Something wasn't right.
It was a feeling deep in her gut and she kept her expression neutral while amused golden eyes watched her.
Even so, it was quite obvious to the one standing in front of her that something was off.
"Do you need me for anyth–?!" Kagome began, but tensed when felt movement around her waist.
"Hoh?" A single brow rose in response to the paper Shikigami that had poked its upper body out of Kagome's pocket, "Is something wrong, little Miko?"
"I…" Kagome tightened her lips, "I'm sorry, Kimi-sama, something has come up," She apologized, "I have to leave now. I'll try to deal with that rogue Youkai a little later."
"Can the human pup not fend for himself?" Kimi asked with a half smirk, "He will not learn if you coddle him, Miko. You even refuse to bring him along with you to the Makai."
"This is…" Kagome placed her Shikigami on her shoulder and leaned her head down, "This is beyond Souta's capabilities if my Shikigami is reacting like this."
The grip she had on her sword tightened to the point of pain.
"Then you must owe me a favour if I let you leave for just one pup," Kimi shrugged, "Opening a portal to the Ningenkai is not an easy task anymore."
"A favour is fine," Kagome shook her head, "Please, Kimi-sama, open me a portal."
"You're still much too soft," Kimi stood from her throne, slicing the air with her claws in a quick pattern before a portal began to open, "Do hurry, Miko. I need not Reikai to pester me over such a petty thing as portals."
"Thank you, Kimi-sama!" Kagome said with gratitude as she began to disappear in the gateway to the Ningenkai, "I'll pay you back after Souta is safe!"
"Those human pups," Kimi rested back on her throne, eyeing a large item that was wrapped in cloth down by her feet, "I didn't even get a chance to mention this."
Either way, it would be interesting to observe.
"That's…!" Souta immediately sat as straight as he could with his bindings. He smiled, eyes brightening when a familiar presence coated his senses, 'You would always come, Nee-chan, even though I told you not to."
"Heh," Gojo grinned sharply, looking at the doors to the room, "I honestly didn't expect 'Nee-chan' to be so quick to get here. Hell, I even half expected her to not even find this place."
Souta began to retort, but flinched when the two large doors slammed open, "A-aha, Nee-chan…" He started quickly, "You didn't have… to… come here."
Kagome ignored her little brother for the moment and stared at the stranger with silvery hair with a cold expression.
"Hey, Nee-chan," Gojo waved, letting a low whistle of appreciation to escape him, "You aren't what I was expecting at all. You're so small and cute~"
Kagome did not bother to react to his obvious baiting, "Any reason you kidnapped my brother?" She asked simply, eyes darkening at the ties binding Souta.
"What this kid here has done is pretty stupid," Gojo only laughed at Souta's indignant cry, "Showing off a power thought to be dead – and in front of Jujutsu Sorcerers at that! Well, I just guess he was lucky it was me."
Kagome moved over to Souta's chair, not caring about the silvery man's stare, "Don't worry about it, Souta," She said gently, unsheathing her sword, "I'm sure you did what you had to. It's fine."
"Nee-chan," Souta's lip trembled the tiniest bit, "I'm sorry. I didn't know what else to do!" He felt the ropes fall off him as Kagome's sword cut through them like butter, "Nee-chan?!"
Kagome swiftly moved, feeling the man already behind her and she noticed he was faster than the majority of Youkai she had come across thus far.
"Sorry, I don't wanna be so rough with you on our first little date here, but a little sleep wo–?"
Gojo paused, about to flick her forehead to force her into slumber with a simple spell, but something much more interesting immediately got his attention.
Kagome narrowed her eyes, wondering why the man stopped his attack the moment she grabbed his arm to stop him from reaching out to her face.
"You're… touching me."
Kagome blinked, hearing the wonder in his voice as he repeated himself a few times before breaking out into a loud belly laugh.
What was this man's problem?
