Chapter One: Back to Hogwarts
When Draco boarded the train, he never expected to run into Rosalie Potter, twin sister to the Boy Who Lived, Harry Potter who happens to be his school rival. Draco couldn't believe how much Rosalie had changed over one summer. Her once pixie-style ginger-red hair darkened to a waist-length wavy stunning auburn, and her face was now cleared of acne and freckles. She sprouted up from five-foot-two to five-foot-five. She gained curves in all the right places and now had a beautiful hourglass figure. Her once dull hazel eyes had brightened and you could see flecks of green and gold. She was absolutely gorgeous.
"Wow," he muttered as he stared at her smiling when she blushed and gave him a shy smile. Rosalie and he had been acquaintances from the time they started school. He wouldn't say they were friends, but they talked and studied together. Rose never participated in his rivalry with her brother, as she was a Ravenclaw, but she made sure to let them know they were being stupid. That was the one thing Draco admired about Rosalie Potter. She was not afraid to tell anyone what she thought even though it caused her to have a few enemies.
Merlin, Draco knew she only tolerated Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger due to their friendship with her brother. She hated them and didn't have any respect for them. Granger always thought she was right all of the time while telling her brother what to do as if she was their mother, while Weasley had the manners of a pig, and seemed content on doing the bare minimum to pass classes. Weasley's attitude toward classes was influencing Harry and she hated it. Rosalie knew he could do so much more if only he applied himself.
Her brother was brilliant, but he feared losing his friends over doing his best, so he slacked off. The thing is, if they were his true friends, they would support him in everything he put his mind to. She was brought out of her thoughts when she noticed Draco gesturing toward an empty compartment. She smiled and entered before he followed in after her and they locked and silenced the door while casting a Notice Me Not ward onto the doors and window.
Rosalie took a moment to take in everything about Draco that had changed over the summer. His eyes were molten silver, he grew another two inches, and she could see that he had put on more muscle from quidditch practice. He was a handsome young man now. Not that he hadn't been before but it came out more during the summer.
"What happened to you?" he asked in disbelief. She smiled a breathtaking smile making his breath get caught in his throat. "Andy Tonks. I stayed the summer with her and Ted, her husband, and she gave me a makeover. She also taught me everything I needed to know about what it meant to be an heiress. She taught me a lot and I owe her," Rosalie explained smiling at the thought of the amazing summer she had. She had tried to get Harry to come with her, but his stupid pride wouldn't allow him to ask for help.
Rosalie and Draco talked for a while before he went to find his friends, while she pulled her uniform out of her tote bag that had an unlimited extension charm, along with many charms to prevent damage and theft. It had been her mother's. It had been just plain blue, but with a little charms work, it now had the Ravenclaw House crest on it. Rosalie was proud of her school house and it showed.
It was a shame Harry hadn't come with her this summer as he had the opportunity to learn more about their family. Their mother had been a Charms Master and an Unspeakable, while their father hadn't just been an auror, he had been a Hit Wizard and had a dual Mastery in Transfiguration and Defense Against the Dark Arts. Rosalie spent the summer going through their family vaults, and she was surprised at how many there were. She and Harry had ten vaults altogether. She sold the basilisk carcass they had killed in their second year of Hogwarts and had it split down the middle and had the goblins place Harry's half in his trust vault, while Rosalie opened a new business vault and had the goblins invest everything and they tripled her money in just two months.
As it turned out, their mother Lily hadn't been a muggle-born at all. She had been the last descendant of the Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw bloodline, but only females could inherit those titles, so they belonged to Rosalie along with her mother's personal vault. As it turned out, the Evans family had been wealthy, but everything had come to Lily Potter and not Petunia as come to find out, Petunia had tried to kill Lily when they were fifteen. Rosalie had been enraged when she learned that. So enraged that she bought Vernon's company and fired him.
Rosalie had also entered the joint vault her parents shared and was amazed. It held journals, books from their school years, trucks, Grimoires, pictures, and much more. She took everything inside and forged copies for Harry so they could each have memories of their parents. Though, she did keep her father's copy of the Marauder's Map since Harry had Sirius's copy.
She was brought out of her thoughts when the train pulled up to the Hogsmeade station. "Rosie!" she heard from behind her before she felt arms go encircle her waist. "Luna," she greeted back hugging her. Luna was the little sister she always wanted. She had been protecting Luna since she started Hogwarts since the others in their house thought it was okay to bully her and steal her belongings. Rosalie had put a stop to that and charmed her belongings so no one could take them any longer.
"How was your summer little sister?" she asked as they sat down at their table. No one was brave enough to sit next to them after Rosalie had hexed two of the girls so badly they were sent to the hospital wing the year before when they tried to put a love potion in her brother's food.
"It was great, and from your letters, you had a good summer also," Luna said smiling at her sister and protector. By the end of the night, Rosalie was raging mad. They reinstated the Tri-Wizard Tournament, and she knew her brother would be in danger again as he had every Halloween since their parents were murdered.
I'll protect him as best I can she promised herself before falling asleep.
Chapter Two: The Goblet of Fire
Halloween night was the first time Rose had the opportunity to talk with her brother all term without his shadows following him everywhere. Rose was sure that Granger and Weasley thought her brother did not have the right to privacy. It was maddening. She couldn't understand why those two thought they had the right to follow him everywhere along with knowing everything he did or said. Rose found it enraging.
