Julia or Jules.
Julius was a Caucasian human with dark brown hair and sky blue eyes. He was currently wearing a dark blue long sleeved hoodie over a cyan blue T-shirt. He almost always wore jeans. Julius almost always wore name brand shoes, like Nike or Air Jordans.
Tommy had light blonde hair, was also Caucasian, and had emerald green eyes. He was involved in a terrible bike riding accident 2 years ago. Julie and Tommy had just got done seeing the live action adaptation of the popular anime: Ghost in the Shell. Ghost in the Shell was Julie's favorite anime, second only to One Piece, Naruto and Dragon Ball.
Julie and Tommy were planning on riding their bikes on opposite sides of the street and then ride side by side of each other. Tommy was just about to cross the street, when he was distracted by his girlfriend Francine. Tommy had a major crush on Francine. Unfortunately, he was so busy trying to talk to Francine that he didn't notice the curb. His bike tripped on the curb and he fell. Tommy landed on his jaw. His jaw shattered like glass. Julie ran to his brother's aid immediately. What he saw would horrify him for the rest of his life. Tommy looked like as if he was dead.
Thankfully, he had a helmet on. Julie looked over Tommy. He saw that nothing else was seriously broken. Tommy's jaw on the other hand was a different story. Although Tommy was saved due to the helmet, the helmet was no match for the impact of Tommy's face hitting the side walk. Tommy was extremely lucky that his neck wasn't broken. Julie called the ambulance and the ambulance came over straight away. Julie cried for several days. Tommy was Ok otherwise. His knee was scraped and his arm had it's skin peeled off from the skidding of the fall. Tommy realized that he couldn't talk. Not only couldn't he talk, but he also couldn't eat solid food. When he had to eat solid food, he had to eat through a straw.
Tommy had to have a face apparatus to support his broken jaw. He often wore masks to cover his hideous face. Julius felt bad for his brother. The incident happened 2 years ago.
Julie was busy playing Uncharted: Drake's Fortune on his PlayStation 3. Uncharted was one of Julius's favorite video games for the PlayStation 3, including the God of War franchise, The Sly Collection, Jak and Daxter, and the Ratchet and Clank series, to name a few. Tommy was in the room as well, playing Pokémon Red And Blue on his Gameboy. He was a massive Pokémon fan. He had all of the Pokémon cards in his possession. Tommy had nearly all of the Pokémon games across several Nintendo handheld consoles. Julius stopped playing Uncharted after a few minutes. He decided to put in The Sly Collection into his PlayStation 3 console. Sly Cooper was one of Julius's favorite video game series. He played all 4 Sly Cooper games. He knew everything about the Sly Cooper games, including their plots and characters.
As the start up screen of the Sly Collection began, something strange happened. Very strange. Julius selected the Sly 2 game from the collection. All of a sudden, a bolt of lightning struck the television. There was a vortex. Julius and his brother Tommy got sucked into the television in warp speed. Julie suddenly felt a cold floor. He got up from the floor. He looked around. The setting looked awfully familiar. Julius was inside a museum. Not just any museum, but it was the exact same museum that was featured in the opening of the video game: Sly 2: Band of Thieves for the PlayStation 2. Julius couldn't believe it. There was no way that this was possible.
One minute, Julius and his brother were just about to replay Sly 2 from the Sly Collection for the PlayStation 3, the next minute, Julius and Tommy were teleported to the world of Sly Cooper. Now, Julius was in the beginning of the second Sly Cooper game.
Julie's P.O.V.
This is beyond insane. Here I was, in the Cairo Museum of Natural History, the very first level of Sly 2. I saw the pedestal that Sly would soon jump off of to get to the top of the T-Rex skeleton that would lead to the platform in which he would meet his friend Bentley. I walked around the museum a few times. My brother Tommy was nowhere to be found. Museums are very huge places. Anybody could get lost very quickly in museums.
All of a sudden, I saw a shadowy figure drop down from a rope and onto the ground. I quickly looked around for a place to hide, which was difficult, since there wasn't a lot of places to hide in a museum. I quickly saw a potted plant and ducked behind it. In front of me stood one of my favorite video game characters of all time; the one, the only, Sylvester "Sly" Cooper. He looked much more like his incarnation in Thieves in Time, but with the design of the second game. The raccoon brought out his binocucom and a familiar nasally voice was heard,
"Breaker Alpha Foxtrot this is the Wizard, do you read me Sitting Duck?"
'Bentley! Is this for real?' I thought.
