Chapter One: A New Beginning

Adrianne cursed when she saw one of Hagrid's creatures. She didn't care if she upset him as she set the foul creature on fire. She was done playing nice when all she got was more pain and betrayal from those that claimed to care about her. When her name had come out of the Goblet, she severed ties with the Weasley family and Hermione when they were the first to turn on her. She had done a magical oath to never have anything to do with them again. She hadn't included the twins or their two oldest brothers, but the rest, Adrianne wanted nothing to do with them.

After being betrayed so many times, Adrianne made Sirius and Remus vow to never do anything against her or listen to those about her. Namely, Dumbledore as he had an unhealthy interest in her. Turns out the Vow wasn't necessary as they were her oath-bound godfathers, but it made her feel better that she could always count on them to be there. This past year has been eventful, especially after she sued quite a few people. Rita Seeker for attacking her character. Madame Pomfrey for failing to correct the damages done to her during her childhood. She had lost her healing license for not letting the ministry know about the abuse she endured during her childhood from those animals. She had also sued those that made a fortune writing about her and her family. Adrianne also sold the basilisk carcass and made 3.4 billion galleons. She was the wealthiest witch alive.

She had embraced her Slytherin side for the first time since she first arrived at Hogwarts, bought the company Vernon had worked at, and got him fired as he had been embezzling thousands of pounds a year from the company, and Marge was in prison for animal cruelty, and Petunia had her reputation destroyed after Adrianne published pictures of herself with multiple scars and bruises and pictures of what she had been forced to live in since she was a year old. There was also proof that Adrianne has never been to the doctor during her time with them in that house. And for the final touch, bank statements that they had received from the Potter estate throughout the years. They were now in prison, and their house now belonged to Adrianne. She did not want the house, so she tore it down, and there was now a daycare built on the land.

After she got her revenge, Adrianne put her past to rest.

When Dumbledore found out what she had done, he was enraged, but there had been nothing he could do. His control of what he viewed as his weapon was out of his control. He knew that his control was well and truly lost when she claimed her Ladyship due to them declaring her of age when they made her participate in the Tournament. They had all been stunned when she arrived at the beginning of the school year. Adrianne looked different. Beautiful. Radiant.

The summer before the fourth year at Hogwarts started, Adrianne had embraced her magic. When she found her magical core, a variety of colors floated all around her. It had reminded her of muggle fireworks. It was amazing. The colors were mostly black, grey, silver, and green. Adrianne was a grey witch. She didn't believe in stunning your opponents, nor did she believe in killing someone just because they were there. Adrianne would do what needed to be done. She wasn't a goody two shoes as she led everyone to believe.

Anyway, when she achieved reaching her magic and pulled it towards her, at first, nothing happened until she tried again, harder the second time and that was when she succeeded. The darker power had exploded inside of her magical core, taking over everything and it had hurled her out of the trace.

When she opened her eyes, Adrianne had been gasping for breath. It had felt like a dream to her. A dream that you felt like you were falling to your death until you woke suddenly. That's what it had felt like. When she had calmed down, she had laid there enjoying the feeling of the dark essence that had enveloped her. Adrianne's magic had settled inside of her body like a security blanket. It felt like it was oozing out of every pour in her body. It had given her comfort and power. It was an amazing feeling. But that wasn't the reason everyone was staring at her.

Adrianne looked very different. Her previous dark brown hair was now a stunning ebony black. It was black as night and framed her aristocratic face, which was almost completely from the Black's, you could tell she was a Potter, but some characteristics were pure Black, obviously inherited from her paternal great-grandmother who was a Black, she also had traces from the Malfoy's and the Rosier's who had married Potter's along the line, Dumbledore, the old goat recalled that Adrianne's great great grandmother had been the only girl from the Rosier's. Apparently, Adrianne had inherited traces from several lines over the summer, giving origin to beauty without precedent.

Dumbledore had sensed the power surrounding her and knew the binds he had put on her magic had been released. He couldn't do anything about it as he knew if he were to try, the backlash alone could kill him.