"Rosie! How was your summer?" he asked hugging her close. The summer was like he lost a limb without his little sister. They may be twins, but Harry was born twenty minutes before Rose, so he was the oldest in his mind and it was his job to make sure she was safe and happy. That was the whole reason he asked her to stay with the Tonks family because he knew something awful would have happened to her, and he had been right. He had overheard Vernon mentioning that he would sell her to his friends to make a fortune. There was no way anyone would be touching his sister like that without her consent.
"It was great, but it would have been better if you had been with me," she said hugging him close. She knew why he sent her away due to their twin telepathy. They would read each other's minds and feel each other's emotions. "Did you take any of the potions I sent you?" she asked even though she knew he had. He had also grown and put on some much-needed weight and muscle. Harry was now a healthy young man. He grew from five-foot-four to five-foot-nine. Their father had been over six-foot-one, so Harry still had some growing to do but she was happy that he was now healthy. His hair was no longer messy, but he now sported a just-got-laid hairstyle from what Luna had told Rose. It was disgusting hearing that about her brother, but she also knew Luna had the world's biggest crush on him, and it would only develop into something more when Luna really got to know Harry as a person.
"Of course, I did, and I feel great!" he exclaimed. He really did. Harry slept better, had more energy, and he was now big enough to fight back in that wretched house. It was wonderful to now have his own clothing now. Rose had sent him a rather large package on their birthday and inside had been a new wardrobe, shoes, and glasses that were his prescription, along with contacts, and anything else she thought he might need. Luckily the clothing and shoes were charmed to grow with him so he wouldn't have to get anything new until he hit his final growth spurt.
"I have something for you," Rose said pulling him into her dorm. The Ravenclaw tower was different. Due to everyone's different studying habits, the students in Ravenclaw had their own bedrooms so as to not disturb anyone. "You're so lucky," he said as he sat at her desk. It never failed to make him a little jealous that his sister had her own bedroom, but at least he knew she was okay and that was all that mattered to him. It also helped that the doorframe was charmed to prevent males from coming into her bedroom with or without her permission.
He was brought out of his thoughts when Rose levitated a trunk in front of him, and from the initials on the trunk, it had belonged to their father. "Look inside," she directed smiling as he did so and hugged him when he broke down for inside were their parent's school belongings, journals, and anything and everything they ever own during their Hogwarts years and a few years after. There were baby books of both him and Rose. It was wonderful. "I copied everything, so we both have them because it wouldn't be fair if I kept mums and you daddy's. I wanted the both of us to have their belongings, so I copied everything so we wouldn't have to decide," she explained.
"This is amazing," he whispered as he went through everything. "I do have daddy's map of the school, as you have Uncle Sirius's," she said smiling as he squeezed her hand. He was happy that she now had a map also. "Now the trunk has charms on it to prevent elemental damage, theft, feather-light charm, and a built-in shrinking charm. It's also charmed so that only you can touch it and if anyone tries, they'll be hit with a stinging hex, and it will gradually get worse if they keep trying," she explained. Harry knew she had done this because he had told her that he was tired of Hermione and Ron going through his truck whenever they pleased.
"Thank you, Rosie. This is incredible," he said hugging her close. He was the only one that Rose allowed to touch her other than Luna. If anyone else tried, they wound up hexed so bad they went to the hospital wing.
"Hare-Bear, listen. I know somehow you will be a part of this Tournament, and I need you to know that you can always count on me. I will be here every step of the way," she promised. "I know Rosie. Every year on Halloween, I am always placed in danger, but I am so happy it's never you. I'd rather it be me and not you. I swore to protect you," he said. She hugged him close. "I know, big brother. I love you," she whispered in his ear just as Luna walked into the room.
"So, you were finally able to give Harry memories of your parents, Rosie?" she asked as she sat on the bed. Rose was shocked. She hadn't told Luna anything about it, but she was finally coming to terms, that Luna had the gift of knowing. "Lu, I am done trying to figure out how you know random things," Rose said laughingly. "Finally! You've only just been trying since I started my first year," Luna said giggling and Harry was entranced. Her laugh was lovely, and his breath caught in his throat as he gazed at this beautiful girl. Rose smiled as she snuck out of her bedroom without either of them knowing or caring. She was happy that Harry seemed so taken with Luna.
Later that night, Rose knew she was right to worry. After the drawing of the Champions, the Goblet had relit, and her brother's name came out. Before she could stop herself, she was next to her brother before he entered the room. "Harry, I want you to repeat after me, okay?" she asked and he looked confused before she recited the oath into his ear so everyone in the room couldn't hear her, and she pulled away smirking as he took out his wand.
"I, Harrison James Potter, do hereby swear upon my magic that I did not put my name in the goblet of fire, nor did I engage any magical being in any way to do so for me. So, mote it be," raising his wand, he cast the Patronus charm, and everyone was amazed as they stared at Prongs. He had not lost his magic; his oath was the absolute truth. Just for the hell of it, Rose cast hers, and out came a dragon. She was stunned. It used to be a doe, but as she gazed at her new Patronus, she couldn't help but let her eyes wander toward Draco. She had been in love with him since the previous year. She realized this after she had become enraged when Hermione punched him.
Draco was stunned. No one but his mother or Rose had known his Patronus was a dragon. He knew what it meant when another witch or wizard's Patronus changed to that of its paired Patronus. It meant love. He couldn't believe this amazing woman felt like this for him. He had been crushing on her since their first year after she wasn't afraid to call him an idiot for flying without supervision. It hadn't mattered what she had looked like on the outside because her mind, soul, and heart were the most beautiful parts of Rosalie Euphemia Potter.
