it was a fantastic day on the island of sodor, all the engines were working hard pulling coaches and trucks about. One morning James was assigned to pull a special train to Knapford which made him curious and thought of admiration.
Hmm poundred James it's usually like this where an engine tells what this is for but i just got nothing to say right now.
That said, a familiar voice is a special coaches for visitors for a limited short period. The engine was Walt who had just prepared his next train.
How do you know about this? gasped james. I was told by the foreman who had just had his breakfast on the train s curiously. Well then said walt do as you please but i would not bump them if i were you said walt remembering how james's bootlace incident was a funny gag on sodor. It might break a coupling on the coaches and we cannot have that. indeed it won't James said miserably, he was feeling embarrassed about his own past with the coaches. He backed on the train and puffed away.
As James was pulling the train he even questioned his own doubts on the train, her lover Molly was very sensitive and usually quiet on special trains but to James is news to him it might be even more special for even guests to arrive. He left the train at knapford and puffed to the sheds for a well earned rest for the night. The next day, James had awoken to see sir topham hatt standing on top of duck which gave the attention to him to be prepared for his announcement. The engines saw him too and were ready for his attention.

James waited to hear his name but unfortunately it didn't go through his smokebox and never got him the chance to pull it. Thomas and Emily said sir topham hatt warmly.
I know you have been together for 10 years and do care for one another following the work before play rule quite nicely for most engines so as of today you will both pull the train together Thomas and Emily were very happy and excited.
Most of the engines were grateful, including Gordon. Usually he would complain nonstop but after the great race incident he became so positive towards the engine couple that they deserved to pull the train. James however was furious that he didn't get chosen but tried not to show it and appreciate the two engines who are going to pull it. As the engines went about their work
James was shunting the trucks for a goods train when he saw Molly coming by. Hello James, said molly. James didn't say anything which made Molly worried with fright. James, are you ok she said. Oh sorry my shining sun I was too busy thinking about the coaches that Thomas and Emily are pulling. Don't be too hard on them, said Molly softly.
One of these days you will get to pull it but at least you brought them there yesterday. James slightly smiled at that. I know I will but it is just hard to accept that with everyone he said with a sigh. Molly looked at James with a solemn face but said nothing. Look James I know I don't brag about the special I am giving but we live in better harmony for sodor plus the passengers and the goods are keeping us busy.
We have been together for eight years and some of your moods have not changed one bit. It's just the way you are supposed to. Hopefully you can understand that. And with that Molly puffed away to fetch her next train. James knew Molly was right and kept within his buffers. but then he had a naughty idea to be sure that he would pull the train.
Thomas' next train was to bring supply goods to his branchline and James bumped the cars so hard that made them cross,they were determined to get back at him But James was gone and Thomas was ready to pull the train. The cars looked at each other. We will save James later, said one of the cars. But for now let's play a trick on thomas.
Yeah, let's agree with each other and start to pass the plan to the other trucks.
Thomas coupled to the cars and then he was on his way. At first the cars behaved well. Thomas was very pleased that the cars were behaving nicely but Not knowing what was about to happen to him with their plan. When they came to Gordon's hill they started to halt back which made Thomas strained losing steam but he was determined to get up there. I can do it, I can do it, he puffed. At last he made it to the top of the hill. Thomas was sure he beat the trucks by a straight game but he was wrong.
Now said one of the cars. The cars bumped fiercely pushing Thomas down the hill at a tremendous rate. The trucks laughed and shouted on on on all the way. Thomas was in full panic mode; he didn't know what to do. He tried putting on his breaks but he couldn't. He tried everything but nothing worked. Then he saw the village.
Well said Thomas, at least the buffers will stop me.
But unfortunately there were no buffers between the village and the station; the trucks headed forward and bumped Thomas once more . Thomas closed his eyes waiting for his accident. The village was having a celebration of a party that they were having. The party goers stopped suddenly when they heard something from a distance. One of the village people saw Thomas racing towards them. Run, said the man.
And in no time at all they ran just a few inches to where Thomas was heading. The people got out just in time. Thomas' crew jumped clear into a haystack. All Thomas could say was horrors. Thomas crashed into a barbershop, a clothed store and a bakery until he came to a complete stop, almost crashing into a nearby home. Luckily no one was hurt but Thomas was derailed and laid on his side with a broken fence and flowers on his bufferbeam, he was in a terrible condition. The villagers came back to see what had happened and could see Thomas lying there in such pain. The trucks were very pleased with this.
