Chapter One: The Wish

Jennifer was reading 'Twilight Saga: Eclipse' once again. She loved that book; it was her favorite in the series by far.

She loved Twilight, even though she was too old to still be so obsessed with it. She was 25 years old after all. Yet, she couldn't help it. There was just something so appealing about it, almost addictive in its brilliance.

Of course, the world Stephenie Meyer had created had flaws, big ones; a lot of injustices that don't get resolved at the end of the books.

For example, Bella missed out on a real childhood because Renee was too selfish and irresponsible to care about what her daughter needed. Bella had been forced to work from the time she was a child. She paid the bills and made sure everything was on time. She was forced to cook meals, or she'd starve. It wasn't something a child should worry about.

The next was Charlie being an absentee father, and pretty much not making an effort to know his own daughter. The most he did was make sure Bella had a truck and a roof over her head. Hell, the truck wasn't all that safe for Bella. The least he could have done was get the parts needed and get that truck fixed.

Jennifer also couldn't believe he congratulated a boy who assaulted his daughter against her will and scolded Bella for defending herself. Granted, Bella was a mated woman, she should have stayed away from unmated males. Edward was right to try to keep her away from Jacob as he knew what he was thinking.

Although Edward may have been from the 1900s, he should have listened and respected Bella's decisions instead of trying to control everything she did. Hell, Bella's world should not have revolved around Edward and the Cullens. She was going to be changed into a vampire, she should have been making sure that her family and friends had lasting memories of her before they never saw her again.

Edward made a big mistake when he left Bella in New Moon. He prayed on her insecurities and lack of self-confidence. He also left her in the woods. That was both stupid and dangerous. He had no business doing that to Bella. All of that was because of the forced birthday party that Bella hadn't even wanted, and they failed to respect that. They also failed to take Jasper's gift into account. When they pushed their thirst, it builds up and takes them over the edge. Jasper felt all of that with his gift. His thirst is amplified seven times. His gift is extraordinary but can be a burden also.

Now, Jennifer thought Bella was too much of a pushover and never stood up for herself. She never sticks to her convictions. She always let people take advantage of her. She was submissive to everyone. It was no wonder people failed to treat her as an adult. Jennifer didn't understand why she was so worried about getting a little older. Hell, none of the Cullen kids truly looked like teenagers. Besides, who wanted to be in high school for eternity? That was Jennifer's definition of hell.

Jennifer thought everything would have been better if Bella had someone who cared more about her than anyone else. A sister. A twin. If she had a sister, Bella would know that she had someone there for her always and wouldn't sugarcoat anything for her. She needed someone who would always put her first before anyone else.

Jennifer wished she could be Bella's sister. She would change the outcome of so many things that went wrong in the books and movies. Granted, Jennifer wouldn't want to be a part of the Cullen clan because they seemed to be such a controlling coven and that wouldn't fly with Jennifer. She was an independent woman and always would be. Hell, the Whitlock coven was more her kind of people. She would want to be Riley's mate. He would be changed by the Cullens, and he would hate their restrictive lifestyle, so he wouldn't be with them for long.

Jennifer's gift would be the direct opposite of Bella's. Her gift would be a physical shield with the added gift of being a lie detector. Jennifer has always been able to tell when someone was lying to her, and she wouldn't want that to change.

If it were possible for Jennifer to be Bella's twin, she would want to be completely different. They'd be fraternal twins. Bella could stay her shy self, but Jennifer would be outgoing and confident. She has always hated it when twins were basically lumped into the same person with different names. Jennifer has always been outgoing. Hell, she had been Miss. Popular her whole life and she was a girly girl, but she wasn't afraid of getting dirty either. But she wasn't snooty and thought she was better than anyone. She worked hard at school and anything else she thought up.

Jennifer would want to live in Forks and visit Bella and Renee every break, holiday, and every summer. But she would want her and Bella to be close even from states away. She'd change pretty much everything about the storyline, but the thing she wanted to change the most was Bella's lack of confidence and the way she saw herself. She'd change Bella giving birth like that also. I mean, the baby was half vampire. How big of a leap was it to know that she'd want blood? Instead of doing the delivery in the two weeks, it took for Renesmee to reach full-term and instead, they waited a month and Bella almost died. For such smart vampires, they were idiots.

She stopped thinking about joining the Twilight world knowing it was impossible. She laid the book on her bedside table, falling asleep never seeing the falling wishing star.
