Chapter One: The Steele Sisters
When their friend Kate got sick, Bella and Ana volunteered to interview Christian Grey, although Bella had told her that they weren't asking him anything too personal because it was no one's business, and Ana agreed. Bella may not be a journalist, but she had majored in it for two years before she decided that she wanted to be a chef and now owned her own restaurant, and Ana was in her last year of college, graduating with a degree in journalism and English Literature. "Bells. Are you sure you want to come with me for the interview?" Ana asked her big sister. "Ana. We have been over this. I don't mind coming with you. Besides, the restaurant is closed today for a health inspection," Bella said smiling as she gave her little sister part of her early graduation gift. A blood-red leather jacket, and black stiletto ankle boots.
"Bells! This is gorgeous!" Ana exclaimed looking at the designer jacket and boots. She knew her sister had money, but she didn't think Bella would purchase such expensive items for her. "It's only part of your gift," Bella said smiling as she hugged her favorite person in the world. "Don't bother to ask because it is a surprise," Bella continued laughingly at the pouty expression on Ana's face. She and Ana hated surprises, but that never stopped them from surprising each other.
An hour later they were interviewing Christian Grey and Bella could see the connection between her sister and Mr. Grey. Now, as Ana's older sister, Bella was protective, but she also knew that it was Ana's decision on who she dated. But she could also see that Mr. Grey was a guarded individual, and Ana would have her work cut out for her when trying to get him to open up about himself. When they were getting on the elevator, Bella couldn't help herself and turned toward Mr. Grey and asked, "You wouldn't happen to have a brother would you? And are you single?" she asked, and Ana pulled her into the elevator. "I'm so sorry, Mr. Grey," Ana said hiding her face. "What? He's perfect for you, and I could use a date for your graduation," Bella said laughingly as Christian shook his head in amusement as Ana tried to hide her face.
When the elevator closed, Christian was still shaking his head. Bella was right. Christian liked Ana, and Elliot was looking for something serious. A year ago, Christian wouldn't have considered an actual relationship, but since he helped put Elena Lincoln behind bars for abusing young boys, and after he left the BDSM lifestyle, his life was going in a better direction, and he would like someone to share it with. He pulled out his phone and dialed his brother, "Hey man. Are you still looking for something serious?" he asked when his brother picked up. "Yes. Why? You know someone?" Elliot asked. "Yes. Her name is Izabel Steele, and she owns a chain of restaurants: Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse. She's looking for a date for her sister's graduation," he answered, and Elliot heard the change in his little brother's voice when he talked about the sister. "You wanna see the sister again, don't you?" Elliot asked.
"Yes. So will you go with Izabel?" Christain asked. "Yes. Who knows, maybe it will work out," Elliot said, and after making plans for lunch, they hung up.
Bella and Ana spent the rest of the day in Seattle looking at apartments, but Bella wanted a penthouse. Ana was going to be roommates with Kate, but Bella wanted something large as she did not do small. She never has. She had been adopted by Rosalie Hale-McCarty and Emmett McCarty. Rosalie was the owner of auto shops and stores around the country, while Emmett was the owner of arcade stores around the world after he had been the Quarterback of the Seattle Seahawks for ten years, so Bella grew up with the best of everything.
She found out she was adopted when she was eighteen after she graduated high school, and Bella went to look for Ana and Carla. After Carla explained why she had given up Bella for adoption, Bella forgave her. Carla was a single parent before she met Ray, and it was hard trying to take care of two children, so she did what she thought was best. Thankfully, Ana grew up knowing about her sister, and as it turned out, Bella's parents kept Carla updated on every aspect of her life. Carla even had pictures from the time Bella was adopted by Rosalie and Emmett, all the way up to her college graduation and the grand opening of her first restaurant.
And as it turned out, Bella's parents had boxes of letters and pictures from Carla and Ana over the years. She was incredibly grateful that Carla loved her enough to do what was best for her. The letters were now in a scrapbook on her bedside table, and the pictures were displayed all over her apartment and office at work. Bella lived in Seattle and was helping Ana look for an apartment for her and Kate, and she decided to look for an even bigger apartment than she had now because her friends and parents were always coming over and she didn't have enough room for their own bedroom, and she was changing that.
It took a few hours, but Bella and Ana finally found what they were both looking for in their new homes. Bella's place was plain but since she purchased it, she was going to be decorating it in her style. Muted colors weren't her thing. She was going to hire a construction and interior design team to bring it up to code and her to Bella's style. The only rooms she wasn't going to touch were her aunts and uncles, and her parents and sister. They could decorate them to their styles. As they made their way home, they thought about what their future would bring. Bella was doing great for herself, but she was tired of having everything and yet nothing at all. She wanted someone to share her life with.
Little did she know that her wish would soon come true.