We must help him recover, said the leader. The flower lady didn't care about her flowers. All she wanted to do now is to make sure Thomas was ok. And she phoned ahead to the nearest station as soon as possible. Soon sir topham hatt came to the scene along with gordon. Gordon himself was shocked to see the destruction of a village that would be called a horrific event and to see Thomas in such a poor condition as he saw them this morning he felt sorry for him either way. Thomas saw sir topham hatt and tried to open his eyes but one of his eyes was hurting so much he could not see properly.
Sir Topham hatt was not crossed with Thomas at all. What happened, said sir topham hatt. The trucks bumped into me sir. I don't know what happened but I think I am going to be in need of repairs for a long time said Thomas sadly. Sir topham hatt sighed. Well as far as i know you will be taken to the works to be minded. The villagers also helped you as well. He said they took care of you in need of being rescued and that is what matters in case of an accident. However you will be taken to the works by road since we can't lift you up with the crane . Yes sir replied Thomas but what about the train. Well i am afraid i will pick another engine instead of you replied sir topham hatt.
Thomas was upset and disappointed that he couldn't pull the train anymore. He was looking forward to it most of all and now he can't deal with the critical condition he's in, but then a little girl came with a get well card for Thomas, kissed his cheek and put ice on his injured eye. Thomas was in pain but smiled at the little girl for her kindness.
Soon Thomas was halted onto butch and headed straight to the steam works. All Thomas could think about is what Emily would say to this. But luckily enough Emily did not find out she just went on with her day feeling quite as usual. At last Thomas was at the steamworks being checked over; his accident was more severe funnel cracked, broken buffers, whistle clocked, boiler dented, breaks needed replacement and so much more Thomas was so upset to start his day so well to the worst. But then he heard a whistle and it was gordon.
Oh Gordon, what are you doing here? Said Thomas nervously, "You are not going to tease me, are you?" Gordon just sighed. The accident was not your fault little Thomas, the trucks may have been part of your accident but I am sure there is a reason and sure I will tease you here and there but today I will not. Thomas was surprised to hear this. Look, Emily may not know this yet but I do care about you Thomas even when you are in a relationship with her. You are a part of the steam team. You are like a brother that I have never had a bit annoying here and there but it doesn't matter because it's mainly my inner demon fault for doing it in the first place and sometimes I take responsibility for not shunting when I am supposed to because of my moto. My motos are grand and dignified to show how important I am because of how I view things my way. But in the next couple of weeks or maybe in a month I will learn how to shunt cars or coaches when you are being repaired. Thomas did not say anything. All he can say is thank you gordon and take the train for me and He closed his eyes. How long will he be in the works? Gordon said to victor nervously and will he make it in time to see the duke and duchess of sasix.
Victor just sighed remorsefully the accident was a horrific event and Thomas is now into a deep sleep which we call a coma. His repairs will be done in 3 weeks. We will have a night and day work crew to check him all over and repair him as soon as possible. But he will wake up once the repairs are done, said victor knowingly Gordon was worried but he knows now that the work will take some time for thomas to be repaired. He puffed away leaving Thomas to be repaired.
Emily was puffing into knapford sheds to get a goodnight sleep when he saw walt. Hello walt she said what are you doing here. I am on night duties, he said. I need to take a good train and then I need to help Thomas branchline with the milk and dairy. I will make sure to be back to greet you when you head on your day tomorrow. Ok said Emily, good luck and stay safe sweetie. I will do that, replied walt oh and thomas is sleeping at the works tonight. His breaks had jammed, so I will have somebody to join your company before you go to sleep. Thanks for the reminder, said Emily and blew a kiss to him. Walt blushed and puffed away.
Edward was Emily's company for tonight and they chatted for a while and went to sleep. While they did just that, an unfamiliar steam engine came rolling by trying not to wake them up. The engine's driver had alcohol in the cab, went on top of the water tower and dumped the tainted water inside. White the unfamiliar engine kissed Emily on the lips trying not to wake her up she smiled and the unfamiliar engine puffed slowly away.
Not sooner did the engine puffed away but Walt saw everything horrified at what he saw. James was all Walt could think of.
