Cody and I walked into the Tumbleweed and over to the bar. I noticed that Lily was frantically looking for something.
"Everything ok, Lily?"
She looked up and saw Cody and I standing at the bar.
"I can't find my sarsaparilla recipe. I hope it wasn't stolen."
I looked to Cody. "Think you could go tell Moo and have him go through everything that Terror Bull stole, Cody?"
"Sure thing, Miss Michelle. Be right back." Then he left the Tumbleweed and ran to my brother's office.
"Can I ask why this recipe is so special to you, Lily?"
She stopped rustling around in everything that was under the bar and stood up. She looked a bit upset when I asked about it, but since I don't know anything about what she really does here at the saloon, I had to ask.
"It was passed down from my great grandfather. Its been changed a bit over the years, and when it was finally passed down to me, it was finally perfected. That's why it has a bite to it."
"Family recipes are very important, especially if they've been handed down that far in the family. Can I ask why Terror Bull would want your recipe? I'm not sure I understand."
"Well, its not Terror Bull who wants it. The Mayor wanted it. Why, I don't know."
"Maybe to mass produce it in other towns, maybe. Mass producing your sarsaparilla in other towns would bring in a lot of money, which is probably what he planned to do."
"You know, you're probably right. I never planned to do that, but maybe I should now."
"Its up to you, Lily. If you're wanting to spread the love of your sarsaparilla, then go ahead. If you would like help to do so, I'd be happy to help you."
"I have to think about it for a while, but thank you for the offer."

Cody came back with Moo and the others. I noticed that Moo had something in his hand. It looked like an index card.
"What's that in your hands, bro?"
"Its miss Lily's recipe she was looking for. It was among everything Terror Bull had taken."
I shook my head back and forth. I couldn't believe he would do that.
"I don't like thieves and bullies. I also don't like liars."
"I don't blame you, sis. I'm not fond those kinds of people, either."
Dakota stepped up to me and asked if I could talk to him privately. I looked to my brother and he nodded.
"Sure thing, Dakota. Everything ok?"
"Just please follow me, ma'am."
I followed him outside of the saloon and we sat down on the stairs. I was surprised that he wanted to talk to me.
"So, what can I do for you, Dakota?"
"I would like to apologize for my behavior when I saw you wearing Miss Kate's belt and buckle. She's very special to me and when I saw you wearing those things, I got very upset. I shouldn't have."
I put my hand on his shoulder. "Its water under the bridge, big guy. I also wanna apologize for my remark. I shouldn't have said what I said. I'd like to put this behind us and start fresh. What do you say, Dakota?"
I put my hand out for him to shake it. He did the same and shook my hand. "Here's to starting fresh and making new friends."
"New friends. So, Moo is your brother?"
"Yep. Neither of us knew each other 'til I contacted my dad."
"You used the thing that we were looking at, didn't you?"
"Yep. I only use it at the end of the day to call my boyfriend back in my time."
"I heard that you may be here forever if you can't find a way back."
"Unfortunately, that is true. Moo was suppose to take me to see JR to see if he could help me get back to my time. I had planned to take my brother with me, but then I leave the town without a law enforcement officer."
"Follow your heart, miss Michelle. If you think Moo should go with you, then take him with you."
"I want to, but…"
"Talk to him then."
I smiled and nodded. "Thanks Dakota. You and my boyfriend would get along great. You remind me of him."
"What is he like?"
"About the same as you, really. Respects women and kids. He does have a temper when it comes to them. He will defend them to the end."
"Definitely sounds like me. Do you have a picture of him?"
"Its on my phone. When we get back to the office, I'd have to show you, Dakota. I'm glad we're friends now."
"Me too."
"I'm going to be honest with you, Dakota. Please don't get mad, ok. I told Moo that I felt uncomfortable around you. You intimidate me a little bit. Not gonna lie."
"I can be a bit intimidated, but I have a big heart."
"That's what I figured, especially right now. Does Moo send you and Cowlorado out on patrol once in a while or do all 3 of you go out at once?"
"It depends. He never sends one on their own, though."
"This time there is going to be one lone rider. Tell Moo I went to clear my head and think about how I'm going to get back to my time. I'll be back later."
"Please be careful, miss Michelle. There's still unsavory characters out there."
"You are so sweet to look out for me, Dakota. I give you my word that I will be safe out there."
I stood up and headed down to the horses and got on Charley. I rode out of town and into the desert to find out exactly where the flash of light was and if I can figure out how to bring it back.
