Endorsements
The next morning after having breakfast and packing up their camping gear, the boys enter Motostoke where they plan to earn endorsements so they can do the Gym Challenge.
"Okay, guys; we need those endorsements so we can take on the Gym Challenge." said Stan.
"Yeah." said Kenny. Kyle walks to a shop that had a sign that had the image of a man and a coffee cup.
"This is it, guys; the Battle Cafe." said Kyle.
"This is where your mom works, Kyle?" asked Kenny.
"Yeah; she's the assistant manager here." said Kyle. "This is where I have to earn my endorsement." They entered the cafe. Looking around, Cartman sees a display shelf with many cakes.
"Can we get some cake, you guys?" asked Cartman.
"We're here so I can get my endorsement, fatass, not stuffing your fat face." said Kyle.
"Screw you, Kyle!" said Cartman. Kyle walks to the front counter where a man with brown, graying hair, wearing a white and black, plaid dress shirt, yellow tie, brown suspenders, brown pant, and shoes was standing behind.
"Excuse me, dude, but are you the Cafe Master?" asked Kyle.
"Yes I am; how may I help you?" asked the man, now identified as a Cafe Master.
"I'm Kyle Broflovski; I'm here for an endorsement." replied Kyle.
"Oh, you're Sheila's son?" said the Cafe Master.
"Yeah, dude." replied Kyle.
"I'll be glad to give you an endorsement, but only if you can beat one of my employees in a one-on-one Pokemon battle." said the Cafe Master. He turned towards a teenage boy, wearing a white dress shirt, black vest, and shoes, and a brown apron, who was setting a cup of coffee on a table for a woman sitting at it.
"Walter." said the Cafe Master, getting the boy's attention. "I want you to have a Pokemon Battle with this boy here."
"Yes, sir." said the boy, now identified as Walter. The Cafe Master turned towards Kyle.
"Walter's quite the battler; two-time employee of the month because of it." said the Cafe Master. Soon, Kyle and Walter stood in the middle of the cafe while Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and the Cafe Master watched. Kyle and Walter each pull out a pokeball.
"Alcremie, go!" said Walter, throwing a pokeball and releasing a light green, humanoid Pokemon that looked like it was made of whipped cream with two, green, clovers on its head. Stan takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Alcremie, the Cream Pokemon, and the evolved form of Milcery. The moment it evolved, it took on an aromatic flavor. This is because of the way its cells spontaneously shifted during evolution." said Stan's Rotom Phone.
"I wonder how that Pokemon tastes?" asked Cartman.
"Don't even try it, wide load." said Kenny.
"Thwackey, go!" said Kyle, throwing his pokeball and releasing his Thwackey. "Thwackey, Screech!" Thwackey lets out a loud shriek and releases soundwaves onto Milcery, weakening its defense.
"Milcery, Decorate!" said Walter. Alcremie releases a stream of cream up from its head and lands on top of it, leaving a creamy swirl. Alcremie begins surging with energy and its attack strength increases.
"Thwackey, Branch Poke!" said Kyle. Thwackey leaps at Alcremie and hits it with one of his sticks.
"Milcery, Sweet Kiss!" said the Walter. Milcery floats over to Thwackey and kisses him on the forehead; he begins stumbling around.
"Oh, crap! Sweet Kiss confuses the Pokemon it's used on." said Kyle. "Thwackey, Double Hit!" Unfortunately, confusion gets the better of Thwackey and he hits himself with one of his sticks.
"Alcremie, Tackle!" said Walter. Alcremie floats at Thwackey and rams him.
"Double Hit!" said Kyle. Thwackey was able to fight through his confusion; he leaps at Alcremie and hits it with both of his sticks.
"Alcremie, Draining Kiss!" said the Walter. Alcremie floats to Thwackey and kisses him, draining some of his stamina and healing some of its wounds.
"Razor Leaf, Thwackey!" said Kyle. Thwackey snaps out of his confusion and swings his head, releasing leaves from the ones on his head and they hit Alcremie, knocking it out. "Way to go, Thwackey!" Thwackey raises his arms up and cheers.
"Kyle did it!" said Kenny.
"Never doubted him for a second." said Stan.
"I did." said Cartman.
"Shut up, fatass." said Stan. Walter returns Alcremie to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Milcery." said Walter. The Cafe Master walks over to Kyle. "That was quite an impressive battle; so impressive, I am definitely going to give you an endorsement, Kyle."
"Thanks, dude." replied Kyle. The Cafe Master walks to a back office and comes out with a letter in his hand.
"Here's your endorsement letter, Kyle." said the Cafe Master, giving Kyle the endorsement letter.
"Thanks, dude." said Kyle. A minute later, the boys walked out of the Battle Cafe with Cartman eating an entire chocolate cake.
"Congratulations on winning your endorsement, Kyle." said Kenny.
"Thanks, dude." said Kyle as he looks at his endorsement letter.
"So where does your mom work, Kenny?" asked Stan.
"At the train station here in Motostoke as a conductor." replied Kenny.