The next morning Emily was wide awake and her tanks were filled with coal and water not knowing that the water was tainted. She remembered her first alcohol when she was taking care of percy from the evil truck and motherly therapy. As soon as she got done with her second train she started to feel weird inside her boiler and it was something she was not used to. She started to feel and act funny and talked in an awkward funny way where she thinks it's funny but complete utter fear . Most of the engines were worried for her, even gordon. that 's not like her, he said knowingly. First Thomas, now Emily what other engine could be next.
Sir topham hatt saw this too. He was utterly horrified when he saw Emily like this. Can I get some more wine into my boiler? It would feel nice through the night air although it would not be the same as you deer. Sir topham hatt quickly canceled Emily's trains for the rest of the week and canceled her coach tour with Thomas; he soon noticed that the water tower had an alcohol bottle in front of the ladder. Close the water tower and make sure no engine is using it. Unfortunately Edward was also the one who got the tainted water taste in his boiler too. He could not puff properly and it started to burst in the pipes gordon took edward to the washdown. and sir topham hatt told Walt to fetch Henry at once to take care of emily.
Henry was at vicarstown when Walt puffed quickly in. hello walt what brings you here said Henry. You have to come with me henry, Emily has tainted water in her boiler again which makes the duke and duchess of sasix a little bit more puzzled about the arrangements and sir topham hatt once you to take Emily to the emergency washdown as quickly as possible. As soon as Emily is asleep she cannot figure out that she has that tainted water again plus there will be two new engines that will be pulling the train instead. Henry was surprised he didn't know about this, especially the special train. Thank you for telling me walt but who will pull the special coaches for our guests. I know one engine who will not be pulling it and he explained and told him everything and he did not leave every single detail out. By the time he finished Henry was very cross and red in the face. Does sir topham hatt know what engine is causing this trouble, said Henry sharply. I know the engine very well. I will tell him as soon as I get to knapford. It will not go unpunished, said Walt firmly. Right said Henry, let's go.
Henry and Walt puffed together side by side and agreed to split up once Henry found Emily sleeping and puffed slowly to her, coupled her up and moved quietly till they reached the nearest washdown where Edward was all better from a good washout. James meanwhile was having the time of his life he was pulling Emily's coaches for a change. What a laugh, what a laugh he chuckled to himself as he was puffing down the line.
He puffed up to the station where Molly was waiting. Hello James, I have been wanting to talk to you about something. Have you seen Emily today Said molly. Oh uhh no, said James nervously she's at the works to get minded. Oh ok said Molly not knowing he's the one who did these horrible acts these past few days. I heard what happened to Thomas too. I don't think you are the one responsible Jimmy, it could be someone else said molly softly James was hoping to be someone else. He was looking at the shot with his eye just facing the tracks smiling nervously. But I hope you have a great day, said Molly and she puffed away leaving a smiling nervous James behind.
At knapford station walt was telling sir topham hatt everything on what he experienced over that night with no single sentence left out. He was red in the face and very cross. Disgraceful out of all the engines I never knew him to be a naughty engine level at this rate. He wanted to prove a point to you to pull the duke of duchess of sasix coaches all by himself and said Walt crossly Thomas' accident was indeed him because he sorted all of the trucks last morning and bumped them fiercely. This made Sir topham hatt outrageous. I will talk to James as soon as I see him. I think we all need to talk to him, sir and give him a piece of our minds, said walt. Edward also got the tainted water too which did backfired him a lot. Edward got the tainted water too gasped sir topham hatt. Through the looks of things i saw edward puffing weirdly he's at the washdown now james will have a lockdown shed punishment. I can agree with you, let's go, demanded sir topham hatt he was just about to get in walt's cab when Walt had a vision in his mind of who can take the special coaches all over sodor. Wait sir said Walt. I know the two engines that can pull the duke and duchess around the sodor. He whispered it to sir topham hatt who agreed. Now then said sir topham hatt let's deal with that monstrosity.
He said and climbed aboard walt and he puffed away.
As Emily woke up from the emergency washdown he saw Walt with sir topham hatt on board. He's probably just puffing him around to see what the duke and duchess of sasix's would like to see she thought to herself. But She was wrong, Walt, Henry and Gordon puffed crossly filled with anger to tidmonth sheds to see James they were not happy and Walt was telling Gordon each detail on his perspective and he was very cross. Walt's right it will not go unpunished, said henry. All three puffed together like it was a parade of a punishment.
