Hello, everyone! At long last, we are all back together again. I am so excited to share this project with you. This has been the culmination of years of work and experimentation. I certainly hope you will find it a satisfactory conclusion to the Adventure saga.

Let's get to it. No opening crawl in this chapter. That will be for next time ;-)

"King Drasil, a transmission has come in for you."

A dark figure dressed in a black cloak looked up from its perch on a hilltop. Its body was completely concealed by the cloak, not giving any idea of what it looked like. All that could be seen were its red eyes, which stood out from the darkness of its hood.

Down below, a large swarm of many creatures – land creatures, sea creatures, and creatures of the air washed over the land like an evil flood. From its vantage point, the figure saw the large toll the battle had taken. The scent of death was so strong as it wafted up to his position.

The figure retreated into a pod of trees packed closely together, leaving its minion to follow behind, to hear the message. Once it was sure that it was alone, it took the circular device in its metal hand and pressed it to allow the transmission to come through.

A small, blue hologram appeared before it. The figure on display also wore a dark cloak with the hood completely covering their head. A long braid of red hair with an azure blue butterfly hairpiece at the end of it poked out from under the hood.

"The Destined Jedi are being taken care of, my master," a feminine voice said with a grainy texture to it due to the transmission.

The cloaked creature smiled under its hood. Its apprentice was doing exactly what it wanted to great results, it seemed. At long last, its dream could finally come true. At long last, its greatest foes will have been removed.

"Very good, my young apprentice," it replied in a low, metallic voice. "The attack here has already begun. In a few short hours, not only will the Destined Jedi be out of the way, but the Digital World will be saved from their pestilence and can begin anew."

"I only have seven of them right now," the apprentice said. "But I have a feeling the rest will be coming to me shortly. And when they do, they will join me willingly or die, Master."

The news kept getting better and better. Why had it wasted all this time on those other two failures when it could have just gone to her this whole time? She was the perfect apprentice. King Drasil could not be more satisfied than it was now.

"Good." King Drasil breathed with excitement. "Good. Giving you Eosmon to take out the Destined Jedi proved to be the right decision. You have done well, my apprentice. Now, finish the job as I complete our revenge on Homeostasis and end this destructive conflict."

Its apprentice bowed before it. "Thank you, my master," she said.

The hologram vanished.

Just as it did, King Drasil sniffed the air. A familiar scent wafted along the wind with the scent of the battle below. The great lord's eyes brightened in delight and a low, rumbling breath of excitement came from its throat. Its greatest enemy had finally appeared. This time would be the last.

"My king," the Digimon from before – a creature with the legs and end of a horse and the torso of a man wearing a helmet – said as King Drasil emerged from the trees. "The battle is almost ours. The rebels are in full retreat. At last, we shall end the war."

King Drasil nodded. "Yes, Centarumon," it replied. "But for there to truly be peace, all the troublemakers must be eliminated. It seems my greatest enemy has finally decided to stop hiding and appear."

"Let me help you, my lord," the centaur Digimon said, bearing its spear close.

"No. I must face Homeostasis alone. Keep deploying the remaining legions. We will not stop until all pockets of resistance have been crushed. Slay them all."

Centarumon backed away with a bow. "Yes, my lord."

It then trotted away to lead the remaining platoons into battle.

King Drasil summoned a large cloud of black shadow to carry it off to where it sensed Homeostasis. The great battle had now begun.

The shadow drifted across the dark sky like a silent plague swept through the night to infect its unfortunate victims. King Drasil watched with pride as its army destroyed any and all who lay before them. Because of this, Homeostasis had finally been flushed out into the open like King Drasil had anticipated.

Soon, it smelled the scent of its nemesis. King Drasil darted down toward a stone platform jutting out from a cliff. A small speck of light was there. The black shadow hit the stone ground and spread across it like a wave coming to rest on the shore.

The shadows vanished to reveal King Drasil. It now stood just a mere ten feet from the small ball of light. Its red eyes scanned the light like a lion stalking its prey. This was a battle King Drasil had looked forward to for a long time.

"There is nowhere else for you to run now…Homeostasis," it said. Something shot down its sleeve and landed into its hand. King Drasil didn't need to look down to know its lightsaber had come to its hand. "Stop running and hiding behind your little pawns. Let's settle this conflict right now."

The ball of light flickered as a robotic voice came from it.

"King Drasil, harmony cannot be achieved by these destructive means," it said.