"Whoa; that's a big step up from being a dishwasher at Olive Garden." said Kyle.
"Yeah, the people there gave her plenty of training." said Kenny. "Mom divorcing Dad and moving me and Karen here were the best decisions she's ever made."
"I'm happy for you, dude." said Stan.
"Me, too." said Kyle.
"At least you don't smell like ass anymore." said Cartman.
"Especially your ass, Cartman." said Kenny.
"Shut up, Kenny!" said Cartman. The boys finally reach the Motostoke Station and head inside. There, they see an employee checking on a train's engine.
"Excuse me, sir." Kenny says to the employee, getting his attention.
"Are you lost, young man?" asked the employee.
"No, I'm here to earn an endorsement so I can do the Gym Challenge." answered Kenny.
"Oh, you're Carol's son?" asked the employee.
"Yeah, I'm Kenny." said Kenny. The man checks one last thing on the train's engine and closes the panel that it was behind.
"Let's head outside and battle." said the employee. "I don't want to risk damaging the trains; they're a part of everyday life here in Galar."
"Okay, sir." said Kenny. The five head outside, with Kenny and the employee standing apart from each other while the others watch. Kenny and the employee each take out a pokeball. The man throws his pokeball, releasing a black Pokemon that looked like a mine cart made of stone that's piled high with coal, along with a head on the rim of the cart. Kenny takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Carkol, the Coal Pokemon, and the evolved form of Rolycoly. It forms coal inside its body. Coal dropped by this Pokémon once helped fuel the lives of people in the Galar region." said Kenny's Rotom Phone. Kenny takes out his Rotom Phone and throws it, releasing his Gyarados, surprising the employee.
"You have a Gyarados?!" asked the employee.
"That's right." said Kenny. Gyarados glares harshly at the Carkol, making it nervous, and weaker. "My Gyarados' Intimidate ability is really useful. Gyarados, use Brine!" Gyarados opens his mouth and releases a large rush of water from it, hitting the Carkol, doing lots of super effective damage to it. Steam rises up from Carkol's body.
"Carkol has the Steam Engine ability." said the employee. "That makes it so his speed greatly increases when he's hit with a water or fire type move."
"Cool." said Kenny. "I'll have to remember that."
"Here's something else to take note of, kid; Carkol, use Ancient Power!" said the employee. Rocks with fossils in them rise up from the ground and fly at Gyarados, hitting him, and doing super effective damage, but not too much thanks to Carkol's attack power being weakened by Gyarados' Intimidate ability. A surge of energy rises up from Carkol.
"What's with Carkol?" asked Stan.
"Ancient Power has a chance of increasing all the stats of the Pokemon that used it." explained the employee. "Now use Smack Down!" Carkol launches a rock from the coal pile on his back, hitting Gyarados in the face, doing super effective damage.
"Better hurry and finish this, Kenny!" said Stan.
"Gyarados, use Whirlpool!" said Kenny. Gyarados summons up a swirling vortex of water which catches Carkol in it and spins him around while doing enough super effective damage to knock him out.
"You did it, Kenny!" said Stan.
"Way to go, dude!" said Kyle.
"I could've done better." said Cartman. The employee returns his Carkol to his pokeball, the walks over to Kenny.
"That was a good battle, Kenny." said the employee.
"Yeah, your Carkol was pretty tough." said Kenny. The man reaches into his pants pocket and pulls out an envelope.
"Since you beat me, you've earned an endorsement from us." said the employee as he hands the envelope to Kenny, along with some pokedollars.
"Cool." said Kenny as he puts the endorsement letter in his pocket. He then rejoins his friends who congratulate him on earning his endorsement. After all that was done, they head over to the Motostoke Boutique where Cartman's mom works as a salesclerk.
They soon arrive and head inside where they see Liane and a man dressed in a suit looking over some of the outfits that were on some mannequins.
"Hi, Mom." said Cartman, getting Liane and the man's attention.
"Hello, poopsikins." said Liane.
"So, this is your son you told me about?" the man who was with Liane asked her.
"Yes, sir." said Liane. The man walks over to Cartman and looks at him.
"So, you would like us to endorse you for the Gym Challenge?" the man asked Cartman.
"You bet!" said Cartman. The man looks towards a woman who had long red hair, tan skin, wearing a magenta top, white skinny jeans, and magenta heels.
"Laura, could you help us with something?" asked the man. The woman, now known as Laura, walks over to the man.
"What do you need, sir?" asked Laura. The man looks back towards Cartman.
"This is Laura, one of our models for our sales catalogs." said the man. "But on the side, she's a skilled Pokemon trainer."
"That's cool." said Cartman.
"Laura, I would like you to face off against this boy in a Pokemon battle to see how skilled he is." said the man.
"Yes, sir." said Laura. Everyone but Liane, who stayed behind to keep an eye on the store, go outside and find an open area to battle in. Upon doing so, Cartman and Laura stand far apart from each other while everyone else sits on some nearby benches to watch.