James had just finished his work when he saw Gordon and Henry puffing at each end of the turntable. He was surprised, hoping he did not get caught but he was wrong.
Oh gordon and henry what an unexpected surprise i was just taking a rest.
It's over james said Henry furiously. There's no turning back now. James was supposed to know what you were talking about. Look who's talking, snapped James what happened to you when broken down pulling the amount of trucks James snapped back. We are only talking about you and what you did alone, said Henry sharply. Emily is one of the best engines we had on sodor sure you and gordon teased her till sir topham hatt punished you. Thomas helping her to be herself, recovering her was the best thing he could've done. The horrible deeds has gotten the better of you, said gordon crossley, even if i can say that i learned from my mistakes from thomas departure to be blown up by a rogue pirate and my safety valve from the great railway show, i learned plenty of it but you have change a bit little james.
sure you might be the engine that can pull the express but you didn't think about how you would feel on the tainted water. How did you know gasped james. From the perspective of my own flare eyes, said walt. Walt puffed in the middle on the turntable. He showed his alter ego with James. His eyes were orange in flames with a black eyes to see how furious he was with him. Gordon and Henry saw this too; they never saw him like this before. Uhh walt are you ok said gordon. Walt did not answer Gordon right away; he just puffed forward towards James . Walt what's with your eyes, James shuttered. This is my beginning phase of when an engine threatens, harms or does anything suspicious towards my friends, James said walt crossly. James looked down at his buffers. You lied to me. I saw the entire situation of Emily getting drunk again and I saw Thomas's accident while I was going through his branchline.
James never knew he was watching him which made think twice about his actions further. Also continued walt did i also hear that edward got the tainted water too because he got some this morning. James was horrified; he could not believe it, his own friend falling for his trap; he didn't think that Edward was sleeping in the sheds that night and to go for a drink before heading back to his branchline. He could imagine checking before it went to action and now he was about ready to seal his fate. I could've thought better of you to show respect to Thomas and Emily to pull the train but mr. the showoff wants to pull the coaches to get fame and glory of his own. Walt please said James spare me. Your fate has been decided with the man in my cab. What man, what cab said James nervously.
James the red engine boomed a familiar voice. James knew who that was. It was a red sir topham hatt, he stepped forward out of walt's cab and went forward to james. You have caused a major eruption on my railway which includes causing confusion and delay. He said furiously, Thomas is in the steamworks in a deep sleep and won't be woken up until his repairs are done thanks to your truck accident in the village.
James feared that the trucks would have done it to him if he took that train. Emily is having a washout along with Edward because of the tainted water tower you have caused that night which caused both engines to get canceled for the special train. And the special coach of pulling it has been decided. And said walt he said to james did you kiss emily right in front of me.
All were surprised by this Sir topham hatt nor Gordon and Henry didn't think that was part of James's plan kissing Emily in her sleep thinking it was Thomas was a hateful thing to do. Oh what no I would not mean to… he suddenly saw Walt's teeth went from normal to sharp and started to glare crossly. James was now terrified he knew he had to tell the truth now before his life would end . yes said James sadly i did kiss Emily. Walt's teeth went back to normal when James spoke honestly. i should know by now how foolish it was and i know molly would be cross with me now. I also did not think that Edward was sleeping in Knapford sheds and it backfired on me as well. I am sorry to all of you and I'm sorry sir. I know now to take responsibility.
Molly would be cross with you; she might also put you into that field the accident you had years ago. but for your sake said Walt i will not tell her that you kissed Emily but the rest I will tell her that I hope you might be ready for your next visit with molly when you next come out of the shed. James looked at sir topham hatt who nodded with walt Walt's right he said for your punishment with further delays of the prince and princess of sasix's and for your schemes you will be remain in your shed until further notice and it could mean for the season James and also when you next come out of the sheds you will be on permanent good's work until i can trust you again that also includes pulling the flying kipper and owing Emily and Thomas an apology that's meaningful. I am very disappointed with you, James sir topham hatt continued. I should have punished you by locking you up in the sheds for teasing Emily but the out of use sidings was the best way to get out of your smoke box. After when you next come out of the sheds i hope you changed throughout the experience you have going forward on sodor. Yes sir sorry sir James said sadly he pleaded for guilt.
