Chapter 29

Remy's POV

The SIC and head of Operations Planning in the Boston office are on a Special Ops mission. Tank has been sent to Boston to fill in as SIC and Santos is there as head of Ops Planning. Binkie and Brett are on the same Special Ops mission. Mom says it's like a kids' game called Fruit Basket Upset, except the Rangeman version isn't fun. Ram is taking lead as head of Ops Planning in Trenton and Mom's Man and Mom are trying to fill in for Tank plus performing their own duties. Vince and Ramon were already on a temporary assignment in the Miami office. Mom's Man says he's going to install a revolving door so we can officially meet ourselves coming and going. We did pause to observe Veterans Day - that was never in doubt. Who knows where everyone will be on Thanksgiving. As long as our guys make their check-in calls on their mission, all will be well!

This whole thing has me in a tizzy. My guys aren't where they are supposed to be. How can I herd them when they are in three different states and who knows where else? I wish I could pull my head into a shell like Freddy. Mom thinks my Dad Diesel is hovering around the periphery of our guys on their Special Ops mission. Dad D is a great weapon! I don't get to see him as often but that's a small price to pay for him watching out for my guys.

Mom is feeling guilty that I only get taken on two walkies per day. Or three. She called my Grandpa Plum and had him pick me up in his cab and drive me to the pet store to see Shannon. Mom even gave Grandpa her black Amex card. Retail therapy, here I come. It was great to see Shannon and I got a dog treat. Or two. I was surprised that I had room for the Puppuccino that Grandpa got me after we shopped. Btw, I added a stuffed pig and a stuffed cow to my collection. Yee haw.

Mom let me sit in on the Zoom call this morning with Tank and Santos in Boston. So, Zoom calls are fine but I get told that my zoomies are too rambunctious! So unfair. At the end of the call Santos told me that I need to be making a list of stuff I want Santa to bring me for Christmas. What more could I want? I live in a very nice building, have a pet of my own, work with a great group of people, have important duties plus yummy food and treats, and lots of toys and walkies. If I were Mary Tyler Moore, I'd be throwing my beret in the air right now!