"Are you two ready?" asked the man.
"Yes, sir." said Laura.
"You bet I am!" said Cartman. They each take a pokeball out of their pockets; Laura throws hers, letting out a bipedal Pokemon that had green leaves on her head that acted like hair; white head, hips, and arms; dark purple hips and legs, and what looked like a skirt made of white petals around her waist. Stan takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Steenee, the Fruit Pokemon, and the evolved form of Bounsweet. As it twirls like a dancer, a sweet smell spreads out around it. Anyone who inhales the scent will feel a surge of happiness." said Stan's Rotom Phone.
Cartman throws his pokeball, releasing his Raboot.
"Raboot, use Flame Charge!" said Cartman. Raboot runs at the Steenee while his body is engulfed in fire and slams into her, doing super effective damage. A surge of energy rises up from Raboot, increasing his speed.
"Steenee, use Rapid Spin!" said Laura. Steenee twirls on one of her legs towards Raboot and slams into him. A surge of energy rises up from Steenee, also increasing her speed.
"Okay, Raboot; use Double Kick!" said Cartman. Raboot jumps at Steenee and lands two solid kicks that knock her to the ground unconscious.
"Steenee!" shouts Laura.
"Yes!" said Cartman. The man walks over to Cartman and smiles.
"You are quite talented." said the man as he pulls out an envelope and hands it to Cartman. "There's your endorsement letter."
"Sweet!" said Cartman. Laura hands Cartman pokedollars and walks off with the man. Cartman's friends run over to him.
"Good work, Cartman!" said Stan.
"Way to go, fatass." said Kyle.
"Thanks." said Cartman as he glares at Kyle.
"It's your turn now, Stan." said Kenny.
"Right; off to Motostoke Stadium." said Stan. The boys walked towards the direction of Motostoke Stadium. Upon arriving, they entered the stadium and walked over to the front counter where a man was standing behind. "Excuse me, sir."
"Can I help you, young man?" asked the receptionist.
"I'm Stan Marsh." replied Stan.
"Oh, yes; Sharon's son. I heard you were coming here for an endorsement." said the receptionist.
"Yes, sir." replied Stan. The man pulls out a walkie talkie.
"Briar, Sharon's son is here." said the receptionist. A minute later, a man dressed identical to the receptionist, along with another man wearing a red shirt with gray and yellow cuffs on the end of the sleeves and a black fire design on it, white and red shorts, red socks, and red and black shoes comes out of a doorway nearby. "Okay, Stan; you have to beat Briar there to earn an endorsement here."
"Okay." replied Stan. Stan, his friends, the staff member, and Briar walk outside. Soon, Stan and Briar stood several feet from each other while Kyle, Kenny, Cartman, and the receptionist watched. Stan and Briar each pull out a pokeball.
"Growlithe, go!" said Briar, throwing a pokeball and releasing an orange, canine Pokemon with black stripes. Kyle takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Growlithe, the Puppy Pokemon. It has a brave and trustworthy nature. It fearlessly stands up to bigger and stronger foes." said Kyle's Rotom Phone.
"Drizzle, go!" said Stan, throwing Drizzle's pokeball and releasing him.
"Growlithe, Leer!" said Briar. Growlithe stares at Drizzle and its eyes glow red, weakening Drizzle's defense.
"Drizzle, Growl!" said Stan. Drizzle lets out a loud cry, releasing soundwaves that weakens Growlithe's attack strength.
"Growlithe, Bite!" said Briar. Growlithe leaps at Drizzle and bites him, damaging him.
"Drizzle, Water Pulse!" said Stan. Drizzle forms a ball of water in his hands, and he launches it at Growlithe, hitting it, and dealing super effective damage. Growlithe begins stumbling around.
"Growlithe's confused, dude." said Kyle.
"Growlithe, Flame Wheel!" said Briar. Growlithe runs at Drizzle while fire surrounds him, but confusion gets the better of it and it crashes into a wall, damaging him.
"Water Gun!" said Stan. Drizzle sprays a stream of water out of his mouth, and it hits Growlithe, doing enough damage to knock it out.
"Way to go, Stan!" said Kenny.
"You did it, dude!" said Kyle. Briar returns Growlithe to its pokeball while the staff member walks to Stan.
"You did an excellent job raising your Drizzle, Stan." said the staff member. He reaches into a back pocket and pulls out an envelope. "As per our agreement, here's your endorsement."
"Thanks." said Stan, taking his endorsement letter. Later that day at a restaurant, the boys were having lunch.
"We did it, guys." said Stan.
"This is so cool." said Kyle.
"I knew I'd be awesome." said Cartman.
"Whatever." said Kenny.
"So, when's the Gym Challenge Opening Ceremony?" asked Kyle.
"I think it's tomorrow, dude." said Stan.
"We should head over to Motostoke Stadium and register as soon as we can." suggested Kenny.
"Good call." said Stan.
"Let's eat first." said Cartman.
"You always want to eat." said Kyle.
"Shut up, Kyle." said Cartman.