and one more thing said Gordon crossley, you will not pull my express until you can be more responsible to everyone. James feared that would happen but Gordon, I am your pal, you can't do that to me. I am your best engine that could do that job. After your actions towards the engines, said Gordon, I will and I must for the future. but Walt managed to push James further in the sheds. Walt had more to say to james. Jealousy doesn't mean to get through the accidents of others and doing harm to each other. maybe think about it before you do something more foolish. James felt more terrible than ever after that performance but he knew deep down Walt was right. Walt, Henry and Gordon left with sir topham hatt leaving James with a lot more to think about. Perhaps my scheme was a bit too far out of my buffer and upset everyone James thought to himself and now I am paying for it. And he started to think on what to say to Thomas and Emily when they next met.
That night Walt went to Knapford sheds to sleep for the night. Emily was there too and now finds out about the second tainted water he had in her which makes her feel terrible and ashamed. She also heard that Walt saved her life by checking the water tower with sir topham hatt. Walt puffed into the sheds to see Emily smiling. I see that you came to the sheds that night to witness it all the next day you saw me weird and you saved my boiler walt, you took action and i am very thankful for that walt. said Emily softly. Yes I could not let a couple go down to waste, he said honestly. Emily blushed. Did you know who caused the mess? Emily questioned him. Yes replied , Walt and James did not go unpunished. Emily was shocked by this. Why just because of jealousy, said Walt firmly. Well it serves him right for doing this for the second time please do not let any engine do this to me. Pleaded emily. Walt smiled, nothing will ever happen to you I promise. Said walt softly
Emily was relieved she then thought of something else. who will pull the train now. Because Thomas is at the works for quite some time, Walt said ominously Gordon will be pulling the special coach now along with Rebecca who is new and I think they will be splendid together. She has never pulled the special before so I think that suits her to let her have the special instead of james. I am disappointed that I can not pull the train. Emily was saddened but smiled but I am glad that it got sorted out. I'm surprised that Gordon and Rebecca are lovers now. I did not think they loved pulling the express together. I didn't think too much either, Walt replied. But I can see why. You will not pull trains for a week Emily after the alcoholic got into you. But I will come by whenever I can to see how you are doing. Thanks walt.
Then Emily got an idea she never did this to any engine besides Percy because Percy was her son but his second lover with her bossy mood was walt and he tried to help her out but he got nothing in return now she finally got her chance.. You know Walt, said Emily softly, Thomas and I are lovers. I think you are my second lover of interest even if I was bossy at the time but you and Thomas still helped me get through . I never got the opportunity but until now Emily buffered up to Walt which shakened him a little bit. Don't worry she assured him I won't go too far as to what I did with Thomas but I think you deserve a thank you present for saving me.
Emily pushed Walt nearer to the sheds giggling at herself but went very careful for Walt's present and it was a shower of kisses but only going for his cheeks, chin, and his nose. Walt was surprised at his gift but he embraced it. You could say second lovers are mentioning for said Emily. Walt did not say anything. But then she stopped suddenly after a few minutes and let Walt go. I hope you like your present. Chuckled Emily. She then went happily to sleep.
Walt stayed awake a little longer. To look at the stars and imagine a steam engine that is looking for an engine one day she will be here for me, Walt said quietly to himself and soon he fell asleep too.
Gordon and Rebecca did pull the train together. They had a splendid time together. Thomas was still asleep at the steamworks being repaired. But he let out a smile within a sleep. His wish was granted within himself. The prince and princess of sasix's had a splendid time so they talked to Gordon and Rebecca even Emily who has been granted to see them in her shed saying that they are really useful engines. But as they got back to the coaches the princess spoke kindly to her.
You did have a rough start to take us but I can see why you aren't ready but appearances that are meant to be royalty does not matter. You are much more of it. I could say a better looking engine you are so to speak. Emily blushed by this and gave her a wink. Thank you, your majesty, she said. Tell Thomas that you and him are the best couple on sodor that no else could. Emily just smiled. She suddenly had a tear in her eye but it was for joy that she was able to meet them herself. Then the princess got back on the coach and Rebecca puffed away. Emily Smiled that she got to see the prince and princess of sasix's. She felt better now. Walt puffed into the sheds that night looking at Emily cheerfully.
