So, started rewatching Rebels to purge myself of the awful Ahsoka show. Started thinking about how a reunion between Lando and Hera would go and this is just how it turned out.

Rebellion Base

Mid-Day

Hera Syndulla walked through the base, running a hand over her face with a sigh. It had been a long week. A long few years, actually. While the destruction of the Death Star had been a major win for them, the abduction of Han Solo and the attack on their Hoth base had been a blow to moral and their numbers. Some days, it felt like they were fighting a losing battle.

But she couldn't give up. Kanan and Ezra's sacrifices couldn't be for nothing. She couldn't let her son grow up in a galaxy ruled by the empire. She wouldn't.

She rounded the corner, pausing as she stared at a familiar face, wondering if she was so tired she was beginning to hallucinate.

A few feet away, Lando Calrissian was talking to a Wookie, which nodded before walking off. Lando turned around, about to walk off as well when he paused, seeing Hera.

"Hera?" Lando asked, sounding as surprised to see her as she was to see him.

Which ruled out a hallucination, Hera mused. If she was hallucinating Lando, he'd be trying to con her the way he had conned them years ago.

"What are you doing here Lando?" Hera said as she crossed her arms, eying him with a look that caused him to wince.

"Passing through, getting Intel," Lando said and she shot him a skeptical look.

"Are you saying you're part of the Rebellion?"

"I have friends who are. I'm…working it out, I guess you could say. I made some mistakes that hurt people, I'm trying to make it right," Lando said with shame on his face and a beat passed between them. "I heard about Kanan. I'm sorry."

"Thank you," Hera said, softening just a bit at the mention of her late love.

"Probably won't mean much coming from me, but for whatever it's worth…Kanan and I didn't see eye to eye, but he seemed like a good man from what I could tell," Lando said and Hera didn't need to be a Jedi to know he was telling the truth.

"Thank you, Lando," Hera said, eying him thoughtfully for a moment. "I'm not sure what happened to you, but you seem…different."

"Trying to be. Not sure someone like me can change," Lando said honestly and Hera smiled.

"You should have seen Ezra when we first met him. If he can change, anyone can," Hera said and Lando laughed.

"Maybe. I need to prep my ship before heading out again. It was good to see you, Hera," Lando said.

"Can't believe I'm saying this, but it was good to see you too, Lando. If you do decide to join the Rebellion officially, I'm sure we could use a man with your skills," Hera said before walking off.

Lando stared after her for a moment before turning and heading towards the hanger where the Falcon was docked. No time to waste, they needed to find Boba Fett. Because wherever he was, Han would be.

I apologize if Hera seems OOC, but hope you all enjoyed it anyway.