"This is Peking Duck, I hear you Blizzard," said Sly. I held in a chuckle.
'I'll answer my question later.'
"No Sly, I'm the 'Wizard' and you're 'Sitting Duck.'" said Bentley.
"I read you loud and clear Lizard." said Sly.
All of a sudden, my cell phone ringtone went off unexpectedly. The main chorus of my favorite song: Havana, by Camila Cabello, blared out loudly. I pulled out my cell phone from my pocket of my jeans and saw that it was my best friend, Charlie Slick calling me. He was probably concerned about the lightning strike killing me. I quickly hung up on him. Sly was now right in front of my location. I hope to god he doesn't find me. The Sly Cooper games never had any humans in them. I was worried about what Sly's reaction would be when he found me. Would he freak out? Would he try to attack me?
Sly looked over the potted plant that I was hiding behind.
"What's wrong?" Bentley said in a worried tone of voice to Sly. "Nothing," said Sly. "Thought I heard someone singing behind that potted plant."
"I'm pretty sure that there's no one behind the potted plant." Bentley said. "It's probably just your imagination."
"Maybe." said the raccoon.
Sly turned around and walked back to where he was before. Sly and Bentley continued their conversation as normal. That was a fucking close one. Thank goodness Sly didn't find me.
"Yeah, I'm not. Look Bentley I know this is your first time out in the field but you've got to loosen up. If we're going to get to those Clockwerk parts I need you on your toes. So in plain talk what's your status?" Sly said.
"Well, I've established myself in the basement and I'm pretty sure I can rewire the service elevator if you can power it up from that security station." Bentley said.
"Hang tough pal, it may take some time, but I'll figure out a way to get up there." Sly said.
I quickly put my cell phone on vibrate to avoid any more unexpected interruptions. Sly put away his binocucom and took a look around the museum. I pressed my body against the glass in an effort to stay hidden. Fortunately, Sly jumped on the trampoline that was in the middle of the floor, he didn't notice me.
I followed Sly's path up the trampoline and across the bones that suspended from the ceiling. My heart froze when it creaked under my weight. But luckily, Sly was on it too at the time and he didn't seem to notice me. 'Thank goodness!' I thought. I flattened myself on the tailbone to stay hidden. I wanted to wait until the right moment to reveal myself. Sly pulled a lever and Bentley's voice was heard again.
"Okay I splice the wires…ouch! Hold on. There it is."
A green turtle with thick glasses soon came out of an elevator and started for the security computer. It was none other than Bentley. "Okay, okay let me at that security computer!" said Bentley.
It was now or never. I got up and jumped to the landing in front of me.
"Sly Cooper, I persume?" I said as I got up from my crouching position.
"Oh no!" Bentley spazzed out, waving his arms out spasticly. "The operation's exposed! Abort mission!" He had not turned around yet, so Sly was the one to state the obvious.
"A human?" Bentley slowly turned around at that word, "But...humans don't exist. Just who are you?" The thief raised an eyebrow at me, a clear anomaly in his, and apparently everyone's, eyes. I opened my mouth to speak when Bentley sputtered out practically a mile a minute,
"Gadzooks! A human? That's impossible! There's just no way! Wait a minute..." Bentley lowered his head as if thinking, or having just realized something.
"Dude, chill the fuck out. It's not the end of the world!" I said to the turtle.
Suddenly, my phone vibrated from my jeans pocket. I took my phone out. It was Charlie calling me again. If there's one thing you should know about my best friend Charlie, it's that he's always impatient and persistent. Whenever somebody doesn't answer his phone right away, he gets panicky and starts to call the person every 10 minutes. He's always like that, and I don't know why he does it.
"Charlie again." I said under my breath. I answered my phone, knowing that if I didn't answer, Charlie would keep calling me constantly.
"Hi, Charlie." I said to Charlie as I held my phone to my ear.
"Julie, where the hell are you?" Charlie asked me. "I thought you died when the bolt of lightning struck your TV!"
"Calm down, Charlie." I said. "I'm not dead. I'm perfectly fine."
"Thank god you're okay!" Charlie said. "Where are you?"
"Now's not really a good time to tell you where I am." I said to my friend.
"How's Tommy?" Charlie asked. "Is he with you?"
"Oh shit!" I said aloud. I completely forgot about my little brother Tommy. Tommy could be anywhere in this museum. "I completely forgot about Tommy. I'll talk to you later, have to look for my brother."
I hung up the phone. I ran past Bentley and turned right, in search of my little brother Tommy.