It looks like you got a chance to meet the royalty, Walt said knowingly . yes i did Emily smiled. It was a good thing they stopped by, otherwise I would be glad to see them at all . Well that's good to hear, oh i forgot to mention one thing. What is it said Emily. I told you Thomas was at the steamworks right. Emily nodded. Thomas was at the steamworks for a reason he had an accident which is horrific he is in severe damage. The crash was at the village which is being repaired now by Jack and the crew. His repairs will be a while like 2 weeks in advance Emily gasped she didn't think that Thomas was at the works for quite a long time. So that's why I didn't see him all day yesterday and throughout the week. Thank you walt she said. He was also worried about what you said about the crash. Emily completely understood did the people get hurt, said emily. Thankfully no people got out just in time before Thomas crashed and they did help Thomas afterwards feeling like he was home. Emily was grateful for that. Well I am off to sleep, said Walt . Wait, said emily. Did James get punished and be found out? Yes Emily, he did the last minute we arranged. James will be spending time in the shed for a whole season because of your tainted water and Thomas' accident situation plus putting you in harm's way. And Walt went to sleep. Emily had another question but she decided to wait until tomorrow. She looked at the stars peacefully. She whispered good night to Tommy. I love you and always will. And with that she falls asleep with Walt by her side.
The next morning it was the final day of the prince and princess' last day and both chose Emily to take them to the sodor airport just to stretch her wheels. Sir topham hatt agreed and told Emily to be extra careful today. Emily puffed out of the sheds. She was more excited but she knew patients and being wise is only the trick for her. She coupled to the coaches and she set off to the airport. She didn't know that Thomas would be out of the works today since he woke up and was fully repaired and requested victor to go see Emily at the airport. Victor agreed and Thomas puffed away. Emily was a few moments to the airport when she heard a whistle.
That's odd, Emily thought.
As soon as she got to the airport she saw Thomas waiting for her. Emily could puff in his direction but she had passengers in the train and she went slowly at her pace. She stopped at the platform where the prince and princess stepped out and saw Thomas right beside emily.
Now that's what I like to call a big surprise said the prince. Thomas blushed slightly as the prince and princess looked at the engines. Now would you mind being photographed so that we can show the whole world what really useful engines are all about. Yes Please your majesties they said. And they took pictures. It only lasted 5 minutes before they were done. Finally they went back on to the platform. They smiled. Sodor will always be our next adventure through and through to have a good railway with no hesitation and I hope your railway is as good as my word. And with that they hopped on board Jeremy. And they flew all the way back to Britain. Thomas and Emily smiled.
I didn't not know you were coming back, said Emily. Well just want to surprise the guest and you for a surprise that's all. I also hear walt took care of you, said Thomas. Yes, he did said Emily softly. So what did i mi… Thomas questioned was interrupted by a kiss from Emily on the lips which meant she missed him dearly. Thomas embraced it. They soon went home buffer to buffer Straight to tidmonth sheds. Where he was greeted by Edward, Percy, Gordon, Rebecca, Nia, Henry and Toby. Thomas was glad to see his friends.
James, who was inside the shed didn't say anything, he just looked at his buffers in shame in defeat. Thomas was so looking forward to falling asleep with his friends. But he saw Emily almost at the turntable. Where are you going said Thomas. Oh just to thank Walt for his company. Ok said Thomas but be back here as soon as possible she puffed away I hope Tommy doesn't worry she added.
Walt was heading back to his own sheds when he saw Emily buffer to buffer with him. I just want to thank you again for saving my boiler. Anytime Walt said happily I saw Thomas back today he was in a good mood. He is but I forgot one little present that i should give to you And who was the engine who kissed me while i was asleep. Walt thought for a moment then it dawned him.
The engine that kissed he thought would be funny was James. He thought he would pretend to be Thomas for a good luck charm. Emily gasped and was cross at James for doing such a horrible thing. Out of all the engines, said Emily furiously. I just want to… Easy Emily replied Walt there is a narrator that is typing and reading this. Emily just fumed; she also looked at the camera to be safe. just bumping him is all i can say she said finally.

She suddenly kissed him on the forehead to calm him down which did the trick.