Adrianne came out of her thoughts when she noticed the trophy. Seeing Cedric reach for the trophy, Adrianne did something no one expected, she used one of her family abilities thought lost for centuries, she cloned herself and got to it first. She didn't care that Cedric was supposed to be the Hogwarts champion. Not after he allowed his classmates to bully her. She smirked at him before disappearing.

She knew what was going to happen. She had a connection with him, so she wasn't surprised when she appeared inside a graveyard. She had her wand out before the pathetic excuse of a wizard knew what was happening and stunned him. She hissed when her scar flared in pain.

"Oh, relax would you? I'm not here to stop you. I came to help. I'm taking you up on the offer that you made in my first year," she explained breathing a sigh of relief when the pain eased.

"Get on with it," he ordered, and she refrained from cursing him. She took orders from no one.

"Don't melt the cauldron," she snarked before levitating him into the cauldron. "Bone of the father, unknowingly given, you will renew your son," Adrianne murmured, summoning some of the dried bone from Tom Riddle Senior's tomb and letting it fall into the cauldron. The surface sparked and crackled and turned an electric blue, shimmering in the night and Adrianne blinked at the sudden change of color. She pulled out the supply bag she had inside her pocket and unshrunk it, she grabbed one of the phials there and emptied it into the cauldron.

"Horn of the unicorn, willingly presented, you will purify and heal this childe of magic,"

The potion hissed violently and pure white ripples went across the top until the whole liquid was uniform.

"Earth from the place called home, readily taken, you will ground this man and keep him well." Adrianne sprinkled the earth from Hogwarts into the cauldron and watched it fade to dull grass green, bubbling slightly before settling still. Adrianne picked up another phial and this one was filled with a deep red liquid she took a deep breath, this was the biggest risk she was taking with the ritual. This ritual she had created, required her blood, and she knew it was a risk, but it was worth it, she decided as she poured it into the cauldron.

"Blood of an equal, freely given, with this you will always meet your match,"

It started to boil, frothing and bubbling as it went a bright Avada Kedavra green, like Adrianne's own aura before settling to a simmer and she released a breath; that had to be a good sign, right? She selected the final phial and closed her eyes; this was it.

"Ash from a phoenix, honorably bestowed, you will revive this man," Adrianne dropped the ash in the cauldron and it instantly went a blinding gold color, showering the entire graveyard in light and pure gold drops were spitting from it. And then it stopped, leaving the blinding light to get brighter and brighter until Adrianne couldn't see anything, not even her own nose before the night was plunged back into darkness. Adrianne felt like she was blind, the sudden lack of light making her other senses come alive and she could hear ragged breathing, a new sound and she centered herself, lighting her wand to allow her eyes to adjust. Before her, stood gripping the sides of the cauldron to keep himself vertical, was a man, he was tall, quite scarily so, and slim. Pale skin that held a soft glow, bright, crimson eyes, and a nose that was straight with a slight upturn that seemed to fit the handsome aristocratic face.

Lord Voldemort had risen again.

"Where is my wand?" he asked her and she promptly handed it to him. "What do you want?" he asked. "I'm taking you up on your offer, but I will not bow. I do not bow before anyone. I am a Black and a Potter. I am better than that," she announced. She knew her worth. "The only way you are getting that is if I blood adopt you making you my heiress. I cannot have children due to the rituals I have done on myself," he said and Adrianne was stunned beyond belief.

"I will do that on one condition," she said taking a deep breath. "I want Pettigrew. He's my only chance of getting Sirius his freedom. I also want Snape's head on a platter for his part in getting my family killed," she announced, and Voldemort was stunned but he couldn't help but like the bloodlust inside of her. He'd want the same thing. "Done," he said as he had no room in his ranks for those that betray their friends and comrades on a whim.

They performed the blood adoption ritual, and Adrianne gained another inch in height, she had a ring of red around her eyes, but no one could tell if they weren't paying attention. It's been hours since Adrianne showed up, and she knew if she did not leave, people would come looking. She grabbed Pettigrew, and the trophy, before disappearing.

"Well, this is going to be interesting," Voldemort muttered as he entered his father's house.