The dark Digimon hissed in anger. "It only won't because you insist on using humans to solve the Digital World's problems. We do not need them! I only want what is best for the Digital World. Join me, Homeostasis."

"No. There will not be a Digital World to save if this destruction continues," Homeostasis replied. "I guess I have no choice."

Snap-hiss

King Drasil's red lightsaber jutted out of the hilt. The blade hummed anxiously for battle.

"Have at thee."

Dark clouds swirled in the air around the mountainside. The two adversaries stood on opposite ends of the platform.

After several weeks of fighting alone, King Drasil felt insulted that Homeostasis was fighting it this way. It was holding back and not fighting the way the dark Digimon had hoped. In what it had hoped would be a clash for the ages, King Drasil was sorely disappointed.

"Why are you holding back against me?" it asked. "Bad form, Homeostasis. I want you at your best, otherwise the victory is meaningless."

The ball of light flickered, but did not make a reply.

King Drasil cocked an eye at this perceived insult. It took steps toward Homeostasis. The evil Digimon then stopped when it heard the light speaking at a low voice. The way it spoke made King Drasil realize it was speaking to those humans it had chosen to get in its way.

A large, metallic hand reached out and grabbed the ball of light. Now was the time to announce itself to these humans.

"Hello, pathetic humans," it cackled, interfering with Homeostasis' transmission with the Destined Jedi.

Some of the humans on the other side of the discussion responded to it in turn. It chuckled at their responses.

"You have no idea the wrath that is about to be unleashed upon you…Destined Jedi. You pesky brats have foiled my plans time and time again. Now that you are all losing your power, the age of the Destined Jedi is coming to an end. But uniting the Digital World under my banner is not all I want. What I want is to make sure the Destined Jedi can never come back."

A burst of light blasted out from its hand. King Drasil stumbled back from the sheer brightness of it and let go. Within three seconds, the light slowly died down. King Drasil stopped covering its eyes to see what had happened.

A tall, human-like creature with long, flowing white hair had appeared where the ball of light was. Its face was soft and narrowed with pointed ears on the side. Its skin was light and fair. The creature was dressed in a white kimono that ended just above its ankles. A lightsaber hung off the side of its obi. The eyes opened to reveal multi-colored orbs, and they stared right at King Drasil.

King Drasil smirked. Unlimited power radiated from the being across from it. This was the real Homeostasis.

"At long last, you have shown your true self, Homeostasis," it said as it pointed the saber at Homeostasis. "Now, the real battle can begin. I've been looking forward to this for a long time."

"Be careful what you wish for, King Drasil," Homeostasis replied in turn. It plucked the saber off of its sash and activated the weapon. The blade was pure white.

The two adversaries then slowly circled each other around the platform. King Drasil was anxious to begin the battle, but it knew that those who were patient gained the greatest rewards.

A sharp breeze of wind signaled the start of the battle. Blink and one would have missed the start. Their sabers slammed against each other, trying to find that one opening to turn the tide of the battle in either one's favor. Both duelists were evenly matched, so that was not an easy task.

King Drasil grunted in frustration as it and Homeostasis tied their sabers together. Maybe it had been the constant battling for weeks and not being able to break Homeostasis by this point, but it was ready to end this battle. A small smirk rose on its lips. That could work.

While keeping one hand on its saber, King Drasil took the other off and shot a string of liquid at Homeostasis. A sweet smell permeated the air. It then heard Homeostasis' breathing become more laborious and heavy. The plan was working.

Now having seized the upper hand, King Drasil broke the saber lock and kicked Homeostasis in the stomach to knock it down. Holding the saber high over its head, it brought it down with all its strength to slice its opponent's lightsaber in two.

King Drasil had finally emerged victorious. But it was not done with Homeostasis just yet.

"You belong to me now," it said while pointing its blade at a disoriented Homeostasis. "I am your master."

Homeostasis said nothing for what felt like ages. King Drasil allowed more of the liquid it shot to slowly drip down its arm, surrounding the two of them with a cloud of the sweet scent it emanated.

With this extra pressure, Homeostasis now spoke.

"Yes…my master."

So now King Drasil has corrupted Homeostasis. What impact will this have on the future of the Digital World? Find out as we go along.

Short and sweet to set up what is to happen. I am very excited for how this story is going to go. You'll all meet our wonderful OC characters soon enough. We still have one more major event to set things up before you all get to meet them.
